Roll up, roll up (if you can, you skinny Minnie’s!) to all the brave WL warriors still battling on and hanging on in there.

8 months in … welcome to thread 8! 🥰

This thread I pledge:
to do two exercise sessions per week.
(There I’ve said it. Better do it now, hadn’t I).

Goal:
Find an amazing dress to wear for an awards ceremony I am going to in November.

Anyone else got any particular targets?

Big love to you all x

Congratulations @WoolerOwl! That really is fantastic. A massive well done 💐

Congratulations 🙌

GOAL, GOAL, GOAL!!!!!!!

Height 173cm
Start weight end Feb 2025: 100kg (15st10)
Start weight end Nov 2025: 64kg (10st1)

BMI down from 34 to 21.4.

Size 16/18 to 10/12.
Bra size from 38E to (just bought from Vinted, let's see if they fit) 32D.

Cholesterol almost normal.
No migraines for as long as I have been taking MJ.
Floppy skin around my stomach, but the rest looks pretty good.

I had a few side effects along the way, mainly sleeplessness the first night after jab, indigestion after spicy meals or eating too late in the evening, dizziness and weakness after each jab in the early days, but that's got better as I've exercised more.

I do believe that I have changed my eating habits. I've really given up all sweets, cake, biscuits, except for a very occasional pudding on special occasions. I eat two meals a day with a focus on protein, healthy fats, carbs mainly from veg, a little fruit, and occasional small portions of pasta, rice, potato, oats. I drink loads more water, electrolytes once a day, collagen sachet every morning.

I have started exercising: couch to 5k done and I try to run/cycle/swim twice a week, and do two sessions at home of weights and stretches. Having a personal trainer has really helped.

I'm writing all of this down in the hope that it helps others who are starting this journey. And to remind me of the changes I've made.

I am very happy, and very determined not to go back. I have quite a lot of new clothes, so I can't go back!!

Thank you all for the support along the way. It has meant a lot to me.

Amazing, well done to you. What an achievement 🥳🥳🥳

Absolutely amazing you did it ❤️😍☺️🎉 amd did it so well x

WoolerOwl · 26/11/2025 14:52

☺️ Thank you. I’ve just celebrated by buying a size 10L pair of M&S jeans!

laundryhamper · 26/11/2025 17:17

@WoolerOwl
well done!

(Slight side bar - I didn’t know one could buy bras on Vinted!! Do they have to be NWT?)

WoolerOwl · 26/11/2025 17:23

Depends how choosy you are! I tend to go for BNWT. But don’t mind taking a chance on an expensive brand lightly worn, or new without tags, at a bargain price, especially if trying out a new size. A couple of quid on Vinted is cheaper than a couple of hours of torture and transport costs to get to somewhere where I can try one on…

I stepped on the scale this morning and I'm under no illusions this will continue into Sunday but the scale said 11st 13lbs 😱

After about 5 weeks at the same 12st 3lb it genuinely took a few seconds to compute what I was seeing. The numbers looked jumbled up 😅

I don't know when I was ever last in the 11 stone bracket am I'm absolutely amazed at that drop seemingly overnight (I know it's not and that it's just not been reflected on the scale but still!).

I tried on a size 14 dress this morning that I've had in the cupboard for a while and holy shit my waist looks tiny. It still doesn't quite fit around the boobs but I'm so so close! The 16 I tried on is one I wore to a night out about two years ago and it absolutely drowns me, absolutely not wearable.

Hi everyone. Sorry been a bit awol but back in the room now. Not sure why really as you’re such an awesome supportive group, just a lot going on irl that I’ve been struggling with.

Anyway, Jesus Christ some amazing successes from you all!!

Weighing in to stay accountable.
sw 89.2kg (14 st and a bit)
cw 64.4kg (10 st 1)

On a total whim, I had an NHS health check done (think they were having a really slow day in the pharmacy, and saw me coming and thought “Aha! Old bag! Get that cholesterol done!”)

My results are all so good now, it’s embarrassing. Heart age of 47 (I’m 53), low cholesterol, good BP, low risk of heart attack in next ten years (1.5%!)

From a starting point BMI of about 29 and regular asthma and out of breath, I feel like a changed person.

Now I think my dose is too high as still losing weight, albeit v slowly. (2kg in 2 months since I hit my goal weight). Will discuss with my provider before I order next time.

Onwards and downwards, Losers!

SpiralSister · 28/11/2025 09:47

Morning warriors!

Well done for all the successes, and keep on trucking for those in plateau - is set point a thing? Where your body holds onto weight despite being in a calorie deficit?

I’m in maintenance now, but weighing in to keep on track. Still on 5mg. Eating a little more, and a few things I haven’t eaten for the last 9 months. This has not gone down well with my tum, so pacing myself. Now weigh 10.4, BMI is 24. So still losing, albeit at glacial pace. Wearing 10-12 (still can’t believe that, tbh).

