Week 29 weigh in.

Another 3lb off this week bringing total loss to 5st 9lb (35.8kg).

This brings my current weight to a lovely round 20st exactly, I was thinking initially that today's loss means I would see the 19's but that'll be next weeks milestone- unless you listen to Shotsy........🤣

44% of my target achieved, just another 11lb before I'll be on the downward slope of having lost more than I have left to lose, I imagine that will be a nice feeling along with getting to under 40bmi which is exactly 40lb away.

Now I've just made myself depressed that at 2lb a week that 40lb will take me til the 20thFeb 😣

Ah I had to look that up ..daily injections..I've not come across that offered much ,how are you finding it

Hi its very popular in ireland as its one of two glps that are offered free under the drugs payment scheme (ozempic is the other one but that is usually offered to those with diabetes) . I am currently on the lowest starting dose and this is my 5th day . Not a fan of having to inject every day but am getting used to it now and its painless . Food noise has dulled massively already but im still feeling hungry at times . Eating three meals a day and rarely snack. Im looking forward to seeing how it goes for me. I know that from online research googling etc people either do very well on saxenda or very badly there seems to be no in-between

Fffreeeeezing · 03/10/2025 11:43

I just did my jab as usual but I have no idea what just happened! I wound it to 1 (after priming), inserted the needle and pushed and it had no resistance at all. Took it out and the plunger hadn't moved to where it should be for the 3rd dose. Double checked against a picture to confirm and then tried injecting again, it resisted this time thank goodness and the plunger has moved to where it should be. Anyone else had this? What did I do wrong?

First time I've jabbed in the back of my arm, just for variety!

GnomeDePlume · 03/10/2025 12:07

@Billybingbong amazing transformation.!

I am deeply envious of you people who are getting a figure. I carry my weight around my middle and have no bust to speak of. My waist and bust measurements are the same. Both numbers are getting smaller but at the same rate. There is a slight improvement in that my waist measurement is no longer bigger than my bust.

@Fffreeeeezing probably just something in the mechanism didn't quite catch. Glad it did on the second time of asking.

ConfusedMiddleAger83 · 03/10/2025 12:37

@Billybingbong you look amazing!

@mamabeeboo i also love the ‘just’ approach. I am having real problems getting started doing anything, having some investigations for fatigue and HRT efficacy and I think this could really help me on days I feel stuck to the sofa.

One thing I aM finding is the negative thoughts / self sabotage is so strong, does anyone else feel like this? It’s like my brains is convinced this isn’t working because every other thing I have tried over the decades hasn’t worked. It clearly is working, I have lost 3st 4.5lb since the start of May. I sit and stare at my graphs and charts but still feel down about it all not working.

I think it’s partly as I still can’t fit in smaller clothes or trousers, I bought some size 20’s and they all had to go back. I am wearing 24’s and thought surely I’d be nearly there but some wouldn’t even go up my legs. Also still struggling to see any visible difference in photos, my clothes are baggier and that’s about it.

I really need to learn to look on the bright side!

Personally
I got sucked in to the medias message of ,fat jabs ,making the fat melt away ,easy way out ,no effort required ect ect
So my expectations of WLI were much to high ..
I have done very well on them ,but I do tend to go through periods of frustration and expectations that are still to high .
I do need to remind myself frequently that WLI are a tool ,to help me ,not actually do the job for me .
And it's less calories in that makes me loose weight ,not the actual jabs .
It is hard ,even with the jabs ..but that's why we are all on this thread , supporting each other , because we know it's hard and a very long road

Lds1 · 03/10/2025 12:48

I'm wearing smaller trousers but mainly wide leg as my legs aren't as small. I'm planning on a trip to a shop with changing rooms to see if any straight leg trousers fit my legs and waist yet. I've always had the problem of having to buy bigger trousers for my legs but then the waist has been too big.

mamabeeboo · 03/10/2025 12:50

@ConfusedMiddleAger83 I must say it's very hard at our weights, because on the other boards, after 3 stone, everyone calls it a day and they are all size 8s. It's not the same for us. You're like me, that you need to see the progress and the scales dropping, clothes fitting etc to continue to feel like it's working. And sometimes even then it's a struggle. This is a mental battle as much (if not more so) than a physical battle.

