I'm not going to work out the cost, BUT I was seriously considering a 13k gastric bypass, sooooo still much cheaper!

Broon looking fantastic, how wonderful you look, enjoy those Jaffa cakes!

SilenceInside · 01/09/2025 20:58

@Onenotsosmallstep your holiday sounds amazing, 17k steps a day is impressive. I’m away on holiday at the moment and just about getting 10k in a day. I’m doing stationary activities in the morning and afternoons so I’m doing evening walks to try to hit my 10k daily.

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/09/2025 21:04

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 01/09/2025 19:04

........obv if a wimp and stay on lower doses then cost will be less then £2k

Oh Blondes that made me laugh.
🤣🤣🤣

I try to give pleasure

I don’t think mj does A lot for me as zero side effects and I still wanted crisps - chocolate etc even on 15 but I have learnt to stop when full. Leave food on a plate

I'm kind of the same.
I had no trouble this evening, eating 10 Jaffa Cakes.

And my side-effects have been almost non-existent. I'm the same with all medication.

Ahh hope you’re having a fab time. 6 months ago it would never have occurred to me to book a holiday where you’re on your feet all day! The a whole world is literally opening up 😊

I'm ashamed to admit that I once had a serious medical emergency and was unconscious upstairs in my house. It was life or death to get me to hospital... but there was a delay as the ambulance service called the fire service to get me down the stairs 😔I was 21 stone at the time. I wish that had been my rock bottom to change... but no. Mortified with shame every time I remember it.

This feels so raw I actually welled up, especially with neurodiversities having these experiences stuck in your head is so hard. Never again though Pearls 💪

Morning all! @PearlsPearl, big hugs to you. I had an accident last year and as I was lying there on the floor waiting for the ambulance, all I could think about was 'how will they ever move me?' Hopefully we won't be needing ambulances any time soon, but at least the weight won't be as much of an issue.

Someone mentioned sunbeds. Holidays have been hell for so long. When I'm looking at booking a place I always check the pics to see if they have those basic plastic ones, where you can feel them buckling as you very carefully lower your bulk down...and deck chairs. How do even thin people sit in those????

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 01/09/2025 22:45

No, I stuffed myself.

I actually burst out laughing when I read you were celebrating with a pack of jaffa cakes 😂 Thing is, with lifestyle changes and Mounjaro, it feels so much easier to get back on track after a little splurge, a weekend away, etc.
You look amazing in that photo. That will be me eventually. 14st 7lb this morning. Bulging tummy and chunky thighs still, unlike you svelte thing @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne

Lds1 · 02/09/2025 09:08

I mean these days a pack of Jaffa cakes is so small by the time you've eaten a couple the rest are fair game 😂

Mum2Fergus · 02/09/2025 09:15

Boots got back to me at last. 5mg order approved (£197.10). Just need text confirmation that it’s in stock/ready to collect…hopefully before short holiday starting Thursday. I have bonus shot in last pen as contingency though.

I'm feeling extremely bloated this week! Not felt like this for months…and yesterday I could have grazed all day. Again, a feeling I’ve long since felt.

Mum2Fergus · 02/09/2025 09:17

I’ve literally just posted and just this minute received text from Boots to say order ready for collection…that is unheard of for me so far! Usually at least 36-48hrs.

I thought they'd all be up and running soon after the 1st but thought it might take a few more days! That's fab.

I've had the worry about ambulances (at 21/22stone too funnily enough) while watching them take my mum downstairs and realising they wouldn't have been a belt it take me. I'm sorry it happened to you 😔. It must happen to a lot of us and it a horrible it leaves a feeling of shame. There's so many emotions around being extra large that we will have absorbed aren't there. And I guess even with weight loss that experience will be with us.

I had a dental operation recently that ideally for me would have been under anaesthetic (removing a plate from my jaw) but at the time of booking it they wouldn't consider it.... They were polite about it but it would have been so much less traumatic if I'd been asleep. I wonder what the weight is for non urgent operations to be safe? Anyone know? My mums getting a hip operation and again I wondered the weight requirement.

I've woken feeling so sick today. I had a canned G and T yesterday and a McDonald's cheeseburger. It wasn't even nice. I assume it's that as I'm still sulphur burpy. I was planning to work a bit at home this morning but really feel rough and am still in bed. Any idea how to make it go or is it just waiting it out? I've not felt like this on MJ since early on.

Billybingbong · 02/09/2025 09:58

I'm away on holiday at the moment, but just grabbed some quiet time to catch up with you lovely lot.

The talk of the link between obesity and autism/ADHD is an interesting one. I too am neurodivergent, and so much of what has been said resonates with me. The disordered mind, the over obsession with food, diets, hobbies. I start a new interest, buy all the gear, then get bored and move onto something new, rinse and repeat. Nobody outside of my inner circle (and now you guys) really knows that side of me. I hold down a responsible job, have a lovely group of friends, and have managed to bring two amazing children up relatively unscathed. Today is our 30th wedding anniversary, and life's good. Made even better by being fitter and healthier than ive been in a very long time.

Oh, and in case you haven't already noticed, another side to my crazy mind, I'm an inherent over sharer 😊

I hope you all have/are having a fab week. We're off to celebrate our day with family, and I'll do my best to avoid the cake x

TragicMuse · 02/09/2025 10:05

My e-surgery pen has been approved! And at the old price! So that means I have 5th dose of 7.5, another 7.5 in hand and then this 10mg so I should be good for another 11 weeks or so…

I really like the idea of getting a higher dose and short-dosing from that though. It seems madly economical…

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 02/09/2025 10:14

Hi @FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden have you got any cyclizine tablets?
One of those and a swig of Gaviscon should help.

Whoever said that Jaffa Cakes have got smaller over the years wasn't wrong. Biscuit manufacturers over the years have a lot to answer for.

Medino's Wegovy price list. It's very expensive from them.

But from CheqUp I can get a 2.4mg Wegovy pen for £160.

If I use a £50 discount, that's only £110. Much cheaper.

My 10mg is being delivered today for which I paid £135 last week, that feels like an absolute bargain right now!

And me ,I find it bizarre when people tell me it stops them wanting food ,they forget to eat meals and are never hungry..I've literally had no side effects, even on 15 mg ..and I'm still spending a lot of time thinking about food wanting food

PinkArt · 02/09/2025 11:58

A packet is a jaffa cake serving size as far as I'm concerned! And only 450 calories thanks to shrinkflation.

TheBeesTrees · 02/09/2025 13:42

My chemist's price for a 15mg pen is £340, it's just madness! I'm going to shop around!
