Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we list old clothes on vinted, give thanks for MJ as we have had the BEST Summer in years as we are all significantly lighter.

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and our lowest stone brackets!

I’m on W42 D1 and on w2 of my first titrating down pen of 5.0mg

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 6.0lbs
GW 9st 0lb
Total loss so far 61.0 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Absolutely loving those shoes @Mounjaropen , worth every penny and are definitely an investment piece. I'm sure they make you happy, even when they are just sitting in the cupboard waiting patiently for their next outing.

Sounds like you are doing incredibly well @DarkForces . Size 10 is amazing. You are quite right, I too need to get rid of those larger clothes. They are currently sitting in the attic. They are mainly summer clothes, so I will do it next spring and put them all on vinted.

Ditto to everyone's positive comments as to how lovely this thread is, and how supportive everyone is. XX ❤

I'm officially in maintenance. Had my appointment today and met Hira. She was lovely and very supportive. Plan is to take my remaining 7.5 jabs every 10 days and then move to 1mg Wegovy for the foreseeable. She's happy with my progress and plan so I'm all set. I've got a decent bit of wiggle room as bmi is 22.8. I'm pretty much in a size 10 now and she's told me I have to clear my fat clothes out as I'm going to be fine!

Big sounding klaxon for officially begin in maintenance

My Hira meet up is end of November.

And those shoes @Mounjaropen flipping gorgeous! Alas I would ruin a pair like that in hours

🥳 for the losses!

just waiting for the train (i missed one by 30secs because these babies are not designed to run in 😂)

Photo might take a while to load.. my cleaning lady approved both dresses but I’ve opted for the non- pleather one as it is 25deg in London and frankly arriving a sweaty mess was not my vibe…

Gorgeous!! 😍

@evilharpy @Mounjaropen @PinkArt Did you know that Pringles were involved in a court case in which they themselves were trying to prove that they were not a real food? 😇

RayonSunrise · 20/09/2025 09:34

Oh I am loving the clothes & shoes turn this thread has taken. My interest in fashion over the years is very noticeably tied to my weight gain/loss cycle - I’m very much back in the Clothes Zone myself!

@Mounjaropen, loving all your slinky seasonal burgundy! The shoes are a triumph and I hope the lunch was fun. I’ve been a bit obsessed looking at burgundy myself over the past couple of weeks. I was hoping to upgrade my very battered, 20-year-old biker jacket (which fits again, yay!) with something deeply oxblood and more in the sleek racer style that’s popping up again, but in the end settled for classic black because a) I couldn’t find EXACTLY what I wanted and b) I saw such a gorgeous pre loved Reiss jacket for such a good price I thought it would be silly to pass it up. So now it’s arrived (twirl!) and it’s great. Now I can use the money I saved to scratch my burgundy itch through other things. 😂

The talk of UPFs has been interesting too. I tend to avoid buying them - being raised by vegetable-growing foodie parents has set my baseline at “cook from scratch, all the time” - but my effortlessly slim husband was raised with quite a few convenience foods so I’ve got used to having crisps, biscuits, fizzy drinks, etc in the house and in my diet. (The kids joke about the differences in Mum and Dad shops!) I love the jabs because I can now ignore the UPF food for weeks at a time, but if I do have some I can stop very quickly - the way my husband does naturally.

But now for this week’s weigh-in!

Height: 5 ft 10
SW: 93kg (14 st 9)
CW: 66kg (10 st 5) - whoosh, a kg down!
GW: 63kg (10 st)

Clearly being back on 7.5mg is not slowing my weight loss down. I have my maintence call with Hira booked for mid-Oct, and at this rate it looks like I may be at goal when it arrives.

