Welcome to thread lucky number 13!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we list old clothes on vinted, give thanks for MJ as we have had the BEST Summer in years as we are all significantly lighter.

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and our lowest stone brackets!

I’m on W42 D1 and on w2 of my first titrating down pen of 5.0mg

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 6.0lbs
GW 9st 0lb
Total loss so far 61.0 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

No big update from the doctors yet but I've been sent away with not one but two little plastic pots to gift them some poo in. Exciting times.
He didn't sounds overly alarmed by anything I said, including mounjaro, so if the poo tests hopefully rule out bowel cancel and chrones etc then think we have new IBS weirdness, the fibroids we recently discovered I have or something else as yet unknown as potential causes.
I got an excellent yet restrained haul of 'bits' in M&S including some yellow stickered wins. And I saw a heron, which is always a nice surprise on South London!

My sister has IBD and it presents in all kind of odd ways. Symptoms seem to change from day to day with no rhyme or reason to them. Very frustrating and painful.

Love a yellow sticker bargain in M&S!

And two poo pots?! That’s just showing off 😆.

Hopefully all will come back fine. Not sure what age you are but fibroids shrink after the menopause. They can definitely cause stomach pain though.

Enjoy your bargains!

I'm 45 and counting off the months as I think I'm right on the cusp of menopause. If the next 3 months carry on as the last 9 have then that's me officially closed for business. That's the irony with the fibroids diagnosis this year - 'do you have heavy periods?' - well not now, no but for 30 years, yes. If I've discovered the cause of those just as they're about to never be an issue again 🤯
But lady bits healthcare being what it is, I don't think I'll ever know if I've had them for years and they caused the heavy periods or if I'm one of the people to get them in their 40s.

Yeah totally re never knowing and they rarely do anything about them unless they grow huge. I was about 48 when I was told I had them and the man with the ‘magic wand’ said I’d probably had them since childhood, which was helpful, after 30 years of agonising periods that I thought was just normal!

I went to a doctor when I was 17 or 18 about my periods, because the combination of heavy bleeding and low blood pressure was seeing me regularly almost faint at my Saturday job in a busy coffee shop. 'Wiggle your toes' was the extent of his help. Dude, teenage me and the nice first aider lady have worked out more than that between us!
And now I'm wondering if it could have been fibroids all that time and if they could also be a reason my tummy has always been a bit bloated. Knowing they can effect fertility could I have avoided being on the pill!

I think this is the issue for a lot of women - not knowing how much pain is normal or abnormal. I used to faint from the pain in my teenage years and suffered in silence (let’s just say I did not have a mother who was in any way sympathetic) when my own DD was suffering the same I did my best to ensure she had appropriate treatment and adequate pain relief ( mefenamic acid was prescribed for her and made a huge difference in management) so you have my absolute sympathies.

Menopause was an absolute relief in some ways..l but as we know an absolute bastard in others… especially weight gain. It may be that you’ve started earlier than you realise. Looking back, I should really have been taking HRT from about the age of 43 or so. Hope you get it all sorted.

The amount of times I’ve stopped to admire a heron next to a pond, only to find it was plastic 😂

I’ve been getting DH to drill new holes into my favourite belt. I stopped yesterday and counted - I’ve gone down 5 belt holes since November. If each hole is about an inch apart, that means I’ve lost 5 inches off my waist. I suppose I should give in and buy a new one.

How funny, I dug out an old Prada belt I’ve not worn since 1997 and it fits! My latest Gucci ones now need extra holes (and I’m not shelling out for new ones!) so i’m off to see the nice man at Timpsons this week for extra holes…

My MeThreeSixty showed that I’ve lost 1.5inches off my waist since July 10th…

That’s a great problem to have!

I have just ordered a new swim suit in a size 12 in the sale as the size 16 I purchased in April is too big. Unfortunately I purchased 2 size 16s which have barely been used. Luckily I didn’t have the same sort of embarrassing moment when my size 20 tankini top and bottoms where too large after in hotel pool and I didn’t know whether to pull up the top or to hang onto the bottoms. Never buying another halter neck 😂😂😂

My body shape seems to have whipped down through size 14 really quickly after hanging around 16 for a while.

I’ve had a similar experience with some coloured bras bought for my big fat Greek holiday which I’ve never worn and are now too big 😩

Thanks for that. Good to hear. At one point I stopped and said to my dog, "I'm not sure how, but I feel I'm fucking this up."

This will also be me. I’ve never done a bonus dose, but I’m 💯 going to be doing one now the prices have gone up.

