Another steady week @Mum2Fergus well done!

TragicMuse · 13/09/2025 11:17

I have just taken my own advice and booked a personal shopping appointment for next month.

I’ve put clothes size as 18 as I think I should be there or thereabouts by then. The jeans I bought in the summer at a 20 are too big…

I’m really rather looking forward to it!

Autumnflowers2 · 13/09/2025 11:35

I'm waiting in for my vinted parcel
I've ordered a pretend fur coat 😁
See how that goes and might order more

TragicMuse · 13/09/2025 13:06

I’ve been diving into the netherworld under the bed.

Victories: 4 pairs of jeans, a load of tops I made, a denim skirt, and the thing I was looking for - a brown maxi skirt from Fat Face absolutely years ago, ‘vintage’, 😆

But apparently brown is having a moment and this is going to be one of my autumn/winter garments!

My treasured indigo moleskin jeans are a size away for now but edging closer…

I do love shopping my own wardrobe!!

Lds1 · 13/09/2025 13:17

I got rid of all my small clothes from last time I lost weight, so I have just been buying basics as stuff gets way too big. I really need some underwear, that's more difficult though as you can't try it on so I keep buying random sizes but I don't have any that fit really well right now. Was recommended a couple of brands here so will try them next.

This makes me very 😊 I did this earlier in the year with my Summer stuff. Brown is absolutely banging on trend. I think I won't get any smaller than I am, hopefully will just tone up so I'm buying beautiful clothes now, still secondhand but happy to pay more than £1 an item now.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 13/09/2025 15:44

See, it’s addictive…! I’ve received a gorgeous dress today and have ordered some fancy shoes now as well… and I’ve already got a skirt on its way to me too. Thankfully all at amazingly cheap prices so it’s not breaking the bank.

eibbed999 · 13/09/2025 17:06

This is the Disturbia dress I got off Vinted @Autumnflowers2 @Lds1 - for sizing reference I'm 5 foot 8 and currently 18 stone. This is a size 18, slightly tight on the chest but otherwise quite a forgiving fit.

@TragicMuse I love the idea of shopping from your own clothes!

Takes me a while to get there 😁

NSV. I am at a theatre I came to at my highest weight and I didn’t fit in the seats. I had to sort of perch diagonally; it was desperately uncomfortable and I got bruises.

Now I fit in the seat! Comfortably. Feel quite emotional. (Don’t worry the show hasn’t started yet!)

PearlsPearl · 13/09/2025 19:46

So happy for you @afaloren, that's happened to me before too. Have a great evening and enjoy the show!

@eibbed999 love the dress.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 13/09/2025 19:50

I've still got such a round stomach I think it will be a while before I'm buying Normal person clothes... Today's very up and down.

Up - I've even on a first aid course which involved being on the floor, moving "patients" and doing cpr. In the instructions it did say you needed to be comfortable doing these things. As I did it I was just so grateful. A year ago I wouldn't be able to do this and would have struggled with the course so much.

Down - so very very tired /stressed/weak.

My sleep is still not good. And I've come home and just laid in bed. My whole body is exhausted. I hope it's not the dose. It's the 4th jab of 10 yesterday. I don't really want to drop back down but don't know if I want to be like this forever. Sleep is tricky (waking up alert in the night) and. Just the fatigue the day or two after jabbing in particular is like when I started and when I went upto 5.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 13/09/2025 19:51

Oh and I'm SIX STONE down. It's crazy. I've come so very very far. Yet so far to go!

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 13/09/2025 19:54

Oh and at one point he's mentioning the airways if you have a severely obese patient and how to manage it. .. I felt so self conscious that that would have been me but the people there didn't know that. I was still biggest in the room but people didn't look at me or glance at me or reference me. But it's also sad to think that would have been me if I'd been on the course in Jan/in an emergency... 😔. We're so lucky to have the chance to escape this.

Well done, that must be a great feeling. My “Enough is enough” moment came when I went to watch a long awaited show at our local theatre and had exactly the same experience as you.
bum cheeks on the edge of the seat then alternating between lying diagonally back or crouching forward. Very uncomfortable!

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden congratulations on hitting the 6 stone off mark, that is amazing! I am sorry to hear that you are getting the fatigue and tiredness back, I hope it improves and goes away for you soon. You could try dropping back down to a dose somewhere between 7.5mg and 10mg maybe?

@afaloren I have just been to the theatre tonight and experienced exactly the same. I say down and realised that I hadn't felt dread either walking to find my seat and wondering whether I'd actually fit into it.