One thing that helped me is absolutely immersing myself in positive affirmations/ podcasts/youtube videos/books. Like every day, twice a day, 3 times a day, I'd listen to a podcast (or the same one) that basically says that you're worth it and you can do it. And practical ways to let go of the negative thought. It's very important, because honestly, the negative thoughts will ruin any experience. I'd recommend Mel Robbins Podcast, she does quite a few of these and I'm sure you will find one that speaks to you.

Are you a happy person in general? Do you watch light-hearted things on TV, comedies or call friends? Sometimes it's just about surrounding yourself with positivity.

I also don't look at how much weight I have to lose, because I find it overwhelming. I look at how far I have come and I focus one day at a time, one pound at a time. All I have to do is make healthy choices today/next meal. All I have to do is lose one pound. That's it.

Billybingbong · 03/10/2025 13:17

Thank you ladies, I wasn't sure whether to post any pictures, but I'm so glad I did now, your comments are all so lovely.

Well done everyone on your fab losses this week, some great results.

@ConfusedMiddleAger83 I get you with the negative thoughts. It's so hard to stay positive when you can't see the results, even though the scales are telling you otherwise. But at over 3st loss, you are on the very cusp, and another few lbs will really start to show (it's the kitchen roll analogy). For me, once I started to visibly see a difference, and other people started commenting, I noticed a real shift in my mindset, and all (most) of those negative doubts disappeared. Now, I have many more positive days, and can bat the bad thoughts away much easier.

Also, I take measurements and pictures at the start of every month. You can bet you're losing inches without even noticing by just looking in the mirror.

You are doing amazing 🥰

Week 26, and 1lb off, total 4st 7lb.

SW 22st 8lb
CW 18st 1lb
GW 11st 4lb

Today is my six month monjiversary. I can't believe how quick it has gone, and how different I am now in such a short time, both mentally and physically. I'm 4 1/2st down, lost 20% of my body weight, 11" off my waist, 10" off my hips, down 12 bmi points, etc etc. My physical and mental health has massively improved, literally the list is endless. And while I'm feeling brave, here's a couple of pictures. The before picture is the one I used to order my first pen, the second one taken just now. I've still got a long way to go, but its all heading in the right direction

Look at those curves, well done

You look amazing!

I always watch out for your posts as you started just before me and this has really inspired me to take another photo to compare how far I’ve come when I hit 26 weeks! My weight loss is only a few pounds behind yours and I really hope I look as good as you! I started a little heavier but this is a real boost to see what can be achieved when it feels like things are never ending and it is such a long journey ahead.

Congratulations!

Billybingbong · 03/10/2025 14:02

@TheZingyFish thank you, you are so kind. Yes, definitely take those photos, they have been a real lifeline for me. Only when I compare photos can I really notice a difference. When I look in the mirror, I just don't see it, its weird.

I look forward to seeing your 26 week pic 🥰

Wibbs · 03/10/2025 17:46

I was on the Patient Access NHS app checking on my blood test results, when I decided to play around with the private services they offer. For weight loss Letterbox Pharmacy which has a physical branch not far from me was cheaper than the rest. Visited their website (letterbox.pharmacy.co.uk) and it looks like they have old RRP Mounjaro prices although there is a note saying prices will rise on the 1st September.

I’d investigate further, but I have an unopened 5mg, 2 x 7.5mg and a 10mg in the fridge and 11 weeks in am still on my first 5mg pen as I am still responding well at 2.5mg.

I thought I would pass the details on the chance it could benefit another long-termer. I am not affiliated with this company and apologise in advance if it ends up just showing incorrect prices. If I was in the market for a new pen I would give it a go though.

MummyInTheNecropolis · 03/10/2025 18:21

Well done on all the losses and NSVs. I have a few of my own to add, another 2lb loss this week puts my BMI at 30.1 - so close to being overweight rather than obsese!

