Hi Everyone!! I've been lurking on this thread since the end of June and have read the posts from the beginning of Thread 1 and have found them really helpful and encouraging.

I'm not one for posting usually but thought this info might be useful to some of us further along on our journey as dose size and costs increase.

I've watched on youtube and his Mounjaro Diaries. He talks and shows how to get the Golden Dose which is how I discovered him. But he also talks about the Highs and Lows of MJ in the body's system and adjusting the frequency of injections to avoid suppression troughs, esp towards the end of the week, meaning he can stay on a lower dose (cheaper).

What I've found really interesting is his Mounjaro Calculator which allows you to input the pen you have with it's cost and the dose you're wanting and automatically working out the number or Clicks needed.

EG: for a 7.5mg dose from a 15mg pen costing £310,

30 Clicks or Units
Total injections: 10 per pen
Using Clicks: 8
Using syringe: 2
Cost per week: 31.00
Approx. saving: 465.00
Cost per injection: 31.00
Pen will last: 10 weeks
Mounjaro in system: High: 10.83, Low: 5.55(Estimated, based on data from GLP1plotter.com).

Breaking it down like this encourages me to think/justify that I will be able to stay on MJ even after the price rises.

I hope this will be of interest/help for others on the WL journey.

Thank you so much for that.
I love stuff like this, with tables and calculations!

I assume this would only be relevant whilst the pens still have the extra dose in them? I don't know when they're changing the amounts, have they said when that will happen?

My order is on the road, so I've got myself in with a supplier who does maintainance and saved some money 🙂

You can opt out from using the Golden dose on the calculator so the same pen details without GD is :

30 Clicks or Units
Number of injections: 8
Cost per week: 38.75
Approx. saving: 310.00
Cost per injection: 38.75
Pen will last: 8 weeks
Mounjaro in system: High: 10.83, Low: 5.55

Ooh, I love that, thank you. I'm a bit of a number geek, so that's right up my street

Ohhh, I'm going to have to give it a watch later, see if I can stretch out what I have even longer! I want to use what I have to get to goal and then go to smaller doses. I don't really want to move to wegovy.

Fffreeeeezing · 29/08/2025 10:02

Good Morning!

Week 24 WI today and the 10mg must be my optimum dose (luckily as I have another 2 and a half pens in the fridge!) as for the second week in a row I've lost 4lbs!
That means a few milestones for me:

5stone loss (well 5st 1 technically)
and
20% of my starting weight lost

And for those of you who love stats (I do, it's the accountant in me and of course I maintain a beautiful spreadsheet) that's an average of 2.96lb per week, a BMI of 47.9 down from 59.7 and a total loss of 71lb/32kg which is allegedly the same weight as a leopard 🤣

Well done to all of the other losers this week, onwards and downwards 😁

I haven't seen anything as yet to definitely confirm this is happening. I'm sure we'll get to hear about it if/when any news 😊

Oooh, brilliant. His views are definitely going to increase! I’ll give him a watch later, I’ve been toying with the idea of taking a lower dose but more frequently i.e. 7.5mg every 5 days rather than 15mg every 7 - thanks for this

Iwouldratherbesinging · 29/08/2025 11:45

Big congrats to @eibbed999 @PearlsPearl @Lds1 @afaloren @Billybingbong @Fffreeeeezing (and anyone else I’ve missed) for the amazing scale and non scale victories 🎉
@AlicesMum2025 love the words in your post, it’s so true, we are amazing!

SecretNameforMN · 29/08/2025 12:04

@Iwouldratherbesinging

I was waiting for everything to kick in 20 minutes after taking my first jab, every itch or sneeze made me wonder if it was the mounjaro. I also found myself obsessively thinking about food, not to eat it though, but to see if I was thinking about it, crazy!

You sound exactly like me!

SilenceInside · 29/08/2025 12:14

Congratulations to everyone with scale and non-scale victories today, great to read all the updates.

I am not weighing in today, probably a bit cowardly, but I think I will show a gain as I have been having a horrible period from hell this week and have been eating crap due to being in pain and feeling sorry for myself. I am a bit cross with myself for responding that way, but all I can do is move on. I will also not be weighing in next week as I will be away on holiday, so I am hoping that by the time I next weigh in in two weeks time, I will have made some downwards progress. Or at least be the same as I was at the last weigh in. Thankfully, my holiday will be the kind where I can do lots of walking and not have any pressure to eat from other people.

Can I ask if this is an app you’re using? I feel I need to know what animal has dropped off of me so far!

PearlsPearl · 29/08/2025 13:08

Hope you have a lovely holiday @SilenceInside I don’t weigh on period weeks because I eat like mad 😁 not like old-me-mad but you know what I mean. For me it’s alllll the carbs.

It's an app called Lose It. I just use the free bits on it. I also use Shotsy, Happy Scale, Better Weight and MyFitnessPal, oh and a spreadsheet I designed. I love data and I love updating them all each Friday 🫣

Just had my monthly coaching call with BUPA and mentioned my holiday in Sept and they are sending me a certificate to be able to travel with the pen (apparently insisted on at airports). Did you all know this?

Hi, I'm not sure if anyone has responded to this yet but I travel a lot with my pen so wanted to share my experience. I've flown internationally both to the US and Europe and have never had my hand luggage pulled or inspected (going out or coming back). I do always bring the box for the pen as that has my prescription sticker on, just in case. I keep a couple of needles with the pen in my hand luggage and bring a couple in the hold luggage, just in case they somehow have issues with the needles in hand luggage. However they have never batted an eyelid.

If they're sending you a certificate, I guess it's nice to have but I think as long as you have the prescription you should be fine.

Ah I remember that one and the disappointed feeling 🤣. Thought Leopards would be a lot bigger though..... although to be fair I'm not sure I've ever been up close to one, probably for the best

Billybingbong · 29/08/2025 14:06

Another NSV here. I've just taken my monthly measurements, and to date I've lost 5" from my bust, 10" from my waist and 10" from my hips. I've also just done an updated MeThreeSixty scan, and can really see a difference. For anyone struggling to see your progress in the mirror, I would highly recommend doing this, it's amazing.

Lds1 · 29/08/2025 14:25

My order arrived so now I'll see how the pricing pans out over the next couple of months

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 29/08/2025 14:30

NSV

I have lost 41% of my starting weight.

Unbelievable to have lost 8st 1lb.

I can imagine the Maths O Level paper, telling candidates to work out what my starting weight was

@SilenceInside have a lovely holiday xx
@Fffreeeeezing will update what animal I’ve lost so far 🤭
@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne that did make me laugh, I could never do those type of questions 🤣

NSV of today
I realised I’d come downstairs without putting the new HRT patch on. So I “popped back up” - 8 months ago we were thinking I’d need a stairlift soon.
