Welcome to thread 14!

Link to our last thread here:

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we enter Autumn knowing that ALL of our Winter coats will do up 🥰

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and new stone brackets!

I’m on W47 D2 and on w2 of my second titrating down pen of 5.0mg

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 7.0lbs
GW 9st 0lb

Total loss so far 61.0 lbs (at 9st 6.0)

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Thank you @lovealongbath - a kindred spirit!Smile

I have been a size 24 for the last 15 or so years so to be able to go into Oliver Bonas find a nice pair of standard jeans on the rack put them on and actually like how they look on me- is a dream I never thought I would achieve Grin- it's been a year yesterday I started MJ and I'm going to continue until I get to around 12st 7 . I'm 14st 2 now.

My happy place is a size 14- I'm a curvy tall woman so anything smaller wouldn't sit right on me IYKWIM.

Just wanted to share how happy this small thing that most people don't even think about has made me today!

Lil update from me. I'm still a few weeks away from my anniversary. I'm a late November baby...

I reached my ultimate goal weight of 9 1/2 stone 5 weeks ago, and haven't had trouble maintaining it so far. I do bringe occasionally (have had ice cream and chocolate in large quantities this week), but perhaps is not as bad as I think. I've homecooked several lovely meals this week, having made more of an effort to fill my fridge with good stuff.

I do have a tendency to feel invincible and like I can't gain when I'm around the 10st mark, so need to keep weighing myself regularly for sure.

What's been really lovely is my DM finally seems on board with my new weight. She was the leader of the 'do not lose any more' brigade. However, one of my cousins, who is about my old size, has been diagnosed diabetic. We had a good chat with her and I explained to her about the dangers of insulin resistance, diet, and how being a healthy weight and eating wholefoods helps with things like diabetes, PCOS, blood pressure etc.

She's in fact changed her own diet to include less added sugars and more natural ingredients, fresh fruit etc. She's not badly overweight, BMI around 25, but she's lost a bit of weight herself, and is no longer calling me 'bloody anorexic' like she's done in the past.

Dunno if you guys can relate, and it shouldn't matter, but I feel a small surge of inner peace knowing that my DM is accepting me as I am. I feel a lot closer to her now than I have in years. Being loved as you are is a lovely feeling.

Aww this is lovely to read. Congratulations on achieving your goal ahead of your anniversary!

Also, glad you are closer to your Mum. I reflect on my relationship with mine as a mother myself and literally cannot understand how she behaved as she did. I also know an apology /reconciliation would never have been forthcoming either so no point trying to analyse it. It’s always good to resolve issues so glad you’ve resolved yours 🥰

Welcome to our little safe place in cyberspace.

I feel exactly the same as you. Even though some people still regard size18 as big, it is so liberating to be able to buy nice clothes that I like, rather than something that fits.

A year ago today, I was researching, a year ago tomorrow, I ordered my first pen. I too, haven’t told anyone in real life, not even my husband.

Aww. So glad you’re able to share here. We’ve got you, our lovely friend 💐

Hello,

I have been following this thread since last year with interest but never post- so here goes.

If you have never been fat I don't think you realise what a toll it takes on you mentally and physically- I would fob this off and say - I don't care that I'm fat, I don't care that I can't buy the clothes I would like, I don't like clothes, I prefer to stay in, I don't want to go to the beach or go swimming, I don't want to be the centre of attention or feel desired.

But I DO care, I've lost 4st 9 over the last year on MJ- I haven't told a soul not even my partner how I have done it - it sounds so trivial but the feeling I had today going into a fashionable store picking up a size 18 pair of jeans off the rail them fitting like a glove and actually liking what I saw in the mirror - honestly winning the lottery wouldn't have felt better.

I've been fat for 20 years ( since I lost both my mum and dad within a year) ate my grief and didn't stop- I have forgotten what it is like to buy the clothes you want not just the ones you can fit into- for men to look at you and be attracted to you- for people to see you, and the most important thing to look in the mirror and actually think - I look beautiful and deserve good things - at 50 I didn't think I'd feel like that again.

