Bit premature but planning on starting with Mounjaro in next week or so.

I’ve struggled with my weight for the majority of my life and despite having periods of being within the realms of ‘healthy’ weights, these have been difficult to get to and v hard to maintain. I’m now keen to sort things out, once and for all before I’m 40. (Given myself a buffer as currently 36…) 😅

SW: 14st 7lb
1st GW: 13st

4th dose on 2.5 me today. Happy to see I'm in the 76kg range!

Upping to 5mg next week.

Well done everyone with your loss!

VioletandMauve · 31/10/2025 14:09

I'm unsure what to do next regarding moving up to 5mg or staying on 2.5mg. Admittedly I'm only on week 2, with my 3rd jab being this Sunday.

So can I ask those who are moving up to 5mg - did your eating habits change after the 2nd, 3rd or the 4th week on 2.5? So far week 2 for me has been the same as week 1, although with less side effects. Food noise returns slightly on days 5 and 6, then disappears after the jab. Food suppression remains high throughout which is good.

I'm thinking if weeks 3 and 4 are the same then I'll stay on 2.5mg as I'm happy with my weight loss so far and will move up to 5mg if weight loss slows down.

Am interested in what others have experienced.

jaelato1 · 31/10/2025 14:13

@PfizerFan yes, I did take it using a syringe I bought online but noticed in the new jab pack i opened yesterday, they have included an extra needle making 5 needles instead of the original 4.

@Clumsykitten Absolutely 💯

jaelato1 · 31/10/2025 14:17

@IlovePostitnotes well done!

@VioletandMauve I am in month 2 and I am staying on 2.5 as suppression is also good for me, I have however ordered 5mg for month 3 but I know I dont want to go 5mg just yet, so might up it to 3mg first

Am also in week 2 - due jab 3 on Monday. I’m definitely still getting suppression most of the week and the nausea was only really week one for a day or 2.
I’m thinking, if week 3 goes the same I might as well stay in 2.5.

I had supression the first week on 2.5mg and nothing since. I tried 3.75mg Monday and it was exactly the same as being on 5mg so I’m definitely upping to 5mg x

VioletandMauve · 31/10/2025 15:17

@jaelato1 that's a good idea, I think I will stay on 2.5mg in month 2 but potentially buy a 5mg for month 3, maybe just upping the dose slightly then.

@StrongLikeMamma yes I'm thinking the same, staying on 2.5mg another month and will see how that goes.

I’d say if you have good suppression and are losing weight then stay on 2,5mg. It’ll be cheaper in the long run x

IlovePostitnotes · 31/10/2025 15:52

@Elliebearblues I jab Friday as weekends are my downfall. Weekdays I tend to have a bit more of a routine.

Anybody taking the so-called "golden" dose?

Yes, I did it this week and it was no bother. I used the same needle to extract and inject myself and it felt fine.

Just jabbed the 5mg now so we’ll see what happens with supression this week x

Moosey898 · 01/11/2025 05:47

Had fish and chips last night - shouldn't be have done...my stomach is telling me about it this morning 🤦🏼‍♀️ no more greasy food for me!

Rubiscoisfantastic · 01/11/2025 09:32

Morning everyone,

I just injected my 4th 2.5mg dose. Weight loss so far:
week 1 - 5lbs
week 2 - 2lbs
week 3 - 1lb (although feeling a bit ‘bunged up’ and also due on in the next day or two.

I have ordered the next pen but stuck with 2.5mg as I still feel some appetite suppression. I want to feel some hunger though so that I can exercise some willpower when I stop the injections. Effectively, what I’m saying is I want to feel some food noise to prepare for when I’m on my own with the help of the injections. I’m also thinking about the cost of moving up quickly!!

On a separate note, what is ‘the golden dose?’ There is some medication left in the pen and an extra needle. Am I meant to take that? The new pen is due today, ready for next Saturday. Should I have delayed its delivery?

Thanks!

VioletandMauve · 01/11/2025 11:00

@Rubiscoisfantastic that’s exactly what I’m planning to do (stay on 2.5mg) although my third jab is tomorrow so not done a full 4 weeker yet. At the moment the food suppression is good but on the day before I am due to inject (which is today) the food noise has been returning. I don’t think this is a bad thing as like you, I do want to exercise some willpower and don’t want to be totally and completely numb to food if that makes sense.

Also congrats on the weight loss. Fabulous!

I upped my dose to 5mg about 4ish yesterday and had stomach cramps on and off last night all all day today don’t know if it was the jab or the chilli I had 😩

I only had food supression the first week on 2.5mg, I upped to 3.75mg but it was exactly the same as the 2.5mg so I’ve given in and upped to 5mg.

I’ve had a slice of toast with jam and peanut butter this morning and a protein coffee but haven't felt hungry all day, but also haven’t felt full either it’s so strange … the first week on 2.5mg I felt full a lot of the time which made me not want to eat but this feeling is different x

Clumsykitten · 01/11/2025 20:13

Guys, I’m actually really proud of us all. I don’t know you all, but I feel like every one of us is trying really hard to make a good change. Thank you for the encouragement to eat sensibly and thoughtfully.

I’m finding it hard to build up my exercise but I know that should be part of the plan too

StrongLikeMamma · 01/11/2025 20:27

I’m loving that I no longer care about having a glass of wine! It’s just not something I’m fancying. I think the odd couple of glasses or more at the weekend had been really sabotaging any chance of weightloss for me.

Not that I wouldn’t have one if I fancy it, I just don’t fancy it!

I went back to the gym yesterday and am pretty exhausted today. It’s really making me think about making sure I get my protein in. Need to plan some meals and be more organised.

jaelato1 · 01/11/2025 21:29

@Clumsykitten I 100% support this message. We got this 👍
I know people who are at their GW without exercising but if you do want to exercise then maybe start by incorporating 1-3 mile walk 3-4 times a week first.

@StrongLikeMamma likewise I havent thought about glass of wine since I started and i dont miss it. My DH have it some evening and I just decline it.

100% this is not a quick fix but a lifestyle change and we’re all doing it for our health . Everyone’s journey will be different but it’s so lovely we are all here for each other for support x

AlexBrad · 02/11/2025 05:57

Unfortunately I think I will have to stop with my Mounjaro journey. I have a really persistent, constant bad stomach that keeps getting worse despite not going up from 2.5mg and the online prescriber I use has advised I stop. I am gutted despite the side effects as I have been losing weight. Wishing you all lots of luck!

DakotaFanny · 02/11/2025 08:03

So sorry to hear that @AlexBrad
