Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we list old clothes on vinted, give thanks for MJ as we have had the BEST Summer in years as we are all significantly lighter.

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones, maintenance and our lowest stone brackets!

I’m on W42 D1 and on w2 of my first titrating down pen of 5.0mg

F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 9st 6.0lbs
GW 9st 0lb
Total loss so far 61.0 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Sounding the klaxon for @Caplin 's new stone bracket, what a joy to see that new number. 👏👏

Cantbesure · 29/08/2025 14:34

@DarkForces wow you are so close to your goal weight. That’s a fabulous achievement. I love the visceral fat measurement too. I’ve gone from 12 to 5 and can only imagine the damage I was doing to my internal organs with all that fat.

DarkForces · 29/08/2025 15:33

Amazing result @Cantbesure. Congratulations 🥂

Have done a summary / copied the best bits!

Basically, topical solutions. Topical versions of the salmon-sperm injectable, polydeoxyribonucleotide treatments.

Topical PDRN will never have the same potency as injectables, as it can’t reach the same depth in the skin. And, while there’s promising data on injectable PDRN for wound repair, the same can’t yet be said for topical versions aimed at general skincare concerns. So, by all means add it to your routine if your budget allows, but if you’re dealing with a specific concern, a consultation with an expert and a focus on evidence-based actives such as retinoids, vitamin C, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid might be the more effective route.

Medicube PDRN Pink Peptide Serum, £18
With over 1,000 five-star ratings on Amazon, this serum is designed to enhance skin elasticity and boost resilience.

Anua PDRN Hyaluronic Acid Capsule 100 Serum, £20
The number one PDRN serum in Korea, Anua is now making waves in the UK as an alternative to fish-sperm injectables.

Heveblue Salmon Caring Centella Cream, £25.90
Teaming salmon roe with centella and antioxidants, this cream helps dial down redness and restore the skin barrier.

VT - PDRN Reedle Shot 100, £42
Featuring plant-based PDRN, this uses tiny needle-like spicules of silica for better penetration of key ingredients. Next-gen skincare.

So helpful, thank you. Yeah, I did some yoga and took a walk to cool down afterwards but didn't do a warm up, just impulsively started so this is all on me! Lesson learned.

Still hurts a bit today but much looser and not unbearable anymore - kind of to the level I've experienced before. Thank God!

Well that’s positive, hope the recovery continues!

Goodness! It all sounds a bit intense….!

You are definitely not alone @BobberleeBeaner . Over the past month or so I have been thinking more carefully about my deep rooted issues with food and how the way I was taught to perceive myself as always overweight, and therefore 'not good enough', resulted in me emotionally self medicating with food for 35 years.
I do have a very close relationship with my mother, and I love her dearly, but her constantly putting me on diets and chiding me since I was 9 must have had a huge impact on my psyche. When I was aged 14 She even took me to a hypnotherapist so he could hypnotise me into avoiding food!
I am sure a lot of this came from her mother who put pressure on her to do all this.
Last week, we were chatting and she was genuinely and kindly saying how well I was looking. Then she said 'of course I have never put pressure on you to lose weight, nor criticised you when you were overweight'.
I had a split second decision; do I say 'What the Feck, how can you possible say that!' or do I just laugh at her 80 year old revisionist brain and move on.
I chose the latter of course. We have a lovely loving relationship and I'm not going to risk losing that over something she has forgotten about and cannot possibly change.

However, I need to change my ways mentally, and to do that I think it is good to come to terms with how I was treated when I was younger. There is no point being bitter, blaming her, blaming myself or anyone else, I think it's a case of understanding, acceptance, developing new coping strategies and moving on. Easier said than done, but the future is more important than the past.

Well, that's my daily therapy done for the day!🙂
Happy Friday everyone.😀

You sound a far better person than I am… but then again I grew up with a narcissist for a mother and they literally rewrite history to suit them even if it happened just five minutes ago 😂

@PresidentBarklett glad to hear you can move again today. My body strength is really lacking and I know it’s something I need to work on. I’m doing great with my running, just booked on to another 10K, but need to build in some decent strength training. I’m doing planks and knee push ups every day. Today I managed 6 normal push ups, but I can’t go all the way to the floor unless I’m on my knees.

check in for me - tomorrow is 10 weeks off MJ. My weight and scale measurements are exactly the same today as they were the day of my last jab. I have gone up and down a bit but I have definitely maintained. BMI 22.9; muscle rate 68.8%; fat 26.7%. My focus is to stay this weight and improve my muscle:fat. When I look at my fat percentage at the start of this journey it was 36.5%.

So it’s only been 10 weeks but so far I can say we can maintain off the jabs.

