Welcome to thread lucky number 13!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we list old clothes on vinted, give thanks for MJ as we have had the BEST Summer in years as we are all significantly lighter.

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and our lowest stone brackets!

I’m on W42 D1 and on w2 of my first titrating down pen of 5.0mg

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 6.0lbs
GW 9st 0lb
Total loss so far 61.0 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

I'd never used vinted before this summer and get a real kick from it. I've bought myself some bits ( mechanic jumpsuit, lovely knit winter skirts) but now I'm planning on using current balance and what I get the next few months and using it for some treats for us and the 3 DC over Xmas for a few meals /coffees etc

MagnoliaTreePetals · 11/09/2025 10:39

I think it's called a snackcident @random223! Congratulations on getting that new number on the scales.

I have also found that losing weight with MJ has given me time to reflect and try to come to grips with why I eat at times that I don't need to. @Iwantniceclothes on previous diets I have been constantly battling mentally just to stay on the programme. This has really freed me to hopefully come to terms with a lot of my emotional baggage that impacts on what/when I eat/drink.

Gosh, poor you @Jellybaby30 . getting your 5 stone achievement and a new number on the scales is wonderful but you are paying a bit of a price for it.

I am now spreading out the doses because I am aiming to maintain. I can feel that there is still some in me on days 7/8/9 but it is lighter. Also, I get less of a kick back now when I inject, because there is less of an overlap between the last dose and the next one.
So I think you could indeed leave it a couple of days for your symptoms to settle and then do the next injection at your chosen dose.. Hope you feel better soon.

MsRumpole · 11/09/2025 10:56

I'm wondering if MJ has made my blood sugar very low. My appetite is very suppressed but at least once a day I find myself craving sugar - as in four or five boiled sweets or Haribo, which isn't very like me.

I've also had a cold for a few weeks which is very unlike me and leaves me wondering if I am just not getting enough nutrients.

I've added a 50+ multivitamin to my day and an extra protein drink and will report back but I suspect I really need to make myself eat about 1500 calories a day to maintain sufficient energy levels to thrive. I don't know that the whooshes are worth the slumps...

Good advice thanks. I 100% agree, normally on diets it's so hard to keep your head in the game whereas with MJ we have the time to think about our lifestyle going forward and entering long term maintenance 🤞

I've had the opposite as my blood sugar used to tank in the late afternoon/ evening and it's much more stable now. The best way to not faint on the tube home was to eat a bit of fruit at 4ish - it was enough of a sugar boost to get me home and something cooked before things went horribly wrong.

MagnoliaTreePetals · 11/09/2025 14:20

One other suggestion @MsRumpole . When did you last check your blood pressure? Mine is naturally low but has dropped quite a bit further since Ive lost weight. I would just suddenly feel like I was wilting, sometimes accompanied by palpitations. This has been mentioned by quite a few people on different threads.
In order to encourage my mother to check her own blood pressure, she my sister and I have all got the same machines at home and we compare them weekly. A couple of months ago mine was consistently very low, but has now come up a bit and evened out.

I think the 50+multivit' is a great idea, also perhaps some extra iron if you are run-down? Spatone is a good one, & easily digested.
Also is @PinkArt 's fruit suggestion. Like her I have found my blood-sugar-dips are a thing of the past thanks to MJ, but I keep some apples in the fridge incase I need a pick-me-up late afternoon. If you can have some fibre with your sugar you don't get such a dip afterwards, something like an apple is the perfect combo of sugar and fibre.

I haven't checked my blood pressure for ages, actually. I'll do it tomorrow morning!

Well done @Iwantniceclothes on your weight loss! Really pleased for you. I remember starting in November and thinking it would be an absolute miracle if I lost a stone as was struggling to lose any weight at all on my own and just kept getting bigger. This thread has been so helpful.

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 11/09/2025 17:21

@MsRumpole i take a daily 50+ multivitamin just in case. Doesn’t do any harm.

As @MagnoliaTreePetals I have an afternoon apple or two

Same as @random223 i thought I would be winning if a lost a stone or two. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would achieve 5 stone which a plan to make it six sometime in November. Having a supportive and educational thread with no Jealous Julies (sorry if anyone is Julie irl) has really helped.

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 11/09/2025 17:35

And how do you spot an MJ user on Vinted? Well she is the one who puts the same thing up in sizes 18, 16 and 14 😂

Though in my defence I am now getting stuff from different stores now. I just liked the M&S lyocell cargo trousers for gardening as it has lots of pockets for string, phone, secateurs.

Oceangrey · 12/09/2025 07:00

I find Vinted tricky because of my boobs being so big, it's hard to see how things will hang even if they are the right kind of shape. I tend to buy stuff I've owned before or tried on in a shop. BUT I had a big win this week as I got wool trousers from NW3/Hobbs for £6 in a size 12 and they fit perfectly.

I've never sold anything on there although I have on eBay. eBay seems to have higher prices generally, is there any reason to go for Vinted instead as a seller, assuming the clothes are decent brands?

I also prefer eBay as a buyer because I can save complex searches and get emails if someone uploads the exact item I want. Vinted I usually use for cheap kids clothes.

Weigh-in day!

SW: 93kg (14st 6)
CW: 67.2kg (10st 6)
GW: 63.5kg (10st)

Definitely closing in on goal now. I have ordered next month’s pen and scheduled my maintenance call. A new phase awaits!

