Mum2Fergus
Your progression and weight losses are fantastic. Congratulations for all the hard work you've done. I was wondering whether your Mounjaro supplier was happy to keep prescribing 2.5mg for 3 pens? I am thinking about keeping to 2.5mg for a third pen but my chemist was very unhappy with me having a 2.5mg second pen and wanted me to move up to 5mg. I don't know if I want another argument. Did you find the third pen 2.5mg pen was just as good or do you wish you'd moved up to the 5mg earlier?

Thank you!

No issues with staying on same dosage (I did starter dose for 3 pens then 5mg for 5 pens and just today I’ve gone up to 7.5). I’m with Boots and they encourage you not to move up/move up quickly unless you are experiencing zero losses, food noises, etc. They are a bit more expensive but the support and coaching is great so I don’t mind the additional cost.

Just found a "better" picture of the arm droop. It's like more than my arm width. But I guess it's better than it being full of fat. It must have been so much wider. And I'm getting to do the exercises. And I won't usually be stood like this!

Your 'bad' arms look very much like my 'bad' arms! I think with exercise and time things should firm up a bit though. We might never have Lara Croft arms but I can live with that.

About eight months ago, my arms looked like yours do in the picture you've posted.

My arms are almost "normal" now.

I can feel my clavicles and scapulae.
I was amazed to feel my rib cage too, recently. It was a revelation, not having wodges of fat covering my skeleton.

Wow really??? That's amazing. I've been on a google/chatgpt dive (avoiding work and life probably) and it seems people say the skin is a lost cause if older or if's been there a long time and the only route is surgery ( I have no money anyway!)

I am doing weights but I'm not expecting to double my arms. I did assume I'd have dangly flappy skin forever. I even started looking at tiktoks and before:after surgery where people get it removed. None of this is particulalry useful or healthy for me right now really I think it's just my mind obeseessing instead of doing things. Although sometimes once my brain gets to the end of an obsession it helps if it's reached a conclusion!

I'm so pleased the loose skin did tighten up for you. I will keep my fingers crossed that there is hope then ❤️. It's such a weird feeling having bits hanging that don't feel part of me.

I'm excited about the ribs etc too. I remember that so well (wasn't really obese + till after kids) and already when I feel parts of me (currently when I move the stomach over) I get excited! My stomach is very very round still. I think most of my flab is there . I think I'm currently more at peace about ended up with loose skin there as I am so conscious of the round and alsoI can tuck it in! I hope it doesn't look like a roll though like when schoolkids roll their skirts. Ho hum. No point worrying about that now!

Sorry to be a pain ..I know I've asked this before
Any recommendations for a new company to buy from.
Keep putting it of ..but I think I will feel happier when I'm settled with a new company.
Looked at voy and that was very expensive, and juniper was over£300 as well for 15 mg .

Autumnflowers2 · 27/09/2025 14:37

My next one will be pharmulous. £239 for 10mg and let you order 6 weekly. Seem to get good reviews. I've not done it yet though!

Edited

Cheers will have a look
I'm not wanting to pay more than £300 if that's possible

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 27/09/2025 14:42

They're £274 for 15 and next day etc but I do think quite a few will do a good first order if you get a code.

Is that the regular price..with no code
That seems very cheap compared to what I've been looking at today .
So how do I get a code for it

Billybingbong · 27/09/2025 14:44

I too am developing flabby arms, and my belly is starting to look like a shrivelled prune, but I'm trying not to think about it too much just yet. I'm mid 50's, so will never have the flat belly of my youth, but hey, that's why shapewear was invented.

@Autumnflowers2 I've found Medicine Marketplace and Ashcroft Pharmacy both really good, and not badly priced too.

Yes my preference is for pharmacies that don't need codes as I get anxious needing to switch each month.

https://www.pharmulous.co.uk/medications/mounjaro-injection?size=false

They get good reviews on reddit. And also are good for maintenance although I'm nowhere near there.

I was happy with medino but they did a sneaky price rise since I last ordered!!

