Weigh in and jab day.

SW 137kg BMI 53.5
CW 101.9kg BMI 39.8
GW 63kg BMI 24.6

16 stone 1lb in old money, 5 stone 7lbs down. I am now on the chart on the NHS BMI calculator.

Around Christmas it does really help that I know I have to keep clear of the sweets, not because of weightloss but because I am diabetic. Finally I have control of my diabetes. I dont want to lose that control because I do feel so much better. Skin infections, UTIs, skin tags are all significantly reduced and I dont want to lose this.

It also helps that I am not a big chocolate eater and I dont like Ferrero Rocher (chocolate and nuts - why?).

Well done for the losses this week! @GnomeDePlume welcome to BMI chart's actually showing us!

BMI: 50.8 now 28.1
To get to healthy: 9kg / 1 stone, 5 lb and 13.5 oz

Hi all - been away for a bit and mad busy with work deadlines, just catching up with all your posts! Weigh in day, and finally showing a loss. I've basically been stalled since the end of July, losing and gaining the same pound. Partly holiday related, but I was getting worried - you expect plateaus but a bit depressing when you still have 7 stone left to lose, and it feels like you're paying over £200 a month to not lose weight! Today I am the same weight I was the last time I managed to lose a significant amount, in 2020. Then I piled it all back on with interest, which I'm sure you'll all recognise as a pattern. This time I'm hopeful that won't happen, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit nervous. I've lost track of what jab week I'm in, I started end of March but I've shifted my days around in between then and now. Anyway, hope you are all well, and I'll go off and finish reading what I've missed!

SW: 307lbs
CW: 248lbs

Weigh in number 51
SW 21st 9lb (BMI 44.7)
CW 15st 0lb (BMI 30.8)
GW 12st 9lb (BMI 25.9)

1lb down this week
Losses so far; 4, 1, 5, 1, 3, 4, 2, 2, 2, 4, 1, +3, 5, 1, 3, 2, 4, 3, 1, 1, 3, 1, 1, 3, 3, 1, 1, 0, 2, 3, 1, 2, 2, 0, 1, 3, 1, 1, 2, 3, 1, 3, 1, 0, 1, 1, 2, 2, 0, 1, 1
Total loss 93lbs / 6st 9lb

Just managing 1lb a week loss now, I probably need to have a good look at what I'm eating and drop my calories a bit more as I still want to lose around 3st which will take just under another year if I keep going this slow!!

You're doing so well!

But please don't expect to lose more than 1lb a week now.

I lost 6st in my first year (from 20st down to 14st)

It's been 9 months now, in my second year, and I've lost another 2st 4lb in that 9 months. That's normal.

By the time I get to the end of my second full year, I'll have lost that second 3st. That's to be expected and it's the right rate of loss.

I truly wouldn't try to eat less, to attempt to lose more than 1lb a week.
You'll have a hell of a job, adjusting back to normal eating afterwards.

3st in a year is fine.

I love how so many of us weigh and jab on a Thursday - I chose this day so if I had side effects they would kick in over the weekend rather than mid-work week!

Week 13 weigh-in and I've just hit 3 stone loss - wasn't expecting it this week as my menstrual cycle usually means I have a no-loss week each month. I started 1st week of July with a goal of losing 3 stone by Christmas so whilst it's a scale victory it's also a timeframe victory :)

@eibbed999 I'm logging in to say I am feeling similarly. My weight has been fluctuating at 110kg for the last 6 weeks or so, funnily enough ever since I started C25K. It's actually putting me off running. I know that my body is gaining muscle, but it's the scale drop that keeps my motivation. And I choose motivation over muscle, otherwise I know deep down I'll just give up entirely.

Trying to give my head a wobble and realise that this is all part of a journey, it's not an overnight thing and it's not a linear drop. But woken up today struggling. I'm also looking forward to the second half of this journey because now every stone will really show, ie the toilet roll analogy.

The pictures and NSV are really seeing me through so please everyone continue celebrating! I hope to be in your shoes one day soon.

On another note, re jabbing.

I jabbed on Sunday night and I've been on 10mg since May and now I'm trying to slowly climb the doses by 0.5mg so I'm now on 11.5mg. I'm getting nervous that I won't have anywhere to go but still have a load of weight to lose. But maybe I should bite the bullet and do 12.5mg? Has anyone else felt like this? Is this an actual problem or is this all in my head??

I have a lot on my mind right now. I've never had the high 'I cant eat' suppression. The jabs have just made my appetite manageable, no side effects, so maybe I naturally have a lower GLP1 than everyone else?

PearlsPearl · 02/10/2025 09:52

@Lds1 wooooohooooooo you've done it! You're in the thread hall of fame!

SO happy for you xxx

PearlsPearl · 02/10/2025 09:55

@mamabeeboo I've read on here lots of people worrying about nowhere to go once they go up. And seen people on 15 jab every 6 or 5 days even. But that's a problem for future you, just do what you need to do for right now- go to the 12.5 and it could last absolutely ages for you effectively.

@Ketra well done, amazing success!

@GnomeDePlume we have now lost the same weight! Or will have when I shift the 2lb I put back on over my month off mj.

ME:

Jabbed the 1.25 Sunday. As expected don't feel a thing, eating (overeating) as I have been normally for the last month. It's weird because in May when I started on 1.25 I did have such strong suppression but it's fine, I expected it this time. Will do 1.75 next Sunday and just keep building it up.