That is amazing! And so positive for the rest of us. Thank you for sharing and good luck with your run! 🥰

@MagnoliaTreePetals is also a better person than I am as my mother saying something like that would have triggered three days of war 😆

My relationship with my mum was complicated but in fairness she never gave me a hard time about my weight during childhood. She was overweight herself. However, when she lost capacity, moved into a home and lost a vast amount of weight due to appetite issues and being on a healthy diet for the first time ever, she suddenly started pushing me to lose weight and going on about how thin she was, so I suspect it was less a principled parenting decision than it was a sensible realisation that she had no credibility whilst still obese herself...

This month's contact with my consultant was by email, just to give him a sit' rep' and order the next pen, but next month I will have a telephone consultation again and am going to ask him exactly this.
At the moment spreading out the pen gradually will take me to 35 days, which I am not fussed about.
But aiming for an eventual gap of 2 weeks is a whole different ball-game.
I will of course report back.

Thank you for sharing, much appreciated 🥰

Oh Goodness, poor you. I hope you are feeling a bit more back to normal.

When I started this journey and wanted some gentle weight exercises I googled 'weight exercises for elderly people'. I am only mid 50's!
I found a lovely exercise lady on Youtube and started there. It was a good gentle way to get into a daily habit. My weights are now heavier, reps have increased and the exercises are more challenging, but it was a good place for me to start.

I think this is really sensible. Generally speaking any good instructor Will suggest that you start the exercises with no weight but concentrate on your form and then gradually increase. It definitely works for me. I only generally move up a weight when I can easily complete the class with the dumbbells I’m using. You need to get to muscle failure in order to lay down new muscle fibres. By muscle failure, I mean you can’t do another rep without losing your form completely.

And the ‘recollections may differ’ could also apply. It’s very possible that a comment made nearly fifty years ago was made with a positive intention but was interpreted by my teenage brain as criticism. Either way, like you @MagnoliaTreePetals I had a good relationship with my late mum. Her upbringing was extremely tough, money was very tight and her ambitions thwarted by a need to contribute to the household. She was flawed but no more or less than me. My Friday therapy done, too!!
Off for lunch with some old pals today- haven’t seen them for several months so they might notice a difference 😉. Happy weekend everyone.

Hope you had a fab lunch!

Weighing in.

W43D7
SW: 19st 9lbs
CW:14st 11lbs
1st GW: 17st 13lbs
2nd GW 15st 4lbs
3rd GW: 13st 9lbs
TL: 4st 12lb

Another two pounds off and hoping that I might hit 5 stone off my next week, with a fair wind and a big poo.

My tummy pains are still there. Still not especially painful but still not fucking off. One of the poo tests is back and it's not bowel cancer, which is reassuring as I always have the fear that I've got it. Waiting for the second one that's testing for chrones and then I'll be heading back to the GP again to see if anyone knows what it actually is.

Sorry to hear you still got your tummy troubles, but glad at least one of the tests is not the worst result. Congratulations on another great loss for the week – that’s fantastic! 💪

Happy Friday all! Many reasons to be cheerful! Medexpress finally released one of my orders, so at least I have one more pen at the lower price, although looks like the price rises won’t be as bad. I might still move to Wegovy after Christmas, but will see how bad the rise is.

After a plateau since end of June, I finally dropped 2 lbs today and finally crept into the 13st bracket at 13st 13.75lbs, I’ll take it!! One more pound to reach 5st loss, so I’m really trying to focus this week!!! At least I’m back in a routine with the kids back at school.

Starting to think about my goal, which at my current slow rate is still a way off. I might readjust it to below 12st, but will see how I look and judge by my clothes and face.

SW: 18st 12.75lbs
CW: 13st 13.75lbs
GW: 12st 7lbs

🥳 new stone bracket! Excellent! Glad you’ve got one pen in the bag too 🙌

@PinkArt that’s good news. Fingers crossed they get to the bottom of it soon. I’m going for my 4th blood test in a couple of weeks! My white blood cell count is still above the normal range but has started to come down. I still get stomach pains if I don’t take omeprazole but I don’t know why.

Fingers crossed the drs get to the bottom of your situation too.. 💐

On the workout question, I just search Dumbbell Workout on YouTube and there are loads. I did a bodypump class recently after not exercising a while and was in extreme pain for about 4 days after so am very sympathetic!

When the doctor asked me why I thought my mother had dementia, I told him quite firmly that she had never been nice in her life and suddenly trying to be very kind 😆

This reminds me of a conversation my sister and I had in the car on the way back from a recent trip to see our parents.

"I'm worried about Dad... he's..."
"Not so much of an arsehole anymore?"
"Yeah, right!? He's being nice!"
"What did Mum say?"
"I think she's just taking it as a win?"

And so on.
