Welcome to thread 14!

Link to our last thread here:

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/weight-loss-injections/5394264-mounjaro-starters-nov-24-thread-13-the-one-where-we-are-lucky-to-end-our-best-summer-in-years-thinner-and-more-comfortable-in-our-own-skin?page=40

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we enter Autumn knowing that ALL of our Winter coats will do up 🥰

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and new stone brackets!

I’m on W47 D2 and on w2 of my second titrating down pen of 5.0mg

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 7.0lbs
GW 9st 0lb

Total loss so far 61.0 lbs (at 9st 6.0)

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

The Vinted changes are so annoying. I didn’t have a lot of listings to change but the size options now are annoying. S is an 8-10. I don’t want 10s in my searches as they won’t fit. It worked perfectly before so I’m miffed!

Same. I'm an 8 these days, a 10 is too big, but if things come in S/M/L I very often need an XS which in Vinted speak is 4-6 (which I am definitely not). So I would need to wade through two Vinted categories which includes a total of 6 sizes. I just want to search by the actual size.

PinkArt · 13/11/2025 10:35

I'm baffled about why Vinted can't separate SML from the numbered sizes. The old pairings were ludicrous - I think a 14 was an XL?! - but the bigger problem was not having an either or option. If places like ASOS can let you select 16 and large to search by then Vinted should be able to too.
And on a personal level 12-14 is such a frustrating bracket when I'm just starting to nudge south of being a 16. A 12 might as well be a 6 for all it would currently fit!

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 13/11/2025 10:42

I can only think that some male employees thought this was a great idea at Vinted. I looked at their reasoning and thought they clearly don’t understand the female population. I want to search for size 12 tops and find them, size 10 is too small and size 16 is too big. I may have to go back to eBay.

in positive news I have just done a 5km run as I am on week 9 of C25K 💪🏻. There is simply no way I could have done that when I was 5 and half stone heavier last year.

evilharpy · 13/11/2025 10:49

Well done @TheSlimmingPumpkin that's amazing!

RayonSunrise · 13/11/2025 11:51

Exact sizes + brands are so important when it comes to second hand clothing, too! It’s not like you have the option of easy returns if something doesn’t fit. I’ve mentioned before I seem to be able to get into M&S size 8L jeans, but that in no way means I can wear size 8 universally.

So my Mounjaroversary is today ✨

SW: 93kg (14.7 stone, BMI 30)
CW: 64.5kg (10.2 stone, BMI 20.6)

So that’s 28.5kg (63lbs) lost over the year, or 31% of my starting bodyweight. 💪

Too many good things and NSVs to list, but being back to enjoying exercise again is a big one.

The lows - I’m sure I’ve lost at least 100g of hair. Looking forward to all the wispy grow back…

Cantbesure · 13/11/2025 12:26

Well done on your 5k @TheSlimmingPumpkin that’s an amazing achievement and you should be very proud of yourself.

wow @RayonSunrise that’s a teeny BMI are you feeling like a fabulous skinny Minnie?

RayonSunrise · 13/11/2025 14:24

I do feel pretty teeny @Cantbesure- absolutely no complaints about my progress here. I’m happy to be switching to maintenance, though time will tell what that actually looks like.

SwallowsandAmazonians · 13/11/2025 14:30

Went out at lunchtime and picked up this skirt in a size 12, it looks great on and is super stretchy and comfortable.

My wardrobe contained no sequins at all so I felt I had to remedy that situation before Christmas

Love this! what are you wearing it with?

I just ordered a gold sequinned mini dress - my wardrobe sparkles are mainly on vinted 😂

1061 if adding in my 53.

NSV for the week, put on a cross body bag I’d not worn in ages and had to considerably shorten the strap so it didn’t hit my knees.

Make it 1008, I've lost another lb overnight! I'm doing a pretty shit job of maintaining but hopefully it will stabilise when I taper off completely as I really don't want to lose any more now.

Fantastic!

Definitely keep plenty of fruit and veg prepped and ready to go for maintenance - my appetite is definitely getting stronger. It’s my birthday on Saturday and I’m definitely feeling like I could eat ALL the treats!

Here is my first post on November starters threat 2024….

lovealongbath · 13/11/2024 09:49
I’m ready to start.
Have researched and googled ✅
Pen arrives today ✅
positive mind set ✅
I can do this 💪

One year later, what have I achieved?

I have lost 25% of my starting weight.
I have lost 61.8 lbs or 28kg.
I was in morbidly obese category with a BMI of 43, I am now in obese category with BMI of 33.
Size 22 trousers are now size 18.
Size 26 tops are now size 18.