@SerenePeer Spaniel Ears really, really made me laugh! I think mine are more like elephant ears..... I'm an E in a bra, but boy do they let themselves down when released!

Well done @PresidentBarklett for doing the 5th dose. Yes, you do have to pull, relax, pull relax, to get the liquid into the syringe. That is quite normal when drawing up medication from a sealed container.
As already mentioned, it gets easier each time, and you will be saving a fortune!

Congratulations @PinkArt on the new stone level. such a great feeling to see a new number!

I’ve gone beyond spaniel ears to weirdly foldable boobs. Anyone else had the same? 😂

Similar here. I was amazed when a consultant commented on my high pain threshold as I was convinced I was just a wuss and my school told me that it always looks like periods are heavier than they are so I thought I was exaggerating my blood loss. I was 40 by the time I got sorted thanks to an endometrial ablation

Phew, if that’s how things are looking I’m glad I’m in a position to be staring to wind down. Lots of consider going forward, alright.

Agreed. I think a lot of people will be coming off MJ more quickly than they had previously thought. Which all adds up to less sales in total.

This is up there with Gerald Ratner’s top business tips, no?

I got the same email, it made my eyes water. I ended up stocking up so will have enough to last another 19 weeks but longer if I drag it out by jabbing less often or counting the clicks to take smaller doses while I titrate down. I'm really only maintaining now anyway.

Same here. I have 2 real doses in my current 5mg pen - so 3 if I include the bonus dose plus 3 x 5 doses in my newly delivered 5mg pens so I have 18 weeks left before I think about whether to go long term in 2.5mg or not.

Morning gang! I'm here to report great success from my new found prosecco diet 😂 No movement for 2 weeks then a 2lbs whoosh this morning following a night of gin royales and prosecco last night! Sadly, the effect this had on my sleep was not as welcome as the weight-loss. There will be a nap taking place this afternoon 100%.

The 1920s event was a hoot. Mostly because we were the only ones who actually embraced the theme! Nobody else was dressed up! I started to feel a bit weird and uncomfortable about it then thought feck it. My dress is gorgeous, I feel amazing so who cares? The night was slightly marred by some younger women in our group (friends of friends) who obviously did not know how to behave in public 🙄 Too much prosecco and no volume control. But my goodness what a difference to my confidence being almost 4 stone lighter. At my heavier weight I would have dreaded such an event, felt so fat and frumpy the whole time, worried constantly about how I looked, avoided any photos and left early.

@Mounjaropen I’m only your international friend until Sunday! Flight back to Blighty tomorrow with yards (slight exaggeration) of spare seatbelt instead of the sweat inducing ‘will it/won’t it?’ fit. Another NSV has been not needing Imodium (or Home Bargains equivalent) while away. Usually all it takes is to cross over a county border or get a whiff of aviation fuel at Gatwick and I’m knocking them back like Smarties. I’ve injected whilst away and have managed to eat and drink sensibly with a marathon not a sprint mindset. It’s SOOOO weird not being obsessed with food and very liberating. Only downside is sitting on a hard surface…..picnic bench, M&S cafe chairs etc….leaves me shifting around on my bony derrière 😂. Small price to pay though…. Thanks for all your lovely replies 😊

Well we’re glad to have you (and your new bony bum) here! 🥰

I'm not going to pretend I'm going to suddenly start weight lifting or working out. I do walk (almost) every day in the local woods thanks to ddog. I love walking beside the streams that meander their way through and listening to the birds. I'm not remotely rural so very grateful for the slither of green the council has left. Luckily there's some rare plants so hopefully it'll be protected. The community is very protective of it too and regularly litter pick and maintain it. It's beautiful

As long as you’re active, it doesn’t matter what type of exercise you’re doing, just keep moving 🥰

Sounds like you had great fun and I am so glad you dressed up, even if no one else did.
Now I am 5 stone slimmer I love planning what to wear, it really adds to the fun. Before I would be dreading it, and wondering if anything would fit and how could I hide my body.
We are going out for a birthday lunch today and I am wearing my new SIZE 14 dress from Aspigia. Hurrah for end of season sales and hurrah for WLI's.😁💃

Ah the anxiety when you realise no-one else has followed what you thought was a very obvious dress code! Years back I also observed a 20s dress code, for afternoon tea for a hen do. I could have cried as I approached the venue and saw that no-one else had 😭
Love that you just embraced it. It shall channel my inner @SerenePeer next time I'm over dressed!
