W10D3 - yesterday was better food-wise.

I think the key for me is not to fill up with liquid, if I have the protein smoothie I feel way too full and that causes me to feel so nauseous that I don’t want to eat anything for the rest of the day.

I had Greek yoghurt and fruit for breakfast yesterday and today, that is sitting better (sadly way less protein but hopefully I can balance that with what I manage to eat over the rest of the day).

My bundle of 3 pens should arrive today (I ordered the 10, 12.5 and 15 bundle on Friday morning) so I should be ok until the end of the year. I really hope prices will have stabilised and/or chemists will be a bit more competitive again by then, particularly on maintenance doses. I don’t think we’ll ever see it as cheap as it was last week but maybe it won’t be quite as painful as it’s looking right now.

Librariesrule · 19/08/2025 13:23

Forgot to add earlier this week's loss takes me to 1st 4lb down.

MissMogs · 19/08/2025 13:31

Weight up again this morning for me, but it’s jab day and I can already feel higher suppression only a few hours later! Feeling positive as I went on a brisk walk too.

Picalilylou · 19/08/2025 14:10

Just back from 2 weeks in France and found the new thread.
I have always gained at least 4lbs on a holiday....delighted to weigh in this morning and be another 1lb down. Before I went I was hoping at best to maintain. I relaxed, didn't track anything and ate what I fancied, including baguette, crisps and an ice cream every day. Tried my best on protein but didn't stress about it. I just wasn't hungry enough to eat that much quantity wise, especially as we had a crazy heatwave around 40c several days! I don't drink alcohol, but did treat myself to several full sugar Orangina. I'm amazed to be honest.

Sharing as might be reassuring for those still with holidays to come.

Saw all the news about price rises. Trying not to panic even though I want to take until at least January. I planned to leave Juniper this month as my initial intro offer prices had ended and they are more expensive, but they gave me a decent discount to stay this month, then someone has used my referral code which will get me a discount next month, hopefully this will see me through until new pricing becomes clearer!

FoxRedPuppy · 19/08/2025 14:12

Well done @Picalilylou great to lose anything on holiday! I always get cravings for orange fanta when its really hot!

RJmama · 19/08/2025 15:51

@Picalilylou can I ask how you got the juniper discount? I’m with them too and often struggle to find a code. Was thinking of switching providers as well.

ChiaraMontague · 19/08/2025 16:54

NSV 🎉

The very lovely but too small tailored trousers that I bought on Vinted when I started Mounjaro now fit and look great!
Because they are nicely tailored and have a very snatched waist, I’m hoping that I can wear my tops tucked in and get away with them being a bit too loose for another couple of months.

Go through the cancellation process on the app, then you get to a point and it says are you sure you want to cancel or stay with a discount. You can only do that once though. I posted my discount code on the relevant thread here and it seems someone has used, so worth doing that as well. Might get you an extra few months without the hassle of changing suppliers. They are also saying once they release new pricing there is going to be a cheaper option without the health coach included. I'd definitely take that as I only spoke to mine in the first week and they don't seem to check in with me. I still anticipate having to change at some point though as they do have a higher price point.

SomethingAboutYou · 19/08/2025 21:29

Anyone else seem to have a super sense of smell? I was walking corridors in work today identifying all manners of smells, from aromatherapy oils to perfume to new cleaning products. Either MJ has given me a gift or I'm ffricken pregnant!! 🫣

Focusispower · 19/08/2025 22:38

I did the golden dose yesterday from an old pen that hadn’t been kept in the fridge. Will see if it works. I haven’t started my 5mg pen yet but will pack it to take away with me this week. Will have to have it out of the fridge for 36 hours but I’m not overly worried. Busy time ahead, social events, meals out etc so not expecting much progress but I’m so close to goal weight now.

@SomethingAboutYou you joke but every month I get an automated email telling me to use extra protection whilst on MJ to avoid pregnancy! I’m 45 and heading into peri so I think it’s unlikely tbh! In all seriousness though - I have felt the opposite like almost a dulling of taste and smell.

SomethingAboutYou · 19/08/2025 23:12

I'm 40 and in peri, on the pill to sort out crazy periods but have been using extra protection due to the warnings on MJ so it's unlikely to be pregnancy. But I was walking the corridors thinking how lovely and different they all smelled and then stopped and thought, bugger, last time I had this level of smelling abilities I was pregnant! Will take a test tomorrow to check. It's probably some weird side effect of MJ. Or my sinuses have magically cleared and I can now smell the world 😊 🤷‍♀️ either way, it was delightful!!

