Evening all,

I do love a Sunday when it’s finally time to feel a bit more happy about food, Jab day tomorrow.
Oh, and I weighed and I’ve lost 3Lbs making 7lbs in 2 weeks,
Today I’ve had:
small bowl of granola with milk for bf
small bag of breadsticks with extra light Philly
and then I cooked a beef roast dinner and I was so looking forward to it but I guess a taste here and there was enough so sadly that was my day over. I get so sickly this time of the day, so back on the water.
Ive had a few very small glasses of red whilst cooking and I really think I just need to give up drinking all together as it only makes me feel yuck. I’m just so used to drinking as sad as it sounds.
I work hard, run a house with hubby and young kids and alcohol is my only treat, I never thought this was going to work so well but it really does work 🤗

Georgelassosthemoon · 05/10/2025 19:33

Checking in.
I have detected a small downward shift on the scales after being stagnant for over 3 weeks. Hurray.
I’m on Wegovy as DD is on it as recommended by her HCP for various reasons and I want to support her plus I’m paying for us both so couldn’t run to MJ.

Went up to 0.5 this week and definitely have noticed a difference.

SoUncertain · 05/10/2025 20:26

Hi @Elliebearblues , can I ask why you're switching to MJ? I was tempted to start on wegovy due to the price difference but decided on MJ as thought if I'm paying for it I want to be on the more efficient one!

Shwighty1 · 05/10/2025 21:37

Place marking too! Hope everyone’s had a good weekend, I’ve had a NSV today, having been nursing a knee ligament injury all month with lots of resting and wearing of a knee brace. Today I managed to do about 5k steps without a knee brace and no knee wobble! And even though I did have treats I stayed in calories too

SoUncertain · 05/10/2025 21:57

Nice one @Shwighty1! I have a dodgy knee after dislocating it on a soft play, and I'm sure my weight didn't help, but I am also finding it much happier now I'm a few kg down and exercising more :)

End of week 4 updates, as I finally braved the golden dose tonight (it was fine). I'm down 7kg, which is a little over a stone! Very pleased with that, especially as MJ has removed the constant food noise that has always marred my previous weight loss attempts. Now it is gone I can finally see how continuous it was.

I think I'm going to stick at 2.5mg for now until it loses efficacy. Still working well for me at the moment :)

Kazzaa46 · 05/10/2025 22:31

Jab 4 just done. Less anxiety today, just some mild panic symptoms afterwards but significantly better than the last 3 so I’m hoping I can get to a point where I don’t dread jab day.
It’s strange as week 1 and 3 there was no liquid on my skin but week 2 and 4 (today) there was a tiny bit of liquid on the skin. I always leave it in at the end for at least 10 seconds while pressing the end, not sure if it’s the priming liquid or just a little leakage.

I’ll be interested if doing this one 2 days early introduces any side effects or increases suppression- I’ll keep you posted.

outofofficeagain · 06/10/2025 08:43

No weightloss this week but not surprised.

I kept on the 2.5 but regretting it as appetite is pretty normal and some snacks creeping in. And DH’s carby sabotage efforts.

I’ve been clear to him this week though that we prioritise protein/low carb or I’ll just sort myself out.

i’m in a dilemma because I am away 24th to 29th.

I should be moving up to 5mg on 27th but don’t want to have side effects while I’m away. So my plan is to delay next week’s dose by 2 days, so then I can move jab day to a Wednesday and take 5mg as soon as I get back.

Will just have to use willpower to get me through next few weeks.

priorities this week —water, fibre, strength training

great work everyone

I tend to blot the priming liquid away from the pen before using for the jab because I do think it would be on your skin otherwise, which would worry me 😅

Injection day for me! I think I'm going to plough ahead with my 5 jab, rather than golden dosing the 2.5 as I've been much hungrier the last three days and I've had a smaller loss this week.

I'm finding the ordering tricky, medexpress are already prompting me to order, but I don't know if I will want to stay on 5 or move up yet.

Good luck , I don’t blame you not wanting to move up to 5 when your jab is due if your going away last thing you want is side effects xx

Yes if you’re hungry I’d definitely move up to 5. Good luck x

Kazzaa46 · 06/10/2025 12:12

@Stompythedinosaur I agree to move to 5. I won’t be golden dosing my 2.5 for the same reason.

I have better suppression today, doing the last 2.5 two days early has made quite a difference and I can feel I’ve had it, where as jab 3 I wondered if I’d injected water by accident 😆

Stompythedinosaur · 06/10/2025 13:10

Thanks all! I've done the jab, hoping to get back to the lovely "just not thinking about food so much" state I've had all month!

OneDayIWillLearn · 06/10/2025 13:25

Jab 5 today, golden-dosed it and used everything that was left in the pen, which was more like 0.8ml than 0.6ml so hoping I might get a bit more suppression before moving up to 5mg next week.

I used the Fat Old Climber video others have mentioned and I agree it was very easy.

Weigh in today wasn’t a huge success, 13 stone 2.5lbs today down from 13 stone 2.75lbs last week. So a measly 1/4 lb off, though I’m not altogether surprised as I wasn’t particularly on track at the weekend. I suppose it’s still the right direction at least!

