I've just done a photo comparison and I look so different from January. But June to August I look the same 😳.
I'm hoping for a few more hours work this term to help pay for it but if it's another year... That is A Lot...

Autumnflowers2 · 31/08/2025 01:36

I ventured on to another weight loss thread and wish I hadn't
Someone said ,"if you can still eat on 15 mg of monjroro it's obviously not working for you ,and that's a lot of money to waste ,and you should think about swapping to ozempic "
That's not right ...is it ..
We are meant to be eating ...
Unless the person means want to eat ..I'm hungry all the time on monjroro, and I still like to eat 😕😬😮
A friend has recently started taking it ,she's on 5 mg ,and never wants to eat ...that didn't happen for me ..I've needed an awful lot of willpower as well as monjroro..

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 31/08/2025 01:46

@Autumnflowers2
Don't worry.
Of course you should still be hungry on Mounjaro.

WLI aren't supposed to stop you from feeling hungry. They slow down the rate at which your stomach empties, put simply, so you feel a lot less hungry. Mounjaro also stimulates a couple of hormones which don't seem to work so well in obese people and diabetics.

Mounjaro is a type of medication you might need to take if you have type 2 dia

I'd steer clear of the other weight loss threads.

Yes
I usually do steer clear of other w l threads
But I read everything on this one and couldn't sleep 😴

Autumnflowers2 · 31/08/2025 02:04

I did an hour swimming today ,an hour on my exercise bike and half an hour rowing .
But I didn't manage to count calories,I think I came in around 1300 /1400
Probably why I can't sleep,a bit hyped up

getthingsdone · 31/08/2025 06:36

Good morning everybody!
I had an interesting NSV yesterday:
I own a lovely linen tunic which I normally wear with a pair of skinny jeans. Turns out the tunic is really a summer dress which goes right down to my knees now that my stomach isn't in the way that much anymore!😂
I'm keeping the dress for now and will try to wear it as intended - as a summer dress - if temperatures allow for it.

It is interesting how clothes look different as we lose weight. They hang differently.

I have made myself a couple of new tops as old ones are just not working now. I have had to start altering patterns, not simply go down a size because my shoulders have lost weight.

Who knew shoulders lose weight?

I can now make a top out of 2 metres of fabric. Previously it was 3 metres. Because I was nervous of not being able to fit pattern pieces I would often buy 5 metres. This means I have quite a lot of 2 metre lengths in my stash. Free clothes!

PearlsPearl · 31/08/2025 07:42

Pharmacy Express’s new prices. They’ve been good to use for me.

Also, I read a thread yesterday that pissed me off too. Someone saying people only get side effects cos they’re eating the wrong food and too much of it 🙄😤

PearlsPearl · 31/08/2025 07:48

And now I’ve argued back with her which I’m annoyed at myself for doing so, as life is too short to argue with idiots on the internet 😤🤦🏻‍♀️

In other better news... Sunday weigh in and I've lost 3lb so I've hit a big milestone!

I've lost 25% of my body weight. My ultimate goal is to lose 50% of it, so I'm, half way there 😍

From 22.3 stone to 16.9. Woohoo!

(Are there any good apps which will do the maths for me please?! I use Shotsy and Nutracheck already)

Lds1 · 31/08/2025 08:08

Doesn't shotsy tell you that on the results page. The box called %percent. Mines at 41% currently.

Congratulations. There is something special about going under a stone category, even by half a pound. My starting weight ended in a 1 (pound) and I look forward to seeing it go under the stone below it!

Yes it does thanks but mine only shows the weight I've lost since mj started (I lost 2.5stone on my own before then) so I was looking for one overall. I'm bad at maths!

GnomeDePlume · 31/08/2025 08:48

@PearlsPearl I think some people do lack imagination or empathy. They think that what works for them will work for everyone.

We, on this thread, know that life is not that straightforward.

We offer suggestions but understand that what works for one person may not work for another for a myriad of reasons. Because, we aren't all the same!

Janie934 · 31/08/2025 09:48

Another NSV for me - last night I wore a dress that I bought in the sales circa 10 years ago and have never fitted into. At the time I bought it I was convinced I'd diet into it so kept it anyway (I suppose I did eventually just not in the timescale I thought!)

I have been discovering Vinted over the last few weeks. Sold lots of clothes that are now too big and I've left the money as a credit on my account so I can use it to buy smaller sizes.

Iwouldratherbesinging · 31/08/2025 09:59

@SecretNameforMN I can only echo what everyone else before me has said, it’s safe here, no one judges anyone else. We’ve all had similar experiences so can empathise but we also know the journey ahead feels daunting but there is, I can promise you, so much joy on the way and I can’t wait until you start finding those little things that make all the difference. We are all definitely rooting for you 😍

Doggymummar · 31/08/2025 10:02

Some lovely NSVs here ladies. I spent about 45 minutes at 3am hugging the toilet bowl throwing up and up and up. Had sulphur burps since Friday which I know was a handful of chips from the chip shop which I had with two duck legs. Yesterday I could not stop eating crap, I mean a proper binge the like if which I have never done. Crisps, brownies, curly wurly topped off with a burger and chips from just eat. Then I had a JD and coke in one of those premix cans. Went to bed at 11 and woke up sweating and room spinning at 3. Took a bucket to bed but didn't need it thankfully. Today I feel like a horse kicked me and I swallowed sand ⏳

I don't know what the measurements are on the scales but I weigh 159.8 today which is a new low, do not recommend it as a method tho. I am going to try to eat properly this week. I do rely on snacks too much and not meals.

Motnight · 31/08/2025 10:06

Loving the NSVs.

Went out on Friday with an ex colleague whom I hadn't seen since probably March. She told me that I looked gorgeous and healthy so I'll take that 😬.

Amazing @PearlsPearl it’s exhilarating looking at the stats, I love the Primark photo!

So nice, just gives you a little boost. If I had a tail I would wag it with this comment

Iwouldratherbesinging · 31/08/2025 10:37

Another thing I’ve noticed recently (I do know how much we love to share) and this may only resonate with people of a certain age but my bladder control has improved 100%. I had a very weak pelvic floor, coughing, sneezing, laughing and exercises would fill me with dread and I had mild stress urinary incontinence. I had just put this down to age and child birth and thought it was something I had to accept, but nope, I now have the pelvic floor control of a super woman!

Had a ‘gig’ last night that used to fill me with dread but I only had the usual initial stage fright rather than worrying about what everyone thought of my body and staring at me for the wrong reasons. I looked back at some photos and this is a comparison from August last year to August this year! It’s so freeing, I really cannot find the words to explain the feeling.

Wow @Iwouldratherbesinging you look fabulous 😍 and now you mention it I barely wear panty liners anymore. I'd not noticed.