Sogfree · 20/08/2025 07:57

I had my smear last week @Focusispower and I laughed when the nurse asked if I could be pregnant.

We had a long chat around this, enough to say her real life experience of 45+ year old peri women getting pregnant has scared me witless. It shouldn't happen at our age, but I suspect the women she knows who fell pregnant thought it wouldn't happen to them either.

RussianDoll76 · 20/08/2025 09:27

It’s mad how many different reactions we are all having. I have lost my sense of smell and definitely noticing a loss of taste. I am having a very light and barely there period after not even having one at all last month. Nosebleeds still happening and warnings on my iPhone telling me my heart rate dips to 31 😳 when I’m asleep. Not sure what that means but I get emergency notifications most morning’s. 🤔 I have been able to eat more and also had some fizzy , crisps , chips . Small amounts . Which had strangely led me to lose weight daily ! 😳. Ibs-d has not come back at all . 🤞. The reduction in inflammation had meant I can walk distances for the first time in 2 yrs . Doctors can’t even explain that one. Just wish It helped my brain fog !!!
Today I reached my first mini goal 11-13lbs on the scales. 😁 So chuffed been years since I’ve seen the 11 stone mark when I think at my heaviest I was 21 stone. I am feeling very proud today 😊. Now to get some water into me and move a little . Hope everyone is having a good day !!!

FoxRedPuppy · 20/08/2025 09:35

Brilliant @RussianDoll76 !

I always chuckle when they ask if I could be pregnant. Between perimenopause, coil and personal circumstances it would be some sort of immaculate conception 😂.

I seem to be maintaining and so now trying to take my own advice that this is perfectly normal 😂.

SomethingAboutYou · 20/08/2025 09:52

@RussianDoll76 wow what an achievement! Well done! You must be feeling amazing, especially with being able to walk distances. Not had any experience with the nosebleeds and heart rate stuff though. Take care and check with your doctor if it persists.

The pregnancy test was negative so my sense of smell is a mystery.

I was hoping for a big drop on the scales this week after a small one last week but my daily weigh ins are showing up and down fluctuations but not in a downward trend, just roughly around the same place as the last 2 weeks so Friday might be a disappointing one. Wanting to go up to 5mg to see what happens but then the cost will increase if I can't get 5 doses out of a pen, which us annoying!

ChiaraMontague · 20/08/2025 10:14

I’ve noticed the enhanced sense of smell too @SomethingAboutYou Really doesn’t help when the food aversion is strong and my sense of smell seems to be turned up to 11!

healthjourney · 20/08/2025 10:22

@RussianDoll76that is all so amazing, you must be feeling so good 😊 as I was reading i was thinking 'I can barely imagine what it will be like seeing an 11 on the scales' I weighed under 12 stone for about a week 9 years ago then went on holiday and came back 7lbs heavier to never lose it. Then I realised I am now 12st5 so it might only be a few weeks away for me!

My NSV this week is not as impressive but I wore a dress to work that I love but it has been too small for more than 5 years, not worn since pre-covid and it fits perfectly now. I will be wearing it as much as I can before it gets too small then probably looking on vinted for another one in a size smaller 😆

Oh have you! So far I haven't had an aversion to any smells, although I did find it hard to stomach my protein shake at lunch time so maybe it was linked to me new found sense of smell!

@SomethingAboutYou you can still get 5 doses out of a 5mg pen if you use your golden dose? I've just gone up this week after a plateau at 3.75mg and the scales are heading downward again.

Booklover2021 · 20/08/2025 18:11

So I've been using a 5mg pen doing 3.75mg. just did my golden dose and filled syringe to .6

Have I accidentally just injected a full 5mg?! 🙈

Going away on Friday. Usually jab Saturday night. This will be a new pen meaning it will have to travel to Scotland from the Deep South- Cotswolds 😂 do I jab Friday morning so I don’t have to take a pen with me?! Or, I was going to attempt the golden dose so maybe I just take my last pen and supplies and shut myself in the bathroom whilst I perform the manoeuvre 😂
No one I’m going with knows about me being on MJ.

Yes, you absolutely have. Hopefully you wont have any side effects

If you fully injected it all, I’d say yes
