Bit premature but planning on starting with Mounjaro in next week or so.

I’ve struggled with my weight for the majority of my life and despite having periods of being within the realms of ‘healthy’ weights, these have been difficult to get to and v hard to maintain. I’m now keen to sort things out, once and for all before I’m 40. (Given myself a buffer as currently 36…) 😅

SW: 14st 7lb
1st GW: 13st

Well done @Sunshinesally77

@Lovesabadboy- I’m also feeling constantly freezing!

Day 3 and I’m not feeling as sick but definitely still not as hungry. It’s like my brain can just go “oh, actually I’m not that fussed” about eating suddenly. Also enjoying a lack of my “normal” blood sugar spikes/crashes, which was one of my reasons for wanting to try Mounjaro.

Rubiscoisfantastic · 16/10/2025 14:20

Hello everyone,
Nice to see you all finding some success in October. I did my first injection on Saturday evening. I haven’t really had any side effects, which is great. This is the first day I have felt a little nauseous, possibly after going out for a meal yesterday evening.
I snuck on the scales today, and seem to have lost a couple of pounds. 🙌
This has been an absolute revelation. Willpower seems to have finally made an appearance.

narcASD · 16/10/2025 14:34

Well done @Sunshinesally77and you were worried it wouldn’t work! Proof in the scales 😊

Welcome newbies it’s nice to hear everyone’s experiences.

1st milestone hit today, due for my final 2.5 jab tomorrow then will start at 5ml next Friday.

started some exercise last night, my daughter took a picture of me and said my stomach looks like a planet as it’s so round and big - got to love how honest kids are! she said she’d take another picture next month to compare it.

oh god kids say things bluntly don't they! My daughter held my tummy last night and said why is it SO puffed up? Which brought me back down to earth! Good luck with the exercise I actually have felt too exhausted this first week to exercuse- did you find you got more energy as your body got used to the jabs?

Shitzngiggles · 16/10/2025 16:01

Into the third week and lost another 5lbs! I know I need to up the calories to slow down the rate I'm losing at. Still no side effects, in fact apart from a cold I feel the best I've felt in years. It really is a miracle drug.

Moosey898 · 16/10/2025 16:12

Great to see everyone's progress! I'm holding off weighing in until Monday morning, will be taking my next jab a day early on Sunday as I need to shuffle it a bit around travel to make things easier. Hoping to see a couple of lbs gone!

@Clumsykitten - very odd, isn't it? I know the temperatures have really dropped here, but it is normally my husband moaning about the cold and NEVER me!

Not having the normal sugar spikes and dips is great!

I can actually see how it would be easy to forget to eat. I didn't have lunch until gone 2pm today...not that I was hungry, I just thought I had better have something!
This must be what it is like to be someone who doesn't have food noise!

Calyx72 · 16/10/2025 16:31

I couldn’t eat my soup Confused feeling too unwell and nauseous Envy

VioletandMauve · 16/10/2025 17:19

Well my first Mounjaro pen arrived today, but I’m holding off using it until Sunday as I’ve got a clear day then, although I am tempted to use it beforehand! Loving reading everyone’s success stories, am hoping to be one of them soon!

narcASD · 16/10/2025 19:00

@Sunshinesally77 god yeah I was exhausted the first week and really bloated, I’m 2 weeks ahead of you and have only just started exercising!

Just focus on sleep and eating right, then hopefully you’ll get a burst of energy once your body gets used to it. I’m exhausted today though!

@Shitzngiggles I feel the same now, felt no side effects apart from ahem, wind! But actually I feel so much better, I’ve had no track of facial sweats, no headaches (used to get them daily) and, I don’t wake up constantly at night, it really is doing something powerful

Clumsykitten · 16/10/2025 19:30

Sorry @Calyx72😞it’s a bit rubbish that you are feeling that way. What week are you on?

Calyx72 · 16/10/2025 19:32

I am starting to think I have Covid. Throat and Chest, then sinuses, and almost constant nausea. My friend had it and she is sure that’s what I have too.
I am week 3 and didn’t have any nausea until this started on Tuesday

Ah, I have heard that the latest type of covid comes with sickness/nausea, so that might make sense!

