Thanks @outofofficeagain!

@outofofficeagain watch out for pizza... I've seen a lot of people in the Mounjaro Facebook report bad reactions to eating pizza... various brands

JustPickleRick · 04/10/2025 20:56

Wow, 2nd thread already, that month has flown by!
I've had a mcdonalds fajita wrap for dinner tonight, less than 500 calories and its not given me a bad tummy 🥳

outofofficeagain · 04/10/2025 22:05

It was a waitrose sourdough pizza and I ate about half. Fingers crossed there are no ill effects!

Ah just came accross your thread!! I’m in the May starters thread and it’s been such a huge support!! Good luck to you all near the start!! It’s quite a journey!! I’m about half way now, 4 st down with about the same to go!! Good luck & bon voyage to you all!!!

Somethingsnapped · 04/10/2025 22:17

Thank you for the new thread!

I will weigh myself after the weekend, after three weeks of not stepping on the scales. I hope it's encouraging!

wodantimbercoaster · 04/10/2025 22:24

Thanks for the new thread.

I took my 5th dose (extracted golden dose with a syringe, was more simple than I expected) on Thursday evening and weighed in on Friday morning as usual. Another 2lb gone, so that's now a total 15lb in 4 weeks, which is very pleasing.

Oddly, I've found the suppression lasted longer last week. On my previous weeks, hunger pangs were creeping in on days 5, 6 and 7. But last week I pretty much had none. I'm still planning to stick to 2.5mg for now, so will just do 30 clicks from my new 5mg pen next Thursday.

I have been regularly attending the gym and using the weight machines, at least 3 to 4 times a week and my clothes are definitely looser. I had to bring out my size 18 jeans from the archive last week and I hope I never have to wear size 20 jeans ever again!

Pleased to see a new thread. I like to read all your posts.
Do you all avoid alcohol?
I had a glass of wine last night and had a bad night with little sleep. Could there be a connection?

SoUncertain · 04/10/2025 23:26

Congratulations @Seahorsesplendour , that's amazing! It's nice to have earlier starters pop in sometimes to let us know how they're doing further down the line :)

I haven't had any alcohol @zacsGranny, but people were talking about G and Ts on the last thread. It could be the wine or something else. Maybe the storm?

Well done for dropping a dress size already @wodantimbercoaster! I can see a bit of a difference and clothes are starting to fit better, which is really nice. I can also see a tiny amount of cheek bone now, which I was quite surprised to notice!

Good luck @Somethingsnapped! Let us know how you get on :)

I'm going to brave the golden dose tomorrow. Will update with week 4 weight loss!

familyornot · 05/10/2025 00:42

I’m just finishing week 2, week 3 starts tomorrow - I’m amazed at the results so far but I think my loss will be slow (I know this is healthier etc but I’m impatient). The suppression this week has been great, I’ve been a bit hungry today but that’s the first time. As it’s the first time, I’ve been able to use willpower, this never lasts with me though hence the need for MJ.
No nasty side effects as yet, heart burn in week one and a weird temperature (burning face on a night?) but nothing in week 2.

9lbs down (6lbs week 1 and 3 this week) and optimistic about the coming week.

Sleetingnow · 05/10/2025 08:33

I've rounded off month 1 by losing 13 lb. I thought I might make the stone, but didn't lose any this week. I definitely felt hungry this week too! I had ordered some syringes to take the golden dose but they haven't arrived yet, so wondering if to crack on with my 5mg pen I have. Does it matter do you know if you're a day late with jabbing?

Bigbus · 05/10/2025 09:12

Good morning all

I started at the end of August so have found this thread to be really helpful. I’ve been reading with interest what people said about the effect on their periods. The first time I took the injection I had a 19 day period - really heavy! I think it must have some connection specifically to the injection as I’ve lost weight before quite quickly and never had this, although I am 48 so other things will be at play too. It’s all back to normal now so it was just that first one.

regarding alcohol - I used to be quite a big drinker, especially end of the week/weekends. Since starting MJ if I drink more than a small amount of wine it really increases the nausea. Nausea is my main side effect. Two glasses of wine and I’ll actually wake up in the night feeling terrible - used to be able to drink a bottle of wine with no issues! I thought I’d miss it but I don’t. Interesting I can have a beer and feel less nauseous. I heard someone on a podcast say there is some anecdotal evidence that MJ reduces all compulsive behaviours including drinking and gambling, which is interesting.

I went up to 5mg after 4 weeks because I could definitely tell that the effect of 2.5 was wearing off. I’m sticking at 5 for two months because of the nausea. Hoping it will ameliorate with time.

So far I have lost 21lbs in just over 6 weeks. I’m really pleased with that and hoping that I can continue on the 5mg for a while but will go up to 7.5mg if it starts to wear off.

SW 15st 1lb
CW 13st 8lb
GW1 11st 13lbs - thinking I might aim lower but I want it to be sustainable

OneDayIWillLearn · 05/10/2025 10:04

Happy month 2 everyone!

