Roll up, roll up (if you can, you skinny Minnie’s!) to all the brave WL warriors still battling on and hanging on in there.

8 months in … welcome to thread 8! 🥰

This thread I pledge:
to do two exercise sessions per week.
(There I’ve said it. Better do it now, hadn’t I).

Goal:
Find an amazing dress to wear for an awards ceremony I am going to in November.

Anyone else got any particular targets?

Big love to you all x

@SpiralSister sorry for your loss, i understand complicated parental relationships and the challenges around grieving them.

Happy birthday @sweetpickle2, what a great place to be at 40.

I haven't logged my weight for a few weeks, still continuing to jab, just care less about the number. I have started training for a marathon so i am focussing on fuelling now which takes priority over everything else.

Might check on Monday, might not.

I am considering swapping to Wegovy next month, i am nervous about side effects though. Has anyone sucessfully changed over?

CoolLimeSheep · 22/11/2025 00:37

@ThatJoyousHazelDuck I switched to wegovy side effects wernt as bad as mj for me felt hungrier at first so made them up me too highest that did feel alot like mj for few days. Im now on journey of going down each month a pen so should be off all injections by feb I have lost a stone tho since being on wegovy think in 8 weeks. So good luck 😊

For everybody scared to come off Mounjaro... I've done it.

I last jabbed 4 weeks ago and I had been on 10mg

I was close to GW (wanted to get just under 70kg) and am now hovering between 68.8 and 70.5 kg (I weigh at least three times a week)
I haven't experienced a massive change in appetite. Still have smaller portions, I must have got used to eating more salads and vegetables and I continue to do so and make sure I have enough protein and fibre. I continue to drink a lot of water
My big downfall and definite addiction was chocolate. I do eat a tiny bit of that (and def feel like wanting to eat it now) but don't want it nowhere near as before.

Good luck everybody.

So you just dropped cold turkey? No tapering? So glad it’s worked ok for you. No appetite increases?

I think I read somewhere it can take 6-8 weeks to come out of your system? Please keep updating with how you’re feeling, you will give us hope!

viktoria · 22/11/2025 09:14

@PerditionCatchMySoul it wasn't totally my decision.
I was diagnosed with an unrelated medical condition (and I can tell you that I am very happy that I'm facing this at normal weight, rather than as an obese person) and my GP suggested I should stop Mounjaro.
Before that I was planning to continue for a while on 5 or 2.5mg.
I can imagine that my diagnosis is somewhat stressing me but previously I would have resorted to my usual "coping mechanisms" (definitely comfort eating).
And I'm not. I WANT to eat healthily, like I have done (more or less) since February.
Also, being able to go on long walks without my Achilles tendon hurting, has changed my life (and gives me more comfort than chocolate ever did) and I continue this.
Life is definitely easier as a normal sized person.
Best of luck! Don't be scared! I'm sure you have picked up many healthy habits along the way without even realising!

Ah, thanks for this. I am so close to being where i want to be but i'm not feeling ready to go it alone just yet but the cost of MJ is just so high. I just need a bit of a nudge while i really settle into training.
I just found a picture of me from last Christmas, i don't even recognise myself anymore.

Just sharing my experience.

I was fine for about 4 months after Mounjaro. Then the slippery slide started. Hope things continue to go well for you. Just be careful - it's still early days...

MynameisJune · 22/11/2025 20:55

Hey all,

it’s been a while, life comes at me fast this time of year and work has been super busy.

@SpiralSister I’m sorry to hear about your mum. I completely understand complicated parental relationships.

All of those at goal - huge congratulations and well done!!

@Zibb Absolutely amazing how well you’ve done off MJ. Inspiring, and I’m so happy for you. I remember how worried you were at stopping.

I reached my goal weight today, 147lb or 66.6kg total loss from my heaviest weight is 61lb or 27.6kg which just seems obscene. I was so clearly in denial about how big I was. BMI is 22 so nicely within the healthy range.

I was planning on tapering down and then staying on a low dose for a while. But I’ve recently started new meds and along with the MJ they’re obliterating my appetite, if I lose too much weight the Dr will take me off them but they’re amazing for doing what they’re supposed to do. So I’m going to jump down from 8mg - 5mg and then 2.5mg and then that should finish the pen I’ve got open and hopefully I’ll be able to carry on on my own and not lose much/any more. I have an unopened 5mg in the fridge which I’m keeping as a comfort blanket.

I see there’s a fair few of us in maintenance now so I’ll be watching along for hints/tips and sharing any I find.

Going into 2026 as a size 8 from being a 16/18 at the turn of the year is just mind boggling and I’ll never regret the decision to start MJ ever.

CoolLimeSheep · 23/11/2025 01:50

@MynameisJune I say exactly the same best decision of my life to have mj changed my life in so many ways and still have the downs but new lease of life when I didn't even think id still be here last august. May have cost me but being able to do things I couldnt 16 months ago is so liberating for all of us 💪😊🙌

CoolLimeSheep · 23/11/2025 01:52

@SpiralSister I have complicated parent relationships so understand it hope your still doing ok? Here if you need me😊

PurpleCoo · 23/11/2025 06:33

@SpiralSister I'm sorry for your loss. I also understand the impact of grief within a complicated relationship.

Well, I am still sort of stuck in my plateau, although I am now dipping into the 68s fairly regularly this past week. It is hard when everyone else here seems to have reached goal, and I am stubbornly stuck with a BMI of around 25.8-9. I know it's not a competition, and I am so pleased for everyone, but I feel like I am bottom of the class and have been left behind. My appetite hasn't increased, I weigh my food and I still go to the gym 4 times a week and walk every day. In one month I have lost 0.25kg, and in 3 months I have lost 3.5kg. I have attached Boditrax scores for the past month, so at least there is some evidence of some slight improvement in muscle mass/fat mass. Also pretty pleased with having a metabolic age of 34 when I am actually 49.

