@BreezyPeer Morning! What a lovely post. I also ADORE a declutter! I did it about a month ago, skip and everything as we did the garden and garage too.

@PenelopePoweringOn you really are! Good luck with the viewings

@Thelittlestranger sounds lovely.

i am in a grump. My Thursday dose was still too much even though I reduced it - up at 3 with a bad tummy and slept really badly. I also think I have dds cold. It feels a bit Hobson choice - bad symptoms seems to equate to good losses for me. On the plus side I have a quiet weekend and I’m gonna start a bit of yoga again I think so I’ll perk up. I foresee napping in my future.

have a lovely weekend - excellent losers one and all

PenelopePoweringOn · 23/08/2025 11:09

Sorry you're feeling a bit rubbish @myladyjane , I hope it subsides.

Your break sounds gorgeous @Thelittlestranger , including gin and crisps 😍.

@Zempy that's sort of what I did too - sellotape and then I had to try to show it on my camera but ultimately the guy asked me what the height reading was! It was a pretty pointless exercise.

Yes, I am powering on. All driven by wanting to semi-retire, I literally did 😅yesterday. I'm not sure two bin bags mean much in the grand scheme of things but it is a start.

HeidiLite · 23/08/2025 11:26

morning losers!
@hunkydory54 France can be totally diet friendly, at least the food is likely to be fresh and UPF. I didn't gain any weight during my holidays, even though I ate all the cheese, just smaller portions. Where are you going?
There's a big wine and food fair in neighbouring village this weekend, so i see some more cheese eating in my near future.

Decluttering is so satisfying! Did my laundry room recently and now really should help DD with her room. DS is super tidy but DD has way too much stuff. Took me a while though to get out of the 'let's keep everything just in case, but it's in good nick, might need it one day' mindset - I grew up in the Soviet Union and my grandparents would not throw away anything!

hunkydory54 · 23/08/2025 13:43

@HeidiLite thanks for the reassurance about holidaying in France. You’re right it will be mostly fresh and diet friendly. I’ll watch my portion sizes too. We’re going on a driving holiday starting in Guernsey, followed by Brittany and the Loire Valley. I’m looking forward to getting away for a couple of weeks.

Decluttering is something I’m learning slowly

mince3point14159265 · 23/08/2025 15:02

Epic post @BreezyPeer ! Love it! 🥰

I'm in a similar position this week @2025istheyeari ; just 0.2lb loss this week (probably hair! 👩‍🦲🙄). At least it's not a gain and you're so close to goal which is mega exciting! 🙌

Loving the dynamism @PenelopePoweringOn ! Hope all goes well with the sale 🤞

@Thelittlestranger sounds idyllic, well maybe not the hangover!

Hope you're feeling better @myladyjane 💐 I woke up with a bad headache but did some yoga and it went without needing to resort to painkillers. 😅

Your French trip sounds heavenly @hunkydory54 , enjoy!

Also heading to France next week; DH is <insert annoying hobby> from the Alps to Nice and I'm driving to meet him there and then we'll stay in some lovely places as we wind our way back home. Can't wait! 😁

Love to all the Losers wherever you may be and hope you all have a great bank holiday weekend xx

hunkydory54 · 23/08/2025 16:57

@mince3point14159265 enjoy your French trip too, it sounds good too

PenelopePoweringOn · 23/08/2025 16:59

Hope @myladyjane is feeling better.

Another lovely trip planned @mince3point14159265 .

I’ve had my fill of declutterring for today. I don’t get involved with anything other than tidying up. Can’t imagine paying anyone else the best part of £6k and doing their job for them so have drawn a firm line in the sand on that - I’ll just await feedback and keep declutterring! Feeling less panicked today.

I’ve now got really bad stomachache 😩 I suspect 🙏 all the movicol I’ve taken might actually be starting to work.

myladyjane · 23/08/2025 19:18

I have had a sick day including a three hour nap. Not gonna lie, it’s been quite nice

Jins · 23/08/2025 19:26

Evening all. Lovely day looking at things I have no interest in but in beautiful surroundings. Just remembered to jab - thought I’d got two left in this pen but it looks like more. All good for the bank balance.

I’ve booked tickets for the castle and gardens tomorrow. There’s a limit on how much steam engine related excitement I can take and the stall holders haven’t encouraged me to spend money with them as they are all banging on about boats and immigrants any chance they get. So my purchases have been restricted to some mango cider and a jar of chutney which is poor form for me.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend, especially those feeling under the weather. We’re here till Monday then meandering home via the Peak District which will be nice. Lovely part of the world. Likely to be back on 30th, unless plans change

Jins · 23/08/2025 19:28

Forgot to add a photo - could there be a nicer view from the show?

