Welcome to thread lucky number 13!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we list old clothes on vinted, give thanks for MJ as we have had the BEST Summer in years as we are all significantly lighter.

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and our lowest stone brackets!

I’m on W42 D1 and on w2 of my first titrating down pen of 5.0mg

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 6.0lbs
GW 9st 0lb
Total loss so far 61.0 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

I’d recommend the shorts sold by skims to create the illusion of an arse. They are really magic pants. And don’t dig in either.

Second that, they are so fabulous!

Also, once you are near goal weight and do lower body exercises (heavy weights ideally), the shape does start coming back and the sagginess goes

Sadly not for me… but I live in hope of my arse making a comeback 🤣! I think the Skims recommendation was yours in the first place? Thank you for that!

A new coat and a wanky London salad? What a week 🥰

Living the high life! 😆 Also dug out a cashmere wrap dress I bought in the sale a few years back - it never fitted properly but I'd spent too much on it to admit to DH that it looked awful. Popped it on today and although it's more than a bit roomy, I've cinched it in and feel very luxurious (to work at home, alone, in my tiny not very chic home office 😂)

SerenePeer · 17/09/2025 07:51

Oh they are stunning. An investment piece surely. And you didn't go on honeymoon did you? So surely deserve a little wedding present?

It may have been 😇 They do give you a magic bum and it’s hard to tell how as there’s no padding, right?

IME it takes a little while for the skin to catch up and tighten but it gradually does. I have way less loose skin all over now. My ass is covered in stretch marks but it really isn’t that bad considering the alternative, and I moisturise it religiously. Gradual improvement certainly there. Stick with the programme 😇

Invisablepanic · 17/09/2025 10:26

@Mounjaropen and @LindtCurves just looking at Skims now, is it the core bum lifting knickers or is there a better choice to lift my saggy arse? What's the sizing like?

My arse used to be my favourite feature when I was younger, I was a bit of a JLo shape. I still think of myself in my head like that so when I look in the mirror it's a bit of a jump scare!

I am also interested to hear which pair to get!

(my bum has never been a thing of beauty but it certainly needs help now)

And @Goldleafcat i just checked my Selfridges receipt and this was the description of what I bought. Sienna is the colour and is great if you are wearing a dark fake tan - go lighter if you are pale skinned. You need to be brutal with hoiking them up (the fabric is weirdly strong) so that they sit mid thigh. These came up to just under my bra.

Hope the side effects aren’t too bad and that the water retention pisses off soon!

I am weeing for Britain, 1.5kg pissed off overnight and my ankles are becoming visible again.
Buy the shoes.

Congrats to all for new jeans and fitting into coats.
My hips have always made coat buying depressing, so I’ve managed with hoodies and umbrellas for years, not quite ready to brave trying any on for this year but maybe next.

LindtCurves · 17/09/2025 13:29

@Invisablepanic @Goldleafcat I wear this one: https://www.selfridges.com/GB/en/product/skims-seamless-sculpt-strapless-stretch-woven-body_R04304618/?gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=18713316690&gbraid=0AAAAADr4D5jAMlfu6y4iJLk8tBV_YVOIE&gclid=Cj0KCQjwuKnGBhD5ARIsAD19RsYlqoo9I8iMI5L7cwUVIawNZ0DHTsDrXF0iXb2I_pgAfGLUYmRg_Z4aAit5EALw_wcB#colour=SIENNA

The third image where it shows the bum… yes, that’s realistic, you can get your JLo back! First time I wore I almost felt my bum was unrealistically round and lifted - but there’s no padding. Just how?!

I like this model as I wear a lot of dresses and want my stomach smoothed out/ no cutting in anywhere. When I wear it my silhouette is super smooth.

Sizing - look at the charts carefully and measure yourself as it’s US sizing and a very wide range of sizes. If you’re UK size 8-12, size S will likely be fine. I bought mine in size S at size 12.

For better prices try Vinted, they regularly list brand new unused in packaging Skims for around £30.

