Morning losers! Check in with SheMed today, it's becoming a bit of a pain but 34 down, 18 to go. I know all the time I'm with them my price is low. I keep wondering if the best thing for me will be to come off mj but then I don't want to put on weight (plus thyroid and ADHD improvements) so I suspect I will stay but I'm looking forward not to have to call someone every week. My BMI is about 21.6/22 (I'm so small half a pound makes a difference to where my BMI lands, it's 21.7 this morning) so I will not have my pick of pharmacies. I'm also waiting on an ADHD appointment and hoping to be out on Elvanse which should stop me binge eating which may mean I don't need mj?! We shall see, part of me would want to be off mj so I can see how it works and part of me doesn't want to come off mj in case I can't go back on so either way I want to get onto a maintenance pharmacy.
I jabbed 2.5 today, down from 3.33 last week. It might be too far. When I saw the graph I did wonder if I should have gone for 35 clicks rather than 30 but we shall see. If I want to stay on this long term I need to get the balance right of being able to eat, but not too much and still get the thyroid benefits. I don't think I have the ADHD benefits on this low amount, I had more clarity, less anxiety and fidget in 5mg but that would be too much to allow me to eat well.

My jeans (Topshop Orson) that were always too small / had a muffin top are now way too big, it's crazy. I look in the mirror and I just see a smaller version of the same me, large thighs, rolls of fat etc. it's very strange. I know I'm small because my jeans are size 26 and hanging off me but like I couldn't really see that I'd got large I can't really see that I've got small. The clothes talk has prompted me to go and look for some smaller jeans, Topshop Orson have 24 and 25 but so far just 32 leg (30 definitely needed!!)

And LeC love them, don't get rid of them. I wish my mum had saved me some (she didn't have any but you know what I mean). Although I'm 45 imminently so not sure I count 🤣

I'm loving reading about everyone's posts! Have a great bank holiday.

Morning all. It’s the last day of the show today but we’re packing up and moving on around lunchtime. Sorry not to respond to everyone personally but I’m scrolling on my phone with limited signal.

I’m back to having reasonable suppression on 5mg after 7 days which is good but no idea of how weight is going until I get home. I’m not expecting any surprises and as I’m finally in maintenance I’m focusing more on final refinements and toning. I’ve picked up a cross trainer on our local free site for collection when I get home. Both DH and I will give it a try as we’re both keen to maintain strength and mobility at our age.

I’m not getting het up about changed pens until it happens. Most pre-filled pens have to be overfilled for priming but they aren’t supposed to declare how much overfill there is. I’m going to be microdosing from higher dose pens from now on and I’ve got a lot of micro doses in my fridge

Morning my little song thrushes

I am just popping up n to say hello today. After yesterday’s massacre of the wardrobe I really need to go to the shops to get work trousers. They are so very bad. But I don’t want to. But I have to.

have a smashing day all

PenelopePoweringOn · 25/08/2025 10:33

@myladyjane what a lovely greeting! Happy trouser shopping!

I’ve just renewed my travel insurance. Now that DC2 is 19 I was unable to buy a ‘family’ policy. Had to insure my two kids as ‘friends’. I know they are young adults, but they are my kids! I did declare ‘obesity’ although I’m now officially overweight (fine line).

I’ve been down a rightmove rabbit hole and saved a list of houses I’d either like ✅ or … have to consider, depending on whether I pull off a part time consulting gig in the next few weeks, I’ve got ‘interviews’ lined up for two.

HeidiLite · 25/08/2025 10:36

@tinyemmy I know exactly what you mean with the weight/size blindness. Was trying on a pair of trousers yesterday and my first thought was 'ugh I look so fat'. The trousers were size XS and fitted just fine, I am absolutely not fat. But can't get my brain to compute.

cloudjumper · 25/08/2025 11:16

@myladyjaneHave a look at French Connection. I’ve recently re-discovered them, and they are my new favourite brand. V good quality for reasonable prices, and they always have some kind of sale going on 😀

Zempy · 25/08/2025 11:41

Quite a few freds ago, we were talking about size inflation, and I mentioned a beautiful wool kilt I had bought off Vinted, size 12. Trouble was, it was a 1980s size 12 and 24 inch waist, so there was no hope of it fitting me.

I think you can all guess where this is going….it fits!!!! I can wear it this autumn with a black polo neck and channel my inner Claudia!!!

So happy 😍

myladyjane · 25/08/2025 12:11

Oh @Zempy that sounds lovely! I shall add you to my list of girl crushes

@cloudjumperi always forget them. I will take a look

@PenelopePoweringOn I am in awe of you - you move from decision to action so decisively. It’s amazing mate.

tragically trouser shopping is going as badly as I feared. 7 pairs in M&S. all 16, all too big around the waist, good on the thighs but clingy round the apron tummy. Size up would be way too big. Length is all over the shop - I picked up regulars that were fine, short too long. I needed to try M&S first as have a chunky voucher to use. I can’t even find joggers in there or jumpers that aren’t shitey acrylic or crew neck. Sulk sulk sulk. I also forgot to eat again so am sulking in itsu glowering at small children pushing my gyoza around.

