Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we list old clothes on vinted, give thanks for MJ as we have had the BEST Summer in years as we are all significantly lighter.

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and our lowest stone brackets!

I’m on W42 D1 and on w2 of my first titrating down pen of 5.0mg

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 6.0lbs
GW 9st 0lb
Total loss so far 61.0 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Just a big poo away from sounding the 5 stone klaxon now. I did hit a different milestone this week though and have lost 25% of my starting weight 🥳

Two months and three GPs later, I'm being referred for an abdominal ultrasound. Given I have no other symptoms and my bloods haven't suggested anything cancerous lurking, I think the GPs are assuming it's just a new IBS symptom, but I want to know for sure it's not anything more serious.

How rude not getting to the five stone for the weekend! 😂

Fingers crossed for your ultrasound 💐

How very dare you come along with your 5 stone klaxon sounding success 😂

Sorry 😂 But I have no doubt you will be there in the next week or two!!! Feels like I have been on the cusp of this for weeks!!!

I find Vinted tricky because of my boobs being so big, it's hard to see how things will hang even if they are the right kind of shape. I tend to buy stuff I've owned before or tried on in a shop. BUT I had a big win this week as I got wool trousers from NW3/Hobbs for £6 in a size 12 and they fit perfectly.

I've never sold anything on there although I have on eBay. eBay seems to have higher prices generally, is there any reason to go for Vinted instead as a seller, assuming the clothes are decent brands?

I also prefer eBay as a buyer because I can save complex searches and get emails if someone uploads the exact item I want. Vinted I usually use for cheap kids clothes.

those trousers sound like a bargain! 💪

I was 14'10 on the nose mid week so I thought I might just nudge it, but I always go back up a little by my official Friday weigh in. Bring on the big poo!

One other suggestion @MsRumpole . When did you last check your blood pressure? Mine is naturally low but has dropped quite a bit further since Ive lost weight. I would just suddenly feel like I was wilting, sometimes accompanied by palpitations. This has been mentioned by quite a few people on different threads.
In order to encourage my mother to check her own blood pressure, she my sister and I have all got the same machines at home and we compare them weekly. A couple of months ago mine was consistently very low, but has now come up a bit and evened out.

I think the 50+multivit' is a great idea, also perhaps some extra iron if you are run-down? Spatone is a good one, & easily digested.
Also is @PinkArt 's fruit suggestion. Like her I have found my blood-sugar-dips are a thing of the past thanks to MJ, but I keep some apples in the fridge incase I need a pick-me-up late afternoon. If you can have some fibre with your sugar you don't get such a dip afterwards, something like an apple is the perfect combo of sugar and fibre.

It’s a good idea to check the iron content in the multivitamin before adding extra iron on top though as this can cause other issues. I think the link to the times article I posted up thread detailed why?

OP posts:
jay55 · 12/09/2025 11:39

I find I can happily take iron tablets, and multivitamins but cannot take a combination without awful headaches.

Jellybaby30 · 12/09/2025 13:31

I'm still suffering, after a bad night of diarrhea and palpitations I rang the GP today and we actually had a nice little chat about MJ while discussing my symptoms. He didn't seem bothered where it may have come from and I've been down for bloods, BP and an ECP. Have to leave in a stool sample ( obv nothing to leave now after a massive clear out overnight) but it's good he was so thorough. Making clear broth and 🤞it settles. Oh and GP said he's diabetic and has MJ sitting in his fridge waiting to start.

Anyway vinted is def easy on the app once you have done it a few times and if you've some quality items @Mounjaropen you'll have your grand in no time! So long as resist purchasing on it....

Dreamqueen · 12/09/2025 13:54

Congratulations @Caplin I can hear the klaxon from here.

Checking in with my maintenance update. I'm now about week 7 on maintenance (5 weeks of having moved down to 7.5) and jabbing every 8-9 days. Going to move down to 5 for my next jab and see how that goes. Weight has mostly STS. There have been days when some not so healthy food has crept in but I've recognised it happening and enjoyed the naughty treats for the most part.

Maintenance hasn't been as scary as I had anticipated, I feel like I'm eating and drinking like a person who now knows when enough is enough and is in control of it. more gin and wine is involved than when I was losing but only moderately more.

Vinted has been fantastic for me. I've also sold quite a bit on there but have spent most of it back on there too.

Mounjaropen · 12/09/2025 09:50

Welcome!

That is still a fantastic loss even if you feel a bit meh about it? How is your diet an exercise? Do you think you drink enough water and get enough protein in?