Think I will dig out some sentimental fashion items I’ve kept from the late 90s/early 2000s, just to see. They’ve been sitting unloved since pregnancy 1, quite a long time ago now…

Weekly weigh in from me

SW: 14st
CW: 9 st 13
GW: 9st 7

Pleased to have broken the 10st barrier but my weight loss has been very slow recently (7lbs in 3 months). I had planned to increase my dose but the price rises scared me a bit so have gone back down to 7.5mg. My BMI is 24.2 so it is obviously mostly good news and I am still slightly suprised when I pick up a size S and it fits but would dearly love that little bit of wiggle room. I think more exercise is needed for me. Am loving hearing about everyone's successes.

RayonSunrise · 20/09/2025 09:49

Mounjaropen · 19/09/2025 13:07

And I wholeheartedly agree with you about how people speak to each other at work and online. What ever happened to ‘don’t write anything you wouldn’t say to your Nan’ ?

I also agree, but I can be as guilty as anyone - I do have to catch myself “typing in anger.”

I’ve been online for longer than most and while there’s always been an element of people being disinhibited in anonymous, disembodied conversations, the temperature has been going up in recent years. I think a big part of the problem is there are more very young people online for much bigger chunks of their social development than ever before, so they are missing developing a lot of their ideas in social groups where you learn to moderate yourself and get along with disagreement. At the same time, there are aLao adults who are enjoying the ability to be gratuitously mean with no real comeback, and a social media model that rewards outrage clicks. Mix them together and things are getting pretty volatile.

I hear you on the exercise! I’m doing C25k, and though it feels like slow going (hard to believe I have run a half marathon in the past!), I suspect it’s contributed quite a bit to this week’s woosh.

I work in the industry and have worked with Gregg many, many years ago. It's an unhealthy mix of talent being treated like royalty and everyone being freelance. It doesn't matter how many messages we are now getting about whistleblower schemes, no-one feels secure enough to report anything. If you're the person who reports Gregg (or the many other Greggs) then the reality is that Gregg will be back for the next series and you as the freelancer won't be when there are hundreds of other equally talented people who could do your job. The freelancing also means patterns of bad behavior take longer to emerge, as the entire industry is so transient.

That’s a very good point. It does make me wonder what else is bubbling away out there, with worried people keeping schtum to protect their livelihoods.

This is the kind of Pringle bashing I need to hear. They were useful though to help me realise that 2.5 isn't helping quite as much as I hoped. I dropped down to see if it helped my tummy weirdness but I don't think it's made much difference. It did make the Pringles disappear more quickly than 5 and 7 did though!

DarkForces · 20/09/2025 10:30

Clothes clear out stage 1 complete and over half my wardrobe is sitting on my bed ready for stage 2, which should be Vinted but I don't know if it's better to just get it gone! It's an intimidating pile!

@random223 🎉🎉well done on making it into the 9s.

The Upf talk is fascinating, my sister had far fewer weight issues than me, being 5 years older than me was 16 when mum started working outside the home, I was 11, so had convenience foods for a much longer period. Especially during the school holidays.

Goldleafcat · 20/09/2025 13:18

This UPF chat is inspiring me to reduce the amount we have. Might dust off the bread maker and start making home made loaves again. Problem was that it was so tasty I’d end up eating far too much. Hopefully with MJ I’ll be able to restrain myself!

Ordered quite a few items in the Next presale and some arrived today. 4 pairs of jeans and none were right! Either too big, too long or a bit weird. One was a pair of Good American flares which are lovely but insanely long. I tried braving a regular but it was clown like. Then I read the label. Inseam 33.5 inches?! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I despair of leg lengths in trousers!

For those interested in the impact of UPFs @LindtCurves another ta-dah moment.

Article in the Telegraph

Food Intelligence: The Science of How Food Both Nourishes and Harms Us’ (Wildfire, £22) will be published on September 23. It was supported by a grant from the Alfred P Sloan Foundation

Dr Hall’s ongoing research shows that diets high in ultra-processed foods (UPFs) encourage us to overeat excessively. He has recently tracked participants exposed to different diets, including minimally processed and ultra-processed, and allowed them to eat as much or as little as they want while sticking to these groups of food.

