Welcome to thread 14!

Link to our last thread here:

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we enter Autumn knowing that ALL of our Winter coats will do up 🥰

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and new stone brackets!

I’m on W47 D2 and on w2 of my second titrating down pen of 5.0mg

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 7.0lbs
GW 9st 0lb

Total loss so far 61.0 lbs (at 9st 6.0)

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Gained a pound this week 🤦🏻‍♀️ I've been grazing way more than I have since starting mounjaro over the last week or two. Weirdly I haven't had what feels like loud food noise with it though, I just seem to have slid back into some bad habits.
I'm going back up to 5mg this week and giving myself a kick up the bum that I need to work with the mounjaro to get my head back in the game. I bought myself a 6 stones lost reward this week as the jewellery shop had 20% off. I really want to wear the ring so there's the carat/ carrot 😂

I love this approach! Treated myself to some sparkly rings this week too!

Well done on the run @TheSlimmingPumpkin how are you feeling about run 3? You’ve definitely got this 🏃‍♀️

I’m just back from a health check. My blood sugar is the lowest she’s seen 😇 I mentioned MJ and the nurse said they are seeing better results for those that are paying for it privately and those that are being prescribed it. She says those of us paying for it are generally taking it along with other health improving measures. Whereas those being prescribed it are struggling with the life changes alongside and maybe don’t value it as much as it’s not such a cost.

That's so interesting @cantbesure. I guess most of us here spent quite some time investigating and debating whether we would start MJ or not and then were motivated to find a supplier. I wonder if it feels less like your own decision when it's prescribed by the NHS? And of course the associated cost with a private prescription is definitely a motivator for many

Happy Friday death jabbers! Had a very stressful week in London with work - huge presentation to senior leadership team but it went well and I wore my Vinted Jimmy Choo shoes all day so felt very kick ass corporate!

Again, i repeat my request for @Mounjaropen to set up a residential Husband Training school please. You would make millions! Mine is pretty well trained tbh but coffee/tea/breakfast in bed has never been part of his repetoire. Until recently that is! After 21 years of marriage and 27 years together, Im suddenly being brought coffee in the morning. Absolutely not complaining! (BTW replied to your vit D and creatine post but mumsnet have hidden it for review. Weird)

Still no weightloss to report here but pilates is definitely shrinking my waist.

Kathy Burke was very good, and it was a bargain £40 included a copy of the book.

Hello! I'm so sorry I've been quiet. It's been a bit crazy. Business trips. Two in a row, with just a week at home in-between. Trip 1 to Singapore, trip 2 to Sydney, so I've spent an insane amount of time on planes. I'm in fact typing this message from a plane... I'm somewhere between India and Qatar right now, according to the map I'm looking at...

I have no idea what my weight is, but it's been so very noticeable that my whole relationship with food is different now. I always ate a LOT on work trips. They serve you so much food on planes, and then I love to try new things, etc. And I still do, but just so much less of everything. We went out for a team meal with huge sharing platters yesterday. And somehow I really just wanted the salad and the roast cauliflower and some halloumi, and I think I stopped eating way before the others. I also skipped dinner on two evenings and just picked up a yoghurt and some fruit from the supermarket.

I'll weigh when I get home, obviously, but I'm maintaining now, continuing to take 5 mg once a week. I don't get a lot of suppression or crazy fullness any more as such, but the food noise is obviously still gone.

I've also been shopping again, obvs, and bought a navy fit and flare kind of dress at Cos in size 10. Very nice for the business meetings I had to be in. I tried several dresses and was a 10 in all of them, and a Reiss coat that I tried also fit better in 10 than 12. That's just so amazing to me.

And finally - I wasn't the biggest person on the work team pics that they took this week. Ha!

Morning all,

Sharing this article (apologies it’s a Daily Fail link) in case anyone following is offered ‘cheap’ or ‘mega dose’ MJ or OZ. The pricing hike has created a demand for cheaper products so this horrifying story is probably just one of many in the years to come… 😩

Thousands of illegal weightloss jabs worth £250K found in factory raid

At least 2,000 pens labelled as containing tirzepatide and retatrutide were seized along with tens of thousands of empty pens and raw chemicals.

Wow, the trips sound fantastic! I love Singapore. Hope you got to enjoy a Gin Sling in Raffles!

The clothing haul sounds lovely! I hope you relished being the skinny Minnie in the team photos 👏👏👏

Ooh, why the sudden change in behaviour? Is it the WL? So strange how men up their game in case we run off with someone else because we are now more attractive isn’t it? I do find this interesting 🤔 I put mine down to empty nesting and the fact that ‘action’ is available at all times of the day now 😂

Thanks for the reply about the creatine. Have you found you’ve gained weight? How much are you taking?