I’m actually amazed I’ve lost so much without all the angst and desperation I’ve felt for years while trying and failing to shift anything. A big change for me is I’m in no rush anymore, I always used to think about needing to lose a certain amount before a certain date and I’ve pretty much let go of that now. That is such a relief! Though the price increase may bring that back when my stockpile runs out! Diet, exercise and water could all be better. No question about that. I’ve started a weights programme again this week and I love that even though I huuurt all over and sitting down is a challenge. Without a doubt when I feel overwhelmed and too busy or I’m trying to avoid something I’ve decided will be difficult then my eating becomes chaotic like the inside of my head. I’m trying very hard to work on this but it’s a habit I started over 50 years ago so it’s stubborn. But so am I and I think I’m finally going to make changes that hopefully stick. The exercise similarly is quick to go off the to do list when I’m feeling pushed. So it’s a strange process this! I know the jab is about hormones and all sorts of chemical stuff but it makes it easier to take a look at what’s really going on with food without feeling like I’m failing. Sorry for the ramble but it’s not the kind of thing I can talk about irl! And I think only people who have been down this road understand there’s so much more to untangle than how many calories we eat!

MagnoliaTreePetals · 12/09/2025 18:03

So so close @PinkArt , 25% of your starting weight is a fantastic achievement.

5 stone klaxon ringing loud and proud for you @Caplin , congratulations.

I agree @Iwantniceclothes , being able to express things here, things we wouldn't be able to talk about IRL, is extremely helpful. People here really understand the journeys we have been on, and are now going on.

Just back from a happy day shopping at Bicester Village with DD. Never been before. It was a fun day and I managed to get a new coat as well as some jumpers. ( I also got a new hand bag which was a bit naughty as it was definitely not on the 'now I am too slim for my old clothes, this is what I need' list)
The best bit was trying on clothes in designer shops. Knowing they would have my size was an absolute blast! They did indeed fit but I didn't buy them as they weren't quite what I was after.
The old me would have bought anything that fitted!

lovealongbath · 13/09/2025 06:26

Good morning folks!

Weekly weigh in on 4.4mg dose
week 43 + 2 days

SW 18st 4.3lbs
CW 14st 4.3lbs
half a pound loss this week
total loss so far 4 stone
I have lost 22% of my starting weight
SBMI 43
CBMI 34.3

I am 2 days late checking in as I was waiting to reach the 4 stone mark.
I feel a bit of a 🐢 in comparison to everyone else, but I’m not in a race. I am quite happy for the weight to come off slowly as long as it’s coming off.

@Iwantniceclothes I feel the same as you in respect to feeling a bizarre calm about my weight loss. I’m not stressing, there is no rush. I’m not putting myself under any pressure, whereas previously, I would have set a goal, not achieve it then felt disappointed and the self loathing would kick in.

Well done everyone, We can do this 💪

MsRumpole · 13/09/2025 09:13

Hello, fellow death jabbers!

Not sure I will have a massive loss this week if any, but I have changed my mindset a bit and decided that I am expecting MJ to do a lot of heavy lifting for me on the diet front - I definitely need to watch calorific intake carefully in the last couple of days before the next dose, and that's doable on MJ.

I've had a couple of lovely NSVs today. The first is that my BP readings were 123/78 (first reading, discarded) and then 117/75 and 106/73 which is the first time I have been comfortably in the green for absolutely donkey's years.

The second is a bit weirder but I think people here would understand. I wanted to have some breakfast with my kid (it's weird for her to have one parent who just doesn't eat breakfast, as I usually don't, and it's more obvious at the weekend). I couldn't face anything bulky so I had two slices of toast and jam, and I was completely full on it. Full! On toast and jam! I have never understood anyone who could eat two rounds of toast with jam and claim fullness (that would usually be the whole loaf gone for me). I think if I never lost another ounce on MJ it would be worth it just for that feeling of relating to food like a normal person. Know what I mean?

DarkForces · 13/09/2025 09:27

100% @MsRumpole. I also find wine fills me up. Before mj it would leave me ravenous and I need far less carbs to feel satisfied

If you’re a 🐢 I’m a 🐌!! But it doesn’t matter, I can accept it now as progress and I suppose one advantage is that I haven’t had people asking me if I’m on the jabs!
I’m still seeing loose skin though despite the slow loss but I’m 56 years old. Maybe it’ll settle eventually.
I really love seeing all these clothes victories! Clothes are a joy I feel like I haven’t had in so long - see the user name! Even when I was much thinner I didn’t have the confidence to dress myself properly. On holiday this year I wore lots of nice things! And I’m addicted to Vinted. Can’t bear to pay full price any more.
Anyway posting on here has been a good luck charm. I have been stuck at 13st or just under for a couple of months. It’s a major set point for me as I was around that weight for years - before moving up a couple of stones! My body has really wanted to sop there but today Whoosh! 3lbs down and I’m now 12st 9 and I’ve taken a year off my metabolic age. Delighted!!

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 13/09/2025 11:33

That’s a 4 stone klaxon surely @lovealongbath which is a fabulosa achievement

📣🔔📣🔔📣🔔📣🔔📣🔔 🎉🎉

I will be here for a while as well - no Nov 24er will be left behind 💪🏻. Let’s keep plodding downwards together.

