And me ,I find it bizarre when people tell me it stops them wanting food ,they forget to eat meals and are never hungry..I've literally had no side effects, even on 15 mg ..and I'm still spending a lot of time thinking about food wanting food

I could quite happily not eat for days and days, then I'm starving it's odd

My chemist's price for a 15mg pen is £340, it's just madness! I'm going to shop around!

@TheBeesTrees try pharmolous. It’s £274 with free p&p

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 02/09/2025 15:50

@TheBeesTrees Medino's price is £289.99

I have a code for a 10% discount, which brings it down to £260.
Send me a PM if you're interested.

I want jaffa cakes now, I'll forever miss the Europeans ones that I used to get in wilko that were cherry with a mix or dark and white chocolate.
Instead I've had a bag of iced gems which are also a handy low cal treat (92 calories) when I was a kid I just used to eat the 'gem' and leave the biscuit but even if I wanted to be wasteful how would I track that 🤣

TragicMuse · 02/09/2025 16:42

I’m due to jab tomorrow and there’s a mini roll yelling at me from across the office!

I am ignoring its siren call.

But I wants it!

TragicMuse · 02/09/2025 16:46

Meanwhile I have no idea what to cook tonight. Himself is vegetarian and I don’t think we have much in as I was away at the weekend and haven’t kept on top of what we have.

A maximum of 600 calories is available. I did curry last night so not that. Tbh, I don’t really want anything. I cannot be bothered to think about it!!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne It's the huge jump between the doses which makes the rises so stark - I know I'm really fortunate that 5mg has worked well for me since I started, I so feel for those on higher doses who are facing such jumps.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 02/09/2025 17:24

Even though Medino have been very poor about communicating, their prices seem better, especially if you use a discount code.

Janie934 · 02/09/2025 17:29

I'm with Voy who have historically been expensive but it was easy and I had a £30 discount (cant remember why, some kind of deal when I went up a dose I think) and whilst their prices for new clients are horrific, for existing clients they are giving a lower price and have confirmed they'll honour my £30 discount so my 15mg pen should be £269 which puts them at the lower end of the post 1 September prices. I could probably save a bit by using new client deals each month but in all honesty I dont have the time to add that to my to do list, so I think I'll be sticking with Voy which a week or two ago I thought was unlikely as I was convinced they'd charge me £320-350. I'm very happy to be wrong!

Iwouldratherbesinging · 02/09/2025 17:36

Ah! Congratulations @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne on being officially overweight! That’s brilliant, I’m very close behind you, registered with a bmi of exactly 30 this morning, so fingers crossed for next week, although I’ll be in France without access to scales so it’ll probably be the week after. But well done you 🎉🎉

Iwouldratherbesinging · 02/09/2025 17:50

@Doggymummar 700 calories for granola!! I do like treating myself to a tablespoons worth on top of Greek yogurt sometimes. I can remember back in the day eating a whole box of Alpen in one day, and with extra sugar on top 😂

I don’t think I’ve ever broken a chair, certainly had the fear though. My most mortifying incident was falling off of a boat on the Norfolk broads, I managed to swim to the bank which was really high and couldn’t get out, it took 5 men to lift me up onto the bank, I kept apologising to them the whole time, they were all so lovely about it but I dread to think about their conversations after. I certainly gave them a workout

@PearlsPearl thats such an awful experience for you, sending hugs x

TragicMuse · 02/09/2025 10:05

My e-surgery pen has been approved! And at the old price! So that means I have 5th dose of 7.5, another 7.5 in hand and then this 10mg so I should be good for another 11 weeks or so…

I really like the idea of getting a higher dose and short-dosing from that though. It seems madly economical…

I am as relieved as you!! 🤣🤣

PearlsPearl · 02/09/2025 18:25

"Oh, and in case you haven't already noticed, another side to my crazy mind, I'm an inherent over sharer 😊"

I think all on here will agree this applies to me too, @Billybingbong!

Quick question - those of you who recommend greek yogurt for breakfast - are we talking full fat or fat free? I don't know which is best!

Missingducks · 02/09/2025 18:29

Greek yogurt - i was told by someone I trust that full fat is the good fat and calcium and protein - I think it's adding honey and jam that can cause an issue. Ohhhh now I wish I hadn't said that because now I want to try it with Marmite ...

PearlsPearl · 02/09/2025 18:43

Oh. I always add honey 😋I can't stand it otherwise! I do log the calories though.

I'm asking cos I don't know which is better for you.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 02/09/2025 19:37

I only have full fat Greek yogurt as well, and with a squeeze of honey, it has healthy fats and nutrients whereas many low fat or 0% fat have additives. I did tell myself when I started this journey that I was going to try and avoid the low fat low sugar alternative products… saying that I had low fat low sugar custard with roasted rhubarb at the weekend 😂

52soon · 02/09/2025 19:45

I’ve not posted for a while but read posts daily and cheer along with everyone’s achievements, I’ve finally had my own today, I’ve reached 2 stone loss🎉 jab 20 for me tomorrow. Starting BMI 47.8 now 42.5, I also bought myself 2 new tops today from Tesco size 20 and XL instead of 24 and XXL I could never fit in Tesco clothes before. I lose Ave 1.5 per week so slow and steady but moving. 2lbs to go and I’ll be in the 15’s (I am very short). I get my diabetic bloods done again next month and am hoping to see a good drop in HbA1c. All my size 24’s now hang off me.

Hellenicnim · 02/09/2025 19:55

Full fat greek yogurt is apparently better for satiety but the low fat/fat free has more protein (for less calories) apparently so I guess depends on goals.

I always have full fat but I'm at the start so my calorie allowance is quite generous (a thing I fret about as it seems a lot but I don't want to go too low too soon and end up with nowhere to reduce!)

TragicMuse · 02/09/2025 21:14

I’ve handed in my dissertation so now I need a reward! Obviously that would have been food-based in the past. And it kinda still is, I’m going to buy a pretty tiffin tin for my lunches!

Rainbowcat99 · 02/09/2025 21:20

Well I’ve had a rubbish day today, the first time since I started my appetite and sugar cravings just came roaring back, it was so intense and I had a little bit of a pig out (although I did get full and stop much faster than usual!) I was due a jab so have had my next dose and it’s all settled again. Is this something that other people have experienced?
The intensity of the feelings took me by surprise.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 02/09/2025 21:28

Hey well done @52soon that's a great start!

@Rainbowcat99 having days when intense cravings take over is pretty normal, especially when it's time for another jab. So don't worry.

Thanks @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne I thought it was probably part of the process but I’ve been so chilled so far that it caught me unawares!

Thanks @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne I thought it was probably part of the process but I’ve been so chilled so far that it caught me unawares!

I can go for days when the suppression is good, then all of a sudden, I lose control.
But it's brief, and the next day, I always get back on track.

My weightloss has continued despite this. Yes, it's slowed down, but it's still on a downward path.
