Welcome to thread lucky number 13!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we list old clothes on vinted, give thanks for MJ as we have had the BEST Summer in years as we are all significantly lighter.

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and our lowest stone brackets!

I’m on W42 D1 and on w2 of my first titrating down pen of 5.0mg

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 6.0lbs
GW 9st 0lb
Total loss so far 61.0 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Happy weekend luxury death jabbers.

How are you all? Just recovered some hearing in my left ear after that massive klaxon for @caplin and @lovealongbath 🎊 Congratulations both of you!!

totally agree @iwantniceclothes - any deviation from my self-imposed weighloss timeline would have me in a panic, doubting myself and inevitably lead to a massive binge (because what was the point). Now I have this quiet confidence that if the scales are not showing exactly what I want/expect, I just need to wait a few days and watch my portion sizes/up my water intake. No panic no drama. It's amazing.

Well, apart from this week that is 🙈 Can someone please make me a sign that says: if you're feeling paranoid, shit at your job, unloved, bloated, want to eat lots and the way your husband stirs his coffee makes you murderous....you're about to get your period.

Anyway. No weight loss for me this week (see above) but I have realised I need to start replacing some Winter clothes. Tried a couple of jumpers on this morning and they were massive!

Hope you feel better this week.

I bought a new slinky Xmas party season dress this week. Slinky fitted velvet number with crystal embellishments at the neck and cuffs. And last week a fitted lace dress and some lace trousers. Not a kaftan in sight. Loving my new shape 🥰

Well being between size 16 and 14 I feel I can’t go into Zara without the staff coming up to say get out pudgy there’s nothing your size in here 😂 Horrified that Primark might be the same 😟

I definitely found loads of stuff when I was that size in Zara. Go in!

Primark changing rooms are so bad I've proactively used them to jolt me in to a health kick in the past. You go into them thinking you look not bad in the right outfit, and come out wondering who that old lady the size of the building was in the mirror.

I can’t face Primarni full stop. You are not alone.

Hi lovelies. I heard the sound of klaxons! Well done @lovealongbath and @Caplin and @PinkArt should still have a klaxon for 25% even if it's not a nice round 5st (although it will be next weigh in).

No more klaxons for me, but I do have a new NSV that @Mounjaropen will understand - I no longer need the extension strap for my p.ball! My thighs have always been enormous and they are still big by anyone's standards/in comparison with the rest of me, but I did my first p.volve class in ages today and it was obvious that the extender had to go if I wanted the thing to stay up.

Oh and I think we need to start a petition for Primark to sort out their changing rooms. I was in yesterday trying on jumpers and I swear I looked enormous, but given I'm a size 8-10 and the jumpers I was trying were all XS, I don't think I could have been. They were making me look wider than I am tall. I've decided I'm not trying on anything in there any more as it just made me feel too shite, I'll buy it and bring it home and return what doesn't fit.

🙌👏 no extension strap required was a fantastic day for me. Enjoy!

Aww how lovely family members are being complimentary. Enjoy!

I’m only just able to wear brown in my 50’s having been traumatised by the colour from my school uniform days… head to toe in ‘jobby brown’ ‘bitter chocolate’ sounds way more inviting 😂

I also cannot wear brown due to a brown school uniform. I wonder if we went to same one, there can't be that many that pick brown, surely?! You'd hope not anyway.

Well done to everyone on the spectacular losses!

Thanks @TheSlimmingPumpkin for pasting in the medical viewpoint, it all sounds very sensible.

I've officially now lost 20% of my starting weight. I haven't noticed people treating me differently but am very married so I imagine if I were out there dating there would be a big shift.

Very much enjoying the clothing situation. New grey wool NW3 trousers are on today with a smart top, black blazer and black loafers with my hair up. I feel like I'm cosplaying corporate Barbie even though this is, in fact, my normal life.

MagnoliaTreePetals · 15/09/2025 09:43

Thank you @TheSlimmingPumpkin that was a great article from Dr Yeo.

@Mounjaropen , I think our parent's attitude to HRT was formed by so much misinformation at the time. My MIL was proud that she never needed it. She saw those who needed it as somehow weaker and had 'given in'. She was a nightmare to deal with, her menopause made her positively bipolar.
My own much younger mother was on it, but kept trying to come off it every 3 years or so as she felt it was 'bad' for her, I knew within seconds of seeing her or even speaking to her that she wasn't taking it at that time. I had already spread my wings & left home but her relationship with my brother really suffered as a result.

