Bit premature but planning on starting with Mounjaro in next week or so.

I’ve struggled with my weight for the majority of my life and despite having periods of being within the realms of ‘healthy’ weights, these have been difficult to get to and v hard to maintain. I’m now keen to sort things out, once and for all before I’m 40. (Given myself a buffer as currently 36…) 😅

@jaelato1that's a great idea. I can definitely feel the suppression isn't as strong now as it was for the first 2 weeks but I'm a bit apprehensive to jump to 5mg given I've barely had any side effects. Might try 3mg same as you if I can get to grips with counting clicks.

@Clumsykittenwell done! How are you feeling now?

Elliebearblues · 15/10/2025 12:05

After doing 3.75mg Monday I still feel ok and the supression still isn’t that strong yet.. hoping it kicks yo a notch soon

jaelato1 · 15/10/2025 12:45

@Clumsykitten Well done! how are you feeling today?

@cheekysausage123 If you do try the 5mg, let me know how it goes. I think might need to ease my self into 5mg, I'll start with 3mg, 3.75mg then 5mg. On the bright side, I am on day 6 and suppression is still very good which is rare.

@Elliebearblues Does your suppression normally takes a while to kick in or just with the 3.75?

FlibbertyGibbitt · 15/10/2025 12:51

Mine has turned up today so am going to do it tomorrow morning. Bit nervous but excited too !

I only took the 3.75 Monday and can start to feel the supression today

Just started 2 days ago. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to feel but I am definitely nauseous and have a headache.
I am less hungry than before but still keep opening the snack drawer and looking at them. Then closing it as I feel a bit sick!
I really want to make this work.

Clumsykitten · 15/10/2025 18:05

Thanks @jaelato1@Caledoniablue@Elliebearblues- I’m ok I think, feeling very slightly sick and lightheaded but to be honest the kids are under the weather so it might just be fighting off that!

I had a bit of reflux (which I’m prone to anyway) but so far 🤞 at least nothing major. I’ve not eaten as much today, I’m definitely not craving sweet junk food as intensely already. Also knowing I’ve had the jab definitely made me think twice before grabbing a snack…

I know what you mean, I’ve open and then closed the fridge several times today!

DakotaFanny · 15/10/2025 19:13

I’m 2.5 days after my first 2.5mg and can’t feel any difference at all- except that I’ve slept a lot lot better! (Which is a huge win for me!)

Are there people who never really feel anything? Or can I expect it to get a little more obvious every week?

Purplephase · 15/10/2025 20:07

Great to hear how well people are doing!

I'm pootling on, (wk 1), sticking to calories OK. I wouldn't say I feel I have huge suppression etc., but I do feel I've got more willpower, if that makes sense? Maybe the way MJ does its stuff just feels different to different people? 🧐

AluckyEllie · 15/10/2025 20:59

Hello, hope it’s okay for me to jump on the thread. I’ve just ordered my first pen- and doing lots of research. What apps are everyone using to track protein/fibre etc? I’ve watched so many videos warning about muscle loss I’m really keen to make as much effort as possible to avoid this. I’ve got 6 stone to loose so a long way to go and just trying to make sure I start strong.

Happy to pay for an app but only one really so what have people found most useful?

DakotaFanny · 15/10/2025 21:10

I’ve switched from MFP to Lose It for precisely this reason Ellie- it is really good from a macros point of view.

@AluckyEllie I am using the Nutracheck app. Its easy to use and has a barcode scanner which is handy. It has a 7 day free trial.

AluckyEllie · 15/10/2025 23:18

Thank you both! I’m off to look at both these. Time to meal plan.

Lovesabadboy · 16/10/2025 00:16

Good Evening!
I was wondering if I might join in with you October starters, please?
I did my first jab on Sunday (after being a total wuss with it sitting in the fridge for 2 weeks before plucking up the courage to take it!)
I am not sure if it was psychological, but I felt like I was experiencing suppression really quickly since Monday. I have not been able to finish a meal in one sitting as I seem to get full very quickly!
This is great for me, as it is portion size that has got me to the stage where I need to lose 4-5 stone!
I am feeling full for such a long time after a meal and can't say that I have felt hungry at all.
Normally, I would experience a sugar dip and feel nauseous at about 11am every day, but that has not been happening at all.
The only side effect that I have had is a bit of heartburn which was remedied by a Rennie.

I do feel really cold though, which is not like me at all as I run hot ALL the time. Could this be the MJ or am I maybe sickening for something?!

Hello of course come join us, that’s great on the supression side for you, everyone is different so it can be quick in so,e people and slower in others. I also get the horrible acid reflux, I suffer with it anyway and have Lansoprozole and Peptac . I’m also hot and cold then again this weather is nice one minute freezing the next so that dosnt help. Good luck in your first week

Sunshinesally77 · 16/10/2025 08:07

Hi all 🙂 just finished my first week and weighed in this morning 9 pounds lighter!! Can't believe it! I know it'll now slow right down but very happy.

@AluckyEllie I find the glucopal app really useful as it's simple and free and log all symptoms and injection info there. For calories and nutrition I actually just use chat gbt as it's so fast and gives me a quick idea of what I need to top up with- I'm still struggling with protein intake so have added some bulk protein powder which is meant to be less full of rubbish.

@DakotaFanny i felt like this too and weirdly didn't feel that different until day 5 and then it was just kind of not fancying food- but I actually didn't think it was working until this morning so obviously something was xx

You are right about the weather...I think I am just looking for symptoms when it is just normal 'life'!
Looking forward to seeing everyone's progress...onwards and downwards 😁

That is amazing! Well done you!
You must be thrilled!
And how many times did you step back on the scales to double/triple check?!?

Calyx72 · 16/10/2025 12:13

Wanted to check back in although I am still not well with a chesty cold and now sinuses! Can’t get near 1200 calories even with nuts in the evening. Got 1100 yesterday. My weight has gone up by 0.5lb today but I know it’s inflammation and water retention. I can see my face is slightly thinner.
Sorry for not naming people but it’s great reading everyone’s posts.

I am making a big pot of soup:
100g (dry measured) scotch broth mix - soaked overnight
200g carrots
150g onions
100g celery
300g potatoes
300g chicken breast
3 oxo chicken stock cubes 2litres water
salt & pepper
bay leaf

AI says for my ingredients a serving will be around 330 calories witheven 28g protein, 9.2g fibre and 4.2g fat

Juststarting12 · 16/10/2025 12:51

@Sunshinesally779lbs is amazing! I have my first weigh in tomorrow and hoping for a number like that 🤞🏽
My appetite has come back a little more these past 24 hours but I’m doing OK with how much I’m eating, I probably under ate by quite a lot those first few days so hopefully it evens out. I’m not looking forward to the slight nausea & headache for the first 24 hours, hopefully it’ll calm down the longer I take it.

Juststarting12 · 16/10/2025 12:59

@Lovesabadboy I’ve been feeling cold too, I quite like it though because for so long I’ve been so hot & uncomfortable

Thank you! Yeah I felt hungry too by yesterday but it's so weird because I actually didn't think anything has changed but did feel full fast!

Love a good soup! I'm onto week 3 of soup season 😅 week 1 was mexican sweetcorn soup, week 2 was chorizo, butter bean and kale. Next week is red lentil, chickpea and chilli!

Absolutely!
It is so nice to not be a sweaty mess all the time!