Clumsykitten · 16/10/2025 22:48

I really hope you feel better soon @Calyx72

Elliebearblues · 17/10/2025 08:33

Nearing the end of week 2 and feel awful 🥲 I felt a bit unwell yesterday but thought that was down to missing breakfast as my son ate the last slice of bread which I was keeping for a piece of Toast. As the morning went on I started to feel quite queasy, lightheaded and a thumping headache. I had a piece of toast and 2 eggs for lunch then and still didn’t feel much better so went for a nap.. I felt better after a nap but then had horrid sulphur burbs.

Then early hours this morning my stomach started hurting too and I’ve been back and fore to the toilet with diarrhoea and feel sick 😩 really hope this passes soon. Anyone else felt this way on the jabs?

I think it’s gonna be a chill day whilst the kids are in school and go back to bed I’m exhausted.

Moomthemoo · 17/10/2025 09:19

Hi everyone, it is great reading about the progress! I am now starting day 4 and would say that symptoms are lessoning:
I've not had as much nausea
No headache today

I had pasta last night and got really bad heartburn.

My questions are:
Are you all calorie counting? I haven't been monitoring that at all.
I'm with med express, will they prompt me to buy the next dose before it runs out or do I need to do that myself?

Also, I feel like the suppression is less today and I am actually hungry all ready. I'm going to have a fruit but I'm worried that by day 6 I'm going to be worse.

DakotaFanny · 17/10/2025 09:47

Sorry to hear you’re feeling so awful Elliebearblues. Look after yourself.

No symptoms of anything for me- no suppression, hungry as normal, no signs of any loss but thankfully also no illness. Quite looking forward to jab number 2….a little suppression or satiety would be nice!

narcASD · 17/10/2025 10:07

@Elliebearblues sorry your feeling unwell, could you be coming down with something, or do you feel it’s the jab? Hope you get some rest while kids are at school.

@DakotaFannyi didn’t feel any suppression for the first 8-10 days, I found after the 2nd jab I started to think a little less about food. My last dose of 2.5 today and definitely ready to go up!

@Moomthemooi am calorie counting but at the highest end as I’ve another 4st to lose so starting at 1200 for me would be unsustainable, I’m on between 16-1800 a day but will drop down as I lose.

mot sure about Med express and ordering, I use juniper and am currently on the subscription package so they’ll send out my next dose in time. Once my discount code runs out with them I’ll look at another supplier. I would contact them and ask, just for piece of mind.

I was calorie counting before starting back on MJ - so I know the calories of most of the meals I cook on rotation and roughly how much I eat normally.

I'm not calorie counting now I'm back on MJ as I find I don't need it and I feel better mentally when I'm not tracking everything.

To be honest I’m not sure, I did up my dose on Monday to 3.75mg and when I googled it, it says this can happen 😩.. hopefully it won’t last long.

IlovePostitnotes · 17/10/2025 10:59

Morning all,
Just taken my 2nd jab. Not a huge amount of loss in Week 1.
SW 79kg
CW 78.1kg
GW 63 kg

It has been a very stressful week with fitting in everything where I can. Have been up v early taking an ill elderly parent to several hospital appointments, plus the full time job plus a young family. Hopefully this week coming I will be able to focus on v healthy eating, water, exercise.
Good luck my fellow October starters!

jaelato1 · 17/10/2025 12:24

@VioletandMauve Welcome to the gang 😀

@Calyx72 @Elliebearblues Get well soon both

Calyx72 · 17/10/2025 13:35

I definitely have covid, test went positive within 10 seconds! Feeling quite relieved that the nausea is covid not MJ Smile

Not sure whether I will do my 3rd jab on Sunday. If I still have covid symptoms then I might leave it a week. I haven’t been able to eat more than 350-400 calories a day for the past 3 days which won’t be helpful

IlovePostitnotes · 17/10/2025 14:21

@Calyx72 Take it easy and get well soon.

StrongLikeMamma · 17/10/2025 16:43

Aaah just got a call to say my first dose is on the way! It had been delayed because they had emailed me to ask for photo ID and i’d missed it.
All sorted now. Should have it in the next couple of days.
Am feeling excited ☺️
