Bit premature but planning on starting with Mounjaro in next week or so.

I’ve struggled with my weight for the majority of my life and despite having periods of being within the realms of ‘healthy’ weights, these have been difficult to get to and v hard to maintain. I’m now keen to sort things out, once and for all before I’m 40. (Given myself a buffer as currently 36…) 😅

Does anyone have any advice for someone just starting to have a look at this? How do you pick which drug or which company to go with?

Hi, I did my first jab Monday evening and with each day I feel the suppression more. Today I had a bowl of porridge with some blueberries about 10am and only now I started to feel slightly hungry. I’m not looking for snacks so far so good and smaller portions are filling me up. Let me know how you get on x

That's good to know! Weirdly now just 7 hours in but feel raveneous like the usual can eat pizza chocolate and lots of wine vibe 😩 I know it's early but I guess always scared it won't work for me xx how long until you felt any suppression?

I went with superdrug mainly because I know they'd be very safe. They were great and it arrived quickly x

The suppression has built up over the week, I jabbed Monday evening and Tue I didn’t really feel much difference and thought did I actually have the jab … I know I did if you know what I mean. Wednesday was a bit more suppression and even more today so I think it’ll just build up day by day.. someone showed me this graph which is helpful showing how the suppression builds up with more does x

I went with CheqUp. They seemed to be the cheapest, plus I got £50 off with a referral code. If you decide to go with them, let me know, I can get one for you.

I applied on the sunday and had the medication by Wednesday.

SilenceInside · 09/10/2025 18:14

@Clumsykitten have a look at price comparison sites like https://monj.co.uk where you can see who is currently cheapest for the initial dose level. Bear in mind that discounts tend to be for new customers only. All the pharmacies listed are GPhC registered and therefore inspected and regulated.

Elliebearblues · 09/10/2025 19:10

@Clumsykitten I went with MedExpress due to being recommended them by a nurse. I do have a code for £40 off first order if you want if, just PM me. Hope you manage to get a good deal. Good luck x

Hello, just checking in as my anxiety has gone through the roof the last two hours (took my first dose just 9 hours ago) heart beating fast and kind of feel super on edge. just checking if has happened to anyone else? Thanks

narcASD · 09/10/2025 20:50

@jaelato1I've never really felt the suppression but I guess it’s working as I’m losing weight!

maybe it’s psychological as I’m so used to thinking about food all the time that is why I’m tricked into thinking it’s not working, but is is, (not sure if that makes sense)

@Sunshinesally77 I am similar in that I took one jab and expected to lose 5st overnight 🤣 people I know who’ve lost a lot of weight have done so over 3-4 months or longer, we just need to keep going.

well done @Shitzngiggles @Nandina great weight loses

i never used to eat breakfast but now having 2 weetabix and a banana and find that’s it’s helping with keeping things moving. @Calyx72I am with you on the texture of chai s as md husk, soaked its like frog spawn so I gave up with trying to like it.

narcASD · 09/10/2025 20:52

@Sunshinesally77i haven’t experienced this, although there is a thread about this that I saw just now in active.

jaelato1 · 09/10/2025 21:04

@Sunshinesally77 Anxiety is a known symptom for mounjaro. Check out below thread

It’s really strange you say that. I feel like my heart is racing particularly when I’m relaxing or in bed, in the mornings I feel quite anxious (more than normal), but it does pass throughout the day.

This is exactly what I’ve been feeling like, I actually did a separate post on it to see if anyone else felt the same, it comes and goes. I can be just sitting down and feel anxious and on edge for no reason and then obviously you worry and heart beat goes faster. A few people have felt this way at first and say it’s because the medication is so new to your body, it’s like a fight it flight response and most peoples have gotten better the longer their on the weight loss drugs and your body settles down. I’m here if you want to chat as I’ve been going through the exactly same thing and it’s blooming frightening especially when you’ve never had it before. Hope it settles down and you feel better soon x

Clumsykitten · 09/10/2025 23:47

Thank you for the reassurance about companies and for the comparison link @SilenceInside

I guess I’m also just wondering which of the drugs would be better for me too, and I’ve not had to make this kind of decision without a doctor before!

Apologies side effects not symptom

cheekysausage123 · 10/10/2025 07:47

@SilenceInside when you apply for weight loss medications on the sites listed on Monj, your prescription needs to be reviewed etc by a prescriber before they will send the medication to you anyway so you have a sort of basic assessment as part and parcel of it.

If you’re unsure, some services offer coaching and medical advice re. Which type may be best for you as part of their package along with prescribing the meds themselves, I believe - no personal experience of this though.

Whoever recommended savoury breakfasts, think it was maybe @Moosey898 thank you! Had a protein bagel with ham and rocket this am and feel sufficiently full up. My 3 year old kept saying ‘that’s not breakfast food!’ 😂😂

Hi yes it comes and goes, I was so worried as one morning I woke at 4am heart pounding felt dizzy and sick, then the heart beating fast felt like most of the day it was horrible, then next day the heart pounding came back for a short while but not as bad so I made a GP appt as it was so frightening and they said their not sure why … I’m having an ECG to rule anything out but they assured me I they don’t think it’s my heart and the ECG is just precautionary.

it has got so much better now I know that others are experiencing it too and yesterday I think I had only 1 anxiety episode as to 4 the day before. I definitely think it’s the medication as it wasn’t like that before and like you say comes and goes. Mainly when I’m having quiet time xx

Yes I am trying not to worry too much as there’s a lot going on in our bodies with the medication and I really want to give it a proper go ☺️ but here when you want to chat about it- when did you take your first one? I have also had insane nightmares!! Which is rare but I figure it’s a strong medication so it’s going to shake everything up to start with xx

Moosey898 · 10/10/2025 08:46

@SilenceInside yay glad you enjoyed the savoury breakfast! 😁

whensmynexthol1day · 10/10/2025 09:53

Hi everyone. I’m taking my first jab today. I’m 70kg and want to be 56kg. Over the last 20 years I’ve managed to get to 59/60 kg several times but always put it back on again. I managed to go to 64 and back up to 70 again in 4 months this year! I’m a bit all or nothing - can be really strict for ages but as soon as I reach a goal (typically for a holiday) I start to feel like I can eat anything I like and go a bit mad!
so determined to change this cycle. May mean I’m on some sort of dose for life- but let’s see!
im not getting my jab until 5pm tonight which is annoying. Can I gradually over time bring that time forwards so that I am eventually taking in the morning? Friday evenings are always super hectic

Juststarting12 · 10/10/2025 09:54

I’ve just taken my first jab, I was shaking like a leaf but it really was painless. I do tend to get myself worked up over things and think ahead to the following hours / days and possible side effects 🙈
@BlueFeverI am doing the same as you, use this for 2-3 months, have a break (I think they say 8 weeks?) and then start TTC. Wishing you lots of luck

SilenceInside · 10/10/2025 09:54

Ah sorry @SilenceInside yes, my post was aimed at @Clumsykitten and think @Moosey898’s was for me!