I don't want to sound too dramatic but honestly- I am reborn Smile- don't let anyone tell you shouldn't be using MJ- I would do it again in a heartbeat 💗

Genuinely tearing up reading this. In addition to my other post, I’d add Welcome to our little gang and just to say well done missus! So happy for you 🥰

Hahaha I loooove this!!

But I'd probably turn the screw a bit more and imply I had a real drinking problem, maybe slightly imply I've found Jesus now, etc... Or that I have indeed taken up heroin and whether they'd like some. I do a killer deadpan face, so reckon I'd get away with it.

😂

Thought I’d share some stats - I didn’t have smart scales until Jan so it’s not reflecting my progress since November but it’s something. 1st pic Jan, next two are from today.

I had gestational diabetes when preggers so it’s always been on my mind, my HBA1C last summer was 37 and at my most recent test, 26!

My blood pressure was in the normal range ish but at the higher side of normal, but is now good (74/113).

My cholesterol has never been bad fortunately, currently 3.9 (LDL 1.6, HDL 1.9, triglycerides 0.8).

Still have too much body fat. Working on this!

You’ve done so well. So happy for you 🥳💪👏🙌

@PinkArtall the klaxons and fireworks. 💥

Id reduced drinking before MJ, and rarely have anything when I’m not on holiday. Did have a G&T and an ice cream at the theatre weds (Elf, was meh, go to Paddington instead, if you can get tickets) instead of dinner.
I do find all the extra effects fascinating. Love hearing all the successes in different areas.
Right now I wish it was doing more for the inflammation in my thumb joints.

Still not in the 70s, my bowels are back to all or nothing and right now it’s nothing and I’m feeling so heavy.
Having strong coffee this morning.

My bowel issues are the only issue I’ve had. Bloody annoying but not as being 62lbs heavier IMO. Keep buggering on!

Think I will add costs into my stats taking my stash into account @PinkArt Your visceral fat score is great, wish I had done that measurement.

I have been using a small fancy notebook as a type of mini tracking diary for my MJ journey. A6 size. The first half of the notebook is a catalogue of 20 years of diet failure, it was given to me as a birthday present by a friend just as we joined Weight Watchers 😂 The MJ half is very colourful and positive which I have occasionally illustrated ( I am not a great artist). I reckon I can reach Christmas entries in same book so will hopefully break into the 9 stone something category.

I went out last night and chose the lowest calorie items on the menu asking for salad dressing to be on the side. I drove so only had one glass of wine. I can make good choices even as we enter the festive period - just got to get through it. End of October 24 I ate a multipack of chocolate Halloween treats on my own in one day and a week later I was taking my first jab.

Such a difference in your relationship with food/treats. Amazing 🙌

Anniversary weighing in as tomorrow is a year since I started 🥳

W53D7
SW: 19st 9lbs
CW:14st 02lbs
1st GW: 17st 13lbs
2nd GW 15st 4lbs
3rd GW: 13st 9lbs
TL: 5st 07lb

What a week for a woosh as I hit my 5.5 stone target, the equivalent of a gold brick.

Yearly progress stats:
Weight: 19st 9 lbs > 14st 02 lbs (down 5 stone 7 pounds)
BMI: 42.2 > 31.2 (down 12)
Body fat: 57.3% > 38.8% (down 18.5)
Visceral fat: 23% > 13% (down 10)
Subcutaneous fat: 48.8% > 34.2% (down 14.6)
Weight loss %: 28%
Left to go: 2 stone 12 pounds
Average lost per week: 1.45 pounds
Cost: £19.68/ pound and £29.14/ week

Like my mum did, I have a block about buying clothes above a size 16, so I'm not sure how many dress sizes I've dropped. But in Primark leggings I've gone from the XLs (18-20) being tight around my tummy to Ls (14-16) being a comfy fit.
Bafflingly I have still only dropped one bra size!
My blood sugars have gone from the lower end of pre diabetes to the higher end of normal.
Likely related to my blood sugars normalising is that ‘it seems like thrush but it's not thrush but we don't actually know what it is’ has gone away.
I no longer carry imodium in the same way other people carry their phones, thanks to my digestive system slowing to normal people speed.
I don't have to hold my breath doing up my shoes, am not out of breath walking 2 mins to the shop, I don't go to bed feeling ashamed of myself for not managing to start yet another diet.
I'm just glossing past the ongoing stomach ache for now because today is about the good stuff.

