Welcome to thread lucky number 13!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we list old clothes on vinted, give thanks for MJ as we have had the BEST Summer in years as we are all significantly lighter.

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and our lowest stone brackets!

I’m on W42 D1 and on w2 of my first titrating down pen of 5.0mg

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 6.0lbs
GW 9st 0lb
Total loss so far 61.0 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

The fifth dose is easy to do @RayonSunrise It means you get 5 doses out of the pen and it is still within the 30 day window. Jab 1 = Day 1 on the count. It makes more economic sense with the price increases from 1 September. I have read in other threads about people jabbing every 8/9 days instead of 7 and making a pen last 6 weeks by using higher pens to deliver smaller doses but I am not sure about that.

I bet Eli Lilly will be doing their best to reduce the amount left in the pen so it doesn’t equate to a dose. They will need to make up for lost sales if we all start switching to Wegovy at some point. Serves them right imho.

Mine is a trip to the doctors, rather than a yacht party! But I might go the long way home via M&S for 'bits' from the foodhall, so still a fabulous day out 😂

Edited

Picking up 'bits' from M&S on a Friday, especially for a picky tea is 100% elite.

RayonSunrise · 22/08/2025 16:37

Yeah I don’t think I would be comfortable completely chucking the manufacturer’s guidance, but using the medication they send me as long as it’s in date doesn’t strike me as enormously risky!

Novjaro · 22/08/2025 18:01

Good luck with your appt @PinkArt and enjoy M&S!

Thank you! Ironically my tummy felt totally fine all morning and I felt like I'd be such a fraud - well I did have some pain...
It's niggling a bit this afternoon though so definitely worth talking to the doctor, with the bonus that whatever it is might be resolving itself.

@Mounjaropen I’m only your international friend until Sunday! Flight back to Blighty tomorrow with yards (slight exaggeration) of spare seatbelt instead of the sweat inducing ‘will it/won’t it?’ fit. Another NSV has been not needing Imodium (or Home Bargains equivalent) while away. Usually all it takes is to cross over a county border or get a whiff of aviation fuel at Gatwick and I’m knocking them back like Smarties. I’ve injected whilst away and have managed to eat and drink sensibly with a marathon not a sprint mindset. It’s SOOOO weird not being obsessed with food and very liberating. Only downside is sitting on a hard surface…..picnic bench, M&S cafe chairs etc….leaves me shifting around on my bony derrière 😂. Small price to pay though…. Thanks for all your lovely replies 😊

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 22/08/2025 20:17

Jesus. That’s a bigger increase than I was expecting. Are other suppliers saying similar?

Meant to say that the prices there are from an email I received from MedExpress this evening.

evilharpy · 22/08/2025 21:06

I got the same email, it made my eyes water. I ended up stocking up so will have enough to last another 19 weeks but longer if I drag it out by jabbing less often or counting the clicks to take smaller doses while I titrate down. I'm really only maintaining now anyway.

RayonSunrise · 22/08/2025 21:40

Phew, if that’s how things are looking I’m glad I’m in a position to be staring to wind down. Lots of consider going forward, alright.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 22/08/2025 21:44

I got a new pen on Wed, but I’ve just tried and MedExpress won’t let me reorder for another 2 weeks. Bollocks. I guess I’ll be titrating down more steeply than anticipated! I’ll be going from 12.5mg to 7.5, and then at these prices I’ll probably see if I can get a 2.5 rather than a 5 when I can reorder. I was planning on tapering off anyway.

@SerenePeer Spaniel Ears really, really made me laugh! I think mine are more like elephant ears..... I'm an E in a bra, but boy do they let themselves down when released!

Well done @PresidentBarklett for doing the 5th dose. Yes, you do have to pull, relax, pull relax, to get the liquid into the syringe. That is quite normal when drawing up medication from a sealed container.
As already mentioned, it gets easier each time, and you will be saving a fortune!

Congratulations @PinkArt on the new stone level. such a great feeling to see a new number!

Thanks for that. Good to hear. At one point I stopped and said to my dog, "I'm not sure how, but I feel I'm fucking this up."

Yes definitely keep the appt but hopefully it’ll turn out to be nothing. At least your mind will be at rest. Keep us all posted.

PresidentBarklett · 22/08/2025 23:35

Oh, @PinkArt, I missed your earlier post. Best of luck at the doctors tomorrow. Let us know how you got on.

I hope your dog gave you a reassuring wag of the tale, and a paws-up!

Wow @TooExtraImmatureCheddar , Flipping Heck!! That price list is shocking! I did see a press release that individual pharmacy companies will be able to do discounted deals with Eli Lilly so there is still a glimmer of hope it might not be quite so bad. I'm ordering a pen in a few days so hopefully will get it at the 'old' price.

I now have skinny problems. All my belts are too large and they're desperately needed to make even my new clothes fit. Time to get back on Vinted and set search to size 10. Yikes!

jay55 · 23/08/2025 10:36

The prices email did make me gasp. And I’ll deffo be considering a switch to wegovy if nothing else I don’t want to give the greedy fuckers that sort of cash.

DarkForces · 23/08/2025 10:44

Completely agree @jay55 . I'm considering swapping even if the price increases are reversed as Eli has behaved appallingly imo. Wegovy have taken a far more responsible stance and I'd rather support that, especially as I'm going to be a customer for a very long time

That’s a great problem to have!

I have just ordered a new swim suit in a size 12 in the sale as the size 16 I purchased in April is too big. Unfortunately I purchased 2 size 16s which have barely been used. Luckily I didn’t have the same sort of embarrassing moment when my size 20 tankini top and bottoms where too large after in hotel pool and I didn’t know whether to pull up the top or to hang onto the bottoms. Never buying another halter neck 😂😂😂

My body shape seems to have whipped down through size 14 really quickly after hanging around 16 for a while.

I’ve been getting DH to drill new holes into my favourite belt. I stopped yesterday and counted - I’ve gone down 5 belt holes since November. If each hole is about an inch apart, that means I’ve lost 5 inches off my waist. I suppose I should give in and buy a new one.

May get my dad on it. Dh is more likely to turn the belt into a hole than insert one in the right place 😂