Jab 5 tomorrow, going to try the golden dose. I actually had dream about doing it last night, I think I’m a bit nervous about this next stage, and going up to 5mg. Feels a bit ‘back into the unknown’!

Kazzaa46 · 05/10/2025 10:38

@absolutelyclueless just read on thread 1 about you having little suppression since jab 3, I’m exactly the same!

So yesterday was my first bump in the road, I’ve successfully stayed under 1200 cals a day but yesterday I ate at least 2000 and it was very bread heavy. I’m disappointed in myself but will reign it back in today. I’m going to do my 4th 2.5mg today which is 2 days early (the guidance from the pharmacy I buy it from is up to 3 days early is ok)

I’m hoping a couple of days early may help as there will be more in my body and it also means I can start 5mg in a week to hopefully get the suppression back

I pretty much gave up drinking last March, before I began my diet and before I began to use WLI - just had 4th jab. I just decided that as I’d finished my gin based Christmas presents, I was not going to buy any more, I was possibly drinking too much when I drank at home! So starting on WLI has had no impact as I’m still not drinking alcohol other than a monthly gin club meeting that I enjoy too much to miss ( mainly for social reasons) although I missed the last one so don’t know if I will have a reaction now I’m using Mounjaro. I hope not!

Im still having reactions to the jabs, diarrhoea after first two, now it’s constipation! But not so bad this week as last week as I took the advice of the pharmacist where I buy my Mounjaro and have been eating plenty of kiwi fruit, apples, raw carrots and popcorn. I’ve just put flaxseed and prunes on my online grocery order to hopefully help next week when I start 5mg doses.

I did similar. Mine wasn't bread - all healthy stuff, but my intake bumped up to 1750 which is well up on my usual 1300-ish. I've also lost any deficit I'd normally have from exercise - haven't been doing any as I have a nasty bug at present.

I try to look at my general trends and averages, which Nutra Check does and gives a more realistic and accurate picture. I've just glanced at mine and seen I'm still struggling to get enough fibre in my diet.

I still drink - couple of glasses of wine or two light beers - but l carefully measure, regulate and limit my intake to this. I do try and keep empty calories to a minimum, so this is my one deviation from that.

Anything I know I can't eat in moderation also has to go, at least for now.

Stompythedinosaur · 05/10/2025 12:03

Hey! I'm just checking in! Thanks for the new thread!

Kazzaa46 · 05/10/2025 12:35

@SerafinasGoose sounds like you’re doing so well and forward planning! Hope that nasty bug clears.

@Bigbus nice to hear about your journey so far. Did you get nausea on 2.5mg or was it only when you moved up to 5mg?

outofofficeagain · 05/10/2025 13:02

Can anyone talk to me about scales?

i have old scales that just do weight. I think they do body fat too if I set them up properly, but I’m tempted to get new ones.

Are there ones that aren’t too expensive but worth it? I don’t have a tape measure either!

Afternoon everyone. Just place marking on the shiny new thread. ☺️

I’m still struggling to eat enough fibre (and protein) so will have other look at some alternative meal ideas. Are there any good online resources you’d recommend? I do enjoy watching Jamie Oliver YouTube videos. 😁

I've got Renpho scales that are usb chargeable (approx £30) which works with an app that displays all the stats.
I also have their measuring tape which also connects to the app... I couldn't get on with it because it's not as wide as my standard tape measure.

Hi all, I actually started in September on Wegovy but as of tomorrow I’m swapping to Mounjaro. Has anyone else swapped? If so how have you found it.
so far I’ve lost nearly 7lbs on Wegovy, hoping for a bit more on Mounjaro x

Pinkbox · 05/10/2025 15:27

Hit a 10lb loss on my day 17 yesterday which I got very excited about! I weigh myself about three times a week so that was the middle weigh-in. Wondering if the last 4lb of a stone will come off before the end of my first month. I am mostly sticking to 1200 cals and only gone over a couple of times.

I have noticed white wine and gin don’t taste right anymore. Dry wine tastes too sweet! Bit sad about my wine but obviously it will help with weight loss. Last night I had a glass of red and that went down OK but must watch the empty calories.

This week three I had no side effects after the third jab which is nice and my bowels seem slightly looser, yay.

My extra kit has arrived for the golden dose and my new pen also. Planning to stick to 2.5 if possible. Unfortunately I have found that only Asda will prescribe to me due to a history of thyroid cancer. It’s not the type which is proscribed in the literature but nobody else can differentiate between the two in their questionnaires (even when I made direct contact) so I am finding it annoyingly pricey when I can see other pharmacies are £60 cheaper.

I also have the Renpho scales mentioned above. They're great and were less than £30. The app makes a happy little noise if I lose weight 😅 also shows other info (not sure how accurate it is) and compares to previous weigh ins. A few weeks ago, my numbers were mostly yellow and red so I can see improvements in the green numbers 😁
I got mine from Argos
