@Polkadotdash oh,Yorkshire is going to be a sunny paradise I'm sure! 😬 just the rest of us who will get wet....

Ive got a bit of a dilemma. I'm supposed to have an interview tomorrow. I'm a bit fed up with where I work, lots of redundancies this year and a pay cut and although my job is safe, the atmosphere is not great. Applied for a very similar job but it's less money and further away. It'd be daft for me to take it really, so then I'm thinking I should cancel the interview so I don't waste everybody's time. Arrrgh! Can't decide

PenelopePoweringOn · 26/08/2025 07:02

Morning everyone. Where are you going @Polkadotdash ? There’s a big wildfire on the NY Moors which is getting lots of press coverage locally but doesn’t seem to be getting national attention. I hope you don’t say you’re coming to the moors.

@MJalltheway if your heart isn’t in it I’d cancel, unless you think you’d be happier there.

Food last night was lovely, I couldn’t eat much even though I only served myself a small portion. I would have ☠️ for the fig and mozzarella salad a year ago, couldn’t eat my measly portion. I’ve actually been awake feeling really full since about 2am.

Have a great Tuesday everyone.

mince3point14159265 · 26/08/2025 08:39

@MJalltheway could you just regard the interview as practice in case of anything. That way you’ll be more relaxed in the interview and you never know, maybe they might offer you more if they really want you!

mince3point14159265 · 26/08/2025 08:42

Not my usual Saturday weigh in but just wanted to say the scales showed 10.13.0 this morning, so that’s exactly 5 stone lost. Can’t really believe it! 🤪

Zempy · 26/08/2025 08:48

Congratulations @mince3point14159265. That’s such an achievement!!!

BreezyPeer · 26/08/2025 08:59

@mince3point14159265 what an achievement! That's amazing 👏 xx

2025istheyeari · 26/08/2025 09:16

Morning losers! Happy 4 day week ( for many of us!)

@HeidiLite omg I love Comte, that sounds amazing, it wouldn’t last long in my fridge atm!! Enjoy.

@mince3point14159265 🎉🎉🎉that’s phenomenal, well done!!!!

@DGonMJ what a perfect day and evening, sounds like you’re having an amazing time! Love the 💃🏻🕺. Enjoy the sea safari!

@Thelittlestranger the courgette salad is super easy, spiralised courgettes, lemon zest, lemon juice, olive oil, chopped chilli and chopped mint, it’s so nice. I have a similar recipe to @PenelopePoweringOn for fig, Parma ham and mozzarella salad, dressed with olive oil, honey, lemon and lots of black pepper dressing and chopped basil, it’s sooo good, one of my absolute favourites!! Like others I’m trying to eat the same as usual. Just less of it! One of our other stalwarts is Thai chicken with chilli and basil which we’re having tonight with stir fried tenderstem, and green beans! I struggle for inspiration too so any ideas v welcome!!

@MJalltheway sounds like a lovely day, I’m also increasing calories for the same reason. Have you prepped for the interview already? I guess it depends how you feel, the culture may be amazing and if they really want you they may be able to offer more/ you negotiate less hours or something. I think it really depends on your why. Good luck with whatever you choose, being unhappy at work sucks…

@Polkadotdash have a lovely break and 🤞🏻for the weather.

I’m definitely at a plateau and a bit miffed! Been yo-yoing for nearly 3 weeks, so I did my measurements for the first time in months this morning and omg!!!

1/1
16 stone 3 1/2
Waist 102 cm
Chest 119
Thigh 64
Upper arm 37

26/8
10 stone 13. Lost 5 stone 41/2 pounds
Waist 79. Lost 23cm
Chest 86 Lost 33cm
Thigh 51 lost 13cm
Arm 29.5 lost 7.5cm

I’m amazed and it’s made me really happy!! So, anyone stuck, do your measurements!!! I’d love to lose 6 more pounds but it really isn’t the end of the world if I don’t, my BMI is 23.3 so it’s really to give me a few extra pounds to play with and a psychological ( vanity!) boost to say I’m 10 1/2 stone!

