Bit premature but planning on starting with Mounjaro in next week or so.

I’ve struggled with my weight for the majority of my life and despite having periods of being within the realms of ‘healthy’ weights, these have been difficult to get to and v hard to maintain. I’m now keen to sort things out, once and for all before I’m 40. (Given myself a buffer as currently 36…) 😅

SW: 14st 7lb
1st GW: 13st

Here for support, tips and anything else helpful along the way. 🫣

Morning all. Quick question about...erm... tummy troubles. I don't know if it's the 5mg I started on Friday, or the codeine I've been taking for another issue (codeine hasn't bothered me before), but I went Tues to Sunday without going to the loo. I tried a laxative last night, and have some movement now, but boy have I felt ill.

I upped the mj dose, as over weeks 1-3 of 2.5mg I lost 2kg and the food noise disappeared, but week 4 the noise came back loud and clear on day 5, and I had put all the weight back on that I'd lost (or was that me just not using the loo?) I drink litres of squash, mugs of black tea, and a couple of coffees a day.

What I wondered is, is if anyone else has had constipation - did it sort itself out, or am I buying more laxatives? Or something else?

Coming up to 6 weeks on Wegovy and I've had the constipation problem too. I've found I do have to take regular action to stop it from reoccurring.
So I am taking psyllium husk capsules at maximum doses and also taking inulin powder. This is a soluble fibre that is supposed to help your gut biome. Pre Wegovy I'd get the runs if I took more than abiut half a teaspoon a day. Now I'm taking several teaspoons every day. Then I'm taking magnesium supplements at night. These can also have a laxative effect so I'm hoping that this is helping too. Then I'm using laxatives occasionally when the above isn't working enough.

I recommend the Shotsy app for recording jabs, it’s free in its basic mode!

I find it really helpful and can track weight alongside it so can see trends of dose/weight ☺️

I can’t see how to add my weight each week 😩

Icantfindanewname · 30/10/2025 18:49

Thank you all for the information about my reluctant stomach. It is now no longer reluctant, as I have stopped the codeine. Unfortunately this means the pain I was taking the codeine for is back, and my visits to the toilet are frequent - but that is down to treatment for yet another thing that's wrong with me. It's a bit of a balancing act between loperimide and laxido, but I'll get there, and I'd rather go than not 😳

@cheekysausage123 thank you. Will give this a try over the weekend.

StrongLikeMamma · 31/10/2025 07:27

Ooo thank you for the app recommendation - really useful! 👍

VioletandMauve · 31/10/2025 07:53

Weighed myself 3 days early this week as am travelling but have lost another 1.5lbs making a total of 6.5lbs in 2 weeks. So pleased! At this rate I’m thinking of staying on 2.5mg instead of upping the dose to 5mg, but will see what happens in the next couple of weeks first.

Moosey898 · 31/10/2025 08:15

Nice @VioletandMauve!

I've just weighed in early as well for week 3 as I'm flying to Spain tomorrow. Super pleased - down 5kgs (11lbs) in 2 weeks 4 days. Well on track to lose a stone within the first month 😁 and already getting nicely under 30 BMI for IVF which is awesome

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 31/10/2025 08:30

That’s really good @VioletandMauvenow you can enjoy your time away!

putthehamsterbackinitscage · 31/10/2025 08:32

Well done @Moosey898that’s great - are you planning to come off the iwli when you go for ivf?

Clumsykitten · 31/10/2025 08:51

Well done everyone, some great starts for lots of us! I think the thing I’m realising is that the injections (at this dose) are just taking the edge off and I need to build new habits whilst I’m on them. That sounds obvious when I write it down!

Thank you! Yep I'll come off once we speak with the clinic and have a plan with dates in place, should be organising that appointment soon so I think I'll have 3 ish more months on the injections. They have said to be off for 1 month before starting treatment and we're hoping to start in early 2026.

This is so true! You should want to still feel some hunger etc because you need to learn how to manage it for the long term, but it takes time and practice and the injections can give us the headspace to be able to start up good habits 😊

I see where to put weight in each week but it won’t work 😩 I can only seem to put start weight and now weight in. Am I doing something wrong?

@Elliebearblues I find shotly app to be an hassle for me as well so I use weightly app instead

Elliebearblues · 31/10/2025 11:05

Weigh in day for me after upping my dose Monday and I’m happy to say I stayed the same… I’m actually amazed as it was hubby’s birthday over the weekend and we took him to KFC as that’s where the kids wanted to take him and we also had 2 Indians and cake .. I’ve had no supression either I was expecting a 2-3lb gain so it’s a miracle! I’ve literally done hardly no exercise this week either all it’s done is rain all week so we’ve not been far on the kids half term x

jaelato1 · 31/10/2025 12:18

Also weighed in this morning and I only lost 200grams lol. I'll take it because I did eat of alot carb heavy food last week (ate rice dinner 4 times last week) so happy I didnt gain. Back to grind this week 💪

PfizerFan · 31/10/2025 13:19

Anybody taking the so-called "golden" dose?

As you said to me, slow and steady gets there safely and is more likely to last