So at the 4 weeks done mark I’m basically 8lbs down, which is about right I suppose.

My first target was to get back in the 12s which I hoped might happen today but the wait continues! When I’m back in the 12s is also when my BMI drops below 30.

Small NSV was being able to wear an underwired bra all day yesterday without it being uncomfortable at all. I haven’t been able to wear that bra for more than a few hours since this spring due to it getting too tight so that’s nice anyway.

My provider advised me to reorder when I've taken the 3rd dose from.the pen.

Is yours asking you to order early?

MoreIcedLattePlease · 06/10/2025 17:04

@SnowWhiteisMyFavourite

I think I've noticed changes - I definitely did when I put on a pair of work trousers today for the first time in a couple of weeks! They were embarrassingly big so I think they'll have to go on the donation pile already! I don't see anything in my face, but I think the (ever so attractive) spare tire around my neck has decreased somewhat.

I'm really hungry and emotional today. I'm due on in a couple of days though, so hopefully it's just that making me feel a bit off.

In terms of scales, I'm using the ones Juniper sent. I've found them to match up to the set of scales my Mum has, so assume they're accurate enough. I will hop on the machine at the gym every few weeks too though, to track body composition. (I know the Juniper ones can do it, but the AFit app changes them from St to Kg and I cba with changing back every time).

Just as a suggestion....you could try split dosing your 5mg dose into two 2.5mg doses 3 or 4 days apart. I have seen lots of stuff from other MJ users on you tube who do this after suffering side effects when moving up to 5mg. I'm thinking of doing this if/when I move up to 5mg. Apparently split dosing is much kinder to people in terms of side effects. You still end up with the positive effects of a 5mg dose, but you don't have the 'shock' to your system of taking the 5mg all at once. I'm considering doing that, or possibly moving to 3.75mg instead of straight to 5mg. I'm undecided which path to follow at the moment.

I did think about doing that with my last two 2.5 doses. So a pen would last 3 weeks, then move onto 5mg pen.

I am easily confused by the options though, and anxious about doing things not prescribed.

I might see how I feel on Thursday, and possibly take another dose, which means I can start my 5mg pen early if no side effects from upping dose mid-week.

Hi all. 1lb down for me this week. The slow progress continues! However, I think this okay considering I used the golden dose of about 3mg last week (after moving up to 5mg the week before. Unsurprisingly, this had pretty much zero effect, so I have jabbed a little earlier this week to take me back to my original injection day of a Monday. Will see how I get on with the rest of the 5mg pen. I am still trying to decide if the expense is worth it!

UnimaginableWindBird · 06/10/2025 18:36

I had my first personal trainer session today so that I can learn to lift weights properly. She's starting me on light weights for the first few weeks while I improve my form, so I'm not suffering too much right now. It feels good to be prioritising my health after years of having my own wellbeing pretty much at the bottom of my list.

Whichwitchwould · 06/10/2025 21:30

Ah new thread! I missed a few pages there! Approaching the end of W6 now and hit the 1 stone mark this morning.

Really not sure whether to move up to 5mg (or 3.75mg) or to stick with 2.5mg for another month. My losses have been

W1 -5.25lb
W2 -1.75lb
W3 -3.75lb
W4 -0lb
W5 -2.75lb
W6 -0.5lb

Some really good weeks there but feels up and down. At the same time, i am getting good suppression (I think 🤔. I dont often feel hungry) so im not sure what there is to be gained by titrating up? I think it'd potentially just push me into too big of a deficit and maybe I should just wait until I stop losing altogether before deciding. I totally get that 14lbs I 6 weeks is amazing and over 2lbs a week so maybe i'm just being impatient?

Im gonna focus on hydration and steps i think

Kazzaa46 · 06/10/2025 21:58

@UnimaginableWindBird sounds great about the weights. Don’t panic if you gain a bit of weight initially, if I change my workout or weight routine I often gain a few pounds (apparently to do with inflammation in muscles and holding more water) but it always drops off after a week or two.

@Whichwitchwould well done losing a stone 🥳If you still have suppression I’d stick with 2.5mg for now. If you start getting hungry or not losing, move up then. I really wanted to stay on 2.5 but didn’t expect it to start losing effectiveness at week 3 but our bodies all process it differently I guess.

I enjoy that strong feeling from lifting weights, last month I got back into it after the summer holidays where I didn’t go at all. Started slowly with on session a week because the DOMS were a killer. Hoping to do 2 sessions this week 💪🏼

I think 14lb in 6 weeks is fantastic. I would say if your still getting suppression and your are still losing then I wouldn’t be to hasty to move up a dose. Focus on steps and hydration like you said .. you don’t want to lose to quickly either . Anyway I think you’re smashing it. I did my first MJ dose yesterday after being on Wegovy for 4 weeks. I did lose more or less half a stone on Wegovy but didn’t have great side effects and the suppression wore off after week 2. Hopefully my MJ journey will better x

lulu1921 · 07/10/2025 06:49

Good morning all,

I’ve been reading about the golden dose and literally yesterday had an email saying that the price has gone up (med express)

so I feel getting the best value for money is definitely worth it,

can someone help me with what I need to purchase, preferably from Amazon?

thanks 😊