I swam and did 25 mins in the gym yesterday and have been swimming this morning. Definitely upping the exercise so hopefully toning up will also make me feel better.

We’ve got this you lovely losers. Have a good day.

mince3point14159265 · 26/08/2025 09:34

Thanks everyone! I know it’s silly but I feel quite overcome with emotion about it. 🥲 I haven’t weighed 10 something since I got pregnant with DC2 about a millennia ago. Still have way/weigh to go to get to a healthy bmi but quite happy to go slowly and try to lose the Bagpuss look. 😬

Wow @2025istheyeari those stats are amazing! You’ve done brilliantly! 🤩🏅🤩

HeidiLite · 26/08/2025 10:04

@MJalltheway I would probably go anyway, as said you may be able to negotiate something better. Or it could be clear this is not a position for you, then no regrets.

@mince3point14159265 that's amazing, what an achievement!

Taverna Salad - My Lilikoi Kitchen

This vibrant salad is all about beautiful colors and textures that make it unique and so delicious. Crisp cucumbers, juicy tomatoes, hearty chickpeas, briny olives, crunchy pita croutons and halloumi cheese all have their place in making this one tasty...

Jins · 26/08/2025 10:13

Some amazing results and stats. I’m blown away by how well we’ve all done and how determined we’ve all been. Round of applause all round.

We pitched up at Bakewell camping club site. Beautiful site, horrendous approach journey. If I’d have been towing I would have been in tears. DH did well. Planning an easy day today, walk to the nearby village and pub meal. Absolutely exhausted for some reason.

Here till Saturday and undecided whether to jab on day 5, 6 or 7. All bets are off regarding prescribing instructions nowadays. The last 5mg jab stretched to 7 days without too much trouble so hopefully I can sit on that regime for a while.

Enjoy your day everyone

CurlsandCurves · 26/08/2025 11:39

Ooh @Jins you’re near me! Have a lovely time.

well, it’s official, I’m no longer obese, just overweight! I mean obese is a bmi of 30 and I’m 29.8, but it still counts right?

CurlsandCurves · 26/08/2025 11:39

of course it counts! Congratulations!

Jins · 26/08/2025 11:47

You live in a lovely area @CurlsandCurves

My predictions have come true and DH is planning walking footpaths on a long route to the village. Accordingly I deliberately failed to pack suitable shoes.

BreezyPeer · 26/08/2025 16:14

Does anyone have any suggestions for a dress for an evening party? I like a long dress, I am relatively tall, 5ft 9 and confidently a uk size 12. I have been looking on vinted but I am lost! I have time to go to a physical shop ( or more than one!) If anyone can think of brands that might be good? Or specific dresses? 👗 🥻
I had my colours done recently and I am a sultry, jewelled winter! Xx

How exciting! Some of it will depend on budget, but have you looked at me & em? Some good Vinted deals on their dresses sometimes and they are gorgeous!
Otherwise how about Reiss?
Alternatively do you have a department store anywhere nearby so you could go and try a few brands on?
I had a Quick Look at John Lewis and searched for long dresses, chose your colours, some really nice ones including Reiss, and a couple of other brands I’d not heard of, maybe worth a go?
Can you give us an idea of what you’re looking for- really formal, strapless, sleeves, slinky?!

2025istheyeari · 26/08/2025 16:29

Just had the following from Oushk who are putting their prices up from 5pm today! For those of us on maintenance they’re offering a flat £20 per order discount.

As part of our continued efforts to be transparent and supportive, we want to inform you that new prices for Mounjaro will go live at 5pm on Tuesday, 26th August.

We understand that price increases are never easy, and this change — which comes directly from the manufacturer — has been difficult for all of us. But we remain fully committed to ensuring your long-term treatment and weight management remain safe, supported, and personalised.
Why are the prices going up before 1st of Sept?
The new stock allocation for Mounjaro will officially begin from 1st September, meaning all pharmacies must order under the new pricing from that date. However, suppliers are releasing stock for pharmacies to order from 27th August at the updated prices — and that’s the only stock we’ll have access to.

