Mounjaro/Wegovy with >5 stone/30kg to lose - thread 10!

MooBaggage · 22/08/2025 15:21

New thread for anyone with more than 5 stone/30kg to lose. All welcome, whichever part of the journey you are on.

We have newbies and those who have got to their targets and lots of us in between at various stages, all supporting each other along the way.

Kiwis and milled flaxseed are still the order of the day, along with water, posh scales, weight loss charts (thank you Infosec!), Vinted and even more water...

We're coping with the Mounjaro palavers and hoping that somehow, we will all still be able to carry on with this amazing journey which is working so well for most of us.

No discount codes please - there is a separate thread for that.

Just a little update - I am at the beginning of maintenance and v nervous about whether I can do this part, since I have never managed it before. I was away last week staying with family, there were birthdays and pub lunches, and I gained 2.6lbs. With my rational head on I knew this was absolutely fine and normal, but I still felt quite twitchy that my weight loss was too good to be true and now I’m going to regain the 6 st that I’ve lost. Or - maybe I could lose that 2.6lbs again but it might take a month of trying.

BUT - I’ve lost it! In three days, not trying particularly, just eating in my normal weight loss way. My body has pinged straight back to where it was when I decided I’d lost enough weight. Now - I am still taking MJ but have reduced the dose from 10mg to 7.5mg so far. So anything could happen as I continue down the doses. But it’s such a relief not to have fallen at the first maintenance hurdle and I am daring to hope that my body might like being this weight and will attempt to stay here in future.

So far, so good and I am celebrating with some golden kiwis for lunch 🥝💪

nailslikeknives · 28/08/2025 14:27

Boob based NSV to report!
I’ve lost 3st 3lb since 6th June and my mono-boob sports bras had become baggy, the puppies inside them drooping sadly!

So I bought new bras at the weekend and hurrah, I now clearly have TWO boobs not just a mound of flesh!
I was very surprised to go up from cup e to g, but nice to go down 2 back sizes.
M&S minimizer in case anyone else is on the hunt. Soft, underwired, plain, comfy.
Approx 4 stone to go so only bought a few, but seeing an actual figure emerging in the mirror is a real mood boost!

ANutAsBigAsABoulder · 28/08/2025 14:43

Sounds great you could have a week celebrating @gimmemounjaro and then get back to your new weight level. It’s a big adjustment to thinking when you get to maintenance - I’ve been there before (a long time ago now! - and it does take getting used to once you’re out of ‘more to lose’ mode.

Operation been postponed AGAIN! So cross! But have injected my MJ as soon as I found out, because I’ve been feeling so shit these last few days. No idea when my next date will be

Oh what a pain! It’s so hard when they get pushed back. But silver lining that you can carry on with MJ for a bit without worrying.

7.5 is being worse than useless for me at the moment. I’m absolutely starving and food noise feels worse than ever. I’m due my fourth on Monday. I think I’m going to move it to Sunday, and instead of using a fifth dose, I’ll increase it to 8.5, need to work out the amounts.

Seahorsesplendour · 28/08/2025 20:36

@OnwardsDownwards I could have written your post!

Apart from the fact it was my second jab from second 7.5mg pen was due tomorrow .

I did it today as the food noise has really increased this week & was starving yesterday! but no effect at all yet , I think I’ll wait & see if any increase tomorrow if not I’m forfeiting the golden dose and topping this & the next dose up!!

very frustrating given the current circumstances but heho, onwards & downwards we go!!

AnneinEdinburgh · 28/08/2025 22:19

Did everyone see that prices are being negotiated with eli lilly and whilst it's a big increase it may not be as bad as anticipated

Darlinghag · 28/08/2025 23:40

I’ve seen this, I wondered if the news is just behind? Given hikes haven’t been 170% as initially advertised?

Any of the ASDA crew received pens yet? I was approved late Monday, got my dispatch tracking on Tuesday, but DPD haven’t noted it as in their hands yet.

