No loss this week. It’s been a very rubbish month with only 3lbs lost for the entire month. 😩

On the plus side, I was supermarket shopping with DH yesterday and he was walking down the aisle towards me and said my face and neck looked noticeably thinner. 😁

outofofficeagain · 06/12/2025 09:08

My friends both commented on my weight loss last night. I didn’t mention the jabs just said I’d stopped drinking and eating crap. Felt a bit dishonest but is technically true.

I asked CHAT GPT to compare a photo to me today with one back in September.

Face Shape

First Photo

  • The face appears slightly fuller overall, especially around the cheeks and jawline.
  • The jawline looks a little softer and less defined.
  • The cheeks seem to have a bit more volume.

Second Photo

  • The face looks a bit more tapered, especially through the lower cheeks and jaw.
  • The jawline appears slightly more defined.
  • Overall impression is a slimmer facial outline, even though the photos are taken in similar angles.

Skin Texture

First Photo

  • Skin texture appears a little rougher or more matte, particularly around the cheeks and forehead.
  • There’s slightly more visible redness in the cheeks.
  • Under-eye area looks a bit puffier.

Second Photo

  • Skin texture appears smoother and more even.
  • Redness looks reduced, giving a more uniform complexion.
  • Under-eye area looks less puffy, with a smoother transition.

Overall Comparison

  • The second photo gives the impression of a slightly slimmer and more defined face shape.
  • Skin texture in the second photo appears smoother and more even-toned.
  • These differences are subtle but visible when the images are compared side by side.

It’s been a funny month for me loss-wise. On the scales this morning I am 12 stone 3.5lbs, down from a starting weight of 13 stone 10lbs in early September. Exactly 4 weeks ago I was 12 stone 9 1/4, so that would be nearly 6lbs off in 4 weeks, which I am very happy with! But on Tuesday I weighed in at 12 stone 8.5lbs, and I’ve spent a lot of this month hovering around the 12 stone 7-9lb range so I was a bit shocked this morning. Why I’ve suddenly dropped down is a bit of a mystery to me. Possibly period related? Possibly because I have started running 25 mins every day since last Sunday and my tired muscles were hanging onto some water which they’ve now surrendered? possibly the scales need recalibrating? No idea! Our bodies are a bit of a mystery sometimes. But I am trying to be contented that the trend is downwards and that is more important than the precise number on any given day…..

I think I’m going to stick to 3.75mg until after Christmas now. My week on 5mg felt a bit strong and I’ve done fine this week back on 3.75mg. Extra exercise feels very positive and will help I hope too - I’m going to try to run every day of December again, it’s a challenge I did in 2023 and 2024 and the impact on my mental health was really positive so here goes again!

Buzzing to see this this morning 🤩🙌

2lb loss = 3 stone down.
I'm so proud of myself 🥹 First target reached. Healthy BMI finally acquired 😅

@JustPickleRick that’s amazing, congratulations! You must be the first person on this thread to reach a healthy BMI I think? What a fantastic achievement. I haven’t had a healthy BMI since 2020 (and then it was only for about a week!) and before that it was 2015 - but I remember so clearly the feeling of relief.

Kazzaa46 · 06/12/2025 16:07

@Chopsy123 3lb is still in the right direction and I’m sure it will pick up again. I have maintained the last 2.5 weeks so know how disheartening it is.

@outofofficeagain that’s great news people are commenting! I saw some people last week I’d not seen in a couple of months who commented on my loss although I got the inevitable- you don’t need to lose anymore, are you on the skinny jab etc

@OneDayIWillLearn congratulations on your loss, that’s amazing! You do right sticking to 3.75 as long as possible as I know from experience last week that after a few weeks on 5mg, 3.75 no longer worked for me so not moving up too quickly is definitely the best choice.

@JustPickleRick congratulations on getting to a healthy BMI!

JustPickleRick · 06/12/2025 17:43

Thank you so much everyone, I can only share about my weightloss with a couple of people in real life so it's really nice to be able to come on here and chat. We're all doing so well, from all of us feeling nervous at the start, to questioning whether it was working in the first few weeks 😅 glad we have this platform to vent on.

I had another victory today... my size 12 asos jeans that I bought a few weeks ago for cheap on vinted are now too big! Sooooo I treated myself to a brand new pair of River Island jeans today when I went shopping and the size 10 fit perfectly 🤯 madness.

Keep going everyone, we've all come so far 🥹

maz99 · 06/12/2025 21:09

Hi... meant to post this on Thursday but must've forgot...