To make sure we can secure medication promptly and avoid any disruption to September deliveries, we’ve made the decision to introduce the new pricing slightly earlier — from 5pm on Tuesday 26th August. This gives us time to place orders immediately and ensure your treatment arrives on schedule.

We understand this change may feel sudden, but we’ve planned this carefully to minimise disruption and continue supporting you as smoothly as possible into the new month.
What will be the new prices for Mounjaro and Wegovy?

We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to ensure we can offer the fairest prices possible, while maintaining the high level of service and care we’re committed to. To launch the new pricing, we’re offering £15 off all orders as a thank you for your continued trust and understanding. Please use the code “NEW15” to receive the discount on all orders above £100.

We’ll be reviewing our prices regularly to make sure we’re always offering the best value we can. For those considering a switch, we’ve also reduced the price of Wegovy to make it a more affordable alternative moving forward.
Why is maintenance price different?

With the new Mounjaro pricing, there is now a much bigger difference between lower and higher doses. Because of this, percentage discounts are no longer fair across the board.

We’re moving to a flat £20 discount per order for all patients on maintenance. This helps us keep things simple, affordable, and consistent — especially for those who may need long-term or lifelong treatment.

The structure of our Conti, Taper, and Flexi plans will stay the same, giving you flexibility and continued access to clinical support.

Please note: Free delivery is no longer included on maintenance plans and therefore patients can select DPD or Royal Mail options at the checkout.

Ooh, or Rixo do some nice dresses too! (I’m loving going down this rabbit hole instead of doing what I should be doing- updating my Linked in profile 🤣)

I just had a look at that email too @2025istheyeari do you think the £20 maintenance discount is a typo as they’ve listed them as only £5 cheaper? Or do we get it at £5 cheaper PLUS the £20 discount?

I’m not sure, it’s a bit confusing isn’t it? And no free postage any more either….

DGonMJ · 26/08/2025 17:14

Just seen the Pharmulous prices on their website. Cheaper than Oushk and I think it’s free delivery. Has anyone ordered from them? I’m going to wait and see if Oushk deliver everything I’ve already paid for and then hopefully by November I can switch to Pharmulous.

Ooh we visited Bakewell at Easter, it is indeed gorgeous around there. Had the most disappointing Bakewell tart EVER though.

I decided to pull out of the interview tomorrow, even the very top of the salary band is quite a way below my current salary and it's a LA job so they won't have the flexibility to offer more. I'm feeling very discombobulated at the moment. Lots of things contributing, and I think that's what prompted the job application. I will keep looking for something more suitable.

Congratulations on no longer being obese @CurlsandCurves ! Onwards and downwards!
And @mince3point14159265 on losing an incredible 5 stone! 🙌

Zempy · 26/08/2025 17:50

I attended an in person meeting today with a client I haven’t worked with for about three years. She actually didn’t recognise me (met face to face monthly when I had her as a client previously) and asked me “are you Sarah?” which is the name of other colleague she doesn’t know.

I stuttered out, “it’s me, Zempy!” and you could see the recognition dawn on her. It was so funny. I just said it’s OK, I lost over four stone, don’t worry about it. She was so embarrassed but I was pretty delighted.

I guess that’s why my bloody phone doesn’t recognise me half the time!!! 😂

myladyjane · 26/08/2025 18:17

Ohhhhhh I love Rixo @2025istheyeari! @BreezyPeer look at that. A client of mine wears a lot of Rixo and farm Rio and always looks amazing.

so my pen update is that after spending an hour on hold with no answer with iq dr I decided to try juniper. 2 hours after that, no acknowledgment from juniper (although they took my money), but lo and behold a confirmation email from iq dr that my 2 10mg pens had been dispatched! So potentially I have 3 10mg pens on the way at pre price rise prices. Which I sort of don’t want as I don’t like stockpiling but I guess if I get all 3 I have options and depending how loss goes, hopefully will see me into my zen maintenance phase and I can start coming back down.

Again, until they are in my grubby little mits I am not going to do anything (luckily I had enough spare savings to cover the cost but desperate for payday now). But it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster today.
