Mounjaropen · 23/09/2025 21:06

Welcome to thread 14!

Link to our last thread here:

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/weight-loss-injections/5394264-mounjaro-starters-nov-24-thread-13-the-one-where-we-are-lucky-to-end-our-best-summer-in-years-thinner-and-more-comfortable-in-our-own-skin?page=40

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we enter Autumn knowing that ALL of our Winter coats will do up 🥰

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and new stone brackets!

I’m on W47 D2 and on w2 of my second titrating down pen of 5.0mg

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 7.0lbs
GW 9st 0lb

Total loss so far 61.0 lbs (at 9st 6.0)

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Hello all - needing to vent a bit. I’ve dipped a toe into selling a few pieces on Vinted and my first item (a pretty blouse, barely worn) has been received and immediately disputed - the buyer is brazenly lying about its condition. I am absolutely furious!

That's really annoying. I hope they side with you

Oh how infuriating! I’m a member of some vinted groups on Facebook and it’s ridiculous what you see sometimes. Bloody scammers. Fingers crossed vinted side with you. Otherwise just tell them to return it, at their cost. Sods.

In other Vinted news I am actually annoyed with Vinted themselves today. Uploaded a pair of gorgeous Next soft touch burgundy / plum jeans I pretty much missed the window of opportunity to wear (I bought them a few years ago and they were squirrelled away). Vinted deleted the listing and sent me a grumpy message saying it was a duplicate listing and threatening if I break their rules too often they would ban me! Erm it’s my bedroom and never listed the item before?! Maybe it’s because it was on white bedding so it looks similar, their AI bots couldn’t decide. There’s no option to reply either. I don’t know whether to reupload or not to in case they ban me or something ridiculous 🙄

RayonSunrise · 04/10/2025 17:59

Thanks @DarkForces and @Goldleafcat- I’ve done some very quick research and it looks like there’s no real arbitration on Vinted, so I went straight to “send it back.” Then she was clearly pissed off about me not dithering around trying to plead with her to keep it! Looking at her profile she sells multiple items per day herself, so I suspect she was trying to get it for free to resell. What a chancer!

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 04/10/2025 18:08

I have turned down reduce the price please offers from people who are clearly ‘professional’ vinted sellers.

Loving all the coat related updates. As someone who has avoided all clothes shops for years I am surprised at how much I am enjoying shopping.

Congratulations on that fantastic loss!

Any chance you are coming down with something? Could be why you don’t fancy food. Or you might just be super responder?

Start steady with the cardio - a fast paced walk 4x pw until your body adjusts - it might just be the shock it feels when you exert with no warning?

Edit to add: on the subject of slim friends, I’d say something about BMR rates being lower than you’d ever realised blah blah.

Edited

Thank you 🤩

Oh for the past 6 months of my MJ journey, not fancying food has been an issue, sometimes to the extreme - so maybe super responder? I did lose close to a stone during my first week (obvs not ‘real’ weight), so…

However I’m am now gradually and consciously eating more and still losing, it seems.

I don’t really have any issues with cardio, can do a 15-mile hike no problem whenever I fancy. However with strength training I don’t tend to lose much, with cardio, the weight drops off me. Anytime I’ve lost weight, cardio + better diet have done it - weird I know. I won’t start regular cardio just yet - want to see how my body reacts to eating more and being on less MJ first. I love dancing though and a night out seems to always bring the hipbones out 🤣

Yes, good point about BMR! Might bring that up when they ask as I guess they have seen me eat less. Probably drop in UPFs too.

That sounds like a relief! Congratulations on the positive feedback. I think it’s important to reach a weight that you feel confident you can maintain, because right now we all feel very positive and there is no point doing something that creates negativity in order that you fit nicely on a chart somewhere.

I’m having all of my bloods done again this time with my B12 levels being checked. It’s possible the doctor said that it is testosterone in my HRT regime which is affecting the hair loss, and if I think back over the last few weeks, I’ve had a few senior moments when I’m not sure if I put testosterone on yesterday or the day before so I think I may have accidentally overdosed myself a couple of times. That would make sense, because literally nothing else has changed in the past four weeks. The doctor was really thorough and actually listen to my concerns about osteoporosis etc (my mother had it) and has also included a bone count within the bloods. Obviously the most likely cause is MJ, but I can’t see how this is the most likely culprot given that I’ve lowered my dose and the change has happened in the last four or so weeks…

Fingers crossed for both of us!

Fingers crossed it’s just the testosterone 🤞

On the off chance it might be telogen effluvium (a type of stress related hair loss, caused by either physical or psychological factors) (expecto patronum!) (sorry couldn’t resist with the latin) it typically shows itself 3-4 months after the initial trigger. And it might take a similar time to cycle through to when it stops unfortunately. Mine started in May and that was during a stall in weight loss for me, but was also 4 months after my DS had that major surgery so who bloody knows. Mine is starting to calm down a bit now at last.

Good luck xx

Sorry you are having Vinted issues @RayonSunrise and @Goldleafcat. I hope Vinted fall on your side. I feel quite lucky with my Vinted experiences. I met friends today and I was all dressed in Vinted. Only my Grenson boots were bought new. Def the weather for boots today!