So... Thursday was jab day - no weight loss, an increase of 0.3kg / 0.7lbs

It's probably because my water drinking hasn't been as good during the week, and my sleep has been all over the place.

I'm still on 5mg (5th dose) which I take from a 7.5mg pen.
I still can go long between meal times (maybe too long - 7 to 10 hours), but I'm starting to have the urge to snack.

Last weekend I ordered a 12.5mg pen from Bolt (to take advantage of Black Friday prices), this was 2 weeks after I had ordered a 10mg pen from Pharmacy2U.

A couple of days after I received my order Bolt sent an email asking me to let them know when I will be taking my first dose so they could align my treatment plan and future refills - "... let us know when your first dose with us will be, and we'll build your schedule around the correct starting point."

This is quite a first... I don't know what date to set it to because if I stay on 5mg I won't finish the 7.5mg and 10mg pens until 26/03/25

My exercise is going well - I tried Fitness Rebounding fitness class for the first time 2 weeks ago, it's great cardio but tough for me because I do it straight straight after a Power Pump (weights) class. Today I tried another new class - Kettlebells, and it was really good...!

So, my week will now be Power Pump twice a week, Fitness Rebounding, Aqua Aerobics and Kettlebells

I remembered what I meant to come on here to say this morning! I still have over a stone to go before I’m at healthy BMI but I had a few NSVs this week:

  • The fat on my back sits smooth now rather than folding into a crease
  • We went out for a meal for my son’s birthday today and had one of those awful ‘at a meal’ photos - I was nearest the camera and just thought, I’m going to hate that photo - side double chin, big fat belly etc etc. To be honest it wasn’t a great photo BUT I didn’t hate it and I didn’t even really have the fat roll/ side chin!
  • I’ve just completed a 7 day running streak and I’m holding up pretty well.
Bigbus · 07/12/2025 09:04

Some people mentioned that not many people have commented on their weight loss. I have noticed this too. When I lost weight in the past, people often commented, especially after 2 stone gone, but this time not at all. I think it’s because they probably assume I’m on the injections and so don’t want to mention it? What are other people’s experiences?

I'm not sure if it's people being polite. Some people might find it rude to point out weightloss. I have a person I work with who has lost a lot of weight and I want to say something but i've been holding back as I don't want to be rude! If I knew they were on a diet, I would say something but I guess if I don't know, I don't want to offend them. Like they could have been ill and lost the weight from that. Can you tell I overthink things alot? 😂

Bigbus · 07/12/2025 10:00

@JustPickleRick generally I agree about being polite but these are people with lots of form for commenting on my weight 😂!

I think it’s because they probably assume I’m on the injections and so don’t want to mention it? What are other people’s experiences?

Last year I lost weight without WLI and went from 13 stone 7lbs to 12 stone 2lbs over about 6 months and no one commented or said they noticed.

Unfortunately I put it all back on again this year between March and August (stressful period following a big house/ job move and then a summer of travelling abroad for work), and now have gone from 13 stone 10lbs to 12 stone 4lbs - ditto, no one has commented.

What I have noticed from my many previous weight loss experiences is that I generally get comments somewhere between 12 and 11 stone (11 stone is the very top of healthy BMI for me) - I think that seems to be when most weight comes off my face so perhaps that’s what triggers people to think ‘something’s different here’. Certainly plenty of people have not been afraid to comment in the past! So either there’s a bit of a shift and more people consider it rude to comment on weight now or they just genuinely haven’t noticed yet.

SoUncertain · 07/12/2025 18:43

I think it's because opinions have shifted a bit, and congratulating someone's weight loss is avoided because people don't want to seem like they are saying "you were fat before".

Also perhaps because many of us haven't lost quite the amount yet to reach that stage. People commented on my previous weight loss at around the 3 stone mark, which I'm not yet at with WLIs. Of course it depends on your starting weight.

maz99 · 07/12/2025 21:30

I think the amount (number) on the scale isn't the most important thing when it comes to people noticing weight loss.

It depends more on how the shape of your body changes - where the inches are lost.
If they're not lost in a noticeable area, then people wouldn't be able to tell.

My 2 friends have told me that they can see I've lost weight which was back when I had lost a stone - probably because I had lost a lot of inches on my stomach

familyornot · 07/12/2025 22:50

I went on a health kick about 18months ago, I lost 2 stone and lots of people commented. I was talking about the fitness classes I went to and healthy eating so it became acceptable for people to ask how I was getting on. I gained a stone back once I couldn’t keep up the regime I’d got myself into, after hurting myself. I’ve not lost more than previously and no one has even made a whisper. It could be them being polite or it could be that everyone has guessed I’m on Mounjaro and it becomes the elephant in the room (quite an apt comparison there!).

