Welcome to thread 14!

Link to our last thread here:

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we enter Autumn knowing that ALL of our Winter coats will do up 🥰

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and new stone brackets!

I’m on W47 D2 and on w2 of my second titrating down pen of 5.0mg

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 7.0lbs
GW 9st 0lb

Total loss so far 61.0 lbs (at 9st 6.0)

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Morning all,

Checking in.

SW 16 stone 7lb
CW 11 stone 4lb
GW 11 stone
Stretch GW 10 stone 7
BMI this morning 25.5 (from 37.4)

I am now 4lbs away from my goal weight! It seemed impossible when I set the goal but now I’m a few whiskers away I realise that I actually could definitely stand to lose quite a bit more (I have plenty of flabby bits! Still the jiggling Homer Simpson meme etc). I think more exercise will help me here over time. I now have my sights set on 10 stone 7lbs. 💪

I’ve still got that dreadful metallic taste in my mouth which is making a lot of food taste odd or off. It’s kind of putting me off food tbh - the only things that taste ok seem to be rubbish like crisps and biscuits? I’m hoping it’ll pass over time. I’ve got a health check up through work later this morning and will ask them, but suspect they’ll say it’s a viral thing… (definitely seems like the Covid funny mouth taste issue from googling). It certainly helps with cutting back on food. It’s naturally making me not want to eat much, so if it continues I may not need MJ in the long run! 🤦‍♀️

Happy Friday everyone! (Although the weather is miserable here)

Update from me: my bouji kitchen island chandeliers are clean, my grout lines Crystal white and I’m ready to host my fancy dinner party tomorrow (two puddings!) with friends 😂.

Back to (or as near as dammit) my wedding weight of 132.2lbs - it does seem like a Herculean effort to get that 1-2lbs off that had I’d gained post wedding, but it’s about toning up from here on in. However, I’m eating more, on the weekly 5mg dose as I titrate down and I have noticed greater hair loss in the past 4 weeks or so which is odd. Protein levels are constant, I’m drinking plenty of water, I’m lifting weights, eating plenty of fresh fruit and veg, getting plenty of iron from greens and red meat, eating plenty of fresh fish and still taking the collagen. I think I’m going to get a Dr’s appointment to check my thyroid levels although they were normal earlier in the year. I think I’ve paid enough into the system to warrant one, and literally didn’t have time to go to the doctors for decades in my ‘lunch is for wimps’ mad corporate years 😏

I’ve also managed to get hold of the sold-out burgundy faux leather M&S trousers thanks to my post jab insomnia (I’ve ordered in a size 8 (!) and a 10) 🥳 and have ordered a satin burgundy shirt to go with them from mango which I’m going to wear tomorrow night. Both arrive today. I now have to find a device to make extra holes in my fancy Gucci belts because I’ve run out and I’m not buying new ones. Apparently Timpsons no longer offer the service after people started taking the piss out of their free service, claiming their belts were ruined and getting new ones. Sigh. There’s always a minority ruining it for the rest of us isn’t there?

Hope everyone has something fun planned for the weekend!

Well done on the housework / dinner party prep and hooray for the lovely new clothes! My husband has some sort of tool he uses to make extra punches in belts. Had it for years and no clue what the original purpose was. I’ll ask him what it is and try to take a photo in case helpful!

Sorry to hear about the hair loss. I think mine is finally starting to calm down. Whether it’s because it’s moved out of the 3/4 months shedding phase and is settling down or it’s finally improving due to the minoxidil I cannot say (it could be a combo of the two).

Enjoy your dinner party!

@Mounjaropen your dinner party outfit and plans sound super glamorous, enjoy!

I think the last time I was at my current size 12ish I was a 32G but I seem to be annoyingly stuck at a 32HH. I too had an early start and was a DD at 14 attracting a lot of the wrong kind of attention from middle aged men, and just seemed to be a bit of a joke to boys my age. Sad times.

I keep my bras hung on hooks on the inside of my wardrobe door because they take up way too much room in drawers.

