Mounjaropen · 23/09/2025 21:06

Welcome to thread 14!

Link to our last thread here:

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/weight-loss-injections/5394264-mounjaro-starters-nov-24-thread-13-the-one-where-we-are-lucky-to-end-our-best-summer-in-years-thinner-and-more-comfortable-in-our-own-skin?page=40

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we enter Autumn knowing that ALL of our Winter coats will do up 🥰

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and new stone brackets!

I’m on W47 D2 and on w2 of my second titrating down pen of 5.0mg

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 7.0lbs
GW 9st 0lb

Total loss so far 61.0 lbs (at 9st 6.0)

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

@itsnotagameshow plateaus can be interesting. I am losing very slowly at the moment (have been holding at around 65.5kg for a bit), but am suddenly into some size 10 trousers I’ve not worn in years - so there is clearly still some body shape change going on. As I’m back to running again I am putting this down to my muscle mass increasing.

Delighted to hear you’re rocking high & low fashion together, @Mounjaropen- sounds like you had a lovely day out!

My precision mat arrived yesterday so now I need to subscribe to Pvolve to kick things off. Black Friday is a ways off to wait for a deal, though! I’m considering just biting the bullet.

Continuing with our mini S&B theme, I am quietly pleased to see knee boots and skirts on their way back. After a good few years of unstructured/casual/flat everything, a bit of tailoring is looking pretty fresh. And now I have a waist for it again, huzzah!

@MagnoliaTreePetals your maintenance updates are so helpful, thank you.

Plateaus are definitely interesting. I have dropped carbs by a lot so far this week and am starting to weigh daily just to see - I have a definite small loss going on day by day now. Well done on the running! Here's to all our emerging waists!

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 09/10/2025 14:24

Weigh in time

SW 15 stone 12. / 100.7 kg with a BMI of 42.4
CW 10 stone 6 / 66.2 kg with a BMI of 27.2

GW 9 stone 7 / 60.3 kg for a BMI of 24.8

Lost to date 5 stone 6 / 34.5 kg

Loss to go 13lbs / 5.9 kg

less than a stone to go I sense victory. I am claiming a less than a stone to go klaxon 😂🔔📣🔔📣🔔📣🔔📣

Even though c25k may build muscle I am sneaking slowly downwards.

RayonSunrise · 09/10/2025 15:01

Amazing work, @TheSlimmingPumpkin - or the Butternut as I think we decided? 😂

Happy unbirthday to me.... my Renpho age is now a year younger than me.
If I could turn back time... oh wait. I did.
At my goal of 9 stone and healthier in my mid 40s than when I was 30! 🎉

🥳🥳🥳🥳

I think you need one of these 🎂 🥰

DH is cross because my Renpho age is nearly 4 years younger than my actual age 😇. His is 6 years older which puts him in his sixties. He is not happy😂. But then eats a treble helping of spaghetti carbonara so it’s no wonder tbh 🙄 As they say, you cannot out train the wrong diet….

Friday update from me: 132.0lbs - staying stable on 5mg 💪, one more dose next week of 5mg then I think I’m going to stretch out the last 5.0mg pen by taking 2.5mg doses.

I’ve been trying to get to 250 completed classes of Pvolve by my mounjaroversary which is also my pvolversary which will equate to roughly 5 pw over the past year, so this week I’ve been double pvolving.. brutal but I can see the difference in my core in particular 💪. Yesterday was double tennis for me (lesson plus a match) and at the match last night my friend commented on my fitness level which would not have been the case a year ago. I am very grateful for having access to both to facilitate this.

Yesterday I nipped to Tesco to take advantage of the sale and picked up a lovely burgundy cardi with gold buttons - perfect length (sits in the waistband without being cropped) - £9 plus a lovely draped olive coloured satin top (£9.50) plus a Chanel-style mini dress for £13. I also had to buy smaller tights!

Looking forward to my vineyard visit tomorrow with the wine safari with friends - I shall be appropriately attired in 50 shades of claret/wine/burgundy 😂🍷🍷🍷

Wishing everyone the most fabulous weekend!

I’ve watched it all, and loved it. Victoria has arms possibly even better than St Jennifer of Aniston’s!

I don’t think that there needed to be any pearl clutching tbh. I think it’s actually very needed that people like VB acknowledge that they are incredibly slender/look youthful etc because they’ve either had work or have suffered from disordered or highly restrictive eating. The kids have grown up knowing nothing else and it’s clear that they are grounded, have a good relationship with their parents (maybe the eldest excepted) and have all chosen something in the spotlight to pursue (even Harper does make up tutorials).

If you love fashion, you’ll love it all.

🥳 to a new Pvolve buddy! I don’t think that the subscription gets any cheaper unless you purchase a big bundle so I’d bite the bullet tbh. Enjoy!