When following a high-UPF diet, participants consumed 1,000 calories more per day and gained around 1kg per week. “That’s the only diet we’ve seen that causes people to spontaneously increase the number of calories they’re eating and gain weight and gain body fat,” he says. It therefore makes sense to limit the proportion of UPFs in your diet, to prevent overeating.

Let's bash the Pringles to the ground then...

"A High Court judge ruled only last summer that the Pringle, containing as it does less than 50% potato matter and formed into an entirely artificial shape, does not constitute a crisp - which would attract VAT [...] Let's leave aside the stupendous idiocy of this argument for a moment and just revel in the irony: a huge food processor going to court to publicly and expensively assert that their product is artificial, lacking in natural ingredients and utterly mucked-about with."

@RayonSunrise fake potato scandal infused with tax dodging 👹100K VAT they had to pay back, as the final ruling held that the product is subject to tax after all.

I really need to read "Food Fight" again and remind myself why I decided against eating UPFs in the first place, and the dirty tricks companies use to ruin our health, starting from a young age. It's full of bits of research like the one from @Goldleafcat

Today's not been bad, no excessive calories or snacks consumed, even if not the most wholesome foods. Will weigh myself tomorrow, interested to see what one week "off the meds" did to my weight, though clothes still fit, so hopefully not a lot.

@RayonSunrise oh the 90s wardrobe!! I'm back in some jeans from year 2000 I thought I'd never wear again, I've always kept them as a bit of a joke and now they fit! But it's nice to wer your old favourite lothes again, isn't it? Any particular pieces you have missed?

Are you ladies going to miss any particular pieces from your 'bigger' wardrobe? And are you keeping some of it just in case, or getting rid of it all?

There's a couple of bits I've listed on Vinted with a heavy heart... They brought me so much joy. Hope someone will love them as well as I did... I'm keeping some bits back as well though just in case, a bit like how I did with my 'skinny' clothes all these years ago.

DarkForces · 21/09/2025 03:48

@LindtCurves I've just done a huge upload onto Vinted and feel exactly the same. My favourite pieces sold within hours and now I feel sad packing them up but you're right, hopefully they'll be loved elsewhere.

Weirdly since being on mj Pringles aren't nearly as nice. I eat them occasionally then wonder if I actually like them... 🤔 .

Yep, that sums up why I don’t eat Pringles. It’s produced from waste created by other products. Great if you run the factory though.

I hear you on the clothes front. I’ve got some lovely pieces that I don’t want to list but I’m looking to see if I can buy them in a smaller size on Vinted as it would be cheaper than getting my large size altered. I had a quick read through a Vinted tips thread on S&B before starting as eBay has always been my preferred method. I’m waiting for Xmas dress/sequin season to start as my wardrobe looks like it was curated by a magpie tbh 😂

Thanks for sharing.

The main takeaway I got from Chris VT was to check ingredient labels. If there’s an item listed that you cannot find in a domestic kitchen, don’t buy it.

I’m grateful I can cook, I enjoy it and I have time so I recognise it’s easier for me to do this. That said, yesterday I made a chocolate cake because I wanted to try a recipe from Saturday kitchen last week and it was delish. (Recipe below) And better than anything I could buy in the shops. It took 10mins to make, was made in one pan and took 20mins to bake. I couldn’t have got to the shops and back in that time. Over a weekend, you can find 30mins if you want to I think. I also made the homemade ice cream earlier in the week which was delish too. I’m making two of the full Alaska bombe but in miniature format for mine and DH’s Sunday lunch later (just the two of us today) but with a simpler meringue coating using the leftover egg white from the cake recipe yesterday. We’re having Roast Lamb. If you want to make the cake, you don’t necessarily need kefir, a plain Greek or natural yogurt would work well or buttermilk if you have it.