I really hope I don’t have to confirm my height every time I order a maintenance dose. This time I ignored the plea for photo evidence as I’ve uploaded proof more than once already. It’s not like my height is changing as my weight goes down. 😂

I am so enjoying getting into clothes again. I love fashion but my up-down weight cycles have quite an impact on both how into it I am, and how much I feel I can “invest” in pieces when I fear I won’t be able to wear them for a few years at a time - what size to get them in, etc. I am hesitant to go too mad just yet, but I am hankering to replace my very worn leather jacket from around 15 years ago. I’d like something very buttery-soft with simple lines, and I notice the 90s-style racer jackets are back. Tempting, but I also have a young person heading off to uni so there’s only so much I can spend on myself these days!

Well done! Keep going!

Spend the money on yourself for once, or reduce the amount you spend on the YP going off to Uni on stuff that they will inevitably break/lose ;-)

Accidentally (!) ate four doughnuts yesterday. First massive willpower fail since November. Weighed in this morning for first time at 9 st 13. Madness!!

Ahh a snaccident. How did you feel afterwards? Was it worth the calories?

DH was away last night and I cba to cook and I passed a traditional fish and chip shop in the afternoon that I would frequent in the BMJ days...(before Mounjaro)and I really fancied a bag of chip shop chips with S&V. So I looked up the calories (595) and decided that having played a full tennis match earlier, I could. I really enjoyed them. HOWEVER... they acted in the same way as the now-famous Asda chocolate muffins... And I still weighed the same this morning despite having completely cleared the contents of my colon 😂

Hi all, I lurk on this thread a lot and you’re all so encouraging in what you’ve achieved! It’s just fabulous! I’ve actually been on the death jabs a year already but I think I’m what’s called a low responder.
SW 15st 6lbs
CW 12st 13lbs
I’m on 10mg and unfortunately get a fair few side effects but less benefit. It still works though.
I’m kind of ok with the slow loss. It’s much, much more than I’ve achieved by myself and it’s given me space to think about all the times I eat that have nothing to do with hunger. That’s the main reason I’m fat really, regulating myself through the day.
Anyway I just wanted to say thank you for your really positive thread, it encourages me to keep going when it looks like nothing much is happening!

Welcome!

That is still a fantastic loss even if you feel a bit meh about it? How is your diet an exercise? Do you think you drink enough water and get enough protein in?

I'm still suffering from a couple of days of diarrhea, it's a less triumphant 5 stone loss achieved than I'd hoped for as not how I'd want to achieve it but anyway I started at 18 St 13 and currently 13 St 12. 12lb ish to go to goaal which seems v unreal. I jabbed 11mg on Sunday and boy do I regret it, though had been a slow increase from 10, so I'm thinking I'll wait a few extra days if necessary and then jab? 7.5 or maybe 8 to let my body recover. I think it has been MJ related because of the awful sulphur smell and burps. Today I'll be on existing on dioralyte and maybe some plain rice.
Re vinted I get such a thrill, esp selling nicer bits. @Mounjaropen when you upload pics and description they show you what other sellers have sold the same items for. I've even been selling coffee pots and unwanted gifts eg wallet, bracelet

Edited

Woohoo! Congratulations on earning the 5stone badge/sash/tiara!

Doesn't matter how you get there, it's still a fab achievement!

Thanks for the VInted tips. I used to sell on eBay, but it's such a faff.

So with the glut of tomatoes from the greenhouse we are having tomato and red lentil soup for lunch. I have already loaded the freezer with passata sauce for autumn/winter soups/stews/chilli/pasta dishes.

My couch 2 5k course starts next week but I went for a short, and I mean short, jog this morning. Hopped on the scales and I have lost all of the holiday gain which means I can get back on track even though I was at a gardening book launch last night quaffing the fizz & gin cocktails 🤭

I am will be taking the 5th dose of 10mg on Monday. I guess depending how much is left in the pen it maybe a bit more than 10.

Just a big poo away from sounding the 5 stone klaxon now. I did hit a different milestone this week though and have lost 25% of my starting weight 🥳

Two months and three GPs later, I'm being referred for an abdominal ultrasound. Given I have no other symptoms and my bloods haven't suggested anything cancerous lurking, I think the GPs are assuming it's just a new IBS symptom, but I want to know for sure it's not anything more serious.

Caplin · 12/09/2025 10:47

Ahhhhhhh!!! Sound the klaxon!! I finally have now officially lost over 5 stone!!!! I kind of hit it last week but it wasn’t my official weigh in day and it popped back up. But this week it is official!!!!

starting to reconsider my goal weight. My original goal just felt so far away and unobtainable, but it still put me in the overweight BMI category. Now aiming for a healthy BMI weight actually is starting to feel doable! At the rate I’m losing it could take another 6 months, but that is fine, I’m not in a rush and quite enjoying my new smaller size!

Woohooo Caplin and PinkArt, brilliant stuff!!

Im on my way home from holidays, rainy weather meant I drank more than anticipated. I ate three meals most days (sometimes a meal was subbed with ice cream) but didn’t have much food noise which was amazing and would stop when full most of the time without thought.

Which some nights meant leaving 90% of dinner and I didn’t worry about looking like an arse for doing so.

Not looking forward to the scales, I did stick to fizz rather than cocktails most the time and walked a lot. But my legs are super swollen and my ankles look like water balloons.

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 12/09/2025 11:08

Congrats @Caplin klaxon now ringing