The last 2 days I've done that terrible thing, that OLD ME used to do when I started a diet, of sabotaging myself immediately on day 1. Anyone else relate?! It's like I've got a mental block and my brain goes 'right we're being good from today' and then the brat inside of me goes 'stuff that, lets binge'. I didn't binge but I have eaten more than I should have, including half a big bag of chocolate yesterday. But mentally I feel ok and 'back on it' today. Had a strong word with myself!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 02/10/2025 09:56

@mamabeeboo I went up to 15mg fairly quickly and it works very well.

I changed to Wegovy 2.4mg about ten days ago, simply because of the cost. That's the highest dose of Wegovy. It's also working very well.

So I wouldn't be worried about climbing up to 12.5mg of MJ if I were you.

@PearlsPearl @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne
That was such a fast response. And both great points, thank you so much. I trust this group who are also in the same position of having a lot to lose. I guess I don't know what I don't know. Perhaps I should give it a go.

eibbed999 · 02/10/2025 10:18

It is quite the head fuck isn't it @mamabeeboo? So many stages, thoughts, trying to figure it all out. I look forward to the day when I'm not obsessed with my weight...but it's been the dominant factor in my life for so long I can't even imagine it!

Iwouldratherbesinging · 02/10/2025 10:22

@mamabeeboo if it’s any help, I took my first 15mg on the 28th April and according to the shotsy app I was 14st 12, I weighed this morning and saw 11st 13lbs on the scale (it’s not my official weight day today so it doesn’t count), I am still feeling the same today as I did on that 1st 15mg dose, I’m still losing albeit slightly slower, but there is less of me now!

eibbed999 · 02/10/2025 10:22

I feel your pain @PearlsPearl, it's always frightening when you realise the 'old you' is still lurking beneath the surface, ready to scoff a multi pack of Wagon Wheels! But at least you ate less, so that's a win. I'm currently motivated by not wanting to let my family down. I don't want them to have that cynical 'been here before' feeling.

Autumnflowers2 · 02/10/2025 11:33

Ladybird69 · 01/10/2025 20:37

Hi @SilenceInside thank you for your reply. Yes I have some soluble electrolytes tablets so I will take one and try and keep it down. It’s the dizziness that I’m really struggling to cope with. I’ll postpone the next jab, I’ve been on the 5mg for 6 weeks so I’m surprised that I’m suddenly having trouble with it. I had trouble with semiglutide tablets and I thought switching would be better. Thanks again

Had you eaten anything different,or fatty ,or something disagreed with you .
I did have one episode of hours on and off the loo ,I'd obviously eaten something that had upset my stomach, but I never found out what it was ..hope you start to feel better soon @Ladybird69

IWishIWasABaller · 01/10/2025 23:20

Hi everyone I wonder could I join in here even though ive started saxenda and not monjaro. Im on day 3 so far feeling a slight reduction on food noise and cravings. Current weight 149.9 kg and will weigh myself once a week. Very nervous but feeling hopeful this will be the weight loss tool that will work for me at last

Ah I had to look that up ..daily injections..I've not come across that offered much ,how are you finding it

Autumnflowers2 · 02/10/2025 11:46

Last year was my first Christmas on WLI
I was worried..but I was fine ..
It helps we are a family of vegans ,so most of the naughty stuff we can't eat anyway ..and none of us likes Christmas cake or Christmas pudding or mince pies .
So we limit Christmas food to 3 days and have vegan cheese and biscuits and vegan chocolate mints with coffee after each meal on those 3 days ,and a vegan Ben and Jerry's ice-cream as well.
Other than that it's just food as normal.
I used to go mad getting everything in I could find that was vegan for Christmas..but we were just wasting food ,as we are all quite fussy food wise ,so now it's just the extra bits I mentioned

GnomeDePlume · 02/10/2025 12:10

@mamabeeboo I'm on 12.5mg and have been for a few months now. I have never had 'I can't eat' suppression. What I have is just food not being a priority. I can quite happily skip a meal if it isnt convenient without feeling hard done by.

I will qualify this by saying I am diabetic so I don't know if I am getting different effects from non-diabetics.

FourSeasonsTotalLandscaping · 02/10/2025 13:00

@GnomeDePlume hurrah for being on the chart!!
@Lds1 and hurrah for reaching the 10 stone off mark - what an achievement!

Thanks all for your thoughts on Christmas - I'm sure in reality it will be fine.

It will be jab 20 for me this evening. Weighed in this morning at 112.3kg - my BMI is now exactly 40 so the NHS won't yet quite allow me on to the chart but I'm really really nearly there. That's a total loss of 22.5kg since May (about 3.5 stone). Was looking at some old photos from last year earlier and I do think I can see a difference in my face - not so many chins!

I'm not diabetic and I'm exactly the same most of the time, never really had can't eat suppression, I've had lots of times where I'm really not bothered/indifferent to eating or I really just don't fancy anything but I always eat my whole calorie allowance and could definitely still chomp my way through a family sized bar of dairy milk (I've done a pretty good job of resisting it though!)

I think I'd rather be like this than struggling to eat anything, the only thing I struggle with is the motivation to get off my arse and go and cook dinner, if you're not starving it's really difficult to summon up the enthusiasm.

GlowGetter · 02/10/2025 13:45

@GnomeDePlume Interesting that you mention UTIs. I did wonder if my weight was contributing to the frequency of UTIs, although I am also taking other measures at the moment to reduce them as well as losing weight.

Billybingbong · 02/10/2025 14:27

Has anyone else noticed a change in the Shotsy app? On the results tab, it used to show % to goal progress, but that has now changed to show your current weight. I'm unsure if it's something I've done, or the app has changed. I'm a bit peeved, I was enjoying watching the % increase every week
