Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we list old clothes on vinted, give thanks for MJ as we have had the BEST Summer in years as we are all significantly lighter.

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and our lowest stone brackets!

I’m on W42 D1 and on w2 of my first titrating down pen of 5.0mg

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 6.0lbs
GW 9st 0lb
Total loss so far 61.0 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

It won't be nearly as fun as @Mounjaropen. I'm more George than Gucci I'm afraid. Loving Stella Morgan these days. I'm finding my style!

Ahh but I like to mix a bit of high street with the fancy gear. I was complimented by Anna Chancellor (actual Duck Face herself!) on a particularly vibrant Kaftan. Is it Roksanda she asked? Nope I said, £60, H&M 😂

Thanks for all the Pringles chat. It definitely helped me look at them differently in Sainsburys yesterday (and leave them on the shelves!) even though I was shopping when super hungry.

That’s a very good point. It does make me wonder what else is bubbling away out there, with worried people keeping schtum to protect their livelihoods.

I did mean to reply to your point @PinkArt on this topic. Shocking, but I guess it happens in all industries. I wasn’t in a sector related to entertainment but I’ve left meetings and even jobs where the corporate values did not match my own or decisions were just morally wrong. It takes balls but I was a female in a male industry at the top of the game on my own merit (absolutely no DEI in that industry back in the 90’s!) and in latter years the firm needed me for the numbers on their boards more than I needed them. And I did have the luxury of financial backing from DH to do so. But I completely understand how that isn’t possible for everyone if you have to put food on the table. I had more approaches than the runway at Heathrow from men who thought they were wildly attractive after a few drinks at industry events to the point where I would have to have a strategy to make an exit from a do without actually having to do a Queen Camilla and kick anyone in the balls. Wild when I look back.

I hear you on the exercise! I’m doing C25k, and though it feels like slow going (hard to believe I have run a half marathon in the past!), I suspect it’s contributed quite a bit to this week’s woosh.

Keep going! Slow and steady wins the race 💪

Weekly weigh in from me

SW: 14st
CW: 9 st 13
GW: 9st 7

Pleased to have broken the 10st barrier but my weight loss has been very slow recently (7lbs in 3 months). I had planned to increase my dose but the price rises scared me a bit so have gone back down to 7.5mg. My BMI is 24.2 so it is obviously mostly good news and I am still slightly suprised when I pick up a size S and it fits but would dearly love that little bit of wiggle room. I think more exercise is needed for me. Am loving hearing about everyone's successes.

Fantastic result! We’re at a similar start/end point I think? I’ve also tapered off earlier due to pricing. I’m a big believer in everything happening for a reason so I’m pulling on my big girl pants to try and do this alone in the future from a MJ pov (or maybe very small micro doses from a 2.5mg).

Anyone else reading articles about how MJ may permanently affect gastric emptying? I can’t deny I’m a bit worried about that. It’s such a shame there are no long term studies about the long term effects. But I wouldn’t change anything from the past year except maybe I went onto 5mg earlier than I needed to.

Oh I am loving the clothes & shoes turn this thread has taken. My interest in fashion over the years is very noticeably tied to my weight gain/loss cycle - I’m very much back in the Clothes Zone myself!

@Mounjaropen, loving all your slinky seasonal burgundy! The shoes are a triumph and I hope the lunch was fun. I’ve been a bit obsessed looking at burgundy myself over the past couple of weeks. I was hoping to upgrade my very battered, 20-year-old biker jacket (which fits again, yay!) with something deeply oxblood and more in the sleek racer style that’s popping up again, but in the end settled for classic black because a) I couldn’t find EXACTLY what I wanted and b) I saw such a gorgeous pre loved Reiss jacket for such a good price I thought it would be silly to pass it up. So now it’s arrived (twirl!) and it’s great. Now I can use the money I saved to scratch my burgundy itch through other things. 😂

The talk of UPFs has been interesting too. I tend to avoid buying them - being raised by vegetable-growing foodie parents has set my baseline at “cook from scratch, all the time” - but my effortlessly slim husband was raised with quite a few convenience foods so I’ve got used to having crisps, biscuits, fizzy drinks, etc in the house and in my diet. (The kids joke about the differences in Mum and Dad shops!) I love the jabs because I can now ignore the UPF food for weeks at a time, but if I do have some I can stop very quickly - the way my husband does naturally.

