@MissMogs when weight fluctuates a lot over one or two days, one thing’s for sure, it isn’t fat. It takes 3,500 calories EXTRA to put a pound of fat on, so daily variations must be simply water etc. The main thing is to stay in calorie deficit over an extended period and your weight will come down as your body uses your fat store to make up that energy shortfall.
we shouldn’t worry too much with those variations - we should all just keep coming here for encouragement, to help keep us on track!

I pay close to the list price for my pens - my provider seems really expensive compared to some prices quoted here! I wonder if that’s because they are happy to prescribe off recommendation? I have a 5mg pen that I will start this week (but at a lower dosage as I’m still losing well at 2.5mg) and then I plan to order a 2.5mg pen to keep in reserve, but otherwise I am done. I’m 7lb off goal weight too @finalpunt and not on HRT but think I need it because I am really struggling with my moods, cycles are short and brain is just not working like it used to. I’m 45 so right at that point in life I think….

One thing I’ve found with MJ is that my gut health is so much better - rarely bloated, never flatulent and regular - prior to starting I was constantly uncomfortable! I’m hoping that I don’t return to this if I stop but I don’t think I could be on WLI for maintenance as I’ve lost so much on the lowest dose as I’ve just lost all interest in food!

Down 1lb again now so only 6 to go 😊.
I am convinced it was HRT, even though they say you don't gain weight.
I was ok, a bit over weight compared to what I would have liked but ok. Once increased to 4 pumps of gel, all symptoms (including insomnia went) but each week my weight just went up and my boob's were going up a bra size every couple of months.
HRT was totally worth it as meno symptoms are shit but couldn't recognise my own body anymore.
@missmogs the weeks I eat more I always have better loss. When suppression is really high and I struggle to eat I probably lose .5 to 1lb. When I eat my 3 meals and force the calories the first couple of days I seem to lose 1.8lb to 2lb

Thank you!

SomethingAboutYou · 17/08/2025 11:36

@MissMogs I ate a hearty tuna pasta meal last night and was convinced the scales would be terrible this morning, nope, I'm down 0.3kg on yesterday morning 🤷‍♀️ It has cooled down here overnight though so I think I was holding on to some water due to the heat.

I think it's good to not panic, but it's also good to evaluate your meals and snacks, are you getting enough protein, fruit and veg, enough water. Are snacks high in calories etc.

I definitely let some bad habits creep in this week whilst work was busy, a simple meal deal lunch was a whopping 900calories without me even realising! It was only when I put it into myfitnesspal after eating that I realised how much I'd eaten, and on a day when I was super sedentary due to being on phonelines all day 🫣 I completely misjudged how high that meal was (chicken fajita wrap, crisps and 2 biscuits).

ChiaraMontague · 17/08/2025 14:12

The scales have been flickering between 93.8 and 94.1 all week (eventually landing on 94.0 every day!) until this morning when they registered 93.3kg

I’m on W10D2 - this is my second week of 7.5mg and it’s really kicking my arse. I’m finding it so hard to eat and have only made my calorie target on 1 day, and I’m nowhere near my protein target. I will see how it goes this week and may drop down to 5mg for the final doses.

I ordered a 3 pen bundle from Chemist4U after all the price increase news (my bundle contains 10; 12.5 and 15mg pens). I’m now a bit worried that I made a mistake and I should stay on 7.5mg or even drop down to 5mg again, I’ll do another consultation with them in a week to see what they advise.

If the new price of the 5mg pen is not too crazy, I might order that again and save the stronger ones for when I need them.

Xmasfairy86 · 17/08/2025 14:34

Monj.co.uk makes for some scary reading right now. Many out of stock and the remaining have crept up in cost already

I've made this mistake loads too, if I grab a pre packed sandwich on my way to work or from the cafe my lunchtime calories are through the roof. I keep telling myself I need to meal prep better for office days but I leave so early it has to be done the night before and Im just too tired (lazy) 😫

waitingforlifeonmars · 17/08/2025 17:03

Going through airport security and I wondered what thing was in my daughter’s belongings grey tray, before she put her stuff in Pulled it out and found what looked like an unused MJ needle. Firstly, I hoped that the person had another (long gone!). Secondly, I wondered if they were used for something else?

Hey @Puffalicious, I feel exactly the same since 3.75mg. I have maintained (although albeit through a busy period) then finally got 1lb off this week. Stepping up to 5mg tomorrow to see if that kick starts things again. Trust the process n all that ☺️

Ah! Thankfully it's not just me! I'm reticent to increase to 5mg due to SE. Jabbing tomorrow, so will see.

Interestingly, I'm the same! They SAY it doesn't increase your weight, but I'm also on the gel & feel that I definitely piled it on. Who knows if that's just due to meno or the HRT itself? Of the 3.5 stone I put on in 3 years, I reckon most of it was HRT/meno. So depressing.