Fantastic! Hope the scales are kind to you at the end of the week 🥰

Thank you, they have been! From 92.45kg on Monday to 91.35 today! I have also just checked my measurements and I have lost 10cm off my waist and 10cm off my hips in the past three months so all very positive.

I am finding going low carb one of the keys to breaking this plateau, if that's helpful for anyone, but I also think upping the dose has helped.

I also might have to bite the bullet and keep on with 12.5mg, despite the expense (this is my second week on it). I have been googling the effects on the body of upping a dose if stuck and there are definite medical benefits apparently e.g. GIP/GLP-1 activity receptor activation increases, which subtly raises resting energy expenditure and an increased dose helps regulate enzymes involved in lipogenesis, such as acetyl-CoA carboxylase, so the body makes less new fat from carbohydrates.

Dh and I have exactly the same conversation. He's lost a lb despite not exercising this week as he hasn't been scoffing biscuits to compensate for training calories!

PinkArt · 10/10/2025 12:02

Weighing in.

W49D7
SW: 19st 9lbs
CW:14st 07lbs
1st GW: 17st 13lbs
2nd GW 15st 4lbs
3rd GW: 13st 9lbs
TL: 5st 02lb

Another pound off this week, so five and a half stone by Nov 8th still looks possible. I decluttered some ice cream from the freezer this week, to make space for some slow cooked stew type meals, so I'm glad that didn't derail things.

Off to lunch with a friend I've not seen since before covid in a bit. She has no filter so I was wondering if she might comment on my weight but then I remembered she didn't see me when it was at my worst. And then I also remembered that to would have found an excuse not to meet her when I was at my biggest, out of embarrassment, so that's a NSV.

jay55 · 10/10/2025 15:58

Well done losers, and those enduring plateaus without giving up.

I’ve had an annoying gain this week after getting the holiday weight off I expected a lull but not a gain when I’ve been pretty good.

NSV of a sort, met up with a friend last weekend and she’s joined us in jabbing, and has had great losses. She’s the only non family member outside this thread id told I was on them.
So I’m thrilled she’s now gone for it and doing so well. And that she’s experiencing the quiet brain too.

Oh my word. That thread is vicious. They all have a serious wedgy with their judgy pants i think.

I cannot wait to start watching it tonight! Resisted temptation last night or i would have done zero work today!

Caplin · 10/10/2025 21:04

Evening all, I’ve been a bit behind so lovely to see all your wins! I have been on a super slow loss/plateau since June, but this last two weeks things seem to have shifted and I haven’t really done anything different.

I think my body reached its ‘preferred’ weight, which is the weight I was before kids, and decided that is where I would land. But realistically I need to lose another stone or two to get vaguely close to the healthy BMI band. I think my body finally realised that I wasn’t keen to stop there, and I’ve lost 4lbs in two weeks. It took almost two months to lose 4 lbs before this! As PP said though, even though my weight stalled, I still seemed to lose inches and clothes kept getting looser. Still a size 16 in the bottom, but maybe sneaking into a medium up top.

I’ve become addicted to Hush joggers as I work from home, just ordered a third pair on Vinted.

MagnoliaTreePetals · 11/10/2025 10:37

Just watched/listened to the latest Zoe Podcast.
Absolutely fascinating, and really resonated with me as a long time dieter/gainer.
I had never heard of Leptin resistance.
Goes into the detail of set points, and why we lose/gain/lose/gain.

It also explains why I have done so well this time by cutting out sugar and most carbs, no snacking between meals and all the rest that MJ has helped me with. I Highly recommend it if you have an interest in nutrition and a further understanding of Obesity.

Can't wait to watch the VB documentary. Even if (hopefully) it's just to see her smile. I am a huge fan of any woman who has made a success of her life, and kept sane in the eye of continuous media storms.

This is a somewhat mixed week for me: 2 engagement parties, one wedding and a funeral!
Happy Saturday One and All.

Update on my Vinted dispute - the buyer destroyed the blouse and then sent it back to me in pieces!

Lesson learned: don’t sell anything nice for less than £20. I don’t want to run into another professional seller trying to get things free to resell and happy to screw with Vinted’s very trust-based processes to do it.

evilharpy · 11/10/2025 12:19

Hello death jabbing skinny bitches. I've not been keeping up so congrats to everyone who has hit milestones and had nsvs.

I'm down to 7.5mg every 9 days and will be off MJ completely after Christmas, I don't want to go cold turkey. The weight is still coming off although I don't really want it to. BMI is 21.8 and I hit 7 stone today but had never planned to lose that much and am starting to get comments from nice workmates who are genuinely worried about me. I think I need to start tracking calories and have a minimum threshold to try and maintain.