January Starters - Thread 11!
HeidiLite · 23/08/2025 19:54

looks lovely, @Jins !

2025istheyeari · 23/08/2025 20:17

@BreezyPeer what a lovely post, thank you🥰. Have a fab time with your parents and sounds like you’ve had a super productive week!

@PenelopePoweringOn wow you are going for it! Hope the viewings went well, if you’re still worried and feel not ready you can always take the house off. Also hope your stomach gets better.

@Thelittlestranger break sounds fab, have a wonderful time! Well done on the carrots!!

@myladyjane oh no, really hope you feel better soon, rest up.

@mince3point14159265 and @hunkydory54 both your French trips sound fab, enjoy! Agree with @HeidiLite you can eat healthily and it’s all fresh, the fruit and veg will be fantastic and enjoy the cheese, you’re on holiday! @mince3point14159265 🫣on the hair and small loss, solidarity.

@HeidiLite enjoy the cheese!

Had a lovely day at the coast and had a cinnamon roll and small portion of fish and chips, really enjoyed both. I’ve counted calories and obviously over normal and not a healthy day but I felt like I needed carbs!!

I think I’ve failed spectacularly on the bonus dose. I managed to extract the liquid in the syringe, but not sure I injected any, loads of liquid on my leg, don’t know that I felt the jab and when l took it ‘out’ it was bent😳, maybe the bonus dose isn’t for me.

DGonMJ · 23/08/2025 20:38

Hope everyone in the UK is having a lovely bank holiday weekend so far. We’ve been to the beach, I finished my second book of the holiday. Undoing the retinol by getting a tan. Had a pasty. Then walked around the harbour, shared an ice-cream, bought some bits for dinner. Had another swim in the pool. Then a bit of hot tub. Hard day’s relaxing.

Lovely view @Jins

@PenelopePoweringOn excellent work on the house decision

Enjoy the delicious French food those of you off to France!

HeidiLite · 23/08/2025 20:40

I was just outside and evenings are definitely getting colder. Autumn is coming.

And it just hit me that..I have no winter clothes that fit!

BlueLimes · 24/08/2025 01:23

Hello all, mid way through holiday - hard to keep up with you chatty bunch.
I’m delaying my next jab, felt so washed out at the start of the holiday, definitely been eating less, but having 1 or 2 cocktails per day 😳
will take 10mg 4 days late rather than 15. Figure I’ve autumn to make up for the drinks.

any info on new prices?

Let’s keep going 😊

PenelopePoweringOn · 24/08/2025 07:22

Morning @BlueLimes . Hope you’re having a lovely time and a nice rest.

I was thinking about the freedom we have to adjust our doses depending on how we feel. Great isn’t it.

I don’t think I’m injecting today, I’ve got stomach ache and felt crap at times yesterday, I’ll see how I feel later.

Nil loss this week, I’m not surprised.

I might start the exciting job of declutterring my kitchen today. My kitchen is huge, anything I move to will have half the number of cupboards. My cupboard are rammed 🤣. This could be a big job.

MJalltheway · 24/08/2025 07:29

Oh losers, not a good start to the day. Woke up from a dream where we were on holiday (weirdly I think in one of Madonna's houses?!) and I realised that the staff and I saw my DS as a boy he was about 8 or 9 instead of as the hulking great teenager he is now. Triggered I think by the fact I've been trawling old photos to make him an album for his 18th. Jeez the GRIEF I felt when I woke up this morning. 😭 I haven't felt hugely 'empty nest' before, but this summer has been so different. My youngest is nearly 15 and so I've barely seen them all all summer. And of course I KNOW that's great, and they're growing up to be smart, happy adults which is the whole point. But just absolutely walloped with it this morning, I miss those child days so much!
not at all weight- loss related, but I know you guys will understand ☹️

2025istheyeari · 24/08/2025 07:46

Morning losers!

i don’t know how I manage but when I post I always miss some previous posts, sorry, not intentionally missing people 🫣.
Jins, that looks incredible, enjoy visiting the castle today.
@MJalltheway aaw, I know exactly what you mean, it’s the realisation of them growing up and becoming independent isn’t it. On one hand it’s fab because you know you’ve given them the support and love to enable them to get there, on the other it’s heartbreaking because, well because you love them so much and want to be a massive part of their lives, and you will be. Sending hugs.

@PenelopePoweringOn , good luck, I’d in awe of your determination, I start decluttering and sorting and get v easily distracted!! Hope your stomach is better soon.

@DGonMJ sounds like a pretty perfect day! Hope it’s another today.

@BlueLimes aah hi, sounds like you’re having a great time. Cocktails def count as one of your give a day at least, enjoy! Various pharmacies have sent out emails, here’s one from med express as an example ( sorry for formatting, the first price is current, second is future)

@HeidiLite I’m same, I bought a couple of lovely pairs of barrel legs from Uniqlo in Japan but other than those and a pair of jeans which are slightly big but which will do I have no autumn clothes!!

