@Autumnflowers2 speaking for myself, I don't want anyone to feel like they can't continue to post here if their circumstances change. It's all part of the journey.

What dose of Wegovy have you ordered?

Not putting two and two together properly at moment..
Still not sleeping at night .
Yet have no problem falling asleep at 5 am when i have to be to be up in an hour or so

Autumnflowers2 · 01/10/2025 13:53

I was thinking of positives to cheer myself up ,and one huge NSV
Was this was the first summer in about ,15 years ,that my ankles did not swell up during the summer ..and another NSV is how much easier I'm finding cleaning the house ,I have one of those daft houses with about 1000 stairs ( town house )
And I can get up and down no bother now ..not that there was bother ,but I definitely tried to avoid going up and down if I could

Autumnflowers2 · 01/10/2025 13:55

And at the swimming pool ,I'm like a mountain goat , nipping in and out of the jacuzzi..😍😍😍....and that is why I'm down ...I didn't swim today 😔..silly me ,that's why I'm out of sorts and feeling odd

Iwouldratherbesinging · 01/10/2025 15:49

Good luck @Autumnflowers2, you’ve made me realise that this has been the first summer in I don’t know how long that my ankles havent swollen! Keep us all updated 😊

Anyone feeling a bit nervous about their first WLI Christmas? I ordered a lovely posh Belgian chocolate advent calendar the other day and it’s just arrived. And now I’m thinking how weird it will be to eat chocolate EVERY DAY and what if it derails me?

Food has (of course) always been a massive part of Christmas and I don’t want to spend the festive period nibbling on a lettuce leaf and feeling like I can’t enjoy any lovely stuff, but I’m also terrified of just finding I lose control all together.

Anyone else feel the same? I think some of you were on WLI already last Christmas - any tips?

AlicesMum2025 · 01/10/2025 19:22

Just quickly checking in after being off MN for a while. I'm 21 weeks in and have lost 26.7kg / 4st 3lb / 59 lbs. I'm on 3.75mg but considering reducing my dose a bit as I'm struggling to get calories in.

It's so inspiring seeing everyone's progress and I relate to you all more than on my monthly thread because of just how much weight I have to lose.

I've had some nice NSVs recently, my most recent one being successfully lifting 65kg at the gym this morning. It's been so empowering going to the gym and I'm surprised how much confidence it's giving me.

I've also now dropped a couple of clothes sizes which means I'm essentially looking at an empty wardrobe every morning. I didn't keep any clothes from my slimmer days so now I need to buy a few basics to get me through the winter. I bought a lovely Seasalt coat on Vinted for an absolute bargain last week, but I don't really know what clothes I like. I'm not used to having a choice. Normally I would just have to make do with whatever fits.

Ladybird69 · 01/10/2025 19:23

Hi can I please join this thread. I’ve got 10+ stone to lose and been on Mounjaro for 10 weeks now, starting with 2.5 then up to 5mg. Everything has been ok, though losing only 1lb per week. However since Sunday night I’ve been feeling absolutely awful. Extreme dizziness sickness hot and cold and upset stomach. Struggling to keep even sips of water down. Has anyone else had this happen with them? And has anyone got any ideas how I can ease these symptoms? Really grateful for any advice Tia

GnomeDePlume · 01/10/2025 19:27

@FourSeasonsTotalLandscaping the thing which has worked for me not face-planting into the Quality Streets tin is not having the first one. I know it is obvious in a way but not having the first one is key for me. The same works for mince pies!

So far as the Christmas meal is concerned, it really helps that I love my vegetables so I eat in the same way as I normally do: vegetables then meat then potatoes.

Lds1 · 01/10/2025 20:00

I've got a non food advent calendar this year, might still buy one though, had one last year and it was fine!

I still bought some nice Christmas food last year just not as much of it, I kept it for the Christmas week rather than the whole of December.

SilenceInside · 01/10/2025 20:25

@FourSeasonsTotalLandscaping I was almost 6 months on Mounjaro last Christmas. I thought it might be tricky, but I just didn't want to graze constantly, and no one really noticed. For Christmas dinner, I had a bit of everything and ate what I wanted, as @GnomeDePlume says I started with the veg, then the protein and then the carbs. I had a bit of Christmas pudding too. I actually enjoyed it much more than previous Christmas dinners, as I wasn't stressed out about overeating and my weight.