I did get an email yesterday (like a generic one) giving a timeline but I’m not sure how accurate it is, given that I was approved on the 25th despite the email saying it would be 27th/28th. I wonder if they produce a tracking code at approval and then just batch all the dispatches in one hit??

Seahorsesplendour · 29/08/2025 07:29

I got my asda delivery 2 days after tracking email but couple of people on other thread I’m on it was more like 4 days so 🤞🏻it shows up today for you @Darlinghag

gimmemounjaro · 29/08/2025 08:49

Anyone getting any joy from Simple Online Pharmacy at the moment? It’s been more than two weeks since my last order and I was hoping to sneak one more in before September but it comes up with two error messages simultaneously - one says I am ordering too early (but 2-3 weeks has never been a problem before), the other says I have exceeded the purchase limit (I am trying to buy one pen). Are they just out of stock but not saying so? Shame as I was only shopping there because I am an existing patient and could access the old prices - if I have to wait until September I might as well go elsewhere for the better maintenance flexibility. So tara SOP, hello Swift and/or Pharmulous.

MooBaggage · 29/08/2025 08:53

@gimmemounjaro I think I tried all the suppliers in the known universe yesterday, but none had any stock/were only selling to existing customers - I've got a new pen so was just trying to get one more in before next week, but have definitely given up. I was lucky to get one last week just after pay day and will be starting it on Monday, so know I have 5 x weeks supply and have accepted it's new prices from next week...

I keep meaning to mention this, then instantly forgetting to post...

In case it's helpful - I buy collagen and creatine from Nutrition Geeks (this isn't an advert for them though, honest!) and they sent me a freebie packet of Biotin tablets with my last order - have been taking them every day for the past month or so and have definitely noticed reduced hair loss.

It could be complete coincidence, as my weight loss has slowed down and is now a very steady 1 - 1.5lbs a week, so it could be my body adjusting to what's going on, but I was losing a lot of hair initially and was quite worried, so am just glad it's back to its normal just a bit when I'm washing it, rather than all the sodding time.

Regardless, I've just placed an order for 3 months of Biotin tablets, so the freebie offer certainly worked on me!

(my kitchen looks like a bloody science lab now, with all the various potions and powders.... 🙄😁)

gimmemounjaro · 29/08/2025 09:02

@MooBaggage It’s weird, I’m guessing SOP must be out of stock because everyone else seems to be, but there’s no indication of that on the website, it says they are only selling to existing patients and that processing times are a bit longer than usual. So deffo suggesting they have stock and in the FAQs it says they have “ample”. It lets you go all the way to agreeing the ts+cs and only when you try to click through to the payment page does it tell you not to be so greedy ordering a whole 5mg pen 2-3 weeks after the last one 😂

I am an existing customer and got my last pen from them, I have an account and have logged in. Hey ho. I will keep trying over the weekend just in case. I guess I could also try MedExpress as I have also used them in the past.

GiveMeWordGames · 29/08/2025 09:04

@MooBaggage oh, that's interesting. I like Nutrition Geeks' stuff, I've often bought their Magnesium, and vitamin B complex, formulas. I might give the biotin a go.

@AnneinEdinburgh I think that's the press playing catch up with pre-existing facts - their reporting on this whole thing has been very reactive and inaccurate. Not just the beeb either, they're all as bad as each other on this topic!!

gimmemounjaro · 29/08/2025 09:12

Ok MedExpress current prices are higher than Pharmulous new prices so scrap that! Never mind, I am lucky to be after the cheaper end I guess, so will order next week and suck up the increase.

MabelSpan · 29/08/2025 09:18

@Darlinghag I ordered with Asda on 15th, a low dose bundle, it got approved on Tues 26th Aug and delivered by DPD on Wed 27th Aug. Guessing mine was faster as only low doses. Sure yours will arrive soon. Fingers crossed🙂

AnneinEdinburgh · 29/08/2025 10:41

I ordered from Medexpress a couple of weeks ago and no sign of a pen yet, though of course they took the money!