I've had a mad drop of 2lb on the scales this morning, compared to my usual very slow rate of loss now which is about 2lb a month.
I'm putting it down to yesterday being Yom Kippur which means no food or water from 5.30pm one day to 7.30pm the next. I've recorded it but guessing it will go up again.

Thinking of you and your community right now 💔

It's really puzzling re the hair loss (in my case). I was doing fine until I got to my target weight, which I put down to having taken collagen for the past couple of years. However over the past 5 weeks it's been thinning like mad, and still is. Yet I am not losing any more weight.
I don't know if there is a total weight loss or perhaps % weight loss where the body suddenly reacts.
I have had hair loss episodes in the past, in particular post Covid, and it has always turned itself around and grown back in again. It's just that it takes quite a while.
Like you @Mounjaropen I have always focussed on a good balanced diet, I know I am getting all the nutrients I need, and I feel great. My weight loss has been steady, nothing dramatic apart from the first month. Is this just a WLI thing, or does it happen in general after a large weight loss?

Well, I’ll find out a bit later on, I’ve got an appointment this morning. I bloody love my doctors, filled in the form got a call back within half an hour got an appointment within three I was after filling the form in. You can’t say any fairer than that. I’ll Report back with what they say.

Aww thanks. I’ve got Crowd Pleasers on the menu. 😂

Doctor’s appointment later this morning, I’ll report back with what they say. It’s so weird because I’ve gone down a dose in MJ and my weight has been consistent.

Last year I bought some sugar free gingerbread syrup to try and prevent temptation for the seasonal drinks and their high calories. It was foul. I do have a caramel one I use instead of sweetener now and then which is nice.

This week I saw some ginger coffee pods and they came today, they make a bloody lovely coffee, feels seasonal and not sweet to match my new taste buds. And had me dashing for the loo straight after so double victory.

3-4 months for it to settle down, you say? Hmm. I feel like I should start photographing my hairline every morning...

This has made my realise I have no idea how long I’ve been seriously shedding for, really. Long enough for me to have noticed, not long enough for anyone else to have. My hairdresser says mine isn’t as pronounced as some of her other clients on WLIs, but I wonder if that’s also linked to me not having as strong a set of side effects as some have reported.

The ultimate coffee IMO is the Harrods Christmas coffee. Not cheap, but smells like spices, nuts and chocolate. It is divine. I order a load of it around now and then DH and I share a cafetière of it every morning whilst reading the papers and before we get up. I also light any candles I get from the liberty advent calendar so the room smells beautiful whilst it’s dark outside. It’s our little autumn/christmassy ritual.

Life in an empty nest has its pros and cons. This is definitely one of the pros 🥰

Morning all.

doing my weekly check in. Today feels like a milestone as I was on the jabs for 30 weeks and been off then now for 15. So I’ve been off them for half as long as I was on them, and still maintaining my weight loss. In fact today I’m down a few pounds, which I think is last weekend’s running catching up with me. On the boob and bra chat, mine suddenly shrank towards the end of the weight loss and I’m getting used to having much smaller boobs. I’ve gone from a 32G to a 28E according to the boob or bust calculator. Although I’m wearing mainly 32Es as getting a smaller back from high street shops is pretty tricky. Now it seems I’m staying stable I might invest in a couple of decent bras and try the smaller bands.

Oh and my Vinted autumn coat arrived this week. It was a great buy and a size 8!

SW 147 bmi 30
CW 110 bmi 22.5
starting fat 36.8%
current fat 26.1%

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 03/10/2025 10:24

Think I might need to put my Rab Deep Cover Parka on Vinted as it now swamps me at size 18 and I need to look for a smaller one.

Great update @Cantbesure really pleased that you have been successful coming off WLIs 💪🏻

Weighing in.

W48D7
SW: 19st 9lbs
CW:14st 08lbs
1st GW: 17st 13lbs
2nd GW 15st 4lbs
3rd GW: 13st 9lbs
TL: 5st 01lb

That's the first official weigh on that's over 5 stone lost as everything went rogue in time for last Friday, despite mid week success! I realised this morning too that my bra is on the thinnest hooks, so perhaps I will go down another size in the not to distant future.

