Mounjaro Starters Nov ‘24 Thread 14 - The one where for the first time, ALL of our Winter coats do up 🤗

Mounjaropen · 23/09/2025 21:06

Welcome to thread 14!

Link to our last thread here:

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/weight-loss-injections/5394264-mounjaro-starters-nov-24-thread-13-the-one-where-we-are-lucky-to-end-our-best-summer-in-years-thinner-and-more-comfortable-in-our-own-skin?page=40

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we enter Autumn knowing that ALL of our Winter coats will do up 🥰

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and new stone brackets!

I’m on W47 D2 and on w2 of my second titrating down pen of 5.0mg

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 7.0lbs
GW 9st 0lb

Total loss so far 61.0 lbs (at 9st 6.0)

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

I feel your pain, @TooExtraImmatureCheddar. I have a pile of size 12s - some lovely pieces - currently vacuum packed and put away because if I do end up needing them again I’ll still be a healthy BMI and after replacing my wardrobe basics a couple of times this year I don’t want to burn that particular bridge!

@Mounjaropen Your energy & positivity over the past year have really set the tone for this thread. Thank you.

Mounjaropen · 14/11/2025 11:36

Happy Friday update from me:

Weight is up by 2lbs, hardly surprising.. it’s my birthday week (my 50th lasted a year so DH is happy with a designated week 😂) I’ve had dinner at Carbone (the hottest restaurant right now in London, it was just fabulous) A Japanese with an old friend in Birmingham, plenty of booze and tonight I’m out again with DD who is back from Uni. Tomorrow is the actual day and DH won’t tell me what we’re up to, except ‘that I’ll like it’. Let’s hope it’s not tickets to Benn v Eubank Jnr 2 😂

Have a happy Friday y’all!

I’m also considering storing size 12’s.. I’d hate to be buying everything all over again….😩

Weighing in.

W54D7
SW: 19st 9lbs
CW:14st 02lbs
1st GW: 17st 13lbs
2nd GW 15st 4lbs
3rd GW: 13st 9lbs
TL: 5st 07lb

No change this week, but that's fair enough after last week's woohsh. I'm back to the old pattern of being lighter on a Wednesday than a Friday!

No gain is no gain though 👏👏👏

Good morning all! It’s my Mounjaroversary! Here are my stats.

Starting weight: 12 st 7, BMI 32
Current weight: 9 st 3.6, BMI 23.7
Total loss: 45.4 lbs
Start clothes size: Struggling to fit into anything but refusing to buy clothes bigger than a 14. Mostly buying 12s and stretching them. I looked awful.
Current clothes size : 8-10. The jeans I’m wearing are an 8, the new skirt I bought last week is a 10.

I’m really happy at this size - I’m treating every office day as a fashion show. The only downside is that I worked my way right down my wardrobe in size order and my favourite jeans and trousers no longer fit!

How fabulous! Love that you’re treating the office to their own style show from you 🙌

I have both black and burgundy jumpers to go with the burgundy sequin skirt so that should cover it, and a dressier black top if I'm going out out. Black tights and loafers.

Somehow just realised I've been posting under a different username than usual on this thread... I will revert back for the next one

I'm on a bit of a plateau, not lost anything for over a month but I've not been trying too hard and seem to be a solid size 12 now in most brands which feels pretty good. So slow is fine.

RayonSunrise · 14/11/2025 12:11

Slow is also sustainable @SwallowsandAmazonians, and much less likely to result in hair loss (I think).

Happy birthday @Mounjaropen . I hope you have a fabulous week of celebrations. Thank you for keeping this thread so positive and for making me up my style game. Gucci knickers are on my Christmas list.
I'm maintaining at 8st. i jabbed 7.5 on Wednesday but will try moving down to 5 next week. I thought I'd signed on to the maintenance plan with Oushk but it seems I didn't so I had to pay full price for my last pen. Then last wek I saw an advert for Bolt and ordered a 7.5 pen from them for £213 which is less than I had been paying. Its 6 weeks until i go on an extended trip and I'd ideally like to drop a couple of lbs before then so that I have a buffer.
happy Friday everyone.