But more importantly (to me, anyway)! I am wearing size 14 jeans! I have been wearing size 14 tops and dresses for a while now but always been bottom heavy due to big hips and bum. I have never in my life worn size 14 jeans. I was already a size 18 by the time I started secondary school so this is huge for me!

Iwouldratherbesinging · 03/10/2025 18:50

@Billybingbong look at your waist! Looking gorgeous ☺️

Ladybird69 · 03/10/2025 19:25

Hi @Fffreeeeezing good call. I’ve seen my Gp who said that as I’ve had Vertigo in the past, it could very well be that rather than the MJ. He’s given me some Prochlorperazine tablets. He asked for urine and stool samples just in case it’s a stomach bug but my body is totally empty 🥴 so that was a no go! Taken a couple of doses so hopefully I’ll be feeling human again soon 🤞 thanks for your message.

mamabeeboo · 03/10/2025 20:07

@PearlsPearl how did the gym go??

Bibulous · 03/10/2025 20:50

Checking in! I'm really close to hitting the 10st lost mark which will put me at a BMI of 35! It's been a long time since I've been this weight and I can definitely feel the difference. But I've hit a real plateau recently and have lost and gained the same couple of pounds for weeks now Sad I was diagnosed with an overactive thyroid six months ago which really accelerated my weight loss but I think the medication I'm on to treat that is finally having an effect so everything is slowing down. I've just had another blood test so once I get the results back from that we'll see where that leaves me.

I've just got a new 10mg pen from Medicine Marketplace for £239 which is affordable for now but I don't think I can do it for too much longer. Once we're past Christmas I'll need to have a serious think about where I go from there.

PearlsPearl · 03/10/2025 21:04

@mamabeeboo well I ‘just’ got into my gym gear… and that’s it I’m afraid. BUT that’s a big win for me because my mental health isn’t great at the moment so getting up and dressed made me feel better anyway. And I genuinely did consider going but I’m in Scotland and storm Amy is blowing like mad! But thanks. I’ll use it often I think!

mamabeeboo · 03/10/2025 21:42

@PearlsPearl and that is OK!!! Good for you for "just" getting into your gym clothes! That was at least more than nothing 😉

Rainbowcat77 · 03/10/2025 22:01

Oh wow @Billybingbongyou’re looking fab, well done!

Mum2Fergus · 04/10/2025 09:36

Wk32 weigh in this morning (wk20 on 5mgs) … another lb down so can tick off 4.5st loss in total. First jab of 7.5mg yesterday (a day earlier than usual)…no side effects which is great, so just hope the move up boosts my losses again as been on a real slow down. It’s my birthday tomorrow which would normally be a big meal out…this year DS is going to do us a steak dinner!

I’ve lost 23% of my starting weight and averaging 2lbs loss per week over the 32 weeks.

SW (15 Feb 25): 19st 9lbs / BMI 44.4 (obese class 3)
CW: 15st 2lbs / BMI 34.2 (obese class 1)
GW: healthy BMI (between 18.5 and 24.9 (8.3st-11st) for my height) - 4st 2lbs to go to get to top of healthy range.

Wks 1-4 (2.5mg): -17lbs
Wks 5-8 (2.5mg): -6lbs
Wks 9-12 (2.5mg): -11lbs
Wks 13-16 (5mg): -7lbs
Wks 17-20 (5mg): -4lbs
Wks 21-24 (5mg): -7lbs
Wks 25-28 (5mg): -7lbs
Wks 29-32 (5mg): -4lbs

Total loss: 63lbs

Motnight · 04/10/2025 09:37

@Billybingbong as others have said you look amazing 🤩! What a difference. I hardly have any photos of me at my biggest (deliberately so). Will try and find some and post next week. It's odd because I have lost 7 stone more or less but sometimes I do wonder if there's a visible difference!

Wow @Bibulous 10 stone!! I think lots of us have had weight plateaus - I would say just keep on keeping on but it is really frustrating.