The people who know I’m on Mounjaro have told me I look very different recently,

familyornot · 07/12/2025 23:00

I wonder if some people are put off commenting by how often I’ve lost and regained weight in the past - when I first lost a lot (in my twenties) I got comments all the time as I suspect people all thought it would stay off for good. They’ve now seen me regain it and try to lose it multiple times since, I’m embarrassed to say, and they have probably - very fairly! - got the idea I’m not someone whose weight loss efforts stick!

SoUncertain · 08/12/2025 09:48

SoUncertain · 02/12/2025 10:26

@maz99 The model does look bigger but you lost inches so I'd ignore that! I am terrible at measuring and never get the same answer twice. I would just judge it by your clothes and weight.

@OneDayIWillLearn your plan sounds sensible to me! You basically took 5mg (5.5mg, but a few days apart so one dose was starting to decrease while the other rose in your body).

I'm feeling good on 5mg this week. Lost the food noise from last week - what a relief!

Also I was looking at photos of me from earlier in the year, and my goodness, my face looks so different already! I had such a lot of flab around my chin and neck. Still have some of course, but it's going down!

I am at 119.5kg this week. In 12 weeks on MJ I have lost 12.1kg or 26.7lbs.

End of week 13! I've lost exactly 2 stone (12.7kg) 🎉I still have a long way to go, but I'm so glad I chose to start this treatment.

SW: 131.6kg
CW: 118.9kg

My BMI is now under 40 ❤️

SoUncertain · 09/12/2025 08:14

5mg is working really well for me. Went out for dinner last night and had to leave 1/3 of my meal. My friends didn't say anything about WLIs, but perhaps wondered.

Ihateslugs · 09/12/2025 08:37

Well, I’m now no longer using Mounjaro, my last jab was just over 2 weeks ago. I stopped because I’m having knee replacement surgery next week ( eeeek!) and was told to stop at least two weeks before. As some of you will remember I had awful side effects after every jab, I lost two days a week through diarrhea for the 12 weeks I took it so was considering changing to a different WL products anyway or just stopping.

I have continued my diet anyway, I’d lost about 22lb before I started taking Mounjaro so I’ve just carried on eating healthily, aiming for high protein meals within my calorie limits. It has been a bit harder to resist eating snacks than it was when using Mounjaro but I’ve used will power to ignore the temptations really well and have lost another 3.8lb since stopping. That makes my total loss 44.5 lbs or 3.17st. My BMI has gone down from 44.7 to 37.6 which pleased the consultant I saw.

What’s been interesting is that I have not been tempted to open the bottle of gin I was given in October, I’m still no longer drinking alcohol other than once night a month at a social event!

So although I was not a fan of Mounjaro, I realise now that it was doing a good job at suppressing my appetite so I might reconsider and try a different product after my surgery. My appetite is still low though and I am eating a lot less at each meal which is good.

Kazzaa46 · 10/12/2025 18:31

After a 3 week plateau I’ve lost 2lb. During that time, I was on a UK holiday and working away and ate several 3 course meals, had some alcohol etc so it probably wasn’t a plateau but a win to not gain and then to lose 2lb.

A little NSV is a winter skin condition that normally appears by early November every year has not happened this year!

I’ve felt more hungry this week. I am hoping it’s just because I’m due on as I really want to remain on 5mg for the rest of my journey now.

1.5kg / 3.3lbs lost this week
I think my sleep has been better and I'm making more of an effort with drinking water. I did have a spontaneous drink night out after my Power Pump class on Monday... with my instructor! We stuck to Prosecco and some nibbles.

I realised this week that 5mg is working for me, even though I really feel hungry sometimes. For example, last night I felt like I could eat a horse and I piled my plate high with the chicken chow mein / stir fry I cooked. I could only eat half of it. Also, on Saturday I went 10 hours without eating anything... I just didn't notice.

Love reading all of the updates from the past few days. It’s amazing how far everyone has come!
1.2kg (2.5 pounds) loss for me this week. Still on 3.75mg and feeling a lot of suppression. Sleep has improved a bit with addition of a magnesium supplement that also is working for constipation.
I haven’t eaten well again, nor have I had nearly as much water as I should have. I have been pretty distracted and busy though, since deciding to paint a wall in my kitchen whilst walking the dog on Saturday. That’s turned into a wall plus two rooms and my son has been the only one who has had proper food since then.

SW 86.5kg
CW 73.5kg
