Oh I have an NSV from the weekend.

I went to the pub and sat in one of those wooden chairs with arms without even thinking about it and I fitted in, it didn't hurt me and it didn't dig me! It's the first time I've tried one of those chairs in a long time. Next time I'm in a coffee shop/cafe I need to try the bucket chairs.

TragicMuse · 28/09/2025 15:40

Love your wedding ring NSV @afaloren ❤️

TragicMuse · 28/09/2025 15:42

Def try the bucket chairs @Lds1 I was at the theatre yesterday and the seats were fine, roomy, even! I could cross my legs too!

It’s brilliant!

That sounds a good experience. And where as they were expensive they now seem quite reasonable! Did you just order every 5 weeks ish or do you order 4 weeks and save the pens for a later date?

@Iwouldratherbesinging Wow that is an incredible number of steps!! I am in awe!! I can see under my chin is looking crinkly but it isn't swinging like my arms can - I'm glad yours sorted itself out. Its good to know that even if it doesn't go away in 18months its likely to improve.

Wow @Lds1 Yay for a good post-holiday weigh in. But also you are a hairs breadth away from a 10 stone loss there aren't you! I have a similar starting number to you and goal amount (but I'm at 15 st 8!) and its so nice to see those of you already in "overweight" territory.

I took 8.3 on Friday and thought it would solve all my problems but have still been plagued by sulphur burps, gurgly stomach, and cramping. I even googled gastritis as its been getting to me (it isn't). I've been on windeze, gaviscon and resorted to pepto last night when my daughter wouldn't sit near me... I try to save pepto for student facing days.

I found Mounjarohub does a free "concentration in your blood" calculator and it looks like it might take another week to reduce a bit. But I'm wondering now if that will be enough. Or it could just be that my stomach has been so all over the place the last 6 weeks it takes a while to settle. I'm still waking up at night.

On the plus side. I weighed this morning at 98.8 (My graph has been all over the place the last couple of weeks - I imagine linked with the gi fun). I've been playing with the NHS calculator and at 98.2 it drops below bmi 35 (and into Obesity 1 although it doesn't say that bit).

So another goal is in sight :) I just need to sleep. Get on top of work... and start eating more... and for my stomach to stop messing around!

Been just ordering every 4 weeks and stockpiling for if/when prices rise or finances dip ...

I wondered if anyone could give me a bit of advice, which is really for my mum. I’m taking Mounjaro and she would love to, but is 75. The online pharmacies seem to have an age limit of 74 and so she can’t get past that, but when I have researched it there doesn’t seem to be an upper age limit in reality. Has anyone experienced this? Should she try a local pharmacy maybe? Thanks in advance as any help would be gratefully received

You're right, but she may have trouble persuading a doctor or pharmacist to prescribe it.

It looks like they can prescribe Wegovy up to age 75 though.

It doesn't make much sense..... but those seem to be the prescribing guidelines.

Has your mum tried to get Wegovy?
I changed to it last week and it seems to have exactly the same effect on me that MJ had.

My mum is 79, and gets hers from Juniper, so it might be worth giving them a try

Thank you. She’s never tried to get anything before, I’m a fairly new starter so we are just finding our way through everything. Thanks for the tip about Wegovy, though, and I’m so glad your move across to it is going well so far! Really great to hear. I’ll see if we can try Wegovy for her somewhere

If you'd like a discount code for £50 off a pen at CheqUp send me a PM.

The lowest Wegovy dose on there costs £85 so it would only be £35 with the discount.

Having only looked at Bupa yesterday, I saw that they have a limit of 85, and they are really competitively priced @newtothegreen

PearlsPearl · 28/09/2025 21:52

Right I did it! 1.25 jabbed.

So, everything in me is crossed hopefully that it’s just a reset and I’ll have a good run of it again.

PearlsPearl · 28/09/2025 21:53

Oh and @afaloren congtats on the ring. That was my first goal too and I’ve been so happy for months since I got mine back on. Enjoy your lovely hand!

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 28/09/2025 22:46

I was out with a group I don't see often tonight and just seem a group photo... I don't instantly hate it! I'm not delusional that I'm slim at 15st8... But I don't look as abnormally standing out as I did when much larger!!

AND I didn't sit in the corner and just expect my husband to bring me drinks/etc. I could do walking about!

I ate more than I've been managing recently while out and I think I feel better for it. I'm hoping the lower dose will eventually mean I can eat better nutrition!

Jif she has a zoom appointment with Oushk rather than just filling in the form a d there aren't any other factors tom prevent prescribing then they will. There are lots of older ladies in their support group.

I'm really rooting for you. My friends husband was doing really well, and then he got the sulphur burps. She said to him to stick with it, and he's been three months but it's not getting better. She's a nurse so they've tried a lot of mitigation and he just can't do it any more. He's lost 4 stone tho. So it's a good start but he can't go on.

TragicMuse · 29/09/2025 09:09

Best of luck @PearlsPearl

End of Week One on Wegovy

I've lost 1lb. That's perfect. I have been losing 2/3lb a month on MJ.

I'm now 11st 12lb.

My total loss since January 2024 is 8st 4lb.

I can't find any negatives about Wegovy. I haven't had any side-effects and my appetite is suppressed.

I'm going to carry on.

@Autumnflowers2

Wegovy prices on CheqUp are still very good.

You're on 15mg MJ aren't you?
CheqUp will let you order the highest Wegovy dose pen (2.4mg) and it's currently £160. If you use my £50 discount, the pen will cost you £110.

Sorry ..again.so is this £160 a permanent price per month ?
Or is the £160 for less than a month's pen
How are you finding wegovy ..is it quite similar side effects wise .
That's a big price difference,if it is essentially doing the same thing

I read it offers heart protection against heart attack.
I follow a lady on social media who lost all her weight on ozempic ( is the same as wegovy???)..she looks completely different

It's £160, then you get discount codes.
If you have one code, your pen costs £110.

The pen lasts four weeks. There is no bonus dose.

Yes, Ozempic is the same.
They're both semaglutide.

I have decided to start weaning myself off, whilst still losing weight with a view to switching to Wegovy or whatever might be around in about 9 months time when I finish the pens I have. Chat Gpt ( I know ) suggested 4 weeks on each dose so I will be using the pens in an unregulated way and the bonus dose whilst I can. I have done 50 clicks today of my 15mg pen which should be 12.5mg by my reckoning.

Southwest12 · 29/09/2025 18:21

I'm on a plane for the first time since I've been "skinnier" and there's loads of spare seat belt and seat! I think I can safely get rid of the secret seatbelt extender I used to carry with me.