I've not noticed any weight gain, no. I take 1 teaspoon a day of the Nutrition Geeks powder which is 3.5g I believe

No idea why I'm suddenly getting coffee in bed! Think he's buttering me up for some weekend action 😂

Goldleafcat · 25/10/2025 12:49

@Mounjaropen I’ve been taking creatine approx 5 days a week for a little while now and haven’t noticed weight gain. I think it can cause a bit of water retention (as it pulls water into the muscle, apparently!) and some people experience bloating. I normally take a scoop a day which is around 3g. I think the higher doses are associated with water retention. I’ve been using Impact creatine (MyProtein) from Holland & Barrett (it was on offer!).

I do definitely feel it helps when I’ve got Pilates.

Cantbesure · 25/10/2025 15:38

@Goldleafcat how do you take it and can you taste it?

Goldleafcat · 26/10/2025 07:05

Cantbesure · 25/10/2025 15:38

@Goldleafcat how do you take it and can you taste it?

I normally take it in coffee or dissolved in water. I read that ideally you don’t take it in coffee because of caffeine but the evidence on this is mixed. I’ve not personally noticed it diminishing the effect anyway!

I haven’t found a taste to it, but the texture can be a bit gritty (particularly at the bottom of a glass of water, hence why I prefer it in coffee). Gummies are prob a good alternative.

Im adding creatine and collagen to my coffee these days. Soon I’ll be drinking sludge 🤣

MontyJinks · 26/10/2025 09:31

EEK! Just taken my last dose of Mounjaro...

(Unless it all goes tits up and then I'll be back on it quicker than you can say "I am an Oushker')

Cantbesure · 26/10/2025 14:29

Good luck @MontyJinks the hunger was a shock to me. I’d enjoyed the security of the lack of food noise and appetite suppressant. But if you build on your good habits and keep tracking and weighing you can definitely keep the weight off. I’m 18 weeks in and maintaining.

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 26/10/2025 15:14

@MontyJinks have you been tritating downwards? You are not just going cold turkey 😱

I reckon I am a month or two away from the maintenance shenanigans

You’re brave adding both of those to your coffee! I can just about tolerate collagen in my morning coffee, but I prefer it stirred into Greek yoghurt. Maybe yoghurt is going to be my main carrier for dietary supplements.

MontyJinks · 26/10/2025 19:43

@Cantbesure - thank you, that's just what I need to hear! That's my main concern, the return of the dreaded and incessant food noise. Hopefully, as you say, the habits I've built up over the past year will see me through.

@TheSlimmingPumpkin - yes, I've titrated down from 7.5mg, I did one pen at 5mg and one pen at 2.5mg. I had my maintenance call with Oushk on Wednesday and have gone onto the Flexi programme to give myself the safety net should I need to go back on at any point. I'm just going to go for it and see how it goes.

Regarding supplements: I take my collagen and my creatine in my evening cup of tea, along with a multivitamin. I drink, and enjoy, the majority of my tea, then mix the powders into my last sip, which I grin and bear 😂

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 26/10/2025 22:11

I’ve just discovered that one of my best friends is also on the expensive death jabs! Last time I saw her was in Aug, and I totally didn’t notice. This time I walked in and she looked stunning and I was 98% sure. Then she said she was cold even though the fire was on and I knew! I confessed I was on them and she immediately said “so am I!” She said she’s been on them since April, and she guessed I was on them when she saw me in August, but because I didn’t say anything nor did she. So we had a lovely discussion about all things MJ, and it was like listening to myself - she said she knew she could lose 2 stone without help but not 4, and that’s exactly what I thought. She’s titrating down now too and also doesn’t want to stop before Christmas. She’s losing hair too but she has loads of curly hair so you can’t see it on her. She told me to buy collagen and swore it didn’t taste bad, so I’m going to order some and cross my fingers.

How spooky! Whenever someone has DM'd me on insta/FB and asked what I'm doing, I've been honest depending upon whether or not they need to consider WLI and they are trustworthy.

I've been taking the revive collagen sachets from H&B and they taste pleasant enough but they are not cheap unfortunately. Mind you, they are roughly £1.78 a day which I save from not buying all of the other crap that I used to buy (and forget I'd eaten). Exercising regularly at home also saves me a fair few quid.

Any top tips? My hunger is definitely returning after my week on 3.75mg but I'm leaning into it and eating non-processed foods when I feel it. I've also upped the speed on my treadmill walk to get into the fat burning phase. Not much more that we can do really - as long as we're not inhaling an entire packet of Jaffa cakes instead of a piece of fruit etc!

Just go back to basics and monitor your macros. All will be well with enough movement, water, good protein and non processed food.

You've got this💪