Reginaphalangeeeee · 29/08/2025 11:09

Hi there all. I found you!

I am on holiday and trying to be present and enjoy myself. Been looking forward to it so much but a few days before leaving I missed my SheMed delivery of 10mg pen. RM took a photo of ‘safe place’ which was not my property. I have raised it with SheMed who said would investigate. I explained it meant Inwould not have a pen to take away on holiday. They said missing <1 week would be no harm.
Well I have brought my golden dose with me (they ofcourse do not know or recommend).

So then while away SheMed send rubbish email that really upset me. I trusted being on the study supply and price would continue. I signed up for 12 month (7 months in).
They said to stay on same price moving to Wegovy which I do not want to do. Original contract said only move if CLINICALLY required! I can pay £279 to stay on 10mg MJ with them.

As I have been away I haven’t looked else where for what is available or other prices. I don’t know what to do.
I have never got from anywhere else but SheMed (who still owe me a pen but maybe will just refund me then
make me purchase new price?).
I don’t know if I can even use my current SheMed prescription else where? It looks just like a letter to my GP with dose on.

Can anyone offer me any advice. I am back in the country on Wednesday. By that time I fear I will have missed a chance to do something?

sending you all love &strength. I know I can’t be the only one feeling scared and worried right now in need of hand holding.

Evenstar · 29/08/2025 11:19

Sort of NSV this week, the scales are barely moving but I am having to take the size 18 dress I bought for a black tie event next weekend to be altered as the bodice is gaping. Unfortunately the alternative in size 16 that I bought from Vinted as a contingency won’t zip up 🙄

I could do without the hassle, but I suppose it is still an NSV

Evenstar · 29/08/2025 11:23

@Reginaphalangeeeee no advice as I am still waiting for stock to come in of 12.5 at ASDA, feel like there is no point in “jumping ship” with the current supply issues.

Here to hold your hand, it is so upsetting to find something that works and then have the rug pulled from under us.

MooBaggage · 29/08/2025 11:37

@Reginaphalangeeeee What a nightmare - I'm so sorry 😔

It feels like the suppliers are all taking such advantage of the current mess... I'm not sure there is much you can do, to be honest - everywhere seems to be out of stock and not likely to respond anyway. Such a bloody mess...

Try to enjoy the rest of your holiday and hopefully by Wednesday we will at least know the new prices and companies will magically be back in touch and have stock to sell at ridiculous prices 🙄

You need to try and get the missing pen delivered though - or a refund (but ideally the pen at the current price).

Will keep fingers crossed that you get it all sorted out when you're back.

NSV (just as well as scales have slowed again - need more water).

I spent a lovely day with a friend on Bank Holiday Monday out walking in my town and she sent me a photo she took of me - a full length picture. I really loved the picture.

And then on one of my photo aps a "one year ago" pic of DD's and I on holiday popped up. I had already lost 5 kilos on MJ by this stage. But the difference between the 2 photos was clearly very evident.

It was pleasently confronting to see the glaringly obvious difference losing 38 kilos makes, & now I understand why some people aren't recognising me or are doing a double take.

Slowrunning · 29/08/2025 13:14

@Reginaphalangeeeee Try to enjoy your holiday and not worry too much about it. The price increases took us all by surprise but there is nothing you can do at the moment.

I assume that because Shemed are changing the price substantially that you can now come out of their subscription model without any issues. In that case you can shop around for a new supplier when you are back. Yes the prices will be more but at least you can choose and companies will have stock next week.

Slowrunning · 29/08/2025 13:17

Just went onto Pharmulous who I use to see if there new prices are up and they have had stock in today but are limiting it to current customers which I like. I don’t need a pen at the moment but I’m glad I chose this company for maintenance.