I was really worried about going up to 5mg after 10 weeks on 2.5mg but I’ve been completely fine since I had my first jab last Thursday so you might be fine! I’ve been eating fine so now wondering if I should have gone to 7.5mg for next month rather than the next 5mg I have ordered…

SomethingAboutYou · 17/08/2025 19:18

@flameprincess I tend to take a Huel protein shake with me to work when I haven't had time to prepare lunch. I can only stomach their black edition chocolate one, and only if it's nice and cold, but it keeps me full and I know it's 400kcals, has nutrients and 35g protein so it's saved me from pre-packed sandwiches a few times. Its taken a bit of time to get used to the shake though, cheaper ones from Lidl taste nicer but don't keep me full for as long and taste very sweet (like proper milkshake) which I've gone off.

I have actually made a salad for lunch tomorrow so looking forward to that!! I feel like the huel is outing me as a mounjaro user though as I never used to drink protein shakes before!

That's excellent. I've had terrible sulphur burps & wind on 3.75mg after have zero SE on 2.5. Don't want more of that, so might stick to 3.75 this week.

SomethingFun · 17/08/2025 19:37

Hey 😊 I missed a few threads but thought I would post.

I’ve done 2 pens of 2.5mg and I’m halfway through my first week of 5mg. I’ve lost 13lbs which I’m very happy about and went under 12st this morning for the first time in a couple of years! Very happy and wore my non-stretchy jeans for the first time in ages 😁

SW: 180lbs (12st12)
CW: 167lbs (11st13)
GW: 147lbs (10st7)
DreamW: 133 (9st7)

Focusispower · 17/08/2025 20:04

@flameprincess and @Puffalicious this is what worries me about HRT - I really don’t want to gain weight just after I’ve lost it due to HRT. The challenge is that I need to do something about my rage as I’m just so angry and irritable all the time. My cycles seem to have shortened and are really unpredictable and heavy too.

Hungry day today and think I will bring my jab forward to this evening. I’ve got a 5mg pen but a busy week so I think I want to do 30 clicks for a 0.6mg dose?! I’m travelling up and down the country so do not want to risk any side effects from upping the dose!

Oh gosh I made the mistake of ordering a bunch of strawberry Huel from Amazon without tasting them first (I mean I like strawberry protein shakes so how different can they be?) - absolutely god awful I couldn't even hold my nose and stomach them 😫

The experience put me off trying other flavours but I may just stock up on the For Goodness Shakes ones for lunches. I have leftover roast chicken and veg from today's dinner for tomorrow at least!

It just blows my mind how many extra calories there are in pre packed sandwiches compared to those I make at home? And that's even with me counting the butter calories!

My husband likes the banana ones 🤮 I was really hoping the strawberry ones would be nices, gutted you ordered loads!

I lived off shop bought sandwiches when travelling with work 10yrs ago, and I was surprised at my weight gain 😂

They were really thick too and had to be shaken for ages lest you got a surprise 'strawberry bogey' in a gulp 😅

Yeah and here was me thinking getting a sandwich deal was healthier than hitting McDonalds. Its not all that different!
M&S do some amazing salads for lunch but again, I really need to be less lazy and prep myself not be spending £6 on a lunch...

Focusispower · 17/08/2025 21:28

Things like Huel (phone autocorrected to hurl, which sounds accurate!) absolutely destroy my guts. Not sure what it is but the ingredients don’t look the cleanest. The only protein I can tolerate is organic whey cocoa and maca - it’s pleasant. I mix it with Plenish plant milk (just as a preference).

I too was a ragey nightmare! It's seriously helped with that, but sadly.not with the brain fog, which drives me insane! I've been lucky not to be too hot, but my sister was so hot constantly that she needed the HRT just so she didn't wash sheets every night- seriously that wet & sweaty. I'm a nicer person on it, I feel like myself, just don't like the weight gain. However, it may just be ruddy meno hormones anyway, I'll never know 🙈

Gettingfitorbust · 17/08/2025 22:47

I don’t know what to do. I’m on week 9 and had slowly lost 11lbs, which I was OK with, but my weight loss has completely come to a halt over the last 2 weeks which is a pain.
I haven’t gone up from 2.5mg as I haven’t felt hungry except for just before meal times, and am managing OK just below 1200 daily calories.
Im walking 10,000 steps and lifting light weights. Is there any point in going for 5mg seeing as suppression seems Ok?

nailslikeknives · 17/08/2025 23:03

1200 calories is quite low given the amount of exercise you do, have you used a calculator to work out how many you should be eating?

Agree with pp, you might not be eating enough. I stalled for about a week but are more the last day or two and the weight has started to shift again