Edit - just realised my maths doesn't add up... I quoted my monthly weight loss from the data I put in Shotsy, which comes from my home scales. The attached scan is from boditrak

Rightstrideoflife · 23/11/2025 08:37

@SpiralSister Thinking of you. Understand possibly having very mixed feelings or even none at times.

@PurpleCoo Ahem if you want to start a comparison, I suspect I'm bottom of the class. Also you are doing brilliantly at the gym so suspect you are recomping at the same time.

Purple's post made me weigh myself. I'm now 69kg. I would like to lose another 4kg. Weight loss just isn't a priority for me at this point though so I'm happy to let the weight loss happen slowly over the next 4 months or so...

I'm now on 2.1mg every 7 days which is also allowing me to drink. 😁

I hear this, stark naked i can creep into the 68's but i am generally loitering in the 69's. If i average out, i haven't lost anything since 20 October which is frustrating. My BMI is still over 27 and i am starting to think it won't go down much more.
I think it's why i am feeling bored of doing the same thing for no change.
Ultimately, i am still in a better place than i was this time last year though and i am trying to remember that when it feels shit x

usedtobeaylis · 23/11/2025 12:23

First thing that jumped out there is your decolletage!

Slathered daily with moisturiser to try and help keep away wrinkles! 😅

WoolerOwl · 23/11/2025 19:40

Shower and hair wash just now. So much less hair loss than previously. I hope I’m over the worst.

CoolLimeSheep · 24/11/2025 00:19

Sorry to people that are plateuing its so frustrating and can feel like your been left behind. I remember it well although for me I haven't started when most of you did i was so much further in so its taken me 16 months to target for me if that helps anyone. And in all honesty this has been the best bunch of people and so supportive that I could have wished for ❤️. I haven't got much advise for plateaued as such but im sure it will eventually break through or your body is recomposing always do meusuments is my only advise.
Update me didn't jab this week did gain couple of pounds but honestly dont care. Jabbed today so hoping lose a couple or just maintain

usedtobeaylis · 24/11/2025 09:05

I forgot to jag yesterday so done it this morning and done an extra weigh beforehand. Yep... Still 12st 3lb. I'm going to change my username to twelvestonethreepound 😆

I don't know whether it's a plateau as such or if I'm just somehow managing to maintain - I've been more hungry but pretty much sticking to my calories. However my exercise has dropped off a cliff the last two weeks due to how cold and icy it's been outside - I don't have the right clothes for it yet. Even so, I believe I should still be losing about 0.5lb to 1lb a week.

But I'm not panicking which is good!

ThatJoyousHazelDuck · 24/11/2025 10:29

@usedtobeaylis ah me too, although i weigh in kilo so 69.3 for me.... again.... exactly where i was 4 weeks ago. Oh well, at least i haven't gained.
Also, lots of people suddenly commenting again so perhaps shape is still changing.
I think i am going to switch to wegovy next month, will have to eventually so might as well save £50 now.
Happy Monday everyone 😊

MrsHero · 25/11/2025 09:44

Two things:

  1. I'm 3lb off my target weight (10st) but don't feel 'done' quite yet. Has anybody amended it when they reached it, and are there any issues with pharmacies?

  2. I've got a pair of knickers from my 'when I am slimmer' bag which are a size 14-16 and still dig into my sodding hips now I'm wearing size 10. Whhhhhyyyy?! Bin, I think!

My goal was 10st, I think I want to get closer to 9st now so I have a buffer and can sit around 9.5st which is BMI 23 (top end of healthy range for me)

My goal at start wasn't even healthy bmi was just to be more mobile and active i couldnt possibly of imagined I would lose all this weight from 19 stone 9 to 10 stone 3 I can relate to the knickers thing my partner bought me some and there tight on my hips but can fit in size 8 or 10 pants maybe its just sizing from certain places. Im couple of pounds past my end goal as 10 stone 5 was mine which not sure now when I decided that 🤣. Ace your 3lb of target tho. Not sure if i want drop much more tho

WoolerOwl · 25/11/2025 19:56

GOAL, GOAL, GOAL!!!!!!!

Height 173cm
Start weight end Feb 2025: 100kg (15st10)
Start weight end Nov 2025: 64kg (10st1)

BMI down from 34 to 21.4.

Size 16/18 to 10/12.
Bra size from 38E to (just bought from Vinted, let's see if they fit) 32D.

Cholesterol almost normal.
No migraines for as long as I have been taking MJ.
Floppy skin around my stomach, but the rest looks pretty good.

I had a few side effects along the way, mainly sleeplessness the first night after jab, indigestion after spicy meals or eating too late in the evening, dizziness and weakness after each jab in the early days, but that's got better as I've exercised more.

I do believe that I have changed my eating habits. I've really given up all sweets, cake, biscuits, except for a very occasional pudding on special occasions. I eat two meals a day with a focus on protein, healthy fats, carbs mainly from veg, a little fruit, and occasional small portions of pasta, rice, potato, oats. I drink loads more water, electrolytes once a day, collagen sachet every morning.

I have started exercising: couch to 5k done and I try to run/cycle/swim twice a week, and do two sessions at home of weights and stretches. Having a personal trainer has really helped.

I'm writing all of this down in the hope that it helps others who are starting this journey. And to remind me of the changes I've made.

I am very happy, and very determined not to go back. I have quite a lot of new clothes, so I can't go back!!

Thank you all for the support along the way. It has meant a lot to me.
