I’ve had a busy work week this week, I haven’t got to my exercise classes and my food choices have been nutritionally poor, I also weigh the same as I did on the 7th. So probably no weight loss for me this week - the first time since I started Mounjaro! I’ve been on 5mg for 5 weeks, I’ve been really hungry yesterday and then this morning which I haven’t had before. I don’t want to increase but I need to order my next pen, not sure what to do. 5mg makes me feel sick for 3 days and then this has tapered off, the suppression has been perfect after that. But this week, once the sick feeling wore off I’m starving. My next jab is due on Sunday.

OneDayIWillLearn · 12/12/2025 09:40

@Ihateslugs good luck for next week!! And well done on keeping it up post MJ - that’s a tremendous loss and I reduction. You must be really feeling the difference.

OneDayIWillLearn · 12/12/2025 09:48

Also enjoying reading people’s updates.

I’ve been feeling reflective this week as it’s my three month MJ anniversary. My weight loss has probably been a bit less than I expected (I’m still not quite at 1.5 stone lost) but the impact of not living with food noise and a ‘bottomless pit’ appetite has been more than I expected. I almost value that more than the weight loss at the moment! It’s such a relief to have the head space and to be free from worrying about food all the time - especially at this time of year. I’ve had various ‘do’s and celebrations and I’d usually be on some kind of rollercoaster of indulgence and guilt. It’s just not there this year. Even when I’ve thought I’m hungry enough and in the mood to let myself go, I’ll get part way through a meal and just feel full and lose interest in going on.

Size-wise, I’m noticing the loss this week too even though the scales are still slow. My jeans are starting to feel quite loose, my bra is feeling too loose. I wore a Christmas jumper that I think of as very small on Wednesday and it fitted fine.

GhostOrchid · 12/12/2025 11:49

Another 1.5lb off for me this week. A little bit disappointed it wasn’t more as I feel like I’ve not eaten much this week, although I was away at the weekend, which included afternoon tea at The Ivy, although I couldn’t eat everything and my sweet tooth is not what it was.

5mg is working well for me and I had good suppression for most of the week. I’m trying to eat when I feel hungry which has meant some very late night snacks, which maybe isn’t ideal.

After 11 jabs:

SW: 109kg
CW: 97.8kg
total weight lost: 11.2kg or 25lbs
My BMI has dropped from 40.6 to 36.4 - so still high, but coming down.
I’ve lost 10% of my starting weight.

Seeing some friends this weekend who haven’t seen me since I started. Be interested to see if they notice.

Hey gang, how's everyone doing? I realised today that it's nearly 3 months since I started my mounjaro journey, I guess it is for all of us?

I'm 3 stone down, which is about half what I want to lose in total. Currently taking 7.5 and sticking with this for now. My loss has slowed to around 3lbs a week, but I think this is ok.

How's everyone else doing?

wodantimbercoaster · 12/12/2025 16:35

3lb off for me this week, which is pleasing. That's a 34lb total loss since I started my adventure on Sept 4th. My BMI is down from 39.7 to 34 something. I am still on 3.75mg and it seems to be continuing to do the job.

I am happy.

namechange0998776554799000 · 12/12/2025 16:45

I'm almost 3 stone down which I'm pleased with, still 6 stone to go though. I did a month on 2.5mg then up to 5mg where I've stayed, planning to carry on like this as long as possible.

I have had some gastro issues which may or may not be related to the MJ so I have a gastroscopy & colonoscopy on Sunday. Fingers crossed all is fine and I can carry on.

Sleetingnow · 12/12/2025 22:32

I've plateaued and not lost anything for 4 weeks - bobbing up and down a couple of lbs each week. Gutted. I don't know whether I should go up to 7.5mg, I was really hoping to be able to stick to 5. Definitely felt hungrier, but Ive been away and so not been as mindful of what I eat, staying within calories, but not having enough protein etc. Was really hoping to hit 3 stone by Christmas but have been stuck on 2 stone 😩

Blimey, 3lb a week is really good, almost too much - only joking, I’m just jealous as my weight loss is much slower! I’m off Mounjaro at the moment due to surgery on Tuesday but as most of you know, Mounjaro and I have had a love/hate relationship so I was thinking what the future was going to be.

I am starting to get a number of compliments about how much weight I have lost which is pleasing, I guess 3st loss is quite noticeable. That 3st has taken me almost 8 months though, half by diet alone and half since starting Mounjaro in September.

I culled my wardrobe very drastically earlier this year, before I began to lose weight, which was a bit foolish as I threw so much away that I could probably wear now! But I have recently word a couple of tops which were brand new but too tight and now they look great. I am off out tomorrow for my only Christmas Party this year, I had to cancel a few others as they are when I will be immobile after my surgery ( knee replacement) and I want to wear a dress. I need to try a few on, I think a couple might be too baggy now but I’m sure I bought at least one which was a bit tight but I kept it anyway. For once I am actually looking forward to trying on things in my wardrobe.

Just got an 8am hospital appointment for some pre op tests to get through first. As I’m struggling to fall asleep right now, I’m thinking I’ll just read and play games on my iPad without fretting, go to the hospital then have a nap when I get home.

I think a few of you are going to have a good Christmas this year showing off your new figures, think of me hobbling around on crutches unable to leave the house!

I’m having the same problem on 5mg now and have just taken my first dose of my second 5mg pen so week 5 for me too. The chocolate cravings and food noise is creeping back. I’ve eaten more the last week. I took my jab this week on Friday instead of today to try and reduce the weekend hunger and see if taking it a day early boosts my levels a bit.
I only want to lose about another 10lb so am trying my best to avoid a dose increase.
If you’re getting some side effects too, I completely get why you wouldn’t want to increase.

