Welcome to thread lucky number 13!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we list old clothes on vinted, give thanks for MJ as we have had the BEST Summer in years as we are all significantly lighter.

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and our lowest stone brackets!

I’m on W42 D1 and on w2 of my first titrating down pen of 5.0mg

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 6.0lbs
GW 9st 0lb
Total loss so far 61.0 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Thanks @Mounjaropen I think I’ve said before that coming off the jabs cold turkey was not what I’d planned. I’d been considering maintenance from probably the first month and had a carefully laid out plan of titrating down the doses carefully. Ideally I’d have liked to have lost another half a stone and weaned myself off MJ. But I’m delighted with how I look now at almost 53 and also with my running progress. This time last year I was 3 stone heavier and a big size 14 (at my height that really showed) and struggling with the early weeks of couch to 5k.

Maintaining weight and coming off MJ hasn’t been easy. About week 6 the hunger really set in. And I miss the safety net of knowing I can jab and that will go away. I track what I eat and aim to stay within my maintenance calories of 1500-1600 calories and do 15k steps a day.

My focus now is body comp. I’m about 69% muscle and old like to increase that. But my gym going is sporadic as I’ve been focusing on running. Need a routine to fit everything in 😂

For me it probably worked out being forced to come off MJ as I would find the new pricing prohibitive. I’m so happy I started MJ when I did, and delighted to have joined this lovely supportive group for the journey.

Cantbesure · 19/09/2025 09:16

@evilharpy I definitely feel hungry again and it’s harder to quash that like I would have done on MJ. The noise in my head telling me I NEED to eat can be very strong. Being busy helps. If I’m rushing around I don’t feel as hungry or the noise isn’t as loud. And I record everything on MFP and do a lot of negotiating with myself 😂

The most encouraging thing has been seeing that when I put on a few pounds a few days of really keeping to 1500 cals and running sees it come off again very quickly.

Sometimes everything happens for a reason, don’t you think? It’s lovely to hear how positive you are feeling, and at least this group hasn’t turned into the usual fight club you see elsewhere on MNwith people being pedantic over every single thing that’s posted… I sometimes wonder what’s going on in other peoples lives that they feel the need to pick apart a sentence from a stranger and what should be a helpful forum…!!

Totally agree with that. I find that if I just stop have a black coffee or a large glass of water and then see how I feel, the feeling has usually passed…. Plus previously, I think I was so despondent at being fat and not being able to lose any weight that my fuck it gene just took over everything 😂

Happy Friday everyone!

Weighed myself finally and I’ve put on a pound or so (11 stone 8). Have lost my 5 stone badge 🥹 However given I’ve been eating pretty much whatever and the wine has crept back in this week I’m ok with that (and hopefully a stall here and there helps with all things hair / skin / risk of pancreatitis etc!).

And I’m pleased to announce I had a lovely hot shower in my own bathroom, as the hot water cylinder etc was finally replaced YESTERDAY. That was ridiculous. Plumber first came out to look at it in early August. Nice enough guy but the organisation was severely lacking. Fingers crossed it all continues to work 🤪

Have a great Friday and weekend!

🥳 for actual hot water and heating! All fixed at my end too 🥰

i’ve stayed off the wine this week and it has made a big difference to my ability to shift the stubborn Pound or 2 that I put on post wedding… I just need to accept that I can’t go back to my old ways of drinking alcohol most days. The most surprising thing is I haven’t replaced the alcohol with chocolate… Yet 🤞

I simply can not buy a fun sized bag of anything or any tubs of whatever. I just don’t trust myself or MJ to say no to cramming it all in over the course of a day. I know my weaknesses and trigger points now after almost a year on MJ.

I think the biggest benefit of MJ is the ability to be able to take a step back and really analyse eating habits and weaknesses. It’s brilliant that you recognise where you might lapse. Keep going! 💪💪

@Cantbesure well done for maintaining, that's brilliant! Are you finding yourself as hungry as before MJ (as opposed to just food noise)? I'm still on 10mg every 9 days (reducing to 7.5 next week) and have found myself actually hungry multiple times this week for the first time in ages, such a weird feeling.

@Goldleafcat a pound or so is nothing, I fluctuate by more than that at various points of the week. You've done amazing.

@Mounjaropen I've been hunting for that Pringles documentary and can't find it anywhere that doesn't need a subscription but will keep hunting, I feel like I need to put myself off pringles just in case they creep back in! Fairly sure my sweet tooth has gone by the habit being broken, but I could still polish off a giant pack of salt and vinegar crisps if I let myself and I'm not sure a tube of pringles would hang around for long either.

I’m sorry I can’t recall where I did see it, I’ve got a feeling it was either BBC or Channel 4 and it may well have been one of those. Let’s look at the factory type / can you shop betterprogrammes, if I recall correctly, it wasn’t specifically to rubbish Pringles, it was more about understanding what goes into manufacturing some of the popular food stuffs. Anyway, it was enough to put me off (essentially they are manufactured from reformed byproduct from other goods produced in the same factory..) and they are deliberately designed to make them moreish with their “mouthfeel” (terrible word)

CW:14st 10lbs
1st GW: 17st 13lbs
2nd GW 15st 4lbs
3rd GW: 13st 9lbs

No change from last week so I'm still on the nose of the 5 stone loss. I have learned that Pringles are stronger than mounjaro so won't make the mistake of buying those again. I've been snackier this week so am going to nudge back up to 3.75 to quieten that down.