Have a great weekend all! 💐

WoolerOwl · 28/11/2025 11:07

Morning Spiral! It's great to know that maintenance is possible. I'm joining you. Had some chocolate last night, which is the first in a very long time. And cheese and crackers with my homemade soup. But managed a good fast walk from one work appointment to another, plus a weights/stretch session the night before. Hovering around 64.5kg and have just collected my next 5mg from the pharmacy, which should see me through Xmas.

CoolLimeSheep · 29/11/2025 08:32

W41 Day 1 (week 3 on 8.5mg)
SW: 16st 5lb
CW: 12st
Loss this week: 3lb
Total loss: 4st 5lb

I didn't stay under the 12st then after the strange mid-week weigh but still very happy to have finally broken out of that spell at the same weight. I've now lost a whopping 61lbs which is insane. The past week everyone has been commenting on it as well, so even though I didn't lose anything for a few weeks, it seems something was definitely happening.

When I say everyone, I just mean people close to me - most people aren't mentioning anything and I hope it stays that way. Sometimes I catch sight of myself and think Holy Jesus I look like half the person where do I have another almost 3 stone to lose from (if I even aim for that, I'm probably aiming for more like 1.5 stone now as I feel fairly comfortable) - but I think my abdomen and hips are hanging on to fat for dear life. My daughter's dad did say if I lose much more I'll look gaunt but I'm not sure - is that really true or is it just that people are so used to seeing me fat that it would seem gaunt in comparison? Because I AM still overweight and another stone will take me into the healthy weight range. Which is actually bloody miraculous.

My aim for the next month over Christmas is to not put weight on!

Sorry @CoolLimeSheep I have no idea why you're quoted here and I can't seem to unquote you!

WoolerOwl · 30/11/2025 10:21

My shoes are just enormous! I have a big event at the end of this week and just pulled out my smart outfit, ready to pack. Clothes are fine. The brilliant Traitors style kilt from Vinted is spot on, as is an old but barely worn black velvet jacket that I had “grown out of”. But the smart patent loafers are like boats.

So I’ve ordered some chunky loafers from Whistles, with next day delivery. I may have to go and try the rest of my shoes on and see what’s going in the charity shop bag.

I need to remind myself in future that feet don’t magically grow in middle age. It’s that my feet had got fat and swollen and I needed to do something about it.

nellietheellie75 · 30/11/2025 10:55

Morning everyone! Well I've started week 4 on 1mg Wegovy after being on 7.5mg Mounjaro. I've gone up and down a couple of pounds over the weeks, but am back to where I was on Mounjaro. No side effects!

People will be used to you being larger. So any weight loss past a certain point means they start saying we look gaunt.

they don’t know!!!

we actually just look thinner and healthier.

well done on your loss! Enjoy!

mummymissessunshine · 30/11/2025 12:40

Happy Sunday all!
I have reached the heady low of a BMI 22.8. (From 30).

feel amazing. Bought some new size 10 clothes on vinted and in the Black Friday sales.

and am now more interested in fashion. At the ripe old age of late 40s!!!

have moved down to 7.5mj. Will see how I stabilise over the Christmas holidays and look to down grade to 5mj in the new year.

#maintenance here I come!

mummymissessunshine · 30/11/2025 12:41

Btw my face / neck are feeling a little saggy….. what are you guys doing to fluff up your face and neck?!!!

CoolLimeSheep · 30/11/2025 21:10

This is what im going be wearing for work xmas party was a couple of weeks ago that I took this. I think at goal weight 10 stone 5.
@usedtobeaylis i too think it will be because there used do seeing you as larger person. @nellietheellie75 thats good no side effects i to went up and down at first switching and same when had a week off. @mummymissessunshine haven't had that with face or neck but top thighs and tummy for me just hoping gain muscle in them areas as isn't meant to look as bad but read that online so time will tell

So many good updates recently! I can't believe how far we've all come in such a short time.

I got some bargains in the charity shop today, a hush coat (in a XS!) and some bnwt mint velvet jeans for £15!! The coat fits great, it's ugly but so warm. The jeans are a size 12 but too big. Gutted but also pleased 🤣

I know, I know, sizing is all messed up, vanity sizing etc. but whatever, I'm taking it as a win!

I haven't taken body measurements in a while so will do that tomorrow.

ThatJoyousHazelDuck · 01/12/2025 13:16

So lovely to hear all your successes. I am another week down and still stuck at the same. I had an email from my provider over the weekend, the first time they have ever contacted me. I have asked for a call as i only have one more dose left at 5mg. I think i will switch to WG as i don't want to be off medication over Christmas.
