I’m ready to start.
Have researched and googled ✅
Pen arrives today ✅
positive mind set ✅
I can do this 💪
One year later, what have I achieved?
I have lost 25% of my starting weight.
I have lost 61.8 lbs or 28kg.
I was in morbidly obese category with a BMI of 43, I am now in obese category with BMI of 33.
Size 22 trousers are now size 18.
Size 26 tops are now size 18.
Positives from being on MJ….
I have titrated slowly, after 1 year , I am still not on 5 mg dose so there has been very few side effects.
My psoriasis has completely gone. I have had years of pain, ugly skin, lotions and potions and steroid creams. All gone, how crazy is that!
I am bizarrely content with where I am at the moment, if I lose more, that’s great, but if I don’t lose any more, I’m ok with that as well.
I look tidier, neater and have more pride in myself.
I don’t need an extender seat belt in my DH van, I did before.
Negatives from being on MJ….
Dog breath, OMG, my mouth is vile when I waken up.
Hair loss. My background is tricology, I have an understanding of hair growth and loss, I have tried to be patient waiting for the hair growth cycle to restart again, but it’s slow, very slow.
Finance…..
I have been very lucky that my initial 2 pens cost a total of £207 and every subsequent pen has been free. I was one of those annoying people that shared their MedExpress code everywhere. Many people used my code which gave me a LOT of credit!!!
However, what I have saved on MJ, I have spent on shark face mask, collagen, flax seed, retinol and new clothes.
When I started, my goal was to lose enough weight that I could see my pubes in the bath. Still can’t see them without squishing tummy down, so I will keep plodding on .
Congratulations to everyone reaching their 1 year date and thank you for accompanying me on my journey.