Mounjaropen · 19/09/2025 10:32

Friday update from me: still weighing in at 133.0 LBS exactly… And I’m on a weekly dose of 5.0 mg. I’ve got a boozy lunch today where I will be wearing my new fancy shoes ( reader, they sparked joy in every which way I thought they would)and one of the new burgundydresses 🥰 so havingread an article in one of the business pages about the price of gold and currently Irecalled the craze for selling old gold earlier in the noughties… I remembered I had been given a solid gold bangle by my ex-DH about 30 years ago which was sat in the safe doing nothing… I’m a terrible hoarder ( organised of course) and also quite sentimental, so getting rid of stuff isn’t a natural instinct for me! But I took it to be valued yesterday and it was worth… 700 quid (obviously they’ll be selling it for way more than that) which is exactly the amount I needed to fund the shoes 💪 I haven’t parted with it yet, as I’m going to get on with my Vinted sales next week and I won’t need the money until the end of next month when my credit card bill is due but I alsocouldn’t see an occasion in which I might wear it.. I certainly haven’t worn it for. 20 odd years and it’s unlikely the price of gold is going to get significantly higher I think, so I would be selling at probably the best price for it. It’s not like I can pass on to DD a bangle given to me by someone who wasn’t her father! 😂

Hope everyone else has something planned for the weekend that Sparks joy in their life 🥰

Haha I did wonder if it might be Inside the Factory! He was binned off from it in 2023 due to allegations of dodgy behaviour. And yet still continued in other programmes for some time…

Shocking and disappointing how this behaviour is allowed to continue even after all the investigations/ alleged vows to improve after Jimmy Saville / Rolf Harris etc. I know he’s not in the same league but still extremely creepy and predatory.

jay55 · 19/09/2025 11:31

@PinkArtim willing that shift to 5stone gone for you from across the universe. You are so due a klaxon.

@Mounjaropenyay for the shoes bringing joy. And the plan to fund them is excellent.

This week I have pissed away 5 of the 8kgs I returned from holiday with. Feeling so relieved I hadn’t actually eaten myself into a coma and not realised, and that it really was water weight. And delighted that I didn’t use it as an excuse to give up.
Hoping the other three eject themselves over the weekend.
Although I would like my bladder to interrupt my sleep a little less.

just waiting for the train (i missed one by 30secs because these babies are not designed to run in 😂)

Photo might take a while to load.. my cleaning lady approved both dresses but I’ve opted for the non- pleather one as it is 25deg in London and frankly arriving a sweaty mess was not my vibe…

I work in the industry and have worked with Gregg many, many years ago. It's an unhealthy mix of talent being treated like royalty and everyone being freelance. It doesn't matter how many messages we are now getting about whistleblower schemes, no-one feels secure enough to report anything. If you're the person who reports Gregg (or the many other Greggs) then the reality is that Gregg will be back for the next series and you as the freelancer won't be when there are hundreds of other equally talented people who could do your job. The freelancing also means patterns of bad behavior take longer to emerge, as the entire industry is so transient.

Excellent work on using a bangle for the shoe of dreams @Mounjaropen How I aspire to have a safe with expensive jewellery in!

I am feeling positive yes. This thread community has been really helpful. It’s been an open and safe space where no one has turned on anyone or made them feel stupid. Some of the attacks on simple questions are shocking. Here has been a supportive space. I would have settled at bmi 24.9 without this group as I thought that was the best I could manage. Maybe like some of you have posted about not getting above my station etc.

There is definitely a cultural shift change in how we speak to people online. We have had a big change at work and our directors have done an amazing job of keeping updated but the comments people make (anonymously) in the chat are unprofessional and totally inappropriate.

I think it was a cultural thing to buy family/GF’s/spouses jewellery in the 80’s/90’s wasn’t it? Now it’s all Ninja Foodies and an Airfryer people lust after 😂

I need to find my 80’s jewellery box because there are some choice pieces from H Samuel and Elizabeth Duke somewhere which might raise some funds on Vinted under a ‘vintage’ label 😂

I can't help on Pringles chat specifically but there's a book called The Dorito Effect that covers what I think you're looking for, easy to find the author Mark Schatzker to listen on podcasts etc (I'm assuming everyone has read Ultra processed people already!)

honestly get the digital kitchen scales out and then google the likely value per gram/ounce. I went to a proper old school jewellers/pawn shop yesterday and I could’ve left with either cash or a bank transfer there and then. The shittier the shop, the more likely they are to not mess you about 😂

I'm officially in maintenance. Had my appointment today and met Hira. She was lovely and very supportive. Plan is to take my remaining 7.5 jabs every 10 days and then move to 1mg Wegovy for the foreseeable. She's happy with my progress and plan so I'm all set. I've got a decent bit of wiggle room as bmi is 22.8. I'm pretty much in a size 10 now and she's told me I have to clear my fat clothes out as I'm going to be fine!
