Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we list old clothes on vinted, give thanks for MJ as we have had the BEST Summer in years as we are all significantly lighter.

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and our lowest stone brackets!

I’m on W42 D1 and on w2 of my first titrating down pen of 5.0mg

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 6.0lbs
GW 9st 0lb
Total loss so far 61.0 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

A peal of double klaxons ringing for @SerenePeer What a fantastic duo of achievements. 4 stone is phenomenal, and a new number on the scales gives a wonderful feeling. Hooray and well done.
Really sorry to hear about your impending visit to the dentist, I think that sort of thing deserves a bravery award, providing you don't bite the dentist by mistake!

Goldleafcat · 03/09/2025 07:45

Gets the stepladder and takes down two shiny gold klaxons for @SerenePeer ! 🎉 Congrats that’s awesome!

Good luck with the dentist, thinking of you.

I have a root canal which has failed and needs sorting at some point (minor abscess situation), it’s not hurting at the moment so I’m sticking my head in the sand!

All the best.

Thanks @goldleafcat the tooth fairy godmother was looking out for me today and nobbled the computers, so they had to cancel my appointment at the last minute!! I wanted to hug the reception when she told me!

Of course, it's just delaying the work but I really didn't have time to sit and have pain inflicted on me for 50 minutes this morning!

But do get that absess seen soon @goldleafcat - teeth have a terrible habit of getting worse at the most inconvenient times (bank holidays, Sundays etc etc)

SerenePeer · 03/09/2025 09:11

@magnoliatreepetals that did make me chuckle 😃 I wonder if it's a common fear of dentists, being bitten by patients? 😂

Weighing in day...

SW16.5
CW 11.2
TWL 5st 3lb
BMI 23.7

Week 1 of aiming to maintain.
still on 12.5mg, but dosage was 8 days apart.
Lost 1lb, despite eating out 3 times and life getting in the way of some of my planned exercise.
The next dose will be 9 days apart.

I was/am quite nervy about spreading out the doses as I definitely feel the MJ lightening on day 6/7 onwards. However having lost a lb gives me the confidence to stick with the plan and continue to spread the doses further apart.
We are hoping to go on holiday in a couple of weeks, so being a few lb's below my chosen target is nice, as it will give me a small cushion to relax and enjoy some treats if I want.

Off now to catch up on some exercise!
Happy Jabbing everyone!

Checking in to report on how maintenance is going. I've titrated down to 7.5 and going 8 days between jabs. I'm on week 3 of 7.5 and it's going ok. I'm eating a bit more and actually look forward to mealtimes now. I'm eating breakfast and dinner but trying to skip lunch, weight is fairly stable. Last weigh in was 8st 2 lbs.

How fantastic! we all need to hear everyone’s success’ post MJ 🥰

Good morning folks!

Weekly weigh in on 4.4mg dose
week 42
SW 18st 4.3lbs
CW 14st 4.8lbs
2.5lb loss this week
total loss so far 3 stone 13.5lbs
I have lost 22% of my starting weight
SBMI 43
CBMI 34.4
steps are way down this week 57845, 😩

Had an unexpected phone call from my Dr Surgery nurse practitioner.
She explained that she was phoning to discuss how I was getting on with MJ and if taking it was affecting how my other meds are working. HRT and Thyroxine. She suggested that my meds may need reviewed as evidence is suggesting that the higher the dose of MJ you are taking, you may need to up the dose of other meds too.
I confessed that I was not taking it as recommended as I have been micro dosing and although on week 41, I still had not reached the 5mg dose yet, and as I am increasing my MJ dose by 0.1mg a fortnight it would be another 12 weeks before I was taking 5mg.
She didn’t comment on me micro dosing, but praised me for the weight loss and suggested that no need to review my meds just yet and keep up the good work.

Well done for everyone who has achieved a Klaxon this week.
We can do this 💪

My step count is likely to go down this week given that DH seems to have broken the treadmill this morning…😩😭

😂 have you ever read the post on a classic thread where it was ‘embarrassing things you’ve done’ and a poster admitted that once at the dentist when the dentist had his finger in her mouth he said ’ suction’ and she thought he was talking to her so she sucked his finger. She said she didn’t know who was more surprised 😂😂😂 still makes me laugh now.

Oh no! When I had a full smile makeover during lockdown I had to have 3 root canals in 48 hours… the first one set off another tooth and when trying to diagnose the second offending tooth the dentist couldn’t be sure which tooth was playing up so did both as a precaution. It was pretty awful so I do sympathise. I only got relief by holding water in my mouth, and for some reason I didn’t think about spitting it out and swallowed it…so by the time I got to the dentist and sat in the chair, I had to keep going to the loo every 5 mins 😂

Oooh love an avocado on toast @BlueWalker

Who has the key for the klaxon cupboard? I need 2 down from the shelf today!! 🎊

New stone bracket - now into the 10 stone one whoop whoop!

AND 4 stone lost klaxon!!

I would be more excited but I have the dentist in a hour to have some work done and I'm not looking forward to it at all. I have a broken tooth (old root canal weakened the tooth) and it's being rebuilt today 😭 Sending brave girl vibes please.

