Welcome to thread 14!

Link to our last thread here:

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/weight-loss-injections/5394264-mounjaro-starters-nov-24-thread-13-the-one-where-we-are-lucky-to-end-our-best-summer-in-years-thinner-and-more-comfortable-in-our-own-skin?page=40

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we enter Autumn knowing that ALL of our Winter coats will do up 🥰

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and new stone brackets!

I’m on W47 D2 and on w2 of my second titrating down pen of 5.0mg

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 7.0lbs
GW 9st 0lb

Total loss so far 61.0 lbs (at 9st 6.0)

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Grin There must have been something in the air last night. I really fancied a Bailey’s but ended up opening a rum cream called Bumbu, which DH bought me last year because the name made him snigger. It was lovely but far too easy to drink!

Love something with a name that makes me snigger.

I definitely also did not need to open my bottle of fancy Clase Azul tequila either. But I did. 😂

Ooh Cambodia /Vietnam is on my list too. Or Japan. Don’t you find everything seems so much more exciting now we can wear all the light clothing?

Can highly recommend Japan so far!

For those interested, I just had my Pvolve renewal through. It is $180 (£133 at today’s ER) for the next year and that gets me access to all of the live virtual studio classes as well as the 000’s in the library. If I were to keep up my 5 x pw habit (I hope to but I know I’ll be having an op at some point which means I won’t be able to do anything for 6 weeks) it would work out at 55p per class. Even in the 1980’s parish hall aerobics was more than that 😂

Oooh this is very tempting @Mounjaropen - do you subscribe through the app or some other way? I seem to remember you mentioning the Healf website but maybe that was just for the kit??

SerenePeer · 05/10/2025 16:01

I am absolutely swooning over the Victoria Beckham S/S 26 collection and have been scouring the Internet for a high street version of the grey suit VB was wearing 😍 That and some burgandy sling backs needs to be my autumn uniform i think. So if anyone find any gorgeous wide leg grey tailored trousers that will make me look like VB please send them my way!

Just had to list my beloved & Other Stories grey cardigan on Vinted because in a size large it looked truly awful on me. Within 3 minutes I had 5 offers of £5 below the listing price 🤬 Bloody chances. I was only asking £15 too as it is immaculate (I know it not a lux brand but I loved that cardigan! Something about the length and sleeves made it feel much more luxurious than it actually is).

Hope everyone has survived Storm Amy!

Yes, The subs are all managed by Pvolve. The UK distributor for the kit is Healf. When I bought the total transformation kit I got a code to activate my included 1yr subscription in the app/webpage. Look out for the Black Friday deals which will start at the end of this month, but ask Healf to match the US price ;-)

Love that suit too! I bet Zara will have a dupe. Looking forward to the VB documentary out on NF this week too. I was lucky enough to be invited to her initial brand launch at Harvey Nicks years ago, she was delightful.

Gucci have a gorgeous pair of patent burgundy sling backs right now. If they are too spendy, there are some great dupes of those on the high street.

Wind was biblical where I live, but other than the chimney coming off the kids old playhouse and the wheelie bins going for a burton, all was well.

Ooh good shout re Zara dupe! Cannot wait for the VB documentary. I think she's an incredible businesswoman - super smart to build Brand Beckham.

Well today, despite no change in scale weight for 2 weeks, I have no trousers that fit me 🙈 All my work trousers are now hanging off me with saggy baggy bums. I mean what a wonderful problem to have and as I work from home 80% of the time, not actually a massive issue! I could wear pyjama bottoms all day and nobody would know! But I like to feel and look the part when I'm working. So Boden and Zara order incoming.

It just really struck me that this time last year nothing fitted me for the opposite reason.

I also had my first negative comment from my mum last night. Pretty sure my brother (bumped into him in the supermarket- not seen him for 6 months and apparently I was unrecognisable) put the idea in her head as she's never once mentioned weight loss jabs to me and has commented positively on my weight loss every time I've seen her for the last 6/7 months. But last night it was "you're not on those awful weight loss jabs are you?". I just laughed and told her to stop reading the Daily Mail so much. But it's reminded me to be careful who I share this with that's for sure.

Ahh yes, I can only imagine what my mother would’ve been saying if she was still with us..but undoubtedly the Daily Mail would’ve been her main source of knowledge 😂

Have you done a MeThreeSixty? It always boosts my mood during a period when the scales just aren’t shifting? But will almost certainly explain why your trousers are baggy (cue Madness 🎶😂)

The only person I’ve been genuinely shocked by their transformation is the TV chef/personality Andi Oliver (her instagram yesterday showed how much she’s lost - she looks fantastic but very very different - cue the horrific judgy posts from some keyboard warriors) but it did make me think - is that how I must look to other people who say ‘I didn’t recognise you!’ ?