I'm setting a mini goal of hitting five and a half stone by my monjournoversary, which is 8th Nov. I'd love to hit 6 stone but that'd take a miracle/ well timed bout of gastro/ a whole pack of Those Asda Muffins 😂

LindtCurves · 03/10/2025 12:07

Weighing in

On 7.5mg - but every 2 weeks, I'm maintaining

H 5’ 6”
SW 14st
CW 9st 6lbs
GW 9st 7lbs
Total loss 4 1/2 stone!!

Death jabbers, I'm very surprised! I have said before in this thread that I worry about not eating enough, but also feels strange to force myself to eat more. And that maybe I won't push all the way down to my goal weight and stop now, as I'm a good weight now and you know, price hikes.

Well. As of this morning, I am just below my goal weight! I'm pleased but it's also strange, let me explain.

I've not jabbed for 12 days and although there's no overwhelming hunger, there's certainly more interest in food. So I've been eating 3 little meals a day, not particularly restrictive although wholesome and diverse, e.g. Korean food. I've certainly had the odd cake and tiny bit of dark choc quite a few days. So I was fully preparing for a gain... and here we have my lowest weight ever as an adult?

Hopefully it encourages you that maintenance isn't that scary, and the weight loss may continue even off the drugs. And that eating a little more may not make you balloon. I know I'm not completely off, but I'll probably jab every 2 weeks/ when I feel like I need to, and see how it goes.

Cardio really makes my body drop pounds and I conscioulsy didn't do it much while actively on the drug. So now it seems when I do any, it has an effect. Could be a plan B if I do start gaining.

Does anyone have slim friends, say a size 10-12, who are gaining weight and talking about their struggles to keep it down? How do you talk to them on that topic? I have 2 friends who have always been a size 8, with weight now creeping up around age 40, and they keep asking for advice, I don't know what to say! Feels wrng to give them diet tips if I had 'help'!

HangryBrickShark · 03/10/2025 12:15

Start weight 19st 5lbs April 2024, weighed at my first visit to Slimming World. I burst into tears at the time. I thought I was only about 17.5 stone, what a delusional person I was!

Lost 1st 10lbs on Slimming World and then started on Mounjaro March 2025. 2.5 dose first month, then month two and three 5mg dose, then month 4 and 5 7.5mg dose, then month six and 7 on 10mg dose. Still go to Slimming World meetings and trying to eat correctly but struggling a bit.

I am now 3st 3lbs down. Very happy but paying £283 a month for Mounjaro and not working so wondering how I can continue to finance this.

Well done!!! Great to see that you've made progress using both approaches. That's an amazing loss! How do you feel?

I'd try to be creative to generate that 300 pounds a month as the drug is truly life changing, right? Appreciate there may be reasons why you can't work at all, but could you maybe sell some stuff online, and make a small dent into the required amount? Any little bits of online work you can do? Currently there's also lots of seasonal work going where you could work a day week, including shifts at unusual hours if you have an unusual schedule, where if you worked 4 days a month, you'd make enough money to cover the drug.

I do apologise in advance if you strictly can't do any kind of work at all just trying to be creative to make the budget come together 😊Think we all agree in this thread that this is money very well spent.

jay55 · 03/10/2025 12:39

@PinkArtwell done for it being official 🎉🎉🎉

@LindtCurvesi think some fairly neutral pointers like tracking everything to spot bad habits and checking TDEE to work out calories needed, as it really reduces with age in a way a lot of us were unaware of, is a good way to avoid specific diet advice.

@HangryBrickSharkthe cost is a lot, do remember to take off what you’re not spending on takeaways/snacks/meals out to help with the justification. Lots on the thread have had luck selling their too big clothes on vented too.

Squee, I’ve just bought secondhand Jimmy Choos on Vinted! So excited, I’ve never had any JC’s before. Gold strappy peep toe heels. Not for any particular reason, they just caught my eye. They’re a bit battered but they were also cheap, and they have item verification too.