I just had a 3 week period of losing nothing and then had a 2lb loss. Hopefully you’ll get a sudden loss soon.
I definitely won’t lose this week as my food choices have been poor. It sounds like a few of us are now struggling with this 5mg dose.

I hope the surgery does well.
Great to hear people are noticing your loss.

Ihateslugs · 13/12/2025 07:28

Not sure I had any sleep at all, I kept thinking of everything I need to do before going into hospital on Tuesday and how I am going to cope on my own after my son goes home on Sunday! Deciding on what food to buy is really hard, I’ve got so used to cooking high protein low calorie meals that I cannot think of any “normal” meals that my son might like to prepare for us! I’ve been told that I probably won’t be very hungry for a few days after the surgery so I might just make sure I’ve got some snacks in like crackers, fruit, soup and sandwich stuff and then let my son go out and do the shopping day by day.

1lb down this week :)
SW: 12st 9
CW: 9st 8

Had my first Christmas party the other night and had quite a few people telling me I looked really slim. Had a few people in work say the same too. 2 people asked if I was on the jab 😅 I said no because I don't want to be judged for it, i've worked very hard these last 3 months with my diet! Crazy how that is everyone's first thought these days, that all weight loss has to be because of the jab!

Pinkbox · 13/12/2025 13:14

I‘m on my second week of 5mg after stalling for 3 weeks and I get strong waves of nausea on and off throughout the day 🫤 which I guess is listed as a common side effect. Lost 3lb last week 🙂 and am 20lb down in 12 weeks.

I have had one person ask outright if I am on the jab and one ask quizzically if I have done it ‚just through dieting‘ which I took to mean the same thing.

I find it funny how many people are going to that as their first question which means they know it’s quite a common thing, but then I still wonder are they saying it judgingly or questioningly?

It feels judgy to me. I think its because they dont actually understand how it works. Majority of people think the jab dissolves your fat or something along those extreme lines 😂 like you can eat whatever you want still and haven't had to make a single lifestyle change 😅

Mum and her partner were here the other day and I could just tell he was dying to ask. My husband looks about half the size he was 3 months ago and I just know he wants to ask. Going to put a portable fridge in the wardrobe over Christmas so they don’t look in a ‘spare’ one while they’re here. No way are we fessing up bc they’re very judgemental and opinionated.

W16 D1 4.25mg
SW 19st 3lbs
CW 15st 7lbs
GW1 15st
GW2 13st
Last week - 2lbs, 51lbs in total.

Steady 2lbs loss again, very pleased with that as I had two Christmas parties with dinners. Because of this plus a few busy days at work I wasn’t able to do my daily walks. I have been more relaxed about food this week as well and had chocolates, mince pies and alcohol. Luckily nothing has upset my stomach but a big piece of cheesecake one evening was bit of a (delicious) challenge 😄

I have had several comments over the last few weeks about my looks, this is from colleagues, friends and extended family: “you have lost lot of weight” , “you look very healthy”, “you look very nice “, “are you on diet” etc. Even though I have tried to prepare for this, it can feel a bit overwhelming.

Kazzaa46 · 13/12/2025 18:28

Just wanted to add a quick comment to say after finding 5mg not as effective the last couple of weeks and taking it on day 6 yesterday so a day early, I have super high suppression today.
I couldn’t even eat half of my dinner just now.

Chopsy123 · 13/12/2025 19:01

@Ihateslugs Goid luck for Tuesday. We’re all cheering you on. 🤞🤞

@SnowWhiteisMyFavourite You’re doing brilliantly well! You’ll be reaching your goal in no time.

I’m 16 weeks on MJ and a loss of 2.5lb this week after the scales hardly moving for the last 4 weeks. That’s a total loss of 2st 1lb from when I started. Still on 3mg from a 5mg pen. No issues with suppression.

BMI at start was 38.3 and now it’s 32.9.

CW:12st 11lbs
GW: anything under 10 stones.
(At 9.5 stone, I’ll be 24.9 BMI and around a size 10)

GhostOrchid · 14/12/2025 00:06

Was at a party this afternoon and saw a good friend I’ve not seen since I started. “You look amazing. Have you lost weight?” - which was pleasing.

outofofficeagain · 14/12/2025 09:54

I have lost 2 lbs this week but I know I haven’t eaten well. I’ve been out a lot and skipping meals etc which doesn’t feel healthy. I have a quieter week this week.

I’m very anxious at the moment and I’m not sure if it’s the time of year, or a side effect but I keep telling myself it’s just the drug. I’ve got beta blockers on prescription but been a bit scared to try them in case they work differently now I’m on MJ. I may try them.

How is everyone’s hair? I keep reading terrible threads about hair thinning at around the 3-4 month mark. This is also making me anxious but mine seems fine at the moment.

I bought the kerastase genesis hair serum that was recommended on here in Black Friday and I think it's working - my hair wasn't shedding a lot before I started using it, but there was quite a bit coming out and now if I run my fingers through my hair none comes out at all. You're supposed to only use it for 6 weeks so I thought I'd give it a go, and if it works then I'd keep it in mind to try again if the shedding gets bad in the future

Unfortunately, even some people using WLIs think that! I know two people who used Mounjaro and lost significant amounts of weight but did not really change their diet nor increase exercise. They lost weight because they did not want to eat as much but still ate things like chips, pizza, burgers, takeaways etc but in smaller quantities. Once they stopped using Mounjaro, the weight piled back on much to their confusion, one friend in particular had no idea why! Her solution was to go back on Mounjaro again with the intention of taking it forever.

I remember trying to explain how WLIs worked and that she needed to eat healthily and in lower quantities to maintain the weight loss but she dismissed what I said because at the time I was not using Mounjaro therefore she thought I did not understand how it worked!