I’m off on a long walk, followed by sauna and ice bath and lunch today, have a fab Sunday all.

PenelopePoweringOn · 24/08/2025 08:30

@MJalltheway , sorry 😔, it’s a gradual realisation isn’t it, still gives you the odd 🥊 now and then. My two are a bit older, I was thinking yesterday that when DC2 passes their driving test I’ll hardly see them too - mind you I’ll be free from ferrying them around as well. DC1 took a while to get off the ground 🤣, stayed at home when he first went to uni etc., but that’s all changed. Your DS will always come back @MJalltheway , mine usually turns up with a handful of uni friends needing a square meal.

@2025istheyeari enjoy your day, it sounds blissful.

I’ve just looked at monj.co.uk - it’s carnage 😱, out of stock virtually everywhere apart from starting doses.

myladyjane · 24/08/2025 08:32

@BlueLimes enjoy those cocktails

@PenelopePoweringOn you need my dh round. He’d bin the lot, even the stuff you actively want. I hope the tummy clears soon.

@MJalltheway I totally get this. My two are between yours age wise (twins) and are growing and blossoming and my relationship with them is changing. I am so proud of them but at the same time I miss the children they were. Then they piss me off and I begin the countdown to uni again.

@2025istheyeari a long walk sounds lovely.

@DGonMJ@HeidiLite me too. Tomorrow I am planning a wardrobe sort out to get rid of summer too big stuff. My issue is I still have about a stone and a half to go so I don’t want to go mad but conversely my work trousers are so big they look scruffy. Plus I need new bras. Vinted can be very hit and miss for me as I am a tricky shape so I may use up an M&S voucher and a bit from H&M just to get me able to leave the house.

have a smashing day losers.

HeidiLite · 24/08/2025 08:48

morning losers,

@MJalltheway totally get it, mine are a bit younger but yes getting independent. DS especially, he's as tall as me but still a little boy, all cuddly and affectionate. Not looking forward to him waking up a sulky teenager one fine morning.

Going to the food fair soon - it's normally used for extensive wine tasting, but can't really see this happening to the same extent this year. We didn't even manage to drink what we bought there last year.
And it has taken some time but I think I've managed to kill the habit of 'having a glass of something'. First I bought a lot of non-alcoholic drinks, as I was used to having a drink and tried to replace the alcoholic ones with non-alcoholic. But I have found I don't really need it any more. Now if I can only tackle late night snacking..

HeidiLite · 24/08/2025 08:50

@myladyjane yes definitely don't go all out if you have still weight to lose - especially those last pounds will make a massive difference. I've complained about it before, bought too much when I was almost at goal and now those clothes are all too big.

myladyjane · 24/08/2025 09:07

@HeidiLite yes - I do think of your warnings re this. I am going to shop my wardrobe a bit tomorrow I think. Work out what I definitely need (work trousers and possibly a dress, a couple of jumpers and shirts, some casual trousers which are a bit thicker) then leave it there. I do need some pj/loungewear but I also have a birthday mid autumn so dh can manage that with the girls.

dd and I went onto a colour analysis wormhole yesterday. We have decided to move away from seasonal analysis and look at tonal - we think I’m a light and clear now. Dd was a light and soft. Dh a warm and deep (he was perhaps less engaged in the discussion maybe)

HeidiLite · 24/08/2025 09:18

ooh I just found my favourite pair of Other Stories trousers on Vinted, that I wore pretty much every second day but of course they are several sizes too big now. In my size, new with tags, 15 eur!

On another thread people mentioned how they are no longer hiding away and cancelling events, as they didn't want people to see how big they had gotten. I have my postgrad class reunion in a couple of weeks - we are very close and have yearly reunions, even though we all live in different countries. They will be quite surprised to see the transformation since last reunion!
But also we have our high school reunion next year and many of those people I have not seen in 30 years. It will be so great to walk in and look fabulous! (well assuming I can keep the weight loss and not 'pile on the pounds', like Daily Mail tells us we should)

Thelittlestranger · 24/08/2025 09:28

That medexpress pricing is bonkers!

I miss the cuddles and look back on their chubby little legs and arms with rose tinted spectacles - but I'm able to enjoy them more now. And bringing kids up is exhausting - I get why people want to be grandparents now. Because you can revel in the cuddles without the overwhelming rest of it.

We were questioning why we got a second dog in Feb, right at a time when we could have been enjoying time not spent on the kids. Clearly I must get bored without the intensity of looking after something - and she is a very cute 8 month old pup now. And both dogs get me out walking - even when I don't want to.