PenelopePoweringOn · 25/08/2025 12:43

What shape are you @myladyjane ? I’ve bought these in a couple of different colours for work on my downward journey. They sell them online at M&S.

Thank you, having set things in motion I’m just pushing on. I’ve been working in a really awful environment for far too long. I decided that I need to be true to myself and not be stressed and unhappy.

Miribel Navy Cropped Ponte Jersey Trousers

Cropped in length, we love this navy wide-leg style on our Miribel trousers. Worn high on the waist, they make for a flattering fit you can style easily.

Polkadotdash · 25/08/2025 14:31

Checking in. Weight is stuck at 12st 5lbs. I’m thinking this is because I’m still not very active after my surgery. Have become obsessed with my disgusting neck and chin flab/sag too. Grrr

discov · 25/08/2025 15:30

@Zempy that is brilliant, I bet it looks fab!

discov · 25/08/2025 15:36

Just had a quick skim through the new thread whilst I’m having a break from bank holiday cleaning.

I weighed in my lowest ever yesterday at 8st 10, but I think it’s because I’d been at Leeds Fest for the day with dd on Saturday and was very dehydrated!! My goal is 8st 7 but I’m not hugely fussed on hitting it really. I think as long as I’m under 9st I am fine.

I am wearing a pair of shorts for the first time since I was a pre-teen today! I walked the dog this morning and stopped for a coffee with my bare legs out and no one died or pointed and laughed. It is very liberating after covering up for the past 25 years.

I did my final 10mg dose this week and will move down to 7.5 next. Does anyone know what the ‘official’ advice is for titrating back down? I have a 5 and 2.5 arriving this week, all being well, but don’t know if I’m going down too quickly. Honestly I am terrified at the thought of maintenance now and gaining the weight back 😕

myladyjane · 25/08/2025 15:39

I’m too stumpy for those @PenelopePoweringOn I’m afraid. I managed to get a pair of v cheap tweedy brown ones in H&M - they are v thick so skim better than you would expect for the price. I also tried some cords in next where a blue pair was so big in a 16 that I could have invited a friend and a brown pair fitted fine. But I preferred the blue ones which were too long anyway so I just ordered them plus some joggers and jumpers online.

i did also get 2 new bras. At last. Down to an f now which feels quite small for me. I got a sensible black one and a bright pink one to cheer myself up.

HeidiLite · 25/08/2025 16:15

@Zempy we need to see the outfit now!
I had several of those 'maybe one day I can fit into them but probably will never happen' outfits and isn't it amazing when they actually fit! (I don't like them any more, but that's another issue 😀)

BreezyPeer · 25/08/2025 16:28

@myladyjane I really need to get some new bras! I'm sure I have said this loads of times on this thread. I have a dress up party to go to in September so I'll definitely need one (at least) and a new figure hugging dress 👗 😅
Lots of people at the party won't have seen me for months so hopefully be a surprise! Xx

PenelopePoweringOn · 25/08/2025 17:01

Bras are on my list too @BreezyPeer, I’m trying to hang on for a month or so.

I bought a size 14 Autograph blazer today BNWT eBay. Made an offer and it was accepted. Work or weekend!

Glad you got something you like @myladyjane . I thought about buying those trousers again in a 14 earlier as the 16s are much too big now. But then I thought I should just take the waistline off and whizz through the seams with my overlocker. Also, I won’t need a full work wardrobe soon will I 🤯.

@Zempy fabulous 🏆.

@Polkadotdash I’m sure you are right, once you get going again normal service will be resumed.

@discov I laughed at no one died or pointed. I’ve had shorts on in the garden. The wildlife is still breathing.

BBQ here tonight, I’ve marinated some chicken, made a pea, potato and mint salad, figs and mozzarella with honey and balsamic and torn ciabatta, leafy salad. Wagyu burgers too for DC. I’m a bit hungry actually for a change. I wonder if my appetite will disappear when it’s time to eat. Doesn’t sound very diet does it.

Thelittlestranger · 25/08/2025 17:18

@Zempy amazing!

@discov from my maintenance chat with Hira, with a goal of coming off it completely, it was to come down a pen at a time per month. I dropped to 5mg this month and lengthened out between the jabs (was already doing that on the 7.5mg TBH) and I've got another 5mg to start in 2 jabs time which I will go immediately down to 2.5mg and see how I feel. If all ok, that will be my last one. I'm ready to do this on my own now I think (famous last words!)

@PenelopePoweringOn that sounds absolutely delicious. I've consciously tried to eat healthier but not cut anything out - I just stop when I'm full. It's helped me, as I don't feel like there is an on or off diet mode. I'm just trying to eat consciously.

We will probably have bitzas for tea tonight - back from our weekend away and intend to keep the holiday feel going as long as I can. ie - no cooking.

2025istheyeari · 25/08/2025 18:54

Hi all

Hope you had a great celebratory lunch @BreezyPeer. Ooh night out next month sounds amazing too!

loving all the shopping stories!! @CurlsandCurves how amazing, and that makes perfect sense, what a fabulous feeling!!