Huge congratulations! A double Klaxon day! 🥳🥳

I love an avocado toast, @BlueWalker. It’s the avo-chilli-lime combo that gets me - not sure I even need the egg.

This week I am, er, “inspired” by my cholesterol level and am eating mostly plants. I’ve decided to try the “30 plants a week” thing and so far am smashing it - probably because even peppercorns count as a plant point as long as you only count it once! It’s made me feel accomplished. No idea if will do anything for my cholesterol, but it makes me feel like I’m doing something.

Ooh I love a 30 plants a week menu plan. My fave salad at the moment is one inspired by my big fat Greek holiday and involves charred baby courgettes. Pink grapefruit, rocket with crumbled white Stilton infused with mango and ginger crumbled over the top. It’s delish.

I went out for food today with work colleagues. Had the most hipster, bougie lunch I think I have ever had - smashed avocado with poached egg, salad-y stuff and bits and chilli flakes on sourdough. It was under 500 cals and absolutely delicious, also looked so pretty millennials would have taken a picture but my Gen X self didn't even think about it. But it is so much easier these days to go out for food on the spur of the moment and still make (and more importantly be drawn to) 'healthier' choices. Go me and my death jab brain chemistry rewiring.

Love an avocado on toast! I like the addition of smoked salmon or grilled bacon on top 🥰

Oh my goodness @kentishmama you'll be swooshing down the slopes, a whisp of a thing in a skin tight ski suit looking like a Bond girl at this rate!

And another new stone klaxon for @random123 🔔💃 How fabulous to be in the nines! I can't remember ever being a 9 so it must have been before I was even aware of my weight! 😳 Well done!

Still keeping side affects at arms length thankfully and the unexpected potatoes from yesterday didn't haunt me thankfully. Appetite suppression is off the chart though. I grabbed a pot of greek yogurt at 2pm today when I realised it had been over 24 hours since the potatoes and only notices at 5pm that I only had half of it 😳 Forced down a banana just to get some nutrition in me, as well as some berries but I still have no desire to eat anything at all. Weigh in this week will be interesting!

In positive news, I had a face to face meeting with colleagues today who haven't seen me in person since February and their reaction was textbook 😆 All women, similar age (40s and 50s) "omg you're disappearing! You look amazing! What's your secret?". Managed to fob them off by telling them I was using a treadmill under my desk and had stopped eating after 7pm. Thankfully one of them commented that she thought I sometimes sounded breathless on calls so that must be why! 😳

Good lord, I now have a vision of you being some sort of breathy Marilyn Munroe siren at work 😂

Glad the potato incident passed you by!

@Mounjaropen Great advice - thank you for your time.

@RayonSunrise I went with a fairly reasonably priced one from Amazon with lots of good reviews. Arrives tomorrow- I’ll let you know how it performs (probably better than me!!)

Just 1lb from having a 9 at the beginning. July 2022 was 15 stone 10 and at 5’2’’ in thick socks I was morbidly obese. Started with you all last November at 14.6. Hopefully the new walking pad will help, especially over the winter 🤞

1lb to go until the 9’s is fantastic! Well done you!

Ha - I don’t think I’ve weighed under 10 stone or worn anything smaller than a medium since I was a child! That’s being tall, I guess.

I am down to 68.5kg today (10 stone 7), so getting close to my goal of 63kg (10 stone). Upping my weights & running as my dose drops back to 7.5mg. I don’t mind losing this last bit slowly while I bake in my maintenance habits.

Keep going, 7lbs to go is an amazing achievement 💪

Sneaky peak OMG - it starts with a 9 !!

9st 13.8 but still 😀
I won't claim it until I see it at my weekend weigh-in as have been hoovering around 10 stone for several weeks.
The last time I weighed under 10 stone was in the early 90s.
Only one dose of MJ left in the fridge though so hope I can get a pen this week.

🥳🥳🥳 welcome to the 9’s! It’s not Disneyland that’s the happiest place on earth, it’s here 😂

I've had a bit of a weird week. Firstly, having taken the same 7.5mg maintenance dose on Sunday that I've been on for 12 weeks now, same time, same way, I had a really nauseous day on Monday - worst yet on MJ. No other odd things going on to suggest sickness bug or something. Still a bit funny on Tuesday, OK yesterday although super hungry (had done lots of exercise though) and today hungry too. Feels like everything is having a funny wobble, but we'll see what happens next week.

Couple of lovely NSVs though:

Had a blood test as part of annual hypertension review and lots of stats, particularly cholesterol, much improved since before MJ. Now below statins level. Red blood cells looking a bit low which mirrors low haemoglobin picked up when last went to give blood, so I might need to start supplementing iron.

Treated myself to a new Garmin watch for my birthday and since my exercise is up again. It's now collected enough data to tell me my fitness age is 49 - 4yrs younger than I actually am - soooo happy with that. It has set me a target of getting to 46 and BMI 21.8 which is where I set my target before - welcome extra encouragement to stick where I am.

Sorry to hear that you’re feeling under the weather! But those health improvements are fantastic aren’t they? Congratulations 🥳

I think I’m correct in saying that iron is more easily absorbed if you take with vitamin C at the same time? And don’t forget to make sure that your fibre intake is sufficient as it does have the added side-effect of constipation.😩
