I don’t know the legality but if Lilly can tell them not to sell more than one pen per customer (although think this hasn’t been verified) then can the commercial terms also put a limit on the kind of offers/discounts the pharmacies are allowed to put out and this could be a way around it.

I think the only one that’s said this has been the one that’s cancelled orders, no? They seem to have oversold their stock and now can’t get enough in. I contacted Oushk and they’ve confirmed that all orders will be fulfilled as placed, no mention of Lilly limiting supplies.

I commented on a now deleted post about why the NHS having the protected list price is actually a good thing, even if it stings for us. One woman was so angry she messaged me personally, started ranting about “boat people” and said people like me supporting the price changes would be what drives her to suicide. I just blocked her but it’s scared me off the group for now I think. They’ve all gone a bit too hysterical for my liking

Ive had that before too. I have blocked so many of them as they are so fucking evangelical. I can't use circle as they can't be blocked on there.

Doggymummar · 17/08/2025 09:01

ThatCyanSheep · 16/08/2025 23:34

They can that!

I was in the original Oushk group and pretty much every other Mounjaro group there was. Not sure why they all started being taken down?! But I’m only in the two Oushk ones now. They’ve all gone a bit hysterical so I’m steering well clear. I can’t cope with all the goodbye letters that are being posted, and the absolute refusal to listen to the facts of the matter. It’s done my nut in!

Ive not seen those. Must be posted by the ones I've blocked. Nutters

ThatCyanSheep · 17/08/2025 09:02

I’m on the circle but purely because it seems that updates are being posted there before the Facebook group, and the emails aren’t reliable.

They’ve all gone off their nut and if I was hira id be taking notes of their names and wondering whether they’re stable enough to be on the stuff in the first place!

gimmemounjaro · 17/08/2025 09:05

What are the goodbye letters? Who is saying goodbye to who? I am not with Oushk but have been tempted just for the entertainment value of the FB group 🤓

I’ve seen quite a few people posting their before and after pictures with long posts about how gutted they are to be coming off, basically saying goodbye to Mounjaro

Thanks for setting this up - I didn’t want to post much on the other thread.

What are everyone’s plans to be able to keep going?

I’ve been side hustling to pay for my current jabs, so I guess I’ll have to up my efforts! Happy to share what I’ve been doing if it helps anyone.

Anyone know how much the prices are going up by?

Ive saved a lot of money on food a) by not eating as much but b) becoming a food waste hero for Olio.

I always fancied being a FWH but couldn't trust myself to be around all that food - if I was left with a tonne of pastries or whatever I'd have eaten them.

I started MJ on the 9th April and started collecting for Olio on 14th April.

I get to keep 10% of the items I collect and then if anything is leftover uncollected then I can do what is needed to deal with that (keep it, pass on to friends, pass on to community fridge or foodbank etc - obviously this does depend on the condition of the food and can't pass on expired Use By items).

Anyway, it does mean that I'm left with random oddments and I tend to make soups a lot which cuts a load of cost from my food budget which can be redirected towards MJ costs.

It's a lot of work but I really enjoy it and I've developed a really good band of regular requesters so im pretty good at distributing the majority of the food so im not left with tonnes and it helps other people in the process which I love. :)

CoverMeInMarmalade · 17/08/2025 09:15

So if you order 7.5mg in August and it’s delivered in August, you pay the pre September price of £169, and then you’re credited £70 which you can use in September to bring the cost of the next pen in line with the old price. A discount to encourage people to order again at least once.

Ah! I read this as being, if you order in August and they cannot deliver in August you will have to pay the new prices, but you'll get the difference as a credit so it's a bit like you got it at the old price. But admittedly, because the old and member prices don't appeal hugely, I haven't looked into it very deeply.

KrankyKumquat · 17/08/2025 09:15

@ThatCyanSheep
I left the FB group some months ago and have no regrets. The Circle group is a bit better, for accessing general info, but why do some people think we enjoy seeing photos of their dinner, and need a couple of inspirational quotes every morning? It's like FB from 10 years ago.

markyb123 · 17/08/2025 09:16

I've cancelled my stalled mounjaro order with med express and asked them to switch me to Wegovy 0.5. I hope they can as I tolerate well and am on track with no issues. If they insist on the starter dose then chest la vie. Life goes on.

I decided to switch as it means I can just get on with things and not have to worry too much. Easier to make a decision and go from there. Of course, I totally get anyone who wants to stick on mounjaro and is anxious about it.

PS. it is a bit of a shitshow tho isn't it :(

I just can’t get behind the constant sharing of progress photos 😬 I have taken them and I’m proud of them but they’re not something I’d put on Facebook to a group of strangers! It’s all just a little odd to me

CoverMeInMarmalade · 17/08/2025 09:19

And yes, the Oushk fb page is bonkers at times. I lurk because occasionally you get some news there (like in recent days) but otherwise try to ignore all the member posts. I think because Hira comes across as being quite sweet and is very pretty, some people have kind of latched onto her as a hero. Personally, I don't know why she keeps going with the fb page - it always seems like such hassle.

As someone upthread said, the pharmacy itself is pretty good (recent inspection aside). You can order in advance, choose your own delivery date and change it as you want, choose from Royal Mail or DPD and they've always been pretty good at answering any of my emails etc. They may be a bit green, but they seem keen to constantly improve.

I'd like to stay with them but if MMP is going to be very much cheaper, that may trigger me to jump.