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 13/09/2025 11:41

Yes @Iwantniceclothes I have been looking at set point theory as well. I think my plateaus have been around my previous set points where I spent a few years so going under 13 stone was a big push and now again I am 10 stone 11 (hovering around 11 to 10.9 - even though I had an all-inc holiday) is another previous set point where I am having to push through and it feels snail’s pace. I do wander if my body is saying that it remembers a particular weight and think that’s it’s fine but my mind now says (thanks to MJ) no I want to keep going down. I have been chunky for 30 years so it’s not surprising really that I might have some ‘comfort set points’.

Iwantniceclothes · 13/09/2025 12:08

I think that’s it exactly @TheSlimmingPumpkin, I’m expecting to see another set point at 11.5 stones. But I’ll worry about that when I get there!

evilharpy · 13/09/2025 13:38

Hi lovelies. I heard the sound of klaxons! Well done @lovealongbath and @Caplin and @PinkArt should still have a klaxon for 25% even if it's not a nice round 5st (although it will be next weigh in).

No more klaxons for me, but I do have a new NSV that @Mounjaropen will understand - I no longer need the extension strap for my p.ball! My thighs have always been enormous and they are still big by anyone's standards/in comparison with the rest of me, but I did my first p.volve class in ages today and it was obvious that the extender had to go if I wanted the thing to stay up.

Oh and I think we need to start a petition for Primark to sort out their changing rooms. I was in yesterday trying on jumpers and I swear I looked enormous, but given I'm a size 8-10 and the jumpers I was trying were all XS, I don't think I could have been. They were making me look wider than I am tall. I've decided I'm not trying on anything in there any more as it just made me feel too shite, I'll buy it and bring it home and return what doesn't fit.

PinkArt · 13/09/2025 13:55

Primark changing rooms are so bad I've proactively used them to jolt me in to a health kick in the past. You go into them thinking you look not bad in the right outfit, and come out wondering who that old lady the size of the building was in the mirror.

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 13/09/2025 14:21

Well being between size 16 and 14 I feel I can’t go into Zara without the staff coming up to say get out pudgy there’s nothing your size in here 😂 Horrified that Primark might be the same 😟

SerenePeer · 13/09/2025 15:43

Happy weekend luxury death jabbers.

How are you all? Just recovered some hearing in my left ear after that massive klaxon for @caplin and @lovealongbath 🎊 Congratulations both of you!!

totally agree @iwantniceclothes - any deviation from my self-imposed weighloss timeline would have me in a panic, doubting myself and inevitably lead to a massive binge (because what was the point). Now I have this quiet confidence that if the scales are not showing exactly what I want/expect, I just need to wait a few days and watch my portion sizes/up my water intake. No panic no drama. It's amazing.

Well, apart from this week that is 🙈 Can someone please make me a sign that says: if you're feeling paranoid, shit at your job, unloved, bloated, want to eat lots and the way your husband stirs his coffee makes you murderous....you're about to get your period.

Anyway. No weight loss for me this week (see above) but I have realised I need to start replacing some Winter clothes. Tried a couple of jumpers on this morning and they were massive!

MagnoliaTreePetals · 13/09/2025 17:37

@lovealongbath 4 stone! Woo Hoo, congratulations! Whether tortoise, snail or hare, getting there your own way is the best way to do it.

Yes @MsRumpole I know just what you mean. It's such a turnaround to find I can eat small amounts and be satisfied, or even leave food on my plate as I don't want/need any more. Just like 'normal people'.

We had a picnic on a beach today. The plan was not what I would have chosen, ie to pop into a sandwich shop on the way there. Even worse, I don't eat bread because I'm allergic to wheat. Got there & Not a salad bowl in sight, just lovely organic posh sandwiches, pork pies and sausage rolls! So I bought 2 large sandwiches and only ate the fillings! Shame to waste the bread, but needs must. That amount would never have kept me from being hungry in the past, but it was perfect.

Hurrah for a whoosh @Iwantniceclothes , well done on holding strong and being persistent despite hitting a sticking point. Maybe you its time for you to change your user name to 'I have nice clothes'!

Yup, we've all been there @SerenePeer complete mood swipe and feeling bleh to find out its just PMT. Hope you now feel on top of the world, loved & awesome, no one needs to hide all the knives any more and the family can come out of hiding!

While we were on the beach DD took a photo of me. For the first time ever I didn't think to say 'no, please don't'. She showed me the photo and I look slim! It's still a surprise each time.

MsRumpole · 13/09/2025 19:20

I also started the Couch to 10K today (for about the fourth time in ten years) AND went to the gym. I'm on a roll!

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 13/09/2025 21:28

Well done @MsRumpole 💪🏻 I start Couch to 5k course this week. I am a bit nervous but looking forward to it. I have regularly done 10k steps so hopefully that is good training.