I can tell you how as DD accidentally put my worn only once on my wedding day skims into the tumble dryer 😱 they have a special bum rounding thread woven into the fabric of the shorts – turns out it’s really only visible after they’ve been made really hot 😩

Well, I’m sorry that you’re having to buy shares in Andrex but at least the weight has gone!

I’m stalling over the shoes because it is an extravagant amount of money to spend after the expensive wedding… Currently mentally combing through my wardrobe to see what I could put on Vinted to raise the cash. I do have an AMEX offer, which gives me 10% back if I buy via Selfridges so that reduces them by at least 75 quid or so… but realistically I’m still nearly £700 short and I’d quite like them for a lunch on Friday 🤣 I’d also quite like them for my birthday present but that’s quite far away in November and in my head I probably would worn them. 10 times by then…

TBF, we did have quite a luxurious day at one of the nicest hotels in London for a few days after the wedding… And besides my very sparkly wedding ring, I did also receive a beautiful diamond bracelet from DH so I think I probably had my money‘s worth 😂

reading on catch up this was quite the journey!

as ever finding the glamour on this thread jaw dropping, my big clothing decisions are
about how wind & water proof things might be🙈

ETA cost per use is your friend here as you thought you'd wear them ten times by your birthday 😉

The other way of looking at it is that the cost is roughly 2 Mounjaro pens, so just taper off sooner and there’s your shoe money!

DarkForces · 17/09/2025 17:54

What gorgeous clothes and shoes @Mounjaropen. I bet you look stunning in them.

DarkForces · 17/09/2025 17:57

A while ago I posted about my dry mouth issues and ulcers here. Still not completely sure what is causing it but after some more dr google research I think it's burning mouth syndrome. I've given up caffeine and started drinking additional pints of water as well as rinsing my mouth after brushing (I usually let the toothpaste sink in. Dh says I'm weird then looked it up and I am right). It's finally settling. Can't brave tomatoes yet but I'm much more comfortable. Now my lower back is playing up 😱

Iwantniceclothes · 17/09/2025 19:44

Oh no! We seem to exchanging health issues! My dodgy back is largely quiet at the moment but I’ve literally just developed a mouth ulcer today (first time in a few years). Might be related to dodgy throat god only knows. I had random toothache last week which has buggered off but I did make a dentist appointment in case, decided to keep it so will see what they make of it tomorrow.

Glad your mouth is doing better though, that is interesting and must be a relief. Do you think you have to stick to that long term?

Oooh. I love a bit of vicarious shopping! I was about to urge you to buy them. Anyway it doesn’t count as spending money until you’ve tried them on and decided whether to keep them or not.

LindtCurves · 17/09/2025 22:37

So I've skipped last week's injection... Now on day 10 since last jab.

I'm really hungry for junk food! Had 2 pastries today, a proper lunch and dinner, an after lunch chocolate and coffee break, and a small bag of sweets with my dinner!

Sometimes I feel like my body just can't handle any UPFs without immediately wanting more and more. Obvs we know they contain addictive substances, but this is just plain ridiculous. I've been more relaxed about eating UPFs last 7 days or so, and today, finishing my bag of wine gums, was the first time in ages where I felt like I'd 'lost control' and 'couldn't stop eating'.

Decided I'll be brave and sit the rest of the week out, no jab, eat real, proper foods, and see how these cravings change, if they go or not. Bought a supply of decent protein rich foods. Maybe it's just a one-off weird day.

Before someone says, no, not period related 😇

Oceangrey · 18/09/2025 07:17

I also went longer without jabbing, but by mistake! I usually do it on Saturday but I completely forgot even though I was reading this thread. I only realised on Wednesday. So I did it last night, my first golden dose but found it tricky. What's the secret to not ending up with air bubbles in the syringe?

Similarly yesterday I ate an enormous almond croissant, most of a burrito, a millionaire's shortbread (free from burrito place), and then veg stew for dinner. Not totally out of control but large quantities! Hopefully appetite goes back down again now.
