Bit premature but planning on starting with Mounjaro in next week or so.

I’ve struggled with my weight for the majority of my life and despite having periods of being within the realms of ‘healthy’ weights, these have been difficult to get to and v hard to maintain. I’m now keen to sort things out, once and for all before I’m 40. (Given myself a buffer as currently 36…) 😅

SW: 14st 7lb
1st GW: 13st

Here for support, tips and anything else helpful along the way. 🫣

Some great losses, well done everyone. I've lost 1st 2 lbs in the almost 6 weeks I've been on it. Consistently losing 2lbs a week now which I'm happy with.

How's the side effects for everyone? I had been doing ok getting away with only minimal side effects. However last night I was sick after feeling extremely tired all day. I've been on 5mg for 2 and a half weeks. Just hoping it's only a temporary blip because I had been feeling great.

narcASD · 09/11/2025 10:18

@cheekysausage123 thank you, oh I used to love playing netball at school!
we eat pretty similar and I’ve made the soup you gave the recipe for, very nice, I’ll have to make more at the kids even enjoyed it.
@Shitzngigglesthats a great weight loss in six weeks, it seems we’ve all consistently lost over a stone since we started 6 weeks back.
I’ve lost 1st 7lb so far, I am happy with that, aiming for the low 13’s for end of the month amd to be in the 12’s by Christmas

effects wise I’ve not had any really, apart from constipation but now I’m taking chai seeds I don’t have it anymore. I do feel very tired but my sleep has improved so much. When I first went up to 5 I did feel a bit more tired and slightly nauseous, it’s all settled down now though.

Hi @SexyFrenchDepression I’m rubbish at working out the difference each week in lb and oz but happy to share my graph from Shotsy since starting.

Grey is 2.5mg injection, purple is 5mg.

Thank you, so you mainly just plateaued towards the end of the 2.5 then started losing more on the 5. I will be interested to see how the 2nd week goes really for me. I would love to lose few lbs this week then would be happy with 2lb a week after that for sure. It is always hard as I am so impatient 😂

WegoGirl · 09/11/2025 11:09

Sorry to go against the grain but I have just used my 4th jab and haven’t lost anything. I do have a bit less food noise but not a big reduction. My only side effect is it has lowered my mood. I was already depressed so this might mean I have to stop. I have ordered the 5 pen and will give it another month.

Have you been tracking calories to make sure you're not above what you need to be eating? Even on the injections you need to be in a calorie deficit otherwise you won't lose weight x

WegoGirl · 09/11/2025 11:27

I am tracking calories but am always hungry. Without any appetite suppression it is no different from any previous diet.

Elliebearblues · 09/11/2025 11:34

Hi all, I was doing well until lunch time yesterday when I had avocado on one click of toast with a egg and then felt nauseous all afternoon and Into the night,
today the stomach ache, and Diorrhea have come back (2nd weekend) in a row, it’s making me feel so miserable and I’m not normally a Ill person but since I had the stomach bug over 3 weeks ago I just keep being unwell. The 5mg supression is definitely working and I had my 2nd jab Friday evening. Is this normal to have these symptoms whilst adjusting to the 5mg? x

That makes sense - unfortunately sometimes it just doesn't give the strong suppression to everyone. I hope the 5 dose helps.

This week for me has been a huge win - despite not losing anything (day 1 of my period and having got back from a trip away yesterday) my BMI is now under 30 so I qualify for IVF funding 🙌🏼 going to do another month to keep getting the weight down and hopefully help the chances of success, and then take December off, ready to start IVF in Jan!

WegoGirl · 09/11/2025 12:00

That is fantastic news @Moosey898 but guess you have to get it all out of your system before you start trying. Hopefuly we will have a thread baby next year.

I’ve been on 5ml just over 2 weeks horrible side effects for me unfortunately all last weekend I felt nauseous, sulfer burps, stomach cramps and Diorrhea so couldn’t go anywhere as felt rubbish. Felt better towards the end of this week so did another 5mg jab Fri and felt nauseous all day yesterday into the night and this morning I’ve got Diorrhea and an achy stomach again 😩. Hoping this is a blip x

Oh gosh that sounds so miserable for you. Would you consider going back down to 2.5mg. I think if I get another few bouts of vomiting I'll consider that. Ive also had the raging burps as well but only in the evenings and thankfully not the sulphur ones. It's balancing it against all the benefits the weight loss brings isn't it.

HighlyUnusual · 09/11/2025 13:04

Clumsykitten · 08/11/2025 22:00

Thanks @narcASDand @Moosey898- I appreciate the support and encouragement. I’ve got to remind myself that a stone of weight is more than I’ve managed to lose and keep off than I have for years, and it will be helping my health right now, even if I’ve got a way to go.

I think this is a good way of thinking. I have to remember that although I'm not losing fast (if at all), I was starting to put on weight again even with quite a healthy diet, and so any achievement, whether maintaining or then losing a small amount (and a stone is not small!) is amazing.