Cantbesure · 14/11/2025 13:45

Happy birthday @Mounjaropen they sound like fabulous celebrations. As we have come to expect from you. 🥂

weekly check in from me.
week 51 day 5 - MJ anniversary imminent
i took 30 jabs and I’ve been off MJ now for 20 weeks
SW 147lbs
CW 112lbs
BMI 22.9
I had put on a couple of pounds after my birthday and then a few lax weeks following that. But more on track now.

I went back to our first November thread and saw lots of posters I don’t recognise. I wonder what happened to them all and if they stayed on track. I couldn’t have managed with without you all. And the support of our thread mum @Mounjaropen

jay55 · 14/11/2025 15:01

Happy Birthday @Mounjaropenhope the fabulous celebration continues.

My weight is up this week, so frustrating. I’m stressed and grieving and trying to give myself a break and not think about it. Won’t be able to weigh for a few days which might not be a bad thing.

Cantbesure · 14/11/2025 17:18

Sorry to hear you are grieving @jay55 Be kind to yourself.

Oooh, maybe I should keep them - especially my absolutely lovely red cord wide leg trousers. They’re just really baggy on the arse now, which is such a shame as I spent ages trying to squeeze into them. I used to wear them if I could remotely close the button, even when I could scarcely breathe. I thought they looked great. Blush I’m actually mortified at how I used to look.

LindtCurves · 14/11/2025 20:36

Happy birthday @Mounjaropen!

And happy Monjaroversary everyone.

I've jabbed today (maintenance so spacing out jabs as long as I can handle, 14 days or more, til this pen runs out). It was definitely needed.

Last 5 days or so, I've been eating normal decent food, e.g. chicken with homemade veg sauce, or steak salad, but huuuge portions. Literally 400g chicken in one prolonged sitting without blinking. Or batch cooking but eating most of it. Also, chocolate bars every day. Double portion of Korean takeaway in a sitting. Appetite is certainly back and it worries me.

I also mentioned that MJ greatly improved my mental health and seeing as I've not jabbed for around 3 weeks, I feel low and emotional. It's been a struggle. Let's see if my mood improves after jabbing. I keep forgetting that MJ is a shortcut to me feeling better and consistent - literally keep forgetting that a wonder drug to fix my mental health in an instant exists!

I've jabbed and also got my fridge full of all kinds of good, wholesome stuff. Shall be reporting back. But I believe I'll keep jabbing through the winter to push through and keep enforcing my new lifestyle.

If I have to keep taking it to feel good physically and mentally, then so be it.

Happy birthday 🎂 🥳 @Mounjaropen ! Enjoy your surprise today! Do report back with your outfit choices please - you're always so chic!

SerenePeer · 15/11/2025 11:33

Happy weekend skinny bitches. I've been a bit awol as I heard 2 weeks ago that they're 'restructuring' my team and 3 of us will be made redundant 😭 So I've been hiding, frantically prepping to re-interview and trying not to comfort eat too much.

I am very much in a plateau with my weight just now but my size 12 jeans are suddenly hanging off me, so I'm sure the scales will catch up soon (if I can keep the comfort eating under control)

Novjaro · 15/11/2025 13:07

Happy birthday @Mounjaropen! have a fabulous day.

Sorry to hear about your job woes @SerenePeer and what a shitty time of year for your workplace to do it. I hope it all works out for you. And if it doesn’t, it’ll all work out in the end.

BlueWalker · 15/11/2025 13:29

I got to the end of week 52 yesterday, so I make that my Mounjaroversary. Today was jab 53. I have one new 15mg pen left, and have been ordering lower and lower doses each time to start titrating down (there's a 5mg on the way). I've still got between 7-14lbs to go to give myself a maintenance safety cushion but I am very, very chuffed with myself. Started at 16st 4lbs and I am now hovering around 10st, which was my goalish weight. Consistently fitting into size 12 clothes and the occasional size 10, have gone shopping mad in my own wardrobe, am now having to cull some size 14 clothes because they are too big, and I feel like I am swooshing about the place looking and feeling fabulous. Loose skin etc. be damned!