@discov , 🤣 on the shorts!!! Well done on your weight too!! In my
maintenance chat they suggested titrating down by reducing the dose each month or two. I‘M sticking to 10 to try to shift these last ) pounds ( I’m really hungry atm!!), then will do 2x7.5, 2x 5 and see how I go, well that’s the plan at the moment!

@zempy brilliant, well done! There is a kilt In contemplating in Tu. black, long, ala Claudia too, but not sure!!

@myladyjane glad you found something, impressed at the organisation that’s gone into this too!!

@tinyemmy lovely to hear from you. So hard to know what to do isn’t it, especially if you have other conditions it’s potentially helping. I hope the ADHD appt goes well.

@PenelopePoweringOn yay for the bargain blazer! Your bbq sounds amazing! We’re bbqing too, Korean chicken, courgettes with lemon, chilli and mint, corn on the cob and salad, bit of a mixture but can’t wait!

@Polkadotdash hope you can move around soon, well done for sts after such a big op!

@Thelittlestranger welcome home, and you should definitely keep the holiday vibes going for as long as possible!!!

@HeidiLite how was the cheese and wine festival? I had such a cheese craving after reading that yesterday!!!

enjoy your evenings all!

Thank you @Thelittlestranger@2025istheyeari, that’s very helpful. I only had my maintenance call a few weeks ago but obviously before the whole price rise thing happened and I had planned to just continue as I was. It’s good to know others are going to titrate down too. I should be good to try doing one a month then and see how I get on…

HeidiLite · 25/08/2025 19:14

@2025istheyeari I'm such a lightweight now! Last year I spent several hours tasting all kinds of wines and champagnes. This year I had a few sips and that's it, could totally feel it. Got a few cases of Cremant, will drink it eventually, but certainly not the same amount of wine shopping we did in previous years (DH has cut down his drinking as well, even though he doesn't need to lose weight).

But I do have some nice 36 month old Comte cheese in the fridge.

DGonMJ · 25/08/2025 19:21

Well done on the shorts @discov. I too bought my first pair in 20 years and have been wearing them, often with my t-shirt…tucked IN.

@BreezyPeer good luck with the dress search. I mentioned in the other thread that I’ve managed to save some of my dresses that are now too big for me by wearing them with a belt…in case that’s an option for you.

@tinyemmy I made a list of pharmacies on monj that do maintenance and accept new customers with a BMI of 21 (mine hovers between 21.4 and 22 depending on time of the month and whether the calculator accepts decimal points): Swift, Lotus, Medicspot, Pharmacy Express, Pharmulous. I thought Medicine Marketplace did, but reading on here/reddit that they did a TT live and mentioned something about not accepting anyone under 30BMI who’s had a 2 week break, so not sure how flexible they are with maintenance after all.

Fab day yesterday enjoying the local regatta. Ate the fattest, most butteriest scallops. Walked up the hill to try and peek at the pretty white houses on the mini peninsula we can see from our balcony. Then home for 50 laps in the pool and another soak in the hot tub. We could hear the live band in the regatta playing some nostalgic choons, massive FOMO triggered - so we went back and I danced to the last 5 songs.

Another glorious day today. Got up early-ish and went for a morning walk along a stretch of coast a 10min drive from here and saw wild ponies and a peregrine falcon 🥰
Came back to our local beach and had a coffee watching the waves until it was time to go for a late pub lunch, which was lovely (I couldn’t finish my fondant potato so the 2.83mg seems to be working).
Back on our balcony and thinking about a swim…tomorrow we have a sea safari tour booked.

All your dinner plans sound delicious! I would inhale that fig, honey and mozzarella salad @PenelopePoweringOn

Thelittlestranger · 25/08/2025 21:19

I would also inhale the courgettes with lemon and mint. I need some inspiration for sure. Love vegetables, but struggle thinking of ways to cook them. Feel free to post your dinners here, I, for one, would appreciate it!!

Today has been terrible for nutrition but a few wins. Chips and a slice of focaccia for lunch. I'd ordered mussels, and they were dry as a bone so I left them (win versus old me who would have eaten them anyway) Got home and I'm eaking out the holiday vibes with 2 X proseccos and some chilli nuts (put them away after a load and cut some cucumber instead - new me) and that's it. I think I have some crumpets to go to bed with on my horizon - and then back to protein, and veg tomorrow 😋

And, just 4 days till the weekend!!

MJalltheway · 25/08/2025 21:35

Hi all, hope everyone has enjoyed the lovely bank holiday before the rain starts tomorrow!
We've had a lovely day doing things with the kids, I'm feeling a lot better after my wobble on Saturday.

I've deliberately eaten more than normal (and more carbs) this weekend because I was starting to get a bit light headed last week and wasn't having enough calories. So I reckon I've bumped up to 1500/1600 generally and today just been out for a delicious pizza. Thoroughly enjoyed it, but ready to ditch the carbs again tomorrow!

Polkadotdash · 25/08/2025 23:24

@MJalltheway please don’t wish the rain on us yet! We are going away for a couple of days to Yorkshire and I want to stay dry!!!