Positives from being on MJ….
I have titrated slowly, after 1 year , I am still not on 5 mg dose so there has been very few side effects.
My psoriasis has completely gone. I have had years of pain, ugly skin, lotions and potions and steroid creams. All gone, how crazy is that!
I am bizarrely content with where I am at the moment, if I lose more, that’s great, but if I don’t lose any more, I’m ok with that as well.
I look tidier, neater and have more pride in myself.
I don’t need an extender seat belt in my DH van, I did before.

Negatives from being on MJ….
Dog breath, OMG, my mouth is vile when I waken up.
Hair loss. My background is tricology, I have an understanding of hair growth and loss, I have tried to be patient waiting for the hair growth cycle to restart again, but it’s slow, very slow.

Finance…..
I have been very lucky that my initial 2 pens cost a total of £207 and every subsequent pen has been free. I was one of those annoying people that shared their MedExpress code everywhere. Many people used my code which gave me a LOT of credit!!!
However, what I have saved on MJ, I have spent on shark face mask, collagen, flax seed, retinol and new clothes.

When I started, my goal was to lose enough weight that I could see my pubes in the bath. Still can’t see them without squishing tummy down, so I will keep plodding on .

Congratulations to everyone reaching their 1 year date and thank you for accompanying me on my journey.

💪

Congratulations! I love this! Your original goal was one of the most original (and funniest) - you will achieve it in no time 💪🏻💪🏻

Over 1000lbs! Wow! A concert grand piano, about five adult men, 11 bags of cement, or a fully grown male reindeer. Those reindeers are surprisingly heavy eh?

In other news, ironically given the thread title, I’ve gone from having loads of winter coats to choose from to a dwindled supply because a couple are suddenly too big. I’ve got my Weirdfish warm waterproof (cute with birds on, though not v smart), a black trespass one (cosy and warm, waterproof, again not v smart) and a Fatface purple puffy thing (which I bought years ago in the sale, only fits now so god knows what I was thinking 🤣). So I have three casual coats (too many perhaps!) but nothing smart - had a minor panic this morning because I’m going into the office and out this evening. I’ve settled for the black Trespass coat for now. May need to either just put up with it (let’s face it, I rarely need to look smart these days) or scour vinted.

I am however braving my new Boden animal print jeans! With a black jumper which has an embellished neck for a bit of glitz. I’m not an animal print person at all but saw a lady on instagram making them look fabulous (petite lady) (I’m not generally petite at 5 6 but my legs seem to be in trousers!) and I decided to be brave 😳

On the topic of Vinted, anyone noticed the sizing change debacle? All the size 16 items listed went to 22-24! Fortunately I only had a few bits on so wasn’t too much of a faff to adjust the sizing (I have a pile of things to list). It’s messed up the algorithm though, all my saved searches went squiffy too. It’s mostly just showing me toys and puzzles for my DS at the moment, as if it knows the clothing has gone a bit tits up 🤣

I love an animal print! Embrace it 🥰

Loving the fact we’ve collectively lost the weight of a Reindeer - very festive!

I think this is latest status - can I tack on my 36lbs?

1097…

was my Mounjaroversary this week. Will post stats over the weekend!

greenfairy90 · 13/11/2025 20:56

Can I add my 66 pounds?

1163 Grin

RayonSunrise · 13/11/2025 21:10

You can @greenfairy90! 🙌

lovealongbath · 13/11/2025 21:27

1163 + 63 =1,226

Happy Friday! Good morning everyone. Just 1lb off this week (Wednesday involved post work drinkies at the opening of a new wine bar in Manchester) (I mean, free drinks, calorie free right?!) (although I may have had a BK Whopper at the train station on the way home…).

However a nice thing the scales have informed me is that my Renpho age is just 1 year higher than my real age 🎉

Have a lovely Friday

🥳🥳🥳 for the continuing loss and free booze 🙌

My days of having a dirty burger are over sadly. The chicken and chips I ‘treated’ myself to two weeks ago have had the longest lasting effect on my digestive system known to man 😭

Good morning all! It’s my Mounjaroversary! Here are my stats.

Starting weight: 12 st 7, BMI 32
Current weight: 9 st 3.6, BMI 23.7
Total loss: 45.4 lbs
Start clothes size: Struggling to fit into anything but refusing to buy clothes bigger than a 14. Mostly buying 12s and stretching them. I looked awful.
Current clothes size : 8-10. The jeans I’m wearing are an 8, the new skirt I bought last week is a 10.

I’m really happy at this size - I’m treating every office day as a fashion show. The only downside is that I worked my way right down my wardrobe in size order and my favourite jeans and trousers no longer fit!

PinkArt · 14/11/2025 10:22

Weighing in.

W54D7
SW: 19st 9lbs
CW:14st 02lbs
1st GW: 17st 13lbs
2nd GW 15st 4lbs
3rd GW: 13st 9lbs
TL: 5st 07lb

No change this week, but that's fair enough after last week's woohsh. I'm back to the old pattern of being lighter on a Wednesday than a Friday!