I had one this week ‘my parcel has gone missing, it never arrived’ I looked at the photo of the RM delivery, compared it to the street view photo of her house and my message said ‘really? Because this sure looks like your house’ 😂

I’m gonna look at this, because it drives me mad people offering £4.75 for something that is up priced to sell at a £5, and then don’t come back to you when you decline. It’s fecking 25p. 😂

Aww thanks. Hopefully it’s the Testosterone. My trauma years thankfully are behind me 🤞 Hope the little fella is on the mend now.

A stone in week 1 😳 I think that’s definitely placing you in the super responder camp!

Aww, enjoy!

I was head to toe in my fifty shades of burgundy yesterday 😂. Found a fab sleeveless cowl neck top in Tesco for £15 which I wore last night. Even cheap clothes look better on you when you’re thinner I think 🥰

I tried to sell an empty Liberty calendar last week. Other people had them listed. Mine was banned. No idea why. Listed again using the same wording as other people and I was banned again. No idea why.

"Shooketh" 🤣 there's a blast from the past! When I want to horrify/mortify my teens I use the word "yeeted" 😇

@jay55I still get a free jag (asthma) but for the first time they asked me why I was eligible 😃 presumably all the previous years they just assumed....

I'm making my pinky promise to the thread that I really am going to buy new bras 🙈 unfortunately boobs are still gigantic (I think I'm currently a 36 H) so serious structure is required but I'll still try to find non wired

I wonder if the day will eventually come where one of my bra cups does not fit my head?!? 🤣🤣🤣 gotta have a dream!

At yes. Years ago, DH put one of my bras on his head and I’m still traumatised by the memory 😂

I love how so many of us are still H cup after losing 4/5 stones 😂

I tried on a tweed coat in Sainsbury's yesterday. I have no need of yet another 'smart' coat but I was intrigued to see if a size 12 fitted (usually have to size up in coats since I am large of boob and am currently a comfortable size 14 in most clothing). It fit. It did up. I was dumbstruck and then checked the size in case it was on the wrong hanger. It was, but, dear reader, it was a size 10! As the kids said a few years back, I was shooketh. I consider that a vanity size related NSV but it did give me a little frisson.

Sainsbury’s coats sizing is wild. I bought a lovely blue coat last December when I was a good 14, and had to buy a 10. Obviously I wasn’t because I was 55lbs heavier than I am now at an actual size 10. Perhaps they’re designed to wear many layers underneath? They do a lovely range though.

Had to cave and buy a coat, the rain in Manchester is an abomination. The 14 went on and zipped up easily and as I walked down the street I also realised there is room at the hips, ive never bought a coat that wasn’t tight on my hips before.

🙌 Enjoy sashaying along in your new coat 🥰

I get excited now I can get into smaller sizes as well @BlueWalker But as my DD keeps reminding me ‘just because it fits doesn’t mean you have to buy it’ as I did go a bit crazy at sizes 16 and 14 😂😂.

I love this - children telling us to calm down 😂

@BlueWalker I too enjoyed a frisson in M&S yesterday, took a pair of size 12 trousers into the changing room... had to size down to a 10...

Thought, well it's ridiculous, but I'll just try an 8... 😲 Perfect fit - I was indeed shooketh

After all these years (for me certainly), it's rather a pleasant experience, one I need to get my head around as my brain definitely hasn't caught up with my new size as yet

Shooketh 😂

I have a massive hangover this morning. If you are tempted by the new limited edition Terry’s chocolate orange x Bailey’s in Tesco, my advice is, don’t. It is bloody lovely. So lovely in fact that we did the whole bottle last night at my fancy dinner party. A decision I’m sincerely regretting this morning 😂

This thread is turning into THE shopping and fashion thread on Mumsnet! So funny!

I had an accidental shopping trip yesterday. Went into town to pick up a few bits from Boots for the business trip I'm going on this week.

Came home with a new dress (Zara, long denim shirt dress, size M), trainers (Zara), comfy trousers for the flight (Zara, M), long sleeve shirt (White Company, S), barrel leg dark jeans (Hush, 12), cardigan (Albaray, 10). Did not buy the very lovely floaty skirt that I wanted at White Company because it was too big in 12 and they didn't have a 10.
It is exhilarating to fit into these sizes, and comfortably! Honestly, I wish Mounjaro had been available twenty years ago...

Still no winter coat though. But I have a fluffy new fleece that is excellent for trips to the gym and the school run. Passenger Clothing. Very nice.

Off to Singapore this afternoon. I haven't packed yet. Should perhaps get a wriggle on... First stop, ironing. Not looking forward to this trip because humid heat is very much not my kind of weather, and I have a very big work event that I don't feel ready for. And normally Singapore is such a foody destination, but I don't know that spicy food and I get on well enough right now...

Oh, weight: Stable at goal.

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 05/10/2025 10:00

Love Singapore. Enjoy @KentishMama The far east has some of my favourite holiday spots.

Looking at Malaysia Langkawi as holiday destination next year or deffo year after for wedding anniversary celebration as part of our honeymoon was there. Also looking at a Cambodia Vietnam tour.

Ooh that shopping trip sounds heavenly! I love Singapore, we have friends who live there. Have you been to the street food markets? The food is insane. Obviously you need to have a Singapore gin sling at Raffles. don’t forget it’s the Grand Prix there this weekend so the traffic will be a bit crap as they dismantle the circuit.

Have a wonderful time, hope the work thing goes well.

Grin There must have been something in the air last night. I really fancied a Bailey’s but ended up opening a rum cream called Bumbu, which DH bought me last year because the name made him snigger. It was lovely but far too easy to drink!