The only thing that concerns me with MMP rushing to announce the (so far) cheapest prices is that people will flock to them. Aren’t they the ones having issues now and saying about one pen per customer? I’m going to wait and see how it all plays out, stick with Oushk for now and consider a switch when everything has calmed down

@markyb123
Let us know how you find it. I'm maintaining really well on 2mg MJ so a little reluctant to upset things by changing but seriously considering it. I'm telling myself that it was considered a miracle drug before MJ, and all those American celebs loved it so it can't be that bad surely.

KrankyKumquat · 17/08/2025 09:25

@CoverMeInMarmalade
I'm similar - been with oushk over a year and never had an issue with anything, not even the supposedly dodgy website. However, if as seems likely, the discount for maintenance goes, it'll be hard to justify staying with them. My low BMI makes moving more problematic though.

Will do. I have loved Mounjaro, no real side effects, works well and quickly for me (2 stone down since 1st july). But reality is we are all different and some people tolerate Wegovy better, some mounjaro better and some no difference. Both work amazingly well - the percentage difference is across two different groups of people in two different studies. In reality your body will do what it does anyway. I think eating well, doing some exercise or movement as best you can and trying to be happy in life all support a life change that can be sustained.

We all talk up the choices we make (and denigrate the ones we discounted) so it makes sense to have some bias. We are all perfectly imperfect. Keep on keeping on krankykumquat.

Btrsun10 · 17/08/2025 09:31

I've been on MJ since April 24. I'm a slow loser (compared to some) and have about 50lbs off - I'm very happy with that.
I'm with Oushk and have never been near their FB page as I'm not a fan of FB anyway. I like Oushk - I like that they do all the checks and that delivery happens when they say it will.

I'd a 10mg on order due on 21st Aug but since the news broke I've put in an order for 2 x 7.5 (10mg OOS). I'd been hoping to be able to order 3 but I must not have been able to due to the one I'd already had on order.

Anyway, the point of my posting here is to say that I tried Ozempic way back before MJ was on the scene. I was on it for 3-4 months - I did not lose 1 lb and the side effects were horrendous. I was nauseous all day long, was exhausted, had terrible gastric problems and by the end was becoming so depressed, I could barely make it through the day. I only stayed on it that long as I tried to convince myself that at some point it would get better and start working. In the end I could not continue.
Disclaimer - I know that this will NOT be the case for everyone and I've read lots of good reports about Ozempic/Wegovy but I have to be honest about how it was for me.

I was very apprehensive starting MJ but the difference was amazing. Within a week I was slowly seeing results, inflammation reduced and no side effects.
Needless to say, if I'm cut off or can no longer afford the new prices, I'll have to stop.

I really hope for all our sakes that things calm down in the coming weeks and it's not as bad as we have been led to believe.

CoverMeInMarmalade · 17/08/2025 09:35

I have a close friend on Ozempic tablets. She is on an Oxford Uni trial - got invited after they reviewed her medical notes because they want to see if it helps reduce cardiac problems over a 5 year period. It's a daily tablet and, so far, she's been doing great on it. Minimal side effects just less appetite.

I like to think that's a future option.

I hope you get the orders sorted Btrsun10. Sounds like an awful experience on Ozempic for you :(

One additional positive with the switch to Wegovy for me is that it is cardio protective and I've an inherited first class ticket for the heart attack express unfortunately.

Hard to make simple choices when things are so up in the air.

Elixir86 · 17/08/2025 09:38

I don't think it's a bad thing people being limited to 1 pen, if people didn't hoard it then stock levels can be maintained and you wouldn't have a mass of people who now have no access and are about to run out.
I don't blame people for over buying, I get it, the concern that they won't be able to afford it etc, but it's so poor that the news broke in the way it did and its the media causing panic again.
I just find people turn rabid when stuff like this happens. It's every man/woman for themselves and it's like we forget about humanity, I think these things tend to show us in our worst light.

Yes I’m sure other places will be cheaper and I’m not interested either because I need a flexible maintenance plan from elsewhere, but I don’t think it’s sneaky or trying to trick people into getting locked into some disadvantageous deal.

It will be really interesting to see how the pharmacies approach this very volatile situation, they must be nervous about what customers will choose to do, who will stay on MJ, who will move to Wegovy, can they accommodate a large move across, what will their competitors be offering, who has negotiated the best deal with suppliers, how can they offer some kind of certainty to customers who themselves are nervous about stock availability. I noticed ‘guaranteed stock and delivery timelines’ was one of the things Pillsorted are offering with their membership. I would be making a big thing of that if I were them as a lot of people are struggling to get the dose they need at the moment.

KrankyKumquat · 17/08/2025 09:39

@markyb123
Very true. I've lost over 6st on MJ, starting May 24 and maintaining since November. I've reduced from 10mg to 2mg with no noticeable difference in effect so I'm hopeful that many now struggling to afford higher doses will find lower doses pretty good too when combined with a healthy diet and exercise. Any change is a leap of faith.

CoverMeInMarmalade · 17/08/2025 09:40

I would be too! Over my time with MJ I've seens stock issues across all pharmacies of higher doses (twice), seen the increased regulations meaning more hoops to jump through to get it, and now this. Stock reliability is a massive boon, imo.

Elixir86 · 17/08/2025 09:40

Genuinely no dig at people buying multiples, it's scary if it's been a lifeline for you, just with the media for turning this into such a shit show.

Really hope that Wegovy works for you.....sounds like it might be a better option for you.
Good luck 🍀