I am paying £217 for 7.5 with BUPA

I've never switched before.
I stayed with the same company the whole time ,but they well over £400 for 15 mg now ..plus their wavygo prices are extremely high to

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 27/09/2025 15:04

Yes I was sort of lucky with Shemed that I only paid £99 a pen for the first 8months - I've now used Medino but will aim to use pharmulous going forwards.

I have obsessively spent too long googling prices (I'm broke) and pharmacies when the news about the prices broke - instead of obsessively getting on top of work/life...

£400 is a lot!!

Omg
I was diddled ..I was with treated ..I don't think there was a more expensive company I could of possibly picked .
I don't want to make that mistake a second time .
8 months at £100 a month ..I'm amazed at that price

Do you mean the link for Medino?

Or the £50 off at CheqUp?

OP posts:
TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 27/09/2025 15:46

@Autumnflowers2

Wegovy prices on CheqUp are still very good.

You're on 15mg MJ aren't you?
CheqUp will let you order the highest Wegovy dose pen (2.4mg) and it's currently £160. If you use my £50 discount, the pen will cost you £110.

Oh that wasn't a normal price - even then. Their normal price was £159 a pen regardless of dose but you start at the bottom.

I paid £99 for the pen regardless of dose but it was part of a "study" (marketing ploy more like) that had limited numbers if they signed up in Jan and you tied in for a year. They also didn't like people moving up the lower doses quickly (although that worked in my favour). It all came crashing down when the prices went up! They're a bit dubious now so I would recommend them at all now but I think I was lucky really as it worked for me!!

Fffreeeeezing · 27/09/2025 16:18

I've used medicine marketplace since the beginning (I can't be arsed with discount codes and swapping around) and I haven't had a single issue with them - and they are usually the cheapest for most doses.

Although I've just looked at Bupa and gobsmackingly they are absolutely the cheapest I've seen (they aren't on Monj) at £229 for 10mg and £249 for 12.5mg AND 15mg. You do seem to have to pay £99 for an initial appointment but if you're on 15mg, 5 months and you've saved that 🤷‍♀️

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 27/09/2025 17:32

Wow that is a good price for Bupa (although would take 10 months to save the initial £99 on my dose at 10mg vs £239 elsewhere).

Just looking at their site though - looks like they send a questionnaire to refill every 4 weeks . If thinking of using the 5th dose they may not be so happy with it which would make it more expensive? They may be fine though..!!

It looks like they want you to do the GP app every 6 months so check if you have to pay that.

They do have free access to talk to a nurse though! And a lifestyle app monthly.

I'm quite impressed. It shows you how expensive it all is if BUPA starts to look affordable !!

Autumnflowers2 · 27/09/2025 17:58

Thanks everyone
I'm on 15 mg of monjroro
And really I just want to stay with treated ..they have been great ..but I refuse to pay over £400 a pen .
I definitely don't want to have to swap each month..so one with a code for the first month ,may mean the next month's are over £300 ..which I'm also not prepared to pay ..so a code for the first month is only great if the other months are around £300
£300 a month per pen is what I'm aiming for if possible
And I want to stay on monjroro
@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne I don't know which of your codes were for monjroro, and if the second and subsequent months are around £300
Tbh there's so many companies,it feels a tad overwhelming.
Especially as I had to go through a whole questionnaire with Jupiter and voy before I got to any prices ,only to find they seem quite expensive

Autumnflowers2 · 27/09/2025 18:04

I've got to be honest, but I never had a single problem with treated ..the pen arrived within 24 hours of payment, the ice pack always still frozen solid .
No pressure to buy ,no constantly emailing me or asking for information.if I had a question it was literally answered immediately..which is why I stayed so long with them ..as they were already one of the more expensive companies,I had hoped they wouldn't increase their prices...but sadly they did ,and I just can't justify over £400 a month

SilenceInside · 27/09/2025 18:14

The cheapest for 15mg Mounjaro on the Monj site seem to be around 270 with no discount - Cured and Medicine Market Place both are doing that price. Cured seem to be doing a £15 off any order at the moment which makes it 255 for first and subsequent orders. That would seem to be a pretty reasonable price, @Autumnflowers2for 15mg.