I thank the good lord every day for the existence of HRT, and I think my family do as well.

Loving the descriptions of your new wardrobe purchases @Mounjaropen , and your delight in being able to wear them. Slinky bejewelled dresses sound stunning.

And rocking the Corporate Barbie look@Oceangrey . Fabulous.

My primary school uniform was also brown!
Tiny children, all glowing with youth, full of energy... wearing the most drab, depressing colour.
It was such a hard uniform to buy, especially as I was a very tall child, because no other schools were stupid enough to chose it. By my last year we had to get me a (brown, obviously) adult coat and my mum made me a skirt that I wore with a plain t shirt, because the lack of options in that ridiculous colour meant there literally wasn't any uniform that fitted.

jay55 · 15/09/2025 10:53

I can only face primark if it’s just after opening time and I don’t think I’ve ever risked the changing rooms. I can remember dashing in to do stocking fillers, feeling like I had blinders on to not be distracted from my mission.

ive jabbed today, went full in with 10mg rather than building back up like I’d originally planned. Hope it’s not too brutal on me. But need to get focused.

Gained loads on holiday, first kg fell off overnight. I’m still waterlogged in my legs, hoping that will melt off and leave me closer to my low shortly.

Had a period (after 60+ days without) in the middle of my break, typical, and a bad allergic reaction the second week(worst food related reaction I’ve ever had) and I think the overload of anti histamines contributed to the water retention.

Despite the gain my new smaller smalls still fit.

Oh and more than once I was sat next to a fellow death jabber at dinner, overheard lots of “no I’ll just have a main, as I want to manage the steak” type comments which was reassuring.

Invisablepanic · 15/09/2025 11:01

Also another brown uniform survivor here! I was actually thinking I might now be ready at 40 to wear brown again.

Just tried some m&s jeans on but although they fit, they don't fit well. They also highlighted how much my arse has dropped. My current mission is a decent pair for autumn. I need to hurry and find some as all I have at the moment that fits are summer dresses!

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 15/09/2025 12:10

I picked up a couple of thermal crew tops yesterday in the M&S 20% discount event. 18 degrees and I feel the chill, god knows what I will be like in a month.

PresidentBarklett · 15/09/2025 17:26

Hey guys. I've been buried in the first couple of weeks back in school so will need to read through and see what I've missed. However...

SIZE 12 KLAXON.

Not me, crying in the changing room of Hobbs. Nooo. Somebody else. Definitely not me.

20% of your starting weight is fantastic! 🙌

I think more choose brown that you realise. Unfortunately my school also made you wear Brown shoes. So everyone looked prematurely old 😂

Snorting at Cosplay corporate Barbie. I went to tennis last week in new workout gear and looked like Tennis ‘Parma violet’ Barbie thanks to my head to toe lilac outfit (Peloton sale is good value but short on boring colours) 😂

You’ll have to prize HRT out of my cold dead hands I’m afraid..but at least my kids and husband aren’t traumatised by living with me 😂 My Mother would boast about how ‘she sailed through the menopause’ - sadly not noticing the wake of broken family members behind her.

I’d recommend the shorts sold by skims to create the illusion of an arse. They are really magic pants. And don’t dig in either.

It’s been outrageous here - wind and driving rain. But I am not as grouchy as I might normally be because all the coats I’ve bought in previous sales etc (purchases that were largely ridiculously ambitious!) actually bloody well fit! A Berghaus 14, a Trespass 14, and a Weird Fish 12 (crazy sizing there). My DH dug the Berghaus and Trespass down from the attic for me last weekend (and I confess I got the Weird Fish one recently, I did try that one on at least!). I hadn’t expected them to fit at all. I’ve also got a Monsoon coat I sourced on Vinted after having to give up one in a bigger size. I’m now slightly regretful as my coat selection is mildly insane.

I’ve been too nervous to weigh myself for a bit because with this weird throat virus / potential tonsillitis (I’m really not sure anymore? I did a Covid test last weekend which was negative 🤷‍♀️) (throat is still crap but I feel less rubbish) has had me slothlike and eating comfort foods. However despite all this my body seems to have readjusted things and when I injected MJ earlier my tummy was definitely smaller.

And I’m starting to really see a difference at last in the mirror. Has shit just got real? 😂

You are definitely not my Mum because you are self-aware. Not a skill she ever possessed I’m afraid 😂

Seriously though, if you are worried and you can take HRT, then look into it. It changed my life and put me back to how I used to feel. I am very grateful for it.