Enjoy your new clothing order!

Hello death jabbers. Can we talk melted candle thighs? I'm doing fairly ok on the loose skin front, considering how big I was at my starting weight - chin isn't flappy, tummy has some wobble but is still fat enough to hold it's shape - but my inner thighs are looking very melted. What's worked for folks? Do I need to (shudder) exercise?

Queen of the melted skin here… I can tell you that topical creams make very little difference, UF treatment ditto… Mine is slowly improving but that is due to upping my toning work on Pvolve (and I’m talking five times per week here) I think it is a case of genetics, and time. The skin on my tummy is probably the worst, but my arms have definitely responded well. I think it’s probably the luck of the draw combined with how much water you are drinking and obviously age plays a great factor.… Sorry I don’t have a magic silver bullet to share with you all!

Well that's quite rude that you don't have a magical - and very low effort - solution!

Ladies, I’m after some fashion advice and too scared to post in Style & Beauty.
I’ve been living under a bit of a fashion rock since Covid and then having a DC, but tentatively crawling out and sniffing the air, especially since MJ and now said DC is getting a bit bigger (I’m hoping I won’t have to tote a backpack everywhere I go soon).

What are views on handbags? I do have some nice Coach ones which have not seen the light of day for a while. Are they still in? What styles should I look to wear? How to wear them? Have taken a pics of a couple. Problem is when I go into the office I’m normally lugging a laptop around in a backpack so rarely get to use them!

lol at posting in S&B - knock that idea on the head 😂

I think you are overthinking the bags. Do you love them? If yes, use them! If no, list them on vinted and go again. Who cares if they are ‘in’? I have bags which are decades old (Gucci etc) which I still use because I love them. Go for something classic in a colour you can use with a variety of outfits. Coach is a great price point. Yes, you can buy ‘it’ bags but they tend to date quickly (I’m looking at you pink prada nylon and camera bags…😂). I have a variety of Gucci Marmonts in various sizes (red, cream, black), a couple of gucci totissima style bags in bright colours, a large black prada Galleria (10+ years old) which fits a laptop but is never out of fashion and then I have a beautiful limited edition Chanel which is my ‘going out’ bag. I also have a couple of Burberry clutches which never go out of fashion. I also have some Michael Kors Jet set bags in fancy colours to add a splash of colour to an outfit. I also have some Anya Hinchmarch’s in various sizes. Goodness, now I read that back, it is a lot - I’d like to say a lot of these were gifts from DH or treats to myself when I was in the corporate rat race.

If you use a laptop bag regularly, spend money on one of those maybe? Then buy a smaller handbag?

Shudder away @PinkArt I think exercise is the answer, but it doesn't have to be anything too major.
I got to my target about 6 weeks ago. I had the dilemma of whether or not to continue to try and lose the tummy roll, but didn't want to lose more off my face or boobs. So chose to switch from operation 'lose weight' to operation 'stay the same'.
I have continued with my exercises (very tame compared to our amazing Pvolve group leader), and have noticed the shrunken balloon effect, and tummy roll, starting to slowly improve. I do some floor exercises most mornings & some arm weight exercises (only a kilo), swim a couple of times a week (If I can) and a decent 1 hour walk a couple of times a week (If I can).
I HATE exercising, so finding something that I like, and doing what I can, when I can has meant I have done more in the past year than in the past 58 put together.

Guys these were NOT the kind of answers I was looking for. Some sort of nice body lotion maybe. Or a witches spell. Exercise though?! Life is soooo unfaaaaaaair.

I have the same issue. I considered bulldog clips round the back (or gaffer tape) to at least make them look less melty from the front angle but then thought it would render sitting even more problematic than my bony arse currently does.

DD has suggested using the 'ETSY Witches'. Apparently you can pay them to weave their magic and wave their wands. I can't say it's a method that has been rigorously tested with a double blind trial though! 😂

Oooh, but if we could gather all of the extra squish together and use it as a sort of human cushion....

RayonSunrise · 06/10/2025 20:11

I am starting to want to live in @Mounjaropen’s wardrobe. 😂

I have to echo everyone on the exercise front, it’s the thing that builds up your shape after weight loss erodes it. It’s taken me a while to get to it too, despite me knowing that!

My pvolve kit has arrived! Now all I need is a precision mat and a sunscription…

Ok ok....I wasn't going to share but I've heard good things about simply collecting the tears of your enemies and the bitterness of judgy relatives and rubbing that in. Worth a shot 😉