Now, I am very well practiced at saying no thank you when offered nibbles. I might try a chocolate if it was a very nice one but I know I can just have one. Also, I know that if I do overdo it, that it isn't the end of a diet, it is just one rough patch and I can move past it and continue on.

@AlicesMum2025 amazing weight loss, and amazing lifting! 65kg is a lot. Being able to choose more clothes is a fascinating thing. It has slowly dawned on me that I can wear whatever I want to, but as you say, the trick is to know what that is! I tend to use the Favourites section of Vinted almost like a look book/mood board type thing if that makes sense.

@Ladybird69 hello and welcome to the thread. Sorry you are feeling so rough. Do you have any electrolytes like Dioralyte if you are struggling to eat and keep water down? You can also delay your next dose until you are feeling better, and also consider reducing the amount you inject.

Ladybird69 · 01/10/2025 20:37

Hi @SilenceInside thank you for your reply. Yes I have some soluble electrolytes tablets so I will take one and try and keep it down. It’s the dizziness that I’m really struggling to cope with. I’ll postpone the next jab, I’ve been on the 5mg for 6 weeks so I’m surprised that I’m suddenly having trouble with it. I had trouble with semiglutide tablets and I thought switching would be better. Thanks again

I'd try an antihistamine anti-nausea medication such as cyclizine.

It would help with the dizziness and with the upset stomach. You can take it three times a day.

End of Week One on Wegovy

I've lost 1lb. That's perfect. I have been losing 2/3lb a month on MJ.

I'm now 11st 12lb.

My total loss since January 2024 is 8st 4lb.

I can't find any negatives about Wegovy. I haven't had any side-effects and my appetite is suppressed.

I'm going to carry on.

That’s good to know

long may it last

This will be my third one. I still have all the booze from that first one. So my top tip would be, remember I can't drink!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 01/10/2025 22:19

This will be my second Christmas on MJ/and now Wegovy.

I ate everything last Christmas Day, just much less of it than usual. I had some chocolates. No alcohol, because I didn't fancy it.

I've just consulted my diary, and I was 14st then. I thought I was so thin!

I'm 11st 12lb now. I'm hoping to be about 11st 2lb by this Christmas. I'll just about be at my goal.

@FourSeasonsTotalLandscaping I was so nervous about Christmas last year, but it was fine in the end, it’s the first time I’ve ever actually lost weight over the Christmas period! We didn’t buy half as much food, cut down on the chocolate and desserts. I ate what I wanted and didn’t feel that I missed out at all, the worst thing for me is the change of routine, it did take me a while to get back into the swing of things and I actually looked forward to getting back to work and a familiar routine. I did change my jab day though, I think I was due to jab the day before Christmas Eve, I knew I would have full on suppression on Christmas Day and didn’t want that so jabbed a day early, that way I knew I would be able to eat my dinner but not overeat.

@AlicesMum2025 thats an amazing loss, you’re doing brilliantly! I totally get the clothes issue, I don’t know me at the size I’m at now, I think I’m gradually discovering what suits me but I still feel like I’m seeing a different person in the mirror, the amount of choice is overwhelming sometimes, I think it’s going to take a while to figure out. I do like going into shops and trying things on just for the sake of it at the moment!

@Ladybird69 welcome 😊, sorry you’re feeling so rough, I hope it passes soon for you.

Hi everyone I wonder could I join in here even though ive started saxenda and not monjaro. Im on day 3 so far feeling a slight reduction on food noise and cravings. Current weight 149.9 kg and will weigh myself once a week. Very nervous but feeling hopeful this will be the weight loss tool that will work for me at last

Ladybird69 · 01/10/2025 23:30

Thank you @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne thats really helpful. I’m desperate for some relief.
and thank you for your good wishes @Iwouldratherbesinging

Hello! Let us know how you get on with Saxenda…I hope it works well for you.
I’m fairly new too and started at a similar weight to you.
we’ve got a journey ahead of us, good luck!

Just managing 1lb a week loss now, I probably need to have a good look at what I'm eating and drop my calories a bit more as I still want to lose around 3st which will take just under another year if I keep going this slow!!