But now for this week’s weigh-in!

Height: 5 ft 10
SW: 93kg (14 st 9)
CW: 66kg (10 st 5) - whoosh, a kg down!
GW: 63kg (10 st)

Clearly being back on 7.5mg is not slowing my weight loss down. I have my maintence call with Hira booked for mid-Oct, and at this rate it looks like I may be at goal when it arrives.

Think I will dig out some sentimental fashion items I’ve kept from the late 90s/early 2000s, just to see. They’ve been sitting unloved since pregnancy 1, quite a long time ago now…

Fantastic whoosh! Well done!

And welcome to the Burgundy club 😂 (jacket sounds lush!)

I'm officially in maintenance. Had my appointment today and met Hira. She was lovely and very supportive. Plan is to take my remaining 7.5 jabs every 10 days and then move to 1mg Wegovy for the foreseeable. She's happy with my progress and plan so I'm all set. I've got a decent bit of wiggle room as bmi is 22.8. I'm pretty much in a size 10 now and she's told me I have to clear my fat clothes out as I'm going to be fine!

Congratulations! Fab BMI!

Make sure Hira has followed up with the email with the codes etc. she didn’t after mine and it was a PITA.

Ooh. What was your pricing strategy?

Tbh my pricing strategy was 'get it gone' so I priced at the lower end! I usually send to charity so anything is a bonus. I've bagged up the stuff I don't think will sell for the textile section at the recycling centre (tip in old money).

I have a pile of packing envelopes arriving today so my pile can start to actually leave the building. I'm terrified I'm going to send the wrong thing to the wrong person when getting labels printed on drop off but think if I write names on envelopes it'll work.

I should have said she mentioned on the call that they're going to switch to an automated system so you can turn on maintenance after your call. Will be launching in a week or so. Should make life easier!

Yes good idea!, according to a thread I read there was a spate of inpost somehow cocking up the posting and wrong items ending up being sent. I’m not sure how this works as I’ve never used inpost.

I love InPost collections@Mounjaropen . They've got a locker set in my local pub's car park and you just scan and the locker pops open. Saves watching the queue build in a shop while they rummage for my parcel (always at the bottom of the pile). Not tried a drop off at the lockers though.

Weighing in

Maintenance, jabbing with 2-week gaps

H 5’ 6”
SW 14st
CW 9st 12lbs
GW 9st 7lbs ?!! (Not sure about going that low now)
Total loss so far 4st 1lb

So after my week of what felt like borderline old habits, I have gained 4lb since last weigh-in 2 weeks ago. However, I don't think it's a 'real' 4lb if you know what I mean, there'll be water weight in the mix, and the scale claims that I've gained more muscle than fat. I'll get proper body comp done with a specialist next week to see how much muscle I really have. As the amount of muscle my scale claims I've gained is simply not realistic this quickly.

Bottom line, not worried, but will jab today, swear off UPFs completely next week, and see what happens.

@DarkForces when I have many packages, I write on the packaging of each the initials of the person, and then glue the label on top at the parcel shop, eases the mix-up panic. Also love InPost, also as it's 24/7.

@Mounjaropen I've priced my current items quite high, probably too high to sell! Selling my beautiful dress that hugged my curves in the most beautiful way as an obese woman, and I felt like a million dollars... BF is proposing I have it taken in instead as I clearly love it too much, so may do that...

Are there any drugs to cure a shopping addiction? It's getting quite bad for me to be honest! This is the first time I can fit into sample sizes and can afford clothes. Which means I am eyeing up vintage 2000s Prada classics and similar. While I can borderline afford it (Italy wasn't great for my wallet but I was very happy with what I bought), I fear it can really spiral to ridiculous fashion spend and dipping into savings and investments to buy clothes...

My mindset is 'you can wear pretty much anything right now, you look better than you ever have, and it may not last forever, so make the most of it, wear the clothes you always lusted after'. I can see both sides of the argument tbf... As an old lady I don't think I'll regret having a dream wardrobe at 40.

Coincidentally The Sunday Times is reporting a trial of inpost lockers at post offices, so we might all benefit!

I’d keep the beautiful dress and get it altered.