Since menopause, any ability I had to lose weight is out the window, so even small achievements are still achievements.

HighlyUnusual · 09/11/2025 13:08

@WegoGirl if you see my posts above, I'm the same as you! Jealous of all the people with losses early on. 2.5 is supposed to be a gentle starter dose though and I think some of us just don't respond at that dose. I have also moved up to 5 this week and have had a migraine so am wondering if this is connected, although I have them regularly anyway. It is a bit disappointing but I'm going to try a whole month at 5mg before saying it doesn't work for me.

Wegovy did work for me, but I did not enjoy the side effects and I got very exhausted on it, so after a long time of being a slow loser I came off it and had a year's break.

Its hard to decide what to do im hoping its my body settling into the 5mg but I know I couldn't carry on like this. I literally had such slow weight loss on 2.5mg and no suppression x

StrongLikeMamma · 09/11/2025 14:56

Has anyone actually gone up to the 5mg and NOT felt terrible?

I’ve been approved for my second pen - 4th jab of first pen is due tomorrow. I’m going to be interested to see if the suppression keeps up during month 2! 🤞

I got out the shower this morning and DH commented that my weight loss is now visible - which I’m delighted with. It’s been years since I’ve lost this much.
10lbs down this morning 🎉

I’m finding the gym exhausting! But then I always do. I’m also finally tracking my calories - rather than just eating healthy food (clearly too much!) - and it’s amazing how many calories I’ve been consuming and not really noticing. The lack of impulse to snack or drink wine have been my big wins. Am eating much less cheese too, which as a pescatarian/ vegie has often been added to meals. I just don’t fancy it.

I’m so looking forward to seeing my first stone come off! But am also feeling apprehensive about other people starting to notice - as mentioned up thread, I feel like I will be judged for doing this, so DH is sworn to secrecy!

Here’s to everyone’s progress next week! 💛🤞🙌

Moosey898 · 09/11/2025 14:57

@StrongLikeMamma me! I did earlier this year and felt the benefits e.g. increased suppression and absolutely zero side effects.

VioletandMauve · 09/11/2025 15:05

@StrongLikeMamma - fabulous weight loss! 4th jab on 2.5mg today and am weighing myself tomorrow. But am staying on 2.5 another month so interested in hearing replies to what you asked!

@Moosey898 - that’s good to know.

WegoGirl · 09/11/2025 15:52

I’m having a right faff ordering my second pen. They keep asking for different photos of the box and saying the date isn’t visable. So I took a close up and they say it is too cropped. Grrr. This is numan, if my latest photons aren’t accepted I think I’ll try a different supplier.

Clumsykitten · 09/11/2025 19:45

Well done @StrongLikeMamma - I think that feeling of really seeing the difference is wonderful. And for me I’ve realised how much of the time I’m simply trying dress in a way that isn’t too uncomfortable from too tight and / or unflattering clothes. I’m honestly used to trying to be invisible.

@HighlyUnusual- I do think that for me this has started a reset. I don’t know where the journey ends for me, but it’s good even if it’s only a small change. And for you it might be just about finding the effective dose? Our bodies fight weight loss, we have evolved to keep this weight until we really need it.

@moosey- I am so so pleased for you. IVF is a tough journey but at least you are an injection pro! I hope you have a smooth and wonderful experience, and that you keep us updated with your other journey x

I ordered from bolt. Was pretty straightforward. They needed the box picture or email stating the prescription, passport picture and front and side body.

jaelato1 · 09/11/2025 20:21

Amazing reading all these wonderful losses 👏
Week 6 completed for me and I am 15.5lbs lighter. I maintained in week 5 but hoping to lose another stone by Christmas 🙏

DakotaFanny · 09/11/2025 21:20

What a lovely result @Moosey898 - so happy for you!

I’ve taken my golden dose and have a 5mg pen ready to go. I’m 4kg down….and quite confused!

I feel like I still haven’t really had much suppression- I do fill up quicker but then I’ll be hungry again quite quickly. BUT it has been pretty easy losing the weight. I’ve literally just focused on eating 100-120g of protein and 25g of fibre and that has kind of meant I’ve just eaten really well. And I’m pretty happy with a kg loss a week.

i also intrinsically feel that the lower dosage I can stay on the better for maintenance afterwards? Like if I haven’t relied on total suppression and have still felt hungry sometimes I’ll find it easier to cope with that afterwards and so be less likely to rebound???

The short version of this is that I am quite conflicted about whether to move up to 5mg. I think I’m probably going to do 3.75 for a couple of weeks and see how that goes. Is anyone else doing an Inbetween number?

Well done to all the people posting lovely big numbers and big respect to the slower losers who are keeping the faith. Hoping this week is good for everyone.

Are they a different provider to your 1st one? I am now worried as not sure if I kept the box or not. I dont understand why they would want to see the box when they sent it to you?

WegoGirl · 09/11/2025 21:41

It is a new supplier as cheaper. I was puzzled by needing to see the previous box, it took about 10 photos to satisfy them.
