Mounjaro/Wegovy with >5 stone/30kg to lose - thread 10!

New thread for anyone with more than 5 stone/30kg to lose. All welcome, whichever part of the journey you are on.

We have newbies and those who have got to their targets and lots of us in between at various stages, all supporting each other along the way.

Kiwis and milled flaxseed are still the order of the day, along with water, posh scales, weight loss charts (thank you Infosec!), Vinted and even more water...

We're coping with the Mounjaro palavers and hoping that somehow, we will all still be able to carry on with this amazing journey which is working so well for most of us.

No discount codes please - there is a separate thread for that.

The other variable I guess is Mounjaro @InfoSecInTheCity - so if you’re happy with what you’re eating but would prefer to stop losing weight you could always try reducing the dose a bit. I have started to find that I can eat more on the couple of days before injection day, for the first time really. So that helps to keep me from losing across the week. I do tend to lose otherwise unless I eat until I feel uncomfortable. It’s definitely a balancing act! And some days are just inexplicably hungry days and others are inexplicably don’t fancy food much days. It’s a very confusing interesting process! I have managed 6 weeks so far of maintenance, staying within a 10lb window, so at least my fears of immediately regaining 6 stone in the first couple of months have not come to pass!

Dose is an interesting game for me, I’ve never gone above 10mg which is what I’m on at the moment, but I’m prescribed for diabetes so for me and my GP the dose is more about keeping my blood sugars under control than my eating.

So I might reduce but it would have to be done with lots of testing at the same time to make sure my sugar levels don’t go up as my dose goes down. MJ has allowed me to ditch insulin and metformin and has kept my levels in the normal range for the last year which the other meds weren’t doing so I’m hesitant to do anything that could change that.

Wow! So many amazing achievements on this thread over there past few days! It's great to see how well you are all doing.

McGuyverTheCat · 25/09/2025 08:38

Hi everyone I’m after some advice. I’ve lost 54 lbs overall (39 since starting MJ in May). I’m on 6.25mg currently. I’ve gone from a size 22 to a 16 (yay for Vinted small I can say!). My neck is getting very crepey and I’ve been putting Nivea ‘Q10 on twice a day as recommended by people on here. It’s definitely helped a bit but at age 52 I acknowledge my skin won’t ping back as it would have a few years ago. Do you think a collagen supplement would be helpful? It would also help my hair too I think. I’ve been trying to research online and it’s confusion - marine or animal? Power or tablet? £16 or £60? Best brand?

🎉🎉 I’m overweight. 🎉🎉

Congratulations. Me too. What a feeling❤

NewbieMJ · 25/09/2025 09:46

Congratulations everyone, especially @InfoSecInTheCity . You are amazing!

@McGuyverTheCat I would recommend Nutrition Geeks Collagen powder. A few of us on here use it. I can tell the difference in days when I run out, so making a note not to run out.

Welcome back @alwaysscared That is a great update.

UnimaginableWindBird · 25/09/2025 10:05

The nutrition geeks collagen really upset my stomach even in tiny quantities so I'm going to try marine this month.

gimmemounjaro · 25/09/2025 12:36

I use this collagen - not sure if it makes a difference but I haven’t had any hair loss so far 🤞
And it’s palatable, I have it in my morning coffee quite happily

RobinEllacotStrike · 25/09/2025 14:41

I'm too erratic with taking the collagen - must make more of an effort.
I've got Marine collagen from Nutrigold - its a good brand but I've no idea if the collagen makes any difference. It has a very mild taste & I take it in water or add to smoothie. Another woman on this thread (sorry can't recall who it was) didn't like the taste though.

They have 50% off stock with a short expiry date at the moment

I just realised that yesterday was my 6 month MJ anniversary! I really wish I could have hit a perfect 4 stone loss but 1.25lbs away from that isn't bad I suppose. So in celebration I'm daring to post a pic or two. "Then" isn't even before I started, it's 15th April, 3 weeks in after my second appointment when my pharmacist suggested doing photos. So I'd already lost about 10lb.

Aw, thank-you, you lovely lot! 😘I really needed to remind myself how far I've come because it's been a rather frustrating week, and I'm so glad I've got the photos to show me that.

Happy Friday, you lovely losers.

Welcome back, @alwaysscared. It's lovely to see your name pop up and I'm so pleased for you that you have broken your stall. I hope your son is doing well.

You will be so glad that you took progress photos, @GiveMeWordGames! Well done on your loss so far. I hope you are galvanised for the days ahead.

Halving your size is incredible, @InfoSecInTheCity. Well done.

I've finally decided on my ultimate goal (it has only taken me 17 months to decide!). 12 stone 11lb would represent a nice round ten stone loss, would put me at a BMI of 24.5, and is five pounds away. I would like to get there by the end of October. I've been very surprised at how much suppression I'm still getting despite having titrated down to 5mg. I think I'll stay here for one more pen and then go down again to 2.5mg. Once I hit my goal weight my ongoing objective will be to get my body fat percentage into the twenties - it's currently 32%.

NSV - I'm in a pair of size 12 jeans this morning. I still get that dysmorphic moment of holding them up, thinking how small they look and that they will never fit. My brain is taking a while to catch up.

ReluctantCustomer · 26/09/2025 09:41

After hovering around a stone weight point (14), I have at last reached 13.13, so have lost 3.5 stone in 28 weeks.