THAAAAAAANK YOOOOOOU all for being SUCH a big part of this 'journey' with me. You've been such a support but also just a delight to spend time with. I knew I'd found the people who'd understand me rewarding myself with jewellery when talk turned to Gucci shoes!

Amazing result! And only going down one bra size to boot! 🥳 congratulations and thanks also for being such a cheerleader to everyone on here 🥰

It is absolutely lovely checking in here and reading all your updates - happy Mounjaroversary, everyone! So good to hear about all the progress, and have so many have said already it’s not really just about the scale numbers. The health improvements, the boost to self-esteem, the confidence - it’s been a really restorative year on all counts. Really great to hear from @greenfairy90and @lovealongbath- congrats, you’re doing great!

My actual year start is later this coming week. I’ve not weighed in yet, but I did go on a round on trying clothes on this weekend and have confirmed I am a size 10 in pretty much all lines - which is wonderful, and terrible because it means I no longer have a pair of perfect black wool trousers that fit. 😂 Oh well, back to Vinted again!

@Mounjaropen I can’t remember if I updated after my maintence call. The prescriber (not Hira) was pretty open about my options. In the end I decided to stick with Mounjaro a little longer while I reduce my dose, and then consider switching or stopping altogether in the NY with the option of going back on a low dosage if I wish. Currently on 10 days between doses and a 7.5mg pen, and will go down to 5mg for my next one and see how the holiday season goes. (Now there’s a test…!)

It’s really interesting reading about everyone’s different reactions to the medication and how it’s changed people’s diets. I’ve not had as dramatic a change as some of you - I still love a glass of wine and have a few per week, I love dark chocolate, sometimes I have some crisps - but I just don’t keep eating, which for me has been brilliant. I’m even back to baking bread and have no urge to crack into loaves fresh from the oven.

Long may it continue for us all!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 09/11/2025 23:16

@greenfairy90, that was a beautiful post, thank you!

@RayonSunrise, I have also developed a terrible Vinted habit. I bought a plaid Cos coat this morning and a new black bra yesterday. The coat was actually available in an 8 and a 10 from different sellers, but I bought the 10 because it was £45 cheaper. It’s amazing being able to buy small sizes and then they fit! I’ve also bought a Ganni knitted vest with crazy cats on it, which I adore. I bought a navy Arket cord miniskirt and Tesco sports bra and leggings this week as well (not from Vinted). I MUST rein it in.

Oh, that haul sounds amazing and joyful! Enjoy wearing. I tend to think about the amount of money I’ve saved over the past few years because I haven’t bought myself any really properly fancy clothes because of my size. Plus being a mum, he tend to put the needs of everyone else above your own, don’t you? I’m now footloose and fancy free And able to wear pretty much whatever designer I fancy so I’m embracing it all. 😂

Thanks for the update. At the moment I’m on 3.75 mg on a weekly dose from my 5 mg pen. Seems to be going well, I’m bouncing around between 132 to a maximum of 134lbs which I am happy with. I’m going to stick with ordering 5 mg pens after I have used this one and the spare one I have in the fridge up because I think it gives more flexibility and works out cheaper in the long run. 🤞

Have crawled down to 10 stone 2lb /64.4kg/ 142lbs. Just 6lbs to go to reach my goal of 9 stone 10/ 61.7kg/ 136lbs with a healthy BMI (obviously top end). I have lost just under a pound a week over the past 4 weeks. I would love a whoosh between now and Christmas but at least I should be under 10 stone.

Ooh shall we have a tally? If I start, then the next person to post can add onto mine and so on until everyone has added theirs?

I've lost exactly 100lbs! (a nice easy one for whoever is adding their number!) Or 45kg if you prefer.

so 100 @evilharpy plus 61 @Mounjaropen plus me 80 takes us to 241lbs

So 161+80 = 241lbs including The Slimming Pumpkin

amazing losses here. Well done everyone x