We’re a similar height (you’re 0.5” taller than me) and I don’t feel too light at 9st 7ish (where I am right now), personally I think getting closer to 9st might be better for my frame because I think I need the fat I’m carrying means my loose skin looks worse than it should. I’m also hopeful of my jawline under my chin making a reappearance 🤞🏻 I have a more adventurous wardrobe in my 50’s right now than in my early 40’s, so go for it! The Pradas sound fabulous 🥰

So I’m just under goal and the weight I was until my mid-30s (15 years ago). Loving fitting into the clothes I refused to throw away.

I have moved down to 10mg from a a max dose of 12. Suppression has been just as good on 10 as it was on 12, so I’ll finish this pen and move down to 7.5 next.

Struggling with the maintenance mentality though as I’ve spent the last 10 months trying to not eat very much and the previous 15 years telling myself to not eat much (but then secretly stuffing my face). I’m feeling stressed and panicked if I eat a lot at lunch and my brain is telling me to then not eat dinner as I’ll get fat. Am also worrying about coming off completely as it’s been so liberating not constantly thinking about or battling the urge to stuff my face with chocolate/cake/biscuits.

Will have to work on that one.

LindtCurves · 21/09/2025 15:07

@Claudette7934 yes im feeling the same. I feel like I can’t eat like a ‘normal person’ - 3 decent meals a day - or I’ll gain weight! But at the same time I know I was regularly eating too little on MJ (<500 cal) so I also push myself to eat more?! The result is a weird cycle of guilt where neither options feels quite right 🤣

@Mounjaropen Funny how everybody loses weight differently isn’t it? My face and shoulder area weight went first. Mum’s friends would just see a picture of my face and go ‘has Lindt lost lots of weight?’ I’m happy with every bit of me other than my tummy where all the weight seems to sit! I still have a reasonable waist but that’s the only area where there’s visible fat padding.

I think women really blossom when they hit a certain age don’t they? I remember being about 35 and newly single and thinking ‘realistically all my best years are behind me and I wasted them’. Hmmm, how wrong was I! And I keep hearing from some women that they really look and feel their most confident and happiest after 40. 40s are like 20s but with wisdom, confidence and sense of style 😇

Strangely someone I knew who's worked with Schofield had no idea about any of it. Likewise a different person who'd worked with Huw Edwards and was beyond shocked. Other names however have circulated for years to be careful around.
It's hard to nail them when everyone is moving around though. You have one bad experience on one job, but it might be a one off. You know the contract is up in a month so weight up if it's worth being seen as a problem when you're leaving soon. You leave and someone else has what they also think might be a one off on the next job that presenter does. And so on.
Until people genuinely feel safe that they aren't risking their entire career to whistle blow them I can't see anything changing, sadly.

I also worked in the industry for many years and heard many rumours, most of which turned out to be true. The one that still shocks me though is Rolf Harris. He was the perfect gentleman when I met him so to discover what he was really like was such a shock. I like to think I’m a good judge of character too 😔. Vile man.

In other news, I’m 4st 10lb down but am off on holiday for two weeks soon (🥳) so I doubt I’ll be getting my 5st klaxon any time soon!

I think focus on good, nutritious food that is protein rich to support your body and you can’t go wrong. Focusing on calories alone can lead to a slippery path of not eating what your body needs to be healthy.

Love that you too are back in your old wardrobe! Wonderful isn’t it?

“Glamorous” industries tend to have exploitation problems. Lots of eager young people trying to break in, lots of freelancing/employment instability, lots of money at the top and a veneration of talent/success for those who do break through… it’s ripe for predators.

I had a friend in the fashion industry in the late 90s and the stories she told could be pretty eye-opening. She didn’t see the worst of it (she was a design assistant, not a model), but I wasn’t at all surprised at the stories that came out about Gerald Marie a few years ago.

Morning, death jabbers!

Does anyone else find that HRT meddles with their weight loss? To be fair, I have had a bumpy ride with it: came off completely for about six months as didn't like the patches, started again but with gel, didn't get on with the gel and applied it very inconsistently, now back on patches for two weeks after the practice nurse advised me that MJ would interfere with the absorption of the oral progestogen. I cannot deny that I feel better in all sorts of ways - particularly my neck pain which was absolutely excruciating for months and which has improved so strikingly in the last two weeks that it genuinely can only be the consistent HRT. But I can feel that I am carrying extra water weight in my boobs and stomach and the scales confirm it: 3lb up (though I have also been on a very bready hen weekend that fell in the last 3 days of my MJ week!).

All I can do is keep plugging away but the little gains every now and again really bring me down.
